I loved how everyone cleaned up after themselves and the 30 Minute circuit was an actual circuit at Planet Fitness back in the day. Now even regulars who've been going to this gym for years seem allergic to cleaning up their sweat, and it isn't enforced at all. I don't even see staff cleaning after themselves when they workout. The quickest way to offend those in the circuit area is to ask them if they can move so you can actually circulate. I haven't asked the staff to enforce it because they don't do that either when they are working out. The first time I joined the gym there was someone who tended to peek into the circuit area. She would say she didn't mind people choosing not to do the circuit but they needed to be mindful of those who are trying or she could help them find similar equipment to use outside of the circuit. She'd ask people to wipe down equipment before moving on If she saw them walking away. There is nothing like that at all now. Nothing is enforced. Equipment hogging throughout the gym can be annoying, especially if the person is just sitting and FaceTiming or watching TikToks for a half hour. I don't remember that being an issue when I first joined. There are a few customers who might try to claim three pieces of equipment by doing stuff like putting a phone, water bottle, and a key on each. I wish staff didn't allow that, but most customers are fine if you ask them if you can move their stuff for whatever amount of minutes you'd like to use the equipment. I've actually met most of my gym buddies that way. Ironically, I think most hog just to preemptively protect their workout time from the real hoggers. The only place I've really received pushback asking for someone to move their things has been in the circuit area. Most of the customers are friendly or at least neutral. There are times sexual harassment can be a bit much, but I've noticed most like that don't tend to stay at the gym long. The air can be hot and stuff for a gym, but I tell myself that's how PF keeps costs down. Staff are friendly. It isn't uncommon to see someone walking around with a Swiffer or a mop. The bathroom and changing area is almost always reasonably clean relative to the amount of foot traffic in and out. If it isn't clean when I walk in, it's clean by the time I leave. Gyms with much lighter foot traffic aren't as diligent about keeping the bathrooms clean. One thing I like about the renovation is that I feel as if there is more space to stretch and stuff without getting in anyone's space even at peak times. I never realized that I had been accumulating points to get free stuff at the gym until a staff member told me the program was going away. There wasn't really anything to get because others had been redeeming their points. That was a bummer because I had a ton of points. There is no more free pizza these days. It's been gone many years, but I still miss my slice of white. I appreciate the Tootsie Rolls, though.

I am her caregiver and cannot leave her to visit the gym. I received no response, and Crunch continued charging me in August despite my never checking in or using the facility. When I called, Jenna, the assistant manager, told me I wasn't eligible to use the facility because of a previously canceled account. However, she also refused to refund the August charges. Crunch is essentially saying I cannot use the membership but must still pay for it. Since the location refused to resolve the issue, I have now had to file a chargeback. The fact that caring for my dying mother was not enough to warrant a basic manager override is absurd. I wasn't asking for special treatment simply because I changed my mind. I was asking them to honor a cancellation I had already submitted and refund charges processed afterward for a gym I have never used. I wasn't even requesting a refund for June or July, only August because I had previously canceled on their corporate site - locations page which took me directly to the Middletown location. Jenna also stated it says in my agreement that I have to cancel in person, I reviewed my agreement today as I uploaded it to my bank and I can assure you it does not say this. Jenna was combative from the beginning of the call and repeatedly spoke over me whenever I tried to explain or respond. When I pointed out the contradictions in her statements, she responded with exaggerated noises such as, "Ohhhhh, huuhhhh, mmmm," which came across as though she was struggling not to curse at me. Her behavior was dismissive, unprofessional and completely inappropriate for an assistant manager speaking with a customer who was simply trying to resolve a billing issue. I explained that I canceled my two previous accounts because I had never once used the facility. Jenna responded that they could review my check-in history. I encouraged her to do exactly that because those records will confirm that I have never checked in or used this gym, including during the current membership period. Unfortunately, this is not my first cancellation problem with this location. Both previous accounts were canceled in person by completing the required form, yet the billing continued. At one point, a manager refunded only half of those charges but refused to correct the earlier ones. I had to dispute the remaining charges with my card issuer, and the dispute was decided in my favor. Crunch still did not cancel the accounts and according to Jenna, entered collections (though I do not see this on my records) which is why I am ineligible to use their facilities. Jenna insisted that my only options were to appear in person or send a cancellation request by certified mail. My husband is now going to the gym to obtain a cancellation form for me, even though Jenna stated that this was not an option. Apparently, placing this additional burden on a family caring for a terminally ill parent is preferable to management simply correcting the account. This location has repeatedly continued billing me after cancellation attempts, refused to refund charges for services it says I cannot use and forced me to seek help from my card issuer. I consider that predatory. Keep copies of everything, monitor your statements closely and be prepared to dispute charges even after following this location's cancellation instructions.

The owner and staff have created a workout community that pushes you like a regular gym never would - while also creating a fun and friendly atmosphere that you are excited to be a part of. I'll also add - when you hear about CrossFit or see some of the insanely fit people there, it looks super intimidating. I can tell you once you go, it's the complete opposite. Everything is explained very thoroughly, everything can be scaled for your fitness level, and the coaches and your workout partners are so extremely supportive and helpful. I am so glad I got my past fear and went for it because it wound up not being scary at all and each class I learn something new and see improvement. Highly recommend!

Ryan & his team of coaches do a phenomenal job. My husband and son train here as well and we all love it. We have been members at other local area gyms/ fitness organizations in the area but we have never felt at home as we do here. We have seen tremendous improvements in our fitness and health since becoming members and the connections and friendships we've made cannot be matched

So I feel I can objectively rate a box and its trainers based on the variety that I have trained in and visited. I am also CF level 1 certified along with other fitness certifications from my days as a personal trainer. Coaches: Mike is the head coach there and is coaching most of the classes. They do have at least 6 other coaches if not more and if they're not coaching they are there working out. One of the things I love is that the coaches are always there either working out or hanging out and always around to help coach, give helpful cues/tips or encourage and motivate. I can't recall 1 class where I wasn't taught something new. Coaches here do a great job of helping your novice and new members all the way to the advance. No matter where you are on the CF spectrum I guarantee you will get the coaching you want and need to get to where you want to be. I'm really impressed with their knowledge, ability to coach any level, approachability, friendliness, and the effort they put forth to help each member in every class. I would be surprised if you went to a class and didn't get at least 1 cue/tip. Programming: the staff do a great job of designing a strength program and skill program to consistently improve yourself and monitor your progress. Their wods are always challenging, balanced, and well thought out. I rarely if ever leave thinking I could do another wod or work on other things bc I'm pretty exhausted after the class. My only knock is I would like to see more KB movements ie. KB snatch or TGU. Facility: it's not the biggest space or the tallest but plenty of height to do a Rx wall ball with room to spare. They do have a rope but I think it just hits the Rx mark so they suggest you don't jump so you get the full climb in. Plenty of height for muscle ups as well. Equipment there's plenty of it and enough rack space for lifts sometimes you double up if it's a large class. Community: it's great here, everyone is friendly, inviting and motivating. From the novice to the advance you'll feel comfortable here and welcomed. They have social events and put teams together to compete in local competitions. It looks like they get a great turn out for both. So my wife and I love training here and we've checked out a few other boxes in the area but we felt at home here. We really enjoy it for the improvements we've seen in our performance and technique along with the friendships we've made.
