I used to work at one of the schools nearby East Los, and remembered that they did catering. Their food was pretty good and one of my favorites in this area. I recently came back and made a pickup order via DoorDash since I was in the area. Service was pretty good and the workers here are polite. The dining area is pretty spacious. Fun fact: this place is also ELA's unofficial town hall meeting. I don't know if they make their horchata in house, but it's definitely one of my favorites. The murals, colors, sounds and atmosphere definitely do a number on your senses. These is so much to see and this place is HUGE! Now for the food, can you say DELICIOUS!??? The entire menu with the exception of breakfast items which were recently introduced on the clearly listed menu boards behind the front counter. Items such as Keto tacos and burritos, regular tacos, quesadillas and do much more. All of the cooks came to work here after the Pantry in DTLA closed down for good so the food is EXCELLENT!! Stopped at this place because my husband and I found out that the chefs were previously employed by the Original Pantry restaurant (Los Angeles) that closed back in March of 2025. I ordered queso tacos with tripas. They are also known as chitterlings, and small intestines. I have to begin with the texture, which was spot on. When I ordered them, I requested them to be extra crispy. Let me tell you, they were perfect. They were slightly hard, and dry with a satisfying crunch. The firm brittle texture just made them ideal. I will definitely order these tacos again. They also had a salsa bar with a variety of chili, and cucumbers. Another plus in my opinion. We came here specifically today because of the NBC video that mentioned today's proceeds are going towards their newest employees who were formally at The Pantry. I was super heartbroken when we were visiting California and found out that the East Coast Pantry had been shut down. It is so exciting to me to see the fact that the cooks from there came and brought those flavors to East Los Tacos. The cheese they use on the eggs is absolutely incredible. The pancakes are amazing. Because of this - I won't be back to pay these prices and to eat off "CHEAP". I am glad to have found a local taco shop in the area. This place is giant and has lots of seating. Carne asada here is good as that's my go to for tacos and burritos. This is by far my favorite taco spot. I will travel 1 hour+ to eat here. I've had a lot of tacos living in LA/IE. This is my favorite one, to the point where I don't even really want tacos unless it's from here. What stands out is that there's no fat on the asada. Every taco I've tried has some fat that i end up biting into and it's unenjoyable. I've never had that issue here. The green salsa is SUPERIOR. Not the creamy green one but the salsa verde. Inside is big, lots of space to sit down and they usually sell some sort of chocolate covered strawberries/ Dubai strawberries. 11/10. All time favorite. read more

A great sit down restaurant where you can also enjoy authentic tacos for cheap. The food came out very fast and the food was delicious. The corn tortillas are mildly crispy. Meat was very very savory and tender. I got the carne asada, pastor, lengua, and cabeza. They were all tasty and I would get all of them again. They do have a small parking lot behind the restaurant. With all the media hype I had to check this out. Had the breakfast sampler platter and coffee. Comes with bacon, eggs , sausage, ham, potatoes. First off the potatoes weren't seared or crispy and weren't seasoned, kinda like sad lumpy mash potatoes. The ham was a small slice piece less than expected for a sampler platter. Everything else was good , bacon crispy toast toasty, eggs medium as ordered. Portions and pricing was reasonable. Theres no servers so you have to go the counter and ask for a coffee refill. The place is a cross between counter style dining and a sit down but sadly you have to eat it with plastic utensils. I would understand if it were take out.
