Pure garbage this place I wouldn't wish on my worst enemies. 40 minutes of wait for spaghetti and meatballs and non service. Only to get food that is inedible. Undercooked broccoli and vegetables soggy cutlets soaked in lemon water pretending to be sauce. Overall don't go here unless you want bad food with bad service. It's beyond terrible.

Why have this on the front of your website when I cannot order it?????

Lunch was very disappointing this time! I asked about the AYCE Wed Pasta and was informed by the server it's not available which is a surprise since I see it on the front page of their website. I ended up ordering a regular lunch item and it was SMALL. It's like a kids meal size lol....and no side dishes (unless u count the garlic bread). I will give the food quality a decent grade but the quantity was really, really TINY. We left half full....if we were able to order the webadvertised AYCE Pasta that would not be the case!!

I never had a desire to dine at ESM as I didn't have fond memories of the food however due to desperation, we came here to watch game 5 of the NBA finals. Who would have thought they had a big screen TV and the place was empty on game night while all the other bars in aurora are fully booked. To our good fortune, we got a table in the bar area right in front of the big screen. Our waitress was super efficient and nice. I saw her wait on all the tables in the bar area and tend to the bar. Even when the raptors fans came trickle in at 8:30pm and all the tables were taken, she didn't drop the ball once. She definitely deserve employee of the month but unfortunately I didn't catch her name. Now on to the food, I ordered the Hell's chicken which came with steam veggies and your choice of carb. I chose the minestrone soup to start, it is unlimited but after the first taste, I'm ok with just half a bowl. It tasted like soup that came out of a can, not very good. My main was decent, the chicken was a bit spicy for my liking and the texture of the chicken was a bit off but edible. For dessert, I ordered the fried donuts which isn't bad. I don't think I would come back here for food.

Last time I went to an East Side Mario's was also my very first time and that was about 4 years ago now... Dinner was swell and all, but when it was our time to get the bill, we waited over an hour for us to get our receipts sorted and another half an hour to pay for a group of 14. This time, the host of this party of 12 chose this place, because of its family appeal and choice of AYCE soup or salad. Shockingly, even though we had called ahead of time for reservation..., my friend still had to wait for over an hour to get us a table for our party. Wow! I would have never been this patient myself! But since I barely had to wait myself, I will give this place a 5, because it's not always easy to find somewhere to host a party for 12 or more and still be affordable or not at least having one person complaint about anything. This location is in Aurora so it was quite a trek for us since we lived in Scarborough, but the experience was a lot bigger than expected, besides the long wait for a table. The decor and ambience is typical of an American chain restaurant with a mix of tables and booths with multiple TVs showing sports games. The food quality and value were both very children and family/large party friendly. Calories for every item was clearly labelled. Everything seemed to be quite healthy especially with the choice of AYCE soup to keep you warm and hydrated or AYCE salad that keeps you cool and refreshed. For value meals between $12-$20 this is highly affordable and budget-friendly! Each bowl of salad was sizeable, too, and they let you take any remainders home as well! How nice is that! There were many American and Italian classics like Mac & Cheese, burgers, wings, spaghetti or pastas, pizzas and sandwiches to choose from. The calamari were not too deep fried nor crusty. Most food had the right amount of flavours and/or spice. Waitresses would come and add cheese to just about anything and everything you desire it on. They would refill your soups and salads as many times as needed. I can totally see myself bringing my future children here. Pairs can share a healthy balanced meal with soup and salad. My friends and I all enjoyed our time here. The only caveat was the long waiting time and the occasional need to remind our waitress for more soups and/or salads, but our main waitress did a good job, so even though 12% tips were already autograbbed for our party of 12, as to be expected, I still added another 3% tips on to my final payment, which I rarely do. Now, the reason why I personally would give a 5 star was that upon showing my Scotiabank card that's already connected to my scene card, I got 30xs the points due to the loaded offer that I had! Sweet! What could be better than a having an affordable and tasty meal with friends and earning points for future movies and get-together?! Family-friendly indeed!

