I used to go to East Hampton in Snider Plaza a lot. Then I moved. Today, I decided to try East Hampton on Oaklawn. What a disappointment. When you walk in, the music is blasting. The potato chips were cold and stale, which was usually one of my favorite parts of the meal. The sandwich was cold, and the piece of chicken was too large for the wrap. The wrap was missing something and was not as tasty. I ate half of the sandwich and threw the other half away. I am not in a rush to go back. read more

But I finally tried it for the first time yesterday through Uber eats and had to double back and order again today! I got the Fried Chicken Jack that came with fried chicken, pepper jack cheese, greens, maple bacon, tomato, avocado, and jalapeño ranch. Everything is stacked to perfection, the real thing look like the pictures. I would highly recommend this place to other to try and I can't wait to try other items. I stopped in to order dinner to go, but was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere. It was much classier than your typical sandwich place, and they serve alcohol, so you could definitely have a casual date or dinner/drinks with friends here. As for the food, I was pretty disappointed. I had been wanting to try the sandwich of the month and finally made it in on the last day of November. The social media posts of said sandwich showed it PACKED with turkey and bacon. However, you could barely tell mine had meat on it. It just looked like a sloppy stack of lettuce with some cheese. The pretzel roll was good, as was the cranberry mustard, but overall it wasn't as flavorful as I expected. The sweet potato fries were solid, cut thin so they were nice and crispy. The roll was cold and full of flavor and they provided a butter dip on the side. It can be a challenge to keep everything inside the bread, but when you eat is over some chowder, anything that drops just adds to the good stuff in the bowl. Compared to other places serving the same items, East Hampton is a great value and I will be back. Service exceeded expectations and followed sanitary requirements. My Honey Grilled Chicken was something I could've easily assembled at home: the honey tasted like a sweet afterthought without synchronizing with the other flavors. The grilled chicken was decently juicy so props for that. The bf's Fried Chicken Jack was more memorable: generous layers of avocado and a hint of heat from the jalapeño mayo. Both sandwiches came on perfectly soft & chewy pretzel buns. His side of chips was too greasy for my palate.
