Used to be our go to order in for Chinese... until we actually at the actual location. It was filthy. Tables had that sticky, never really been properly scrubbed feeling, like all they had ever done was maybe wiped them down with bleach water. The staff was just kind of lazing around the front of house, not a great look, and the place was empty except for us. If this is how front of house looks, I shudder to think what the kitchen looks like, much less behind the equipment. No...I doubt we'll ever order from there again and frankly, it might not be a bad idea for an inspector, like one that's never been there, maybe no prior relationship with the place of you get my drift, does a good one over of this establishment. I have never left a review, and usually stay away from doing so, but I felt it necessary to share my experience today. I've eaten here a few times before and was impressed with the food initially, so I decided to order some for tonight. Well, when it got here the receipt stated that I had steamed rice but I recieved fried rice. So I thought, "okay thats a small thing, I'll just enjoy my meal"... problem with that was everything in my kung pao was raw, nothing in it was cooked properly, and the taste was horrible. I called them to see if I could get it refunded or have a new order in its place, but I was told to lie and say that my doordasher never delivered it. I told the owner that was unacceptable and they laughed and said, "say whenever you want instead." This is low on many levels, lying like that could get the driver in trouble, potentially even making them be charged for the meal instead of the restaurant taking responsibility for their error. There was no apology or remorse for the mistakes within my order, I just got laughed at like an idiot because I didnt want to commit fraud. Safe to say, I won't ever be ordering from here again. TL;Dr: Spicy House will lie about your order to the magnitude of hours and offer 0 service to remedy the issue or even address it. You deserve better. After ordering on the phone and showing up a few minutes before my order is due I run into a crowd. One has waited an hour, one waited two hours. I called half an hour ago. They knew. I watched as door dash orders came in and we're done first. People were sat down and served. I waited an hour, was not addressed once, and left. I'll never be back. read more

After a few years in Longmont, trying many Chinese/Asian restaurants, I had really given up on finding a Chinese restaurant that I liked; until going to Spicy House. We arrived in the parking lot to see only one car and upon entering, one small family was dining inside the restaurant. Otherwise, the restaurant so empty... and it made me a bit worried. In addition, the restaurant is lacking any decor, looks like it's run-down and the windows haven't been washed in ages! They were so bad that I had a hard time even trying to identify the name of the street to the East of the restaurant even though it was probably only 25 feet away! So, it made us a little leary about the cleanliness of the kitchen and restroom facilities. However, we took a chance. My father, (He's 96) ordered spring rolls but didn't differentiate that he wanted Vietnamese fresh Spring Rolls and I wasn't there when he ordered, so we instead received 2 Spring Rolls/Egg rolls the size of my thumb that were definitely not fresh or Vietnamese. (I'm not sure if it was my father's mistake or a just a language barrier) Sigh. The rolls were mediocre with sweet fuchsia-colored sweet sause; the type you get with ehh rolls. Since they were so small, we figured that serving sizes were small and ordered more than we normally would order... Crispy Duck, which was very good, Pan Fried Noodles with shrimp and Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, all were very tasty. The serving size of our entreés was copious and we felt like gluttons with so much food in front of us. Each dish was delicious and better than I had expected. I hope it's not just that I was very hungry and because my father's taste buds are aging as well! I would have given them a higher score, but the restaurant as I've written about the windows. And also, the glass covered service bar at the front which was closed (probably due to CoVid) was haphazardly had carelessly blocked without care of aesthetics, with white paper, and a small take-out table with utensils and take-out menus placed next to a cash register. We couldn't see the kitchen except for a small window and we even commented on the drive home that we hoped that the kitchen was cleaner than the dining room! It's been hours since dinner and we haven't gotten sick, so They do free delivery with a $15 order, and if you look at the back of the take-out me, there's deals for a free appetizer with a $30 and $50 purchase. read more

