Was my favourite until my $14 chicken cutlet was microwaved and was unable to eat went from great to trash never will I come back

Went here after a recommendation from a friend who has been frequenting this family-run business for years. Absolutely delicious bagels! Bagels were so fresh and soft that our group went back 2 days in a row. The number of choices on the menu was a bit overwhelming. You can literally order almost any bagel/sandwich combination you can think of, and they will make it fresh! That said, the service is not super speedy (if you order deli meat, they are slicing it fresh to order), so make sure to give yourself plenty of time to pick up your order. Coffee was adequate, but nothing to write home amount. read more

I went there last week and there is a Hispanic girl with curly hair, I was waiting to be able to order and she was preparing another order with another guy and as soon she saw me she told the guy "Can you take the order of that girl because I'm not taking her order " and I didn't say anything and as soon she say that the guy came and nicely took my order. I think that girl should be a little bit more careful what she said when costumers are around. Food is really Good , But my experience wasn't good at all. read more

Came in for several breakfast items the young lady started on the bagels. The guy working with her finished with his customer so I figured I would tell him I also wanted an egg sandwich. He says is she helping you? Then she can finish you and walks away. She then comes back and when I asked about an item she gave me an attitude and didn't bother offering me a bag for my items. My friend group travels to LI every summer and we are always sure to stop at East End Bagel (sometimes every morning of our trip...). This sandwich looks plain BUT IT WAS A SPIRITUAL LUNCH EXPERIENCE. They were sooo busy but we quickly got everything! There is one kid (skinny with tattoos) that works here that literally screws up every order! he has never got my order correct. I avoid him at all cost even if it means waiting. I love their bagels but having to check your order and then having to send it back makes this place a no go for me! Visiting Long Island. Cute little shop. Came for breakfast. Had the #2 with bacon on an everything bagel. Open on 4th of July morning. Register quick and attentive. People coming in and out. A regular spot for sure. And i understand why. Made fresh to order. Bacon was amazing, and the bread was warm and soft with just the right amount of crunch and grease from the bacon. Called in a large order for two dozen bagels and a dozen rolls for a Bachelorette Brunch. I ordered on Wednesday, scheduled an 8AM pick up, confirmed order yesterday (this is all in my call log). I showed up today at 8 and was told they couldn't find my order. After several minutes they found a slip with my name and order but apparently no one had bothered to make the order. At 8:30, they said they could put an order together but they seemed put out, which is obnoxious because they found the slip so they know it's their bad. If there were another bagel place within 20 miles I would have left, but there's not so I waited. Finally at 8:45 (again, my order pick up was for 8) they gave me my stuff for the outrageous price of almost $80. I just got back to the house. The bagels are the worst bagels I've ever had in my life. Complete embarrassment to Long Island after I raved about LI bagels to the girls from out of state. Absolutely never again. As long as the bitter elderly woman who i'm assuming owns the place considering she certainly acts like it doesn't help you, you will have a great experience here. I called to place an order and the woman screamed "hello" into the phone repeatedly to which I answered and she asked if i could hear her so I said yes. She follows up with "what" so naturally I ask if I indeed was calling a bagel store and didn't accidentally call the wrong number considering the way she was speaking, which was met with her replying with "we're very busy" as if that is what I asked. I then placed my order and came into the store. I am a local that lives less than a minute down the road so this insane crowd of customers that was warranting her to act like this should have still been there when I arrived. However, to no one's surprise there were three customers in the store including myself. three. To all of which she was rude. This woman is a joke and should not work in the service industry if that is what she would call "busy". Try working at a restaurant in the summer for the hundreds of tourists that come then you can talk about busy. It may be time to retire given that you clearly don't want to be there. I gave this place a chance last summer and was getting frustrated with the negative attitude they have towards customers. This year with covid 19 i ordered and so did a fellow customer but the owner wore the same gloves and touched money and then proceeded to prepare food. When the other customer who is a nurse treating covid patients called her out she got defensive and said health department allows her to touch money and prepare food. While the health laws are not clear, common sense says change gloves and wash hands especially since corona virus is around. I wont be eating here again. read more

I come here all the time. Staff is usually very nice and their bagels are very good. However, I was waiting online and I saw this staff member not wearing gloves. I saw them preparing sandwiches, touching pastries, and my bagel without any gloves. They didn't even wash their hands in-between. So unsanitary and i'm surprised their coworker didn't say anything but they didn't seem to even like working in the first place. This is basic restaurant knowledge. Everyone should be wearing gloves... it's our food! Please wear gloves at all times and change your gloves throughout the day.... read more

Not the BEST bagels but they are the best place to get 'em on the North Fork. Goldberg's, probably the only worthwhile competitor out here has good bread but not a good bagel. The East End Bagel Cafe has a large assortment of bagels that taste like they should (again, not THE BEST, but great). Bonus, they also have the best bialys in the area. Their egg salad and tuna salad are delicious and pretty damn affordable compared to other places. read more

I don't live here, in fact this is my first trip to North Fork. I will tell you that NY KNOWS bagels and this place does it right! Half bagel shop half deli, be sure to get here before 8:30 to beat the rush. Amazing bagels. I got my preferred bagel breakfast sandwich and my (very) pregnant wife got her onion bagel with cream cheese. I only gave it 4 stars because I rarely give out 5. Worth stopping. Great bagels and rolls. Lunch is decent usually get a basic turkey sandwich truly depends who makes the sandwich like all deli's some days it's good other days it AWESOME and their slaw it is very different thin sliced and thick n extra creamy. Good drink selection and ooohhh they do these neat bagel sticks that you can dip in cream cheese or Schmear of course!!! read more

We will always come here every time we travel to Orient. This is close by and the staff is always friendly. Pro tip: if you're from Florida like we are and can't get decent bagels, purchase a bunch and put them in your luggage to bring home. read more

Absolutely awful place. I'm a local and have tried giving this place a few trys. They're very unfriendly and have a tendency for making small mistakes on breakfast sandwiches. I called them to inform them they had accidentally put ketchup on my sandwich (Ketchup grosses me out) and that I live all the way in Cutchogue. Her response, "So what do you want me to do about it." Ummm, how about, apologize first then offer to make me a new sandwich. Unbelievable, customer service skills. read more

I was born and raised on Long Island but somehow ended up in Austin Texas. Whenever we manage to make it back home, there's only two things I must have - and one of them is the breakfast sandwich at East End Bagel (pizza is the other, as if you had to ask) - if you're not from the Island you just don't understand exactly what a breakfast sandwich is supposed to be, and the one at the East End is the one I come home to. The morning crowd is brimming with Long Island accents (God I miss that ... ask for a cawfee, light and sweet, in Austin and they look at you like your from another planet), the staff is excellent, and the breakfast sandwich is the perfect blend of over just easy enough egg, crisp bacon, and cheese. Oh yes ... and the bagels - don't get me started on the bagels - best on the east end, maybe best in Suffolk Co. Can't wait to make it back there. read more

These guys kill me, so unfortunate. Bagel quality is less than satisfactory, texture and density are below average, cream cheese is average at best. Egg specials are pricy and a let down, your best bet is Wayside for eggs or Golbergs for authentic bagels period. I wish with all my heart this was not the case as this is often more convenient, but indeed, carry on. read more
