Well its been 5 months since I've been here last and a couple things changed for the good, and a couple for the bad. I'll start on the bad note...my eggs Benedict was a little under par. The hallondaise sauce on top was cold, and my home fries weren't well-done as I requested. They forgot to bring my boyfriends side of home fries...and when they did, AGAIN they weren't well-done as he requested. The coffee was extemely bitter...I agree with another reviewer in the fact that they need to switch up their blend! I will return, but it may be another 5 months because of these issues. I'll end on a good note with their good changes. They have nice potted flower pots around their patio area which they needed before. It looks cozier and more inviting now. And the food is still prepared with TLC...they just need to make sure everything that goes out of the kitchen is the way the patron specified it. read more

Staff was super friendly! We were a party of four and everyone's meal was absolutely delicious! We will definitely be eating here again on our next trip to Ocean Ridge. Read the Yelp page while driving through on Route 1 from West Palm Beach to Fort Lauderdale. Had great marks and turned around 3 miles to go for breakfast. I was not mislead. This had to be one of the best breakfasts of my 2 week vacation in Florida. It is a tiny spot on the corner with less than 6 tables inside, more seating outside. The Quiche (broc.ched, bacon) was really on point. It was hearty and savory with the right amount of cheese for me. The coffee was so good and they make French Press if you like Hi-test. My Hubs had typical eggs/bacon/home fries and loved them, especially the potatoes which were well-done as ordered (something people never seem to get right when we go out for breakfast). And we ordered the cinnamon roll with bacon and gooey sauce - a flavor bomb in your diabetic heart. Thank god we shared because I was stuffed! Will go again if I am ever in the area. Can't put into words how perfect this cafe was for a midday Sunday meal. We were looking specifically for brunch, somewhere with a small cafe feel and what we found at East Ocean Cafe was way more than we could have asked for. We were immediately greeted by the most joyful host, the owner I assumed, who told us to sit where ever we wanted! We opted for inside seating, although the outdoor patio looked super comfy and we made a promise to grab seats there next time! Our waitress was a little all over the place - she was the only one on the floor and since it was out first time, we didn't mind waiting a few extra minutes at all. She was so friendly, explained all the specials to us and added that if we wanted something we didn't see on the menu, the chef would make it anyways! This time however, we decided to stick to the menu. I ordered one of the specials, pumpkin pancakes with 2 eggs and bacon (ONLY $6.50!!!) while my boyfriend ordered the spanish omelette with homefries and wheat toast (ONLY $7.50!!!). The pumpkin pancakes tasted like grandma's pumpkin pie and were fluffier than the clouds in the sky, no sarcasm at all. The bacon was thick and sweet, and the eggs tasted so fresh! The spanish omelette was cooked perfectly and the egg-to-veggie ratio was a 10/10. The homefries had an almost sweet taste to them and perfectly complimented the omelette, I tried so hard to not steal them all, but the plate-sized pancakes kept me extremely busy. The entire experience was perfect, the food was so delicious and the laid back atmosphere was perfect for a lazy Sunday. The bonus of the entire after was our under $15 bill. How ridiculous is that! As recent transplants to South Florida from Ohio, we have a hard time finding restaurants with "reasonable" prices that we can see ourselves eating at on a regular basis, but I think we just found out regular spot! I finally scheduled a lunch meeting with intentions to enjoy the splendid patio but it was just too hot of a mid-July afternoon to stay outside. The inside is just a basic diner, however. The menu was pretty basic for a florida diner, meatloaf, chicken fingers, chicken caesar wrap etc. I ordered the chicken caesar wrap which was tasty. My friend ordered the meatloaf with extra gravy on top (the owners' mother's recipe) and he was pleased. Breakfast is my favorite meal and I have finally found the best one ever. We drove from West Palm to try this out on a Saturday morning. The atmosphere is eclectic with a small-town feel. There is an outside seating area as well. Everything was cooked to perfection. My favorite was the steel cut oats which took me back in time to my grandmother's kitchen table. Let's start off with the food: it was fresh and delicious. Nothing fancy, but it was good. Service: awful. We arrived at 12:00pm. Clearly they had been through a busy service. Our table was wiped down and cleaned for us to sit at. The waitress brought us coffee almost immediately. At 12:30pm I went up to the counter and asked (the same) waitress if someone could take our order. She apologized profusely and said she had "completely forgotten about us". She came and took our order with huge apologies. 22minutes later (by this time it was 12:57pm) our order arrived. Summation: Worth giving this adorable restaurant another try - their reviews are good and the food was fresh and tasty. Perhaps they were having a tough day? Love to go to local places when we choose to eat out rather than the chains. East Ocean Café was good - but not great and mostly seemed to be a service issue. We arrived on Saturday morning to find the place pretty full outside but had room inside. We sat and the servers kept promising they'd be right with us. We only had an hour to order and eat. After 10 minutes, we were thinking about leaving to head to a Dunkies but stayed when our order was taken and our waitress brought our coffee. When our food came she asked if we needed anything else - yup - how about some silverware & butter. Scrambled eggs were overcooked, French toast was undercooked though had good flavor, home fries were good. Two other tables near us got up and left due to poor service and we overheard one man say he's never come back as this had happened to him before. They might have been short staffed - but it seemed like they were just disorganized. There are lots of good and local breakfast places in and around Boynton - I'd go elsewhere. read more

I came here with a very large group of 14 with my family but we called ahead of time and they were more than willing to accommodate us! Cindy and Paige were especially helpful and even though we had three kids who were being quite a handful they were very kind and always checked up on us. They even gave us a kid's table and coloring books to entertain them! I had the eggs Benedict with crab cakes which was a special and it was delicious. I also loved the coffee which was a Kona blend.
