The bacon on top was delicious and crispy, just how I like it. The salad tasted really fresh and satisfied my craving. This little place is located in the mall, and was really busy when we went for lunch, as to be expected. We ordered at the front then they brought out our meal to our table after a few minutes. I really like Mendocino Farms. I can appreciate a healthy, more casual place and tend to seek them out. Personally, I had a really good experience. I had the 1/2 vegan banh mi (my favorite ever) and a cup of tomato soup. Both were delicious and nourishing. The food came out quickly, and it was easy to order at the counter. Employees were pretty friendly, for the most part. The reason I am taking away three stars is because my boyfriend ordered a side salad, but as a large instead of a medium for $10. They brought out a small bowl of salad and SAID "here is the medium kale salad". He then corrected them and clarified the size was incorrect, and the person who delivered our food apologized and talked to the kitchen. The cook in the kitchen doubled down and said that it was a large. It clearly was not. I am unsure why they couldn't just own up to the mistake, especially after it was called a medium as it was placed on the table. Was hoping to hop in for a quick bite before continuing on with some community events in the area. This was 4pm on a Saturday. Ordered, not realizing that everyone ahead of us were also waiting for their food. Ended up being 30 minutes before they could even start making our food. We decided to cancel our order in order to get on with our day. Only managers could issue refunds and they left for the day. Received some vouchers instead as an apology. From the warm greeting entering the door, the consistency in checking on us as we waited for others to arrive and her menu suggestions were excellent. As a chef Im always looking for restaurants that hit all points with service & food and this location did not disappoint! We had a variety of sandwiches from the seasonal peach and prosciutto to the "Not so Fried" chicken and a few others and everything, I mean everything was on point. ROBYN'S CUSTOMER SERVICE deserves recognition and a recommendation to be promote to the next level above her current position. I would like to see her spunk, enthusiam and team encouragment exho through every location Mendocino owns. She went above and beyond to blessed us to try the corn hatch Chile soup... it was . I think i've tried pretty much everything on their menu at this point. Very casual place that has reasonable pricing for a quick and healthy lunch/dinner. The portions are generous and everything is fresh and consistent. Friendly staff and very fast, especially when you order ahead with the app. Favorite sandwiches are the not so fried chicken, peruvian steak, and the turkey avo (this one has a kick especially with the salsa, and was more delicious than I expected!). The new happy hippie veggie sandwich was also very good and filling! The Banh Mi was slightly too salty/soy sauce forward for my taste. Favorite salads are the beet salad, mediterranean, and quinoa. Favorite sides are the pesto shells and couscous. Some other sides like the rainbow salad and dan dan noodles taste like they've been marinating a bit... but overall not bad! I'm so glad Mendocino finally came to Dallas! I first tried it in Houston back when I was in college. The menu has so many creative options that I still need to explore. The staff here is so welcoming and friendly. They are so helpful with suggestions and offered me a drink while I was waiting for my to-go order. My favorite thing to order is the avocado and quinoa superfood salad. The avocado is always perfectly ripe and thinly sliced. I love the crunchy texture the quinoa and superfood krunchies bring. I have been to the Ross location but had my first experience at the new Uptown spot. I am obsessed with the "not so fried" chicken sandwich and also they have an avocado quinoa salad that is so good! Also the portions are pretty large. They are still training and learning but they crew was so kind. I was talking to a girl and I mentioned next time I'd probably try the Thai chicken and she asked for my name and said she would remind me about that when I come back. They have a eclectic menu from entrees to side dishes. This is my second time so I tried something new. I got the steak and bacon sandwich. It was flavorful the bread was a bit thick though. I might have liked it better in a different style of bread. Or maybe crunchy bread like ciabatta? For my side I got the basil noodles. They were super good.
