A driving through Longmont and decided to stop here for a quick bite before heading back to Denver. I had the Egg Drop Soup and Vegetable Egg Rolls, delicious! My wife had the Fried Rice Combo, and said it was one of the better fried rice dishes she had in past. Very fresh, perfectly cooked and not oily like other asian restaurants. Tasty Asia is our go-to place for delivery. Their delivery is fast, their portions are large and it's Asian, but we're not gourmets and we like it as it is, without reference to what you might find in a restaurant in Chicago, Los Angeles or Seattle. We usually order Mongolian Beef, Sechuan Pork and Pad Thai with chicken. We add Sesame Chicken when we have guests. Nobody really complains. Frankly, the Pad Thai doesn't resemble real Pad Thai and they need to work on improving that. Still, I like their Pad Thai for what it is and I no longer try to compare it to "real" Pad Thai from a specialty Thai restaurant. The food is quite variable in flavor from time-to-time from bland to spicy, but it's mostly okay, which is all you can ask from a reliable delivery place with good portions and reasonable prices. The delivery guy is always polite, and they've never really messed-up our order in over (at least!) 50 times we've ordered from them. I don't understand some of the negative reviews posted. This is a small, local place, and the food is good in that context. They always say on the phone that the food will arrive in 40 minutes and it usually arrives in about 20 minutes. I ordered for delivery, egg foo yong and Vietnamese spring rolls with extra peanut sauce. The delivery was prompt and friendly in a big paper shopping bag with a square cardboard in the bottom to keep it square. So much nicer than plastic bags. It may have been the best egg foo yong I've ever had. Lots of fresh vegetables in the delicious sauce. Huge servings too. The spring rolls were also fresh and delicious and huge. read more

So, I've tried this place 3 times now and everytime I say I will not be back. The 3rd time I was in a rush so i ordered to go. The Szechuan pork sounded worth a try. Boy what a mistake. I picked up my order, and as usual, the staff was just okay friendly. I picked up my order then drove to a park a few miles away to eat. For one, they gave me chicken, not pork like I had ordered. I was sort of expecting pieces of pork, but again it was chicken, and they sliced the chicken into super tiny matchstick slices. The slices were so thin it was hard to tell the difference between the matchstick sliced bamboo shoots, and the very little amount of meat. Same with what tasted like a frozen egg-roll and the watered down wonton soup had a funky flavor. Well, 3 strikes and you're out Tasty Asia! Constantly getting shortchanged on my order. When you mention it you get looked at like you did something wrong. Unpleasant experience at best. Asian Affair Driving by Tasty Asia countless times on Main Street and receiving coupons in the mail peaked my curiosity. I was able to finally give them a shot one night when the family was in town. We didn't want to cook or drive and pizza wasn't going to do it for us this time. So, I decided to mention this place. The fact that they deliver sealed the deal! There is a minimum of $12 and a 4 mile radius for that service. We searched through the menu that they conveniently mail over with coupons. This is what we ordered: *Szechuan Eggplant: I loved it since I'm an eggplant kinna gal. I like the spiciness (though I always add more) but I could have done without the other veggies. Mental note for next time. *Egg drop soup & Miso: Didn't try these but they looked fairly standard. *Crispy salt & pepper shrimp: I was a little bummed that it wasn't very authentic. They were headless and I sure like to suck on those (HAH). It isn't like how they prepare it back in Cali (or good Chinese restaurants). Living near the coast sure had it's perks :( *Shrimp with Veggies: We asked for this one spicy. It was okay. Saucy and most likely used bagged frozen shrimp you'd find at... Walmart. * Cream Cheese Wontons: Stuffed wonton wrappers that are deep fried. Hard to mess up. Not bad at all! *Beef & Chicken dish: I had neither but the family enjoyed them. *Chinese Donuts: I knew what I was getting into so I made two orders of this stuff. Thankfully they did a descent job and my kids loved them. *Free Chicken Teriyaki Skewers: I used one of the coupons (with a purchase of $50 or more). It was super dry and lacked any sauce or flavor. Could have gone without redeeming. *Fried wonton chips: Definitely fried. Came with sweet & sour dipping sauce. Everything was good and average, but it wasn't the type of meal that makes you want it again. I don't think I'll be back. Just ordered takeout here for the first time. When we arrived, their phone was ringing off the hook, which we took as a good sign. Our dinner for two included wonton soup, vegetarian egg rolls, crab rangoon, orange chicken and kung pao shrimp. We also requested Szechwan vegetables--it's not on the menu, but they graciously accommodated the request and created a very nice dish on the fly. (Definitely recommend!) Food tasted like a greasy mess. Looked the same. Posted pictures. This is low quality food with the same amount of care going into it. Probably came from frozen and shelf packages. They may be asian style and have asian employees but this food is far off from what you would expect. Maybe the first mistake was thinking asian food in longmont... it could work and taste good... nope. The only thing i liked about all of the food I got was the 2 chicken wings. They had the most flavor even tho they looked horrible and i was worried about getting sick from them. We ordered a 20$ dinner meal thing where you choose your dishs ect. I dont remember what it was called. But the rice wasnt good. My main dish was like a garlic pork i think was just a ton of peppers and some pork in some nasty liquid type sauce. Eggs rolls tasted like fried eggs rolls i could get from any grocery store. Noodles lacked flavor even tho they looked greasy as hell. The entire meal was a huge let down and the way it looked was the way it tasted pretty much. Slap more grease and call it good i guess? Also the inside of this place is horribly small and sad. Parking is bad if its busy too. The good: They did give alot of bad food to me. They werent greedy on that part and the price was on mark. But the food was so bad I will never pay or go again sadly. I've tried a few Chinese restaurants in the county before getting delivery here. It's by far better than all the others. Food arrived hot and fast. It was a large order and everything was correct. Food wasn't greasy. The quality of the beef and chicken in the dishes was better than other local restaurants as well. All in all, it was good value for the money. Okay so not the greatest but not horrible. My food was way better than Spicy house. We ordered pork fried rice and chicken wings, dumplings, and cream cheese wontons. First they left out the wontons but credited our account so i was fine with that! (Actually picked up the next day) The rice had flavor but the pork was this long breaded squiggling things. I always ate the pork fried rice as little cubed pork pieces. Also the chicken wings (you get 6) are flats and drums. Like I'm use to the whole wing with those two attached. So you're kinda getting ripped off since they detach them and count it as 1 piece. Everything else was just mediocre. I guess my Chinese food standards are too high. Once you have Chinese food from NY/NJ it's never the same anywhere else. read more