SOOOO.... We went on a Wednesday night, opt in for the AYCE pasta, but the server was so nice to tell us what the AYCE pasta was all about. Basically, you paid the $12-13 for ONLY THE NOODLE AND SAUCE. If you want protein/ veggie, the first plate you pay $4 extra, the next $3 so on and so forth. As usual, AYCE salad/ soup was included but cannot alternate between the two (ex. if you opt in for salad, you can pick either garden/ Cesar and cannot choose soup in your next round). We still chose AYCE, paid the extra $4 for a protein in our first round only. My boyfriend ended up eating 4 plates LOL. Before you ask, YES you can ask for your last plate of pasta as to-go.

How the mighty have fallen, I used to remember being hyped up on going to East Side Mario's as a treat with my parents, get some yummy pasta and infinite bread and salad to go with it. Yeah sure u still get the all u can eat bread and salad with your meal, but meh. Last few times I've gone the service was crazy slow when it wasn't even busy, in the warmer months there was a bunnnch of fruit flies around , and they gross me out , and that's not cool dude. Prices are okayyyyyish but heck, last time I went and got the baked penne Alfredo it came out cold and with verry little sauce, the cheese on top had literally chilled back to a non melty state, like comonnnn there seems to be less and less locations of ESM to go to, there must be a reason.... Don't blame Boston Pizza for taking your market share, step up your game cuz its only downhill from here as I seez it. Meh, don't bother going here. I'm finished with it now.

Second time coming here with my coworkers and got the spaghetti lunch special for $10. The lunch portion is definitely smaller so you pay for what you get. The pasta is mediocre. I have certainly tried better pastas in other American chains. The pasta I had was more in the oily side. The service here is very attentive. The waiter came to check up on us and asked us if we wanted more bread.

My friends and I went to eat here on a Thursday night and the place was super packed. We waited about 20 minutes to get a table, which was understandable since they were that busy. When we got seated our waiter was extremely friendly! I was amazed by how nice he was and he definitely made the overall experience more enjoyable. The food was also really good! The portions were just right and I loved how they served us bread while we waited.

Great place! The updated look works 4 them. Food is finally up to par.

Tip: The roast beef is here for a limited time. It's delicious. Get it!…read more Years ago, I spent a lot of time in Aurora. Before Yelp was a thing in my world, I dined at this Swiss Chalet, which is in the same box store plaza as Best Buy, LCBO, and Dollarama. Last Saturday, I returned to this plaza. It has changed a lot over the decades. Gone was the Starbucks that I used to frequent. However, this Swiss Chalet endures and I'm glad. I decided to do takeout for dinner. I've never done takeout from this place. I like firsts. I ordered online to get Scene points and these items: - Roast beef dinner, with veggies, garlic green beans, chalet sauce, and a roll - Apple pie slice My pie slice of choice is lemon meringue. I saw that apple was new, so I changed things up. I got a notification that my order would be ready in fifteen minutes. It allowed me to get bubble tea from Gong Cha across from this restaurant. There was lots of parking in front of this eatery, including designated spots for curbside pickup. I ended up parking in a regular spot and walked in. The takeout spot is on the left. I noticed a man sitting down, waiting for his order. He looked comfy! I waited till a man came out of the kitchen. I said that I had a pickup order and rattled off my first name. He took my two items from an insulated bag and handed them to me. So great! I thanked the man and wished him a great day. He reciprocated. I headed to my car and placed my items in my own insulated bag. I then drove home to have dinner. My food remained hot. I loved the roast beef so much. It was tender and flavourful. The beef gravy was amazing with rich beef flavour. I wish that I got that as the side sauce than the chalet sauce for chicken. I ended up sopping up the gravy with the roll and dipping it into my chalet sauce. This dinner came with veggies that I enjoy. They were perfectly done. I also loved the garlic green beans, which is one of my favourite sides. It looked like staff threw them on top of everything as if it were a massive garnish. I will say that mixing everything together made everything taste even better. Who knew?! The apple pie was fabulous to cap off my meal. I got huge chunks of apple with the right amount of cinnamon flavour. I loved it. I don't think I've had a pie slice that I didn't like from Swiss Chalet. I had a great experience. I wish that the roast beef was on the menu all the time. It's yummy. I'm salivating. I want more. (215)

