Local spot serving amazing ribeye tacos and burritos. Everything I've tried here has been fresh and delicious. Super friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere. They have patio and a private parking lot. The restaurant was sold and it went downhill fast but luckily the old owner bought it back. Now it's back to having fresh quality meats and solid food. Their happy hour is really good too. Their micheladas are perfect. Not too thick with the right mixture. If you have time for dessert go across the street to El Gallo bakery. It's the same owner. This place isn't closed by any means. We were there 02/18/2024 for breakfast. Love the vibe, food was freshly made and the server was very friendly. I got the chilaquiles with egg and carne asada. Chips were still nice and crunchy, green sauce was delicious and the meat was pan fried, light crisp edges. They also give you birote (bread) and potatoes. Prices were mid-range for the quality of food and service. We will be returning soon, we usually go for bread at their bakery across the street and that's what prompted us to try out this restaurant. A quiet and picturesque patio in the back, easy on-site parking and an interior that is reminiscent of rustic Jalisco interior design is cool. We stopped in to get a to go margarita the owner was kind enough to offer us fresh homemade tortillas with butter we said we'll be back for dinner sure enough we came back my fiance got breakfast which is served all day and I got chicken and steak fajitas it's not on the menu but said they can make whatever which made my partner get a omelette W/ cheese. The chorizo queso was the best I've had 12/10 I recommend everything! When I say this is the best Mexican food I've had outside of my own kitchen I'm in love with the freshness and quality of the food and meats the flour tortillas are amazing handmade and light. They rebooted the restaurant not to long ago and i wouldn't go back. I would come by more often before covid shut them down and not sure what happened. I had a michelada mediocre at best, the queso fundido with chorizo sent me to the bathroom to vomit almost 3 minutes later, looked funky and i knew better but i figured i was exaggerating until i ran to the bathroom. The azada was diesmillo not good or authentic was expecting ranchera, asked for more chips and took forever to get more and when they did arrive they were undercooked and chewy not crunchy. I paid $60 for 2 carne asada plates with two chicken tacos on the side oh and I had to get two sides of rice because the asada plate does not come with it. Just 1 side (beans) and 1 quesadilla. My brother couldn't even eat the meat. I ate it bc I was hungry. Huge mistake. This gave me a stomach bug. I'm literally in the bathroom writing this. The 2 extra tacos were for my toddler but thankfully he was asleep and did not get to eat them bc I threw everything out. Wouldn't even give this to my dog. I use to love this place. I went regularly before the pandemic. I use to give it 5 stars. Went again after a year of not going. I was so disappointed with the taste and portion of the food. I ordered the ribeye tacos. The taste was disappointing and the meat portion was small. The cucumber agua Fresca was bland and the salsa was watery with no taste. As someone who frequents this place often, I was super excited to hear they were reopening after closing during the pandemic. I had taken my dad before the pandemic and he thought the food was good, nothing to brag about. Took him there this past Saturday and he loved it. He tasted a difference in the food and noted the improvement. I truly enjoyed it as well, I got my usual Rib eye tacos Russo style (delicious)! One thing I would recommend Is changing the name of the meatless tortilla soup. It is not the same as before, this new one is more of a tomato fideo broth (thicker than the previous one). It was delicious, but I would recommend calling it a different name to not confused others who have ordered it in the past. Will be coming back often! read more
