One word for this restaurant, WOW! Everything about this place screams fun, creative and unique and this had nothing to do with the food. The murals, colors, sounds and atmosphere definitely do a number on your senses. These is so much to see and this place is HUGE! Now for the food, can you say DELICIOUS!??? The entire menu with the exception of breakfast items which were recently introduced on the clearly listed menu boards behind the front counter. Items such as Keto tacos and burritos, regular tacos, quesadillas and do much more. All of the cooks came to work here after the Pantry in DTLA closed down for good so the food is EXCELLENT!! This is by far my favorite taco spot. I will travel 1 hour+ to eat here. I've had a lot of tacos living in LA/IE. This is my favorite one, to the point where I don't even really want tacos unless it's from here. What stands out is that there's no fat on the asada. Every taco I've tried has some fat that i end up biting into and it's unenjoyable. I've never had that issue here. The green salsa is SUPERIOR. Not the creamy green one but the salsa verde. Stopped at this place because my husband and I found out that the chefs were previously employed by the Original Pantry restaurant (Los Angeles) that closed back in March of 2025. I ordered queso tacos with tripas. They are also known as chitterlings, and small intestines. I have to begin with the texture, which was spot on. When I ordered them, I requested them to be extra crispy. Let me tell you, they were perfect. They were slightly hard, and dry with a satisfying crunch. The firm brittle texture just made them ideal. I was super heartbroken when we were visiting California and found out that the East Coast Pantry had been shut down. It is so exciting to me to see the fact that the cooks from there came and brought those flavors to East Los Tacos. The cheese they use on the eggs is absolutely incredible. The pancakes are amazing. We came here specifically today because of the NBC video that mentioned today's proceeds are going towards their newest employees who were formally at The Pantry. Truly a great cause and also goes to show Erika the owner cares for the community. Baller move too because everyone can enjoy breakfast. We got there at 1030 and waited about 20 minutes to order. This is the place that a few of the old employees went when The Original Pantry downtown LA closed its doors. You are able to get the same food as the Panty for breakfast and it was very tasty. Service is good. Ambiance is casual but nice and clean - HOWEVER, everything is served in paper cups, paper plates and plastic utensils. Because of this - I won't be back to pay these prices and to eat off "CHEAP". Thank goodness The Original Panty will be reopening at the end of 2025 it in January 2026 with most of its employees all returning. read more

I was so excited to find out this place gave the employees from The Original Pantry an opportunity to work and continue selling their amazing breakfast when the original pantry shut down. It was amazing to see familiar faces, from cooks to servers. Food was exactly as it was at The Pantry with the exception of the coleslaw. Still amazing but now you have to pay for it; whereas it was included at The Original Pantry at no extra charge. However, something has changed and not for the better. None of the original cooks are there anymore and it shows with the food quality. Went there a couple weeks ago. Mom and I ordered the breakfast platter, husband ordered the omelette. They were out of sourdough bread. What!?!!?? That's one of the Pantry's staples! Cashier asks if I want a different type of bread. Substitute it with white bread... I guess. Cashier then says oh we're out of bread entirely! Wtf! She asked if we wanted extra eggs. Well.. I don't think I have a choice! As you can see in the pics, looks like it went from extra eggs to prob just one damn egg lol. Disappointing. Our bill for 3 people was 70 bucks for eggs and no bread! Yeah... probably not coming back here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Took mom to the bathroom. Their soap dispenser didn't work. Instead, they had a measuring cup with soap. GROSS!
