I came in with pretty low expectations, due to people saying that Tokyo Joe's is not good, but I thought it was pretty good. It's definitely not the best poke I've ever had, but it's pretty good for the price. Fish was pretty fresh, was not expensive. I do think the crab salad, or the crab mix as they call it, should be one of the options to add into the poke. Without an extra charge, it's a little stingy to charge one dollar per scoop on something that's so cheap, we all know it's not actual crab, with that said it was pretty good too. I recently started going to the Wadsworth, Westminster location but have gone to Tokyo Joes for many years. Castle Rock location was my favorite. Manager and employees were wonderful. This location appears to be the same, very nice employees and Shane in particular, made me the best chicken, avocado and cucumber roll from the small bites menu, that I have ever had at this restaurant. I really wanted to love this location, especially during the pandemic. It's in a great area, close to my house and has a great array of food. Unfortunately I have ordered out here by myself and with my boyfriend 20+ times the past 8 months and there is ALWAYS something missing or something wrong 9 times out of 10. Usually our extra protein, protein all together or avocado is missing. The meats have been under or over cooked more times than not. The sushi is hit and miss, it falls apart and the quality is all over the place. I love the other Tokyo Joe's locations, and I've continued to keep giving this one a chance. This was my second visit. The first time I really enjoyed the food and the service was very good. This time not so good. The cashier had an attitude and acted like we were bothering her. After ordering the next challenge was to find a clean table - that didn't go well so we chose the patio. It was a nice day and the swatting if the flies and wasps kept us entertained while we waited what seemed like an eternity for our food. Finally we got served someone else's order. The server was nice about it and promptly addressed it. I like the sauces and everything tasted fresh. I ordered the carb free bowl with twice the veggies but my bowl had half the veggies of the other bowl ordered. Perhaps this is the new math. I'm not the kind of person to bring up a messed up order and definitely not write a negative review but this needs to be heard. My husband and I ordered curbside pickup and brought home our bowls, I ordered the Ahi Tuna Poke bowl with avocado. When I open mine up, no Ahi Tuna or avocado (and yes of course I triple check in discouragement). I seriously hate calling an establishment but I wasn't sure what to do as there was no protein in the bowl! So I called just stating that there was no protein in my meal and what I should do? They transferred me to the MANAGER and she says, "oh I made that bowl myself you need to check it." I tell her I'm looking at it right now, so I need to bring it back? She says they don't except food back... ok well should I come back to at least show you? "Yeah sure." I get there and I was pretty polite, the guy said they can't except the food back. Then I see a lady shove a container of the ahi tuna and avocado at me and said absolutely nothing! I don't know if she thought I was lying about not getting my complete meal or if she is the rudest person in the world but I'm very unhappy with this service! I just said thank you and left. My husband has chronic kidney disease. He has to be SO careful with sodium. Tokyo Joe's has two sauces that work for him, Yellow Curry and Green Dragon. I'm grateful the brown rice is not cooked with salt, like a lot of places do. Tokyo Joe's is one of the few "Fast Casual Healthy" restaurants with options that control sodium. Very inaccurate to call this Japanese food. It's Americanized fast food with a distant nod to Japan. Mojo bowl too sweet, way too sweet, and the long blonde hair in companion's food was not a welcome bit of protein. My Thai Noodle Bowl with overcooked shrimp enrobbed in an again way too sweet sauce was uninspired, and in no way echoed the delicate flavors of Japan. I unfortunately notice a prevalence of 4 star reviews, for many restaurants in Longmont, and can only conclude that most Longmonters know nothing about good food. read more

Every time that I've gone to this Tokyo Joe's, they have been very professional, friendly and prompt with the orders. The food is flavorful and filling, and there is a nice variety. I like that the salmon is wild salmon, and they have a lot of gluten-free sauces and options. They seem to take food sensitivities and allergies seriously, which is greatly appreciated and important. I have always left looking forward to returning to eat here. Everyone that has gone there with me to eat has enjoyed this Tokyo Joe's location, also! We eat at the TJ locations in Denver, Westminster and Arvada. This was disappointing in comparison. We were told sushi would be 20 mins, but had we known our bowls would be 30 it wouldn't have been a problem. When we got our bowls they were completely cold. This is the best Tokyo Joe's within 50 miles I'm guessing. I've tried the one on Lincoln St. downtown Denver, the one on S. Colorado Blvd., the Arvada location on Wadsworth, 120th & Huron and this Longmont location. This is the best by far. My personal favorite on the menu is the Cali Tartare roll. Though I believe the name has changed but ingredients the same. Today is the 20th birthday of Tokyo Joe's and I'm celebrating with them. Yummmmie! I am thrilled that Tokyo Joe's is in Longmont and we've been happy with our experiences the few times we've been since they opened.. I usually get the white chicken with brown rice bowl with sauces on the side - and a bunch of veggies. It's always plenty of food - though it seems to vary a bit on the rice to chicken ratio; sometimes more of one and less of the other, but still a good value. The boyfriend is a bit more adventurous; he seemed most pleased with the salmon bowl. TONS of salmon!! He also recently tried one of their bowls - Joe's Noodle Bowl maybe? There was plenty of stuff in it but he said the broth was really salty and a bit...soy sauce-y perhaps? I think he was expecting something a bit more miso-y so maybe that's on him. I'll say that their sushi is pretty good too...probably not the best sushi you'll ever have but it's quick and affordable and tasty. read more

Sushi rolls come not rolled, falling apart and sometimes not even including the main ingredients. We had to place a special sushi order due to allergies and we had to repeat our order multiple times and it still came incorrect. Then the cashier turned out around right in front of us to complain about having to ring in a special order. Also ordered a poke bowl and it came insanely spicy even though I had not ordered anything spicy on it. I work at the Sunflower Spa just down the street and I am overjoyed they have this "fast food" option near my work. There are many foods I can not eat due to allergies and sensitivities, I stick with lean meats and vegetables as often as I can. Really this is not fast food because the veggies are fresh and crisp and the meats and fish are lean. I have enjoyed their salads, their stir fry bowls, their sushi, their chicken skewers, their spring rolls and I have never been disappointed. When working a long shift I need fuel and I leave here re-energized and ready to work a few more hours. My favorites are the YO sushi and the spring rolls that are like a salad in rice paper, never fried. Their spicy chicken soup is great on a cold winters night and its GF! Something else I really dig about this place is the staff is great. Friendly, prompt, courteous and clear. I am deaf and once in a while they need to write a special or something for me and they always do. I really appreciate that. Its interesting because the staff is patently young so I didn't have high expectations for service but they have all been great every time I go there and I go a lot:) The last thing is for what you pay you get a lot and high quality food.
