Fried tilapia with French fries, salad topped with fresh avocado, and Spanish rice
    Thomas C.

I had the fried tilapia, soooo good!! What topped it off was the awesome service given by Gabby who took our order. Kept checking to see if we needed anything else and super friendly. I'll keep coming back.

    Fish Tacos

We absolutely love their Fried Fish or Shrimp Tacos. We go on Sunday for the Fish or Mondays for the Shrimp because they have price specials on those days. Super friendly workers and owner. Plentiful shrimp and fish with tacos and condiments. They're not stingy at all. Has outside seating with shade but we typically get ours to go. We travel from South Central just for these tacos. Totally worth it! We bought 25 Tacos today, lol.

6/26/24 Orden de aguachile. 9 camarones. Mitad cebolla y mitad camarón. Por $6.99. Que inche robo. Se pasan.

The food was okay. But some things are a rip-off like the order of agua chile. 9 fuqen shrimp for $6.99. It was half shrimp and half onion. Don't order this. Or order it with shrimp only. Tacos de camaron were $3.25 for 3 tiny shrimps on each taco. More veggies than anything. Cóctel de camaron was OK. Place disappointed. I'll stick with Tacos Baja in East L.A. I really tried with this spot but felt I got ripped off. Ponganle mas! Nos sean codos!

Been coming for years at this location. Great prices at good portions. Loved the value meals of fish tacos on Tuesdays/Sundays and I hear the shrimp tacos are great as well. Let me tell you about the Fish tacos: Its a well portioned deep fried crispy fish on two corn tortillas, topped with cabbage, onions, Diced tomato cilantro, Sour cream and a hot sauce, accompanied by a Chile. You can add radishes, lemon from outside the window. It's their signature item. Parking is ok and Bob's Freeze is right next door. On a hot sunny day, this is the place to go for a refreshing meal of ceviche, tostadas and fish tacos and ice cream for dessert next door. I give it 4 stars because they really need to update their Price signs. They have huge advertisements all over but they don't honor it because they've increased their prices. I understand the price of everything has gone up, just change the sign.

Prices and service was great. They just have to make sure they clean their shimp. I felt like I was eating aguanchiles con caca. Like what's the reason of cutting them open if ur leaving the guts.. not tasty at all.

Two fish tacos & shrimp taco.

Good & cheap! Tuesday & Sunday 99cent fish tacos. Also tried the marlin taco and shrimp taco but fish tacos definitely my fav!

The BEST fish tacos you'll ever have

Fish. Tacos. Amazing. Really, SO good! I was walking around trying to find a place to eat while my bf's car was getting fixed and we came across the ice cream stand attached to a taco place. I was only going to get ice cream, but I noticed that there was a deal that day for .99 fish tacos. I decided to get one to try it. Best decision I've ever made haha. I went back to get a second! The fish was really fresh and crispy. It came with the usual cabbage, white sauce, and pico. The hot salsa that came with it complimented it really well. I love spicy foods though so this was perfect, but if you can't handle spice I would get a different salsa! I can't wait to try the shrimp tacos. A woman who was there at the same time said that they were really good! The staff was extremely friendly! I usually don't care to write about customer service because I'm all about the food, but everyone was so sweet. I had to wait a bit, but it was worth it because the fish tacos were freshly fried. I will definitely be back! Love that they also have daily deals.

Tostada Super Mixta! So yummmy i loved it

Best $100.00 lunch I've had in a while. Worth every bite! Oysters fresh. Lightly sweet, paired well with cocktail and chimichurri sauce. Both cocktails were light on the palate with enough of a hit, not too sugary. Paired well with Oysters. The House Pan Roast. Without question I'd recommend to anyone who's visiting here the first time. I was originally going to settle for some market price lobster pasta but decided since everyone posted the House Pan Roast Steam the most might as well. Great choice regardless. Bartender Manager very professional. You feel taken care of. Ambiance without question excellent dine in atmosphere, very modern decor. So I just came back from a dispatch to Lansing Michigan and ate at one of their Seafood Boils...does not compare to this establishment in Temple City Los Angeles!!!

4.5 stars without hesitation! We were in the area and let Yelp decide our trifecta celebration (2…read moreGrads and a promotion) dinner fate, which led us straight to Kim Tar. Turns out Yelp was having a moment of brilliance. We rolled in with a full-on clan of 14 hungry young adults, and somehow everyone left happy, full, and already talking about what they'd order next time. Our table was stacked with garlic string beans, walnutshrimp, special fried rice, French beef and Lobster with pan-fried noodles. The shrimp was a crowd favorite, the noodles were loaded with flavor, and even the string beans earned plenty of compliments. My only tiny critique is that for me the walnut shrimp was a bit more breaded than I personally like, but that's a minor speed bump in an otherwise fantastic meal. Pro tip: ask them to bring the rice out first. The dishes are packed with bold, rich flavors, and having a bowl of rice ready lets you soak up every last delicious bite without feeling like you've gone ten rounds with a sodium ninja. The service was outstanding too; our servers teamed up and handled our group of 14 like pros, stayed attentive throughout the night, and never missed a beat. We separated the youngins and OGs in two close tables. We arrived about 3 hours before their 11 p.m. closing time on a busy Saturday, yet nobody made us feel rushed. It took 45 min to be seated and we stayed to closing. Er had so much fun in this VIP experience. The restaurant itself is spacious, tucked into a shopping center with plenty of parking, making it an easy choice for groups big or small. If Kim Tar can keep 14 people fed, smiling, and agreeing on dinner, that's practically a miracle. I'll definitely be back for another feast. Next time I'll have the 3 pound lobster just for me!

Love this place for my big family of 16 to 20 people…read more My family loves coming here for special occasions such as birthdays and holidays. We're a huge party that takes up 2 large tables. This place does a great job of accommodating our large party. The food is delicious! Lots of options for everyone's preferences. They have super quick and friendly service. These are some of our favorite dishes: Basil clams: fresh clams and fresh fragrant basil make this my mother in laws favorite. Deep fried tofu: such a comforting dish. Crunchy on the outside, silky tofu on the inside, plus a delicious dipping sauce. This is my favorite. Salt and pepper pork: savory and crunchy pork with tons of flavor. My nephews love this and we need to order multiple each time. Steamed chicken: simple but well made. The chicken is tender and incredibly juicy. My husband orders this each time. Fried calamari: crunchy yet very tender squid. The seasoning is peppery. Fried sole fish: super crunchy that we enjoy eating the fins. The inside is tender and juicy. And it has a good dipping sauce too. Lobster on a bed of noodles: great for garlic lovers. Love how fresh the Lobster is and the noodles are so fulfilling. Tip: pay by cash to avoid the credit card fees. Overall the prices are very competitive. It's one of the cheaper seafood restaurants while tasting phenomenal! Always great service, plenty of parking, and no wait.