This is easily the worst take out Chinese I've ever had. Everything was chewy and felt like it was made hours ago. The shrimp was too "shrimpy" in a bad way and the walnut sauce was a tangy sour flavor. It tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. We threw that away. The best dish was the general tso chicken but still a bit chewy to convince me it's fresh and the crab Rangoon were also chewy even though they had an outer appearance of being fried. I found this place by accident. It's a tiny restaurant and looks run down. Drove by it once or twice but decided to give it a try. Customer service is excellent. They are very nice and courteous. Ordered from here for delivery and while it arrived much quicker than expected, the order wasn't correct. We ordered the General Tso Chicken, spicy and Orange Chicken, mild. What we got appears and tastes both like Orange Chicken, mild. I contacted the restaurant through GrubHub and the refused to refund the order. Disappointing considering the food we received was good and I would look forward to ordering from this restaurant again, the lack in quality of customer service and acknowledgement of making the wrong order, isn't a restaurant I would consider again. The taste of the Mongolian beef was okay, it masked the plain tasting rice and gave it flavor. And the fried bread rolls sucked! Did they confuse it with egg custard buns?? Not sure, check the pictures but I wasn't sure what fried bread rolls would be anyhow. We honestly just added it to go over $30 for the free crab cheese wontons, which were mediocre. The pad thai was ALRIGHT, my bf rated it a 3 outta 5. He said it had decent flavor but the noodles were a bit hard. I mean I picked this place because it had good reviews and the review picture of the Mongolian beef looked good! But everything was pretty okay, minus the fried rice and bread rolls. Insanely bland. I heard a lot of good things about this place so I was excited to order from here. We got the wonton soup (soup tastes like plastic and wontons are suuuupper mushy filled with a chunk of chicken), crab cheese wontons aren't the best and the sweet and sour sauce is just sweet sauce with red food dye. We came here based on the good reviews but unfortunately this is one of the few times Yelp has led me astray :( I never ever give bad reviews so sorry!! There wasn't a single other customer there at 630 on a Saturday night which should have been a giveaway. We got a soup and wontons to start, but had a few questions regarding our main dish. The waitress didn't know anything! There was something called "Happy Family" and I asked what was in it, since the menu has zero description. She flat out said she didn't know. I asked about something else and she said "oh! I can definitely help you with that one. It has chicken....... and i think... i think shrimp? I THINK." Go ask someone if you don't know! Had a very good lunch the other day. I had Spicy House Chicken, chicken in a medium spicy sauce over a bunch baby bok choy. It came with Wonton soup, an egg roll and fried rice. I have to say, it was not a great choice for me because I don't like bok choy. The waitress described it, but I ordered it anyway. Regardless, the chicken and sauce were very good and the rice was good too. The bok choy was probably good too, I just find it too bitter. Ordered online through their "qmenu" portal. I arrived when my order was supposed to be ready, they said they did not have my order. I showed them the confirmation through the website. They did not even offer to re-take my order or make my food! They just said "sorry about that, we didn't get your order," and went about as though it wasn't their problem. Now I'm angry, hungry, and leaving empty-handed -- I guess I'm going somewhere else now. This was a terrible idea for us. The food looks terrible..and its tasteless. Longmont has some remarkably bad restaurants, but this is the worst so far. We got the big apptiser sampler, the ribs are some ungodly maroon color, and are tough with no favor. The crab rangoon wontons are also tasteless. The egg foo yung is a single tan patty. I've eaten chinese takeout from Chicago to San Diego. Egg rolls? Awful. The shrimp? Mushy. Nope. orange chicken. For Chinese food in Colorado it was pretty good. That being said that cuisine is generally not a good gamble for some reason in this state. We have had bordering on inedible meals at several Chinese restaurants in this state. We were coming back from Fort Collins and I did a yelp search and this came up. Upon entering it smelled very good. It is a bit dated in the interior. The entrees are cheap and include soup. We had the spicy chicken, which I cannot remember the name of- it may of been inferno. It is a stir fry dish with chicken jalapeños and snow peas- very good. We also had sweet and sour chicken which was acceptable. The wonton and hot and sour soups were very good. We also had the veggie egg rolls. For the size three people not two could dine on two entrees. The fried rice which was complimentary was my least favorite part of the meal. In town on business, I stopped by here tonight for a quick dinner. Wednesday night, around 6pm. One waitress working with three tables occupied (including me). Food - 4 STARS! This was a great meal. Had the egg rolls, hot & sour soup and three treasure kung pao. The entree was huge. I'm a big man and could not eat it all. Lots of fresh veggies. The egg rolls were not greasy! Great soup! Service - 3 STARS. I had to steal a set of silverware and a napkin from another table. Service was fast and my drink was kept full. Dining Room - 2 Stars. I was dining alone. So, no big deal. Not place I would take someone other than family. This place is a converted fast food establishment I guess. It is plain and a little junky. But, it is clean. They do a great deal of take out. I told him and I waited a few minutes and did not have a knock at the door. (like Amazon). I opened my door and found my food on my dirty apartment hallway floor! I called him and he said he knocked. My husband and I are really big fans of Spicy house! We've tried a variety of items and everything has been great- General Tso's chicken, sesame chicken, curry veggies, and I think the drunken noodles. All the dishes are super hot when they come out, tasty, and their veggies are phenomenal. ALSO we've only eaten AT the restaurant. Worst Chinese in town... and that's a feat! So I ordered the Spicy House Chicken for take out. There are no item descriptions on the menu as is typical with Chinese food so I was taking a shot in the dark. The food tastes and smells like someone added a dollop of dish soap to it. I thought maybe some idiot used dish soap to wash the vegetables. I stupidly ate some and my mouth started tingling. I immediately called the restaurant back to notify them. The employee who answered said that the flavor was 'saimese peppercorn' or some nonsense. I said 'but it tastes like soap'. He repeated very slowly that 'it was the pepercorn' because clearly I was dense in the head for taking offense to a flavor of detergent in my dinner. He said some people construe it as soap.... How nice! So it's supposed to be that way. I said it would have been nice to have a warning on the menu. Needless to say, I won't be spending any more money there. My father who had the Cashew Chicken had no complaints. If you like the flavor of detergent in your food or you don't mind taking the risk then have at it. read more

Yay! They have improved the rice. Dine in again and the phone never stopped ringing. People kept coming inside to eat. Only thing I would say is that it did smell a bit weird when we walked in, like a gas leak. But I didn't smell it anymore once we sat down to eat. Great price for what we received, amazing freshness.
