I had to find the discount on their website separately because they do not offer to me automatically. I am not happy with the communication and the thermostat replaced. It is a rental property. Unlike other companies I used, I never received a call 30-60 mins before the technician arrived. So I was not sure if he showed up or not. Whenever I called the company, I was talking to the teams handling customer service, not the technician directly. So there is always a middle man between the tech and me to translate information. The diagnosis was on Wednesday. I approved the quote right away after I received it. The repair was the next Thursday 8 days later. The appointment was initially scheduled for the morning between 9-12. I then got a call to say he could not make it on time and would be there around 1pm. I got a tenant message to say he still did not show up at 2:30PM without any call to inform he would be further late. What I am most disappointed is the new thermostat installed during this repair! He replaced my old programmable thermostat with a new FocusPro N100 Non-Programmable Thermostat 1H/1C. When every household is switching to a smart thermostat, he installed an ancient manual controlled thermostat! I would appreciate he could give me some option to select different types of thermostat. I would have no problem to pay for something better or even buy a smart thermostat myself. I called the company to complain about it. All I got was it is fully functional and it is more modern than my old programmable thermostat! I could not be more disappointed about this. Despite they fixed my AC, I do not feel comfortable to use this company again and to recommend it to anyone else if this is not addressed.

The price point is too high. The initial diagnosis price $99 was supposed to be deducted from the actual price and that did not happen and was not reflected in the invoice as well. One the technician open the dryer you are left with no choice but to go with the repair. My issue was very minor with a squeaking dryer idler wheel and that was replaced and oiled, and I was charged almost $420. A dryer idler pulley which was $7 was priced at $120. Labor $250 to replace it and another $50 for cleaning the dryer. And the technician instead of doing his work was more intent on talking and distracting the situation. Only plus point was the prompt dispatch of the technician. Apart from that I would advise customers to check and ensure that your price is right and not get charged for simple replacements. I went by the great reviews and wanted to try Adams but the price point and lack of transparency and the technician left me with a bad customer experience and would make me think twice to call them.

So, next I called Ace Appliance Repair after I learned from the F-P mother ship that they were authorized to do F-P repairs. I made an appointment for 2 days out, but they called back next day with an opening. Joe came out to diagnose for $70. Dryer needed a new electronic board, which cost around $175, and had to be ordered. He came back a few days later and installed the board for an additional $50 labor fee. Dryer has been fine in the week since installation. F-P parts are expensive, but the labor cost and service rendered were very good and Joe was no drama and got the job done quickly. "But," he offered, "you can use the $180 toward the purchase of a new model." Instead of doing that, I watched a single youtube video about fridge repair, then bent down to look for the part of the fridge that was making the obviously broken-sounding high pitched whine, then googled its part number and bought a new one for $45. That fixed it, instantly. I didn't even need a screw driver. So their business model, it seems, is to half-ass the repair in order to lock you in, and then they sell you a new one for much more money than you'd pay elsewhere. Wouldn't be surprised if they then refurbish your old one and sell it on the side.