When we first stepped inside it felt like we had travelled back in time a few decades. Not that this is always a bad thing. It wasn't what you'd call run down. But it just looked somewhat dated, and the initial smell was that of a smoke soaked bar from the 80's. Whatever the case though; we took our seats and gave it a shot. I should also mention that what prompted us to try Big Daddy's out was a Groupon. And it seemed like an amazing deal. A regular order of wings, two entrees (there was a choice of about 10; something for everyone), and two beers, for $30. By menu prices (which were about average), the lot would have cost a touch over $60. Anyway: to the food. The wings were a 100% fail in almost every way. They were tiny, the sauce was difficult to even taste, and this was most likely the case because they were well over cooked. They seemed oven baked, and so they could have been out of the oven quite a few minutes before they were. The only saving grace was the fries - although they were just frozen fries that I can assume anyone can deep fry. Next was the chicken Parmesan. After the disappointing wings, I was surprised to learn that this dish was very good. The pasta was cooked well, the chicken was tender and juicy, and even the garlic bread was perfect. This I would go back for. Then there was the Greek Chicken Souvlaki dinner. And we're back to a miss again. The salad was okay (better once the forgotten salad dressing was delivered), and again the potato offering was well cooked (again, seemed like another type of frozen wedges deep fried), the rice was a mix of overcooked mush mixed with crunchy bits, and the chicken; yup, you guessed it, quite overcooked, just like the wings. I would have been embarrassed to serve this if I were them. The beer was good and okay. Good that there were many selections on tap, okay that although I got a beer i really liked, it wasn't as cold as I would expect to get a beer in a bar. Service was competent. The name of the only one waiting tables that time of day was Alex, and she certainly kept herself busy with the few tables she was taking care of. We did wait for about 10 minutes after finishing our meals to get the bill, and we were a little taken aback with the reminder that we were supposed to tip on what the bill would have been, not just on what we had accrued outside the Groupon. I'm sure she'd been burned before to have it come to this, but either way it felt uncomfortable, especially combined with her complaints of past poor treatment and a poor review of her waitressing skills from a recent customer. The place does seem interesting though: a bit of a throwback, but in a good way. Live music was setting up as we ate, there were pool tables off to the side, and they advertised a number of shows and other activities coming up. I think it'll be worth a second look; but next time we'll be very careful what we order

Upon entering, you'll notice it's not the biggest restaurant but they use their space efficiently to maximize tables. Their drinks were a good pour, came nice and stiff. Cesar salad was salad and homemade dressing. Dressing was fresh with a hint of mustard. I enjoyed that slight variation. Didn't come with Parmesan cheese or croutons - not sure I'm in for or against that as of yet. Pastas were good. Had a spaghetti carbonara and a farfalle carbone which had smaller sized tiger shrimp. A little pricy for what it was but still really amazing food.

However, I…read morecan't tell you how unwelcome I felt the moment my family (me and my two kids) stepped foot in this restaurant. On a Wednesday evening just past 8:00pm, we arrived at the doors of the restaurant and was greeted by I presume the owner of the business who mumbled something along the lines of them getting ready to close shop. And if we are dining in we should make it a quick one. This is despite the fact, that they were scheduled to close at 9:30, both according to their sign and Google. Anyways, we were seated by the owner and eventually served by the server. To be objective the server was courteous and generally competent, however, he did fail to top up our waters throughout the duration of the meal. Food wise it was above average. The Caesar salad was quite different from most restaurants where there's no croutons, no bacon and no shaved cheese. But I thought it was enjoyable and I like the fact that the salad had traces of anchovy taste. The Margherita pizza was alright. The tomato sauce was refreshing and the cheese tasted right. The flour had a a pretty good floury taste, but the body of the pizza could be a bit more well done. My favourite part of the meal was the Bucatini All'Amatriciana pasta. It's an interesting pasta texture that I've never experience before; clearly homemade. The guanciale gave the pasta a nice umami taste. However, the above average food was not enough to overcome the unwelcoming feeling that hung over us. One thing I forgot to mention is before the meal, I had a couple pieces of garbages from my kids that I wanted to dispose of. The washroom had no garbage bin and on the way out they had a box that resembled garbage bins in a fast food restaurant. I mistakened it for a garbage bin and after I disposed of the garbage, I was told by the same owner that it was not a garbage can. Although I wouldn't say he was totally rude, the statement was blunt and the facial expression and body language pretty much gave it away. One thing that was positive about the experience was at least their transparency toward their non-participation in the tax break government initiative. They had a sign posted right on their main entrance. Mi Casa, Sous casa... my AXX... no wait that's Spanish. Whatever... you know how I feel about Casa Carbone.
