I ordered from Eastern Pearl on both Christmas and New Years Eve. I was so impressed with the staff and coustomer service. The staff is courteous, kind and accommodating even with the high demand they were experiencing on both these nights. The food was amazing and the price was great. Had the displeasure of going here yesterday (valentines day) my girlfriend and I were craving Chinese food we walked in maybe around 20 people between the bar and dining area however there was only one guy working so we sat at the bar waited for about 10-15 minuets and the guy working walked by us twice to take the orders of people who seemed to be his regulars and didn't even acknowledge us gave him the benefit of the doubt since he was he only person there waited 10 more minuets and watched 2 regulars walk in and get immediate service sitting 4 stools down from us if I could give negative stars I would have very unimpressed read more

I've gotten take out here before and was pretty happy with the food. My in laws came to visit, and my wife asked to come here and dine inside. Unfortunately, it seemed kind of depressing inside, and the gentleman serving us wasn't too friendly. I got the impression that only a few senior locals come for dinner and drinks- not too kid friendly. The food was good thankfully, but the gentlemen never returned to ask. The first time I ever got Chinese food without being given a fortune cookie or having drinks refilled. They are on time and actually read your "Delivery or Special Instructions." We ordered a very big boxload of food for Christmas and not a thing was missed, it was all hot and it even arrived early! I love the old school Chinese feel at the bar which has been updated just enough. While I've not enjoyed said bar since it was known locally as the "Minor Garden," where we could drink after hours and under age (past owner faux pas), I look forward to checking it out again soon to enjoy the toasty fireplace and a Mai Tai along with the fabulous food. read more

This place is relatively new and we've been excited to try it. We just called and ordered takeout: -2 small egg drop soups -avocado salad -lobster meat salad -steamed chicken with broccoli, ginger sauce on the side To start, we only received one egg drop soup. More on that later. I can't speak to the avocado salad because I didn't have any, but the lobster meat salad was disgusting. I took one bite and threw it away. They don't use lobster meat, they use crayfish meat. Tiny little lobster tails. SO GROSS. They taste like the ocean floor. Hey, Eastern Pearl, CRAYFISH AREN'T LOBSTERS. I just paid $8 for crayfish salad. My steamed chicken with broccoli was also disgusting. Some of the chicken looked/felt undercooked and almost all of it had chunks of fat. I gave up on eating it after 4 bites and threw the entire container in the garbage. $10 more down the drain. Now, to elaborate on the egg drop soup. I called and let them know that we had ordered 2 smalls and only received one. The guy on the other end looked up my order and then said, "Oh they send 1 large?" I said, "No, they sent one small. We ordered two. I see it on the receipt." He put me on hold again and when he came back he confirmed that I was right. He asked if I wanted a credit for next time. I told him I'd rather not, I ordered the soup because I'm not feeling very well and was hoping it'd help. He put me on hold again and came back to say that the driver had many more deliveries and they didn't know when they could get me the soup. He asked again if I wanted a credit. I told him, again, that I wanted the soup tonight. He spent two more minutes trying to convince me that a credit would be better and that I may not get the soup for over an hour. I reminded him that it only took 25 minutes to get our food and politely requested that I get my soup tonight. We went back and forth for a couple more minutes and eventually I stated that I wanted to soup tonight and that was it - I paid for it and I want it. You didn't send something I paid for...and you're essentially saying that you won't bring it to me? Not my fault you messed up the order and I don't care if it's going to cost you more to send me another one. Give me the damn soup. This place is a joke. We won't order from here again. EDIT: I'm adding one full star because the delivery woman is an absolute sweetheart. read more

The amount of food we received (2 apps, 2 entrees) was underwhelming, it was barely still warm, and the quality was a little below average. This new ownership/new name is a big, big step up from the previous Peking Garden in the same location. Can get really busy on Patriots game day, but the whole staff seems to pitch in. The Hot and Sour Soup, just slightly more spicy and less glutenous than typical American Chinese fare is delicious. Food portions are large and pretty darn good. We have ordered take out twice from this place and it was actually pretty good. When we arrived for a dine in experience it was not as good and the waitress was awkward. She approached our table many times and just stood there, I was unsure what it was all about. The food was not that great either, it is sad because this placed replaced a really dumpy chinese food restaurant that was at this location. We were hoping for a better experience but didn't find that with our dine in experience. Eastern Pearl is a great addition to the area. I ordered lunch a couple days after they opened and was surprised to see how much food I received for under $7. I got the pork fried rice, chicken fingers (amount:4), and peking ravioli (2). It also came with an appetizer, so I ordered crab Rangoon (4), and a soup so I got the hot & sour. All in all, a delicious lunch (& dinner!) Several days later, my boyfriend and I came back for a late dinner after getting back from Boston. Customer service was out of this world, our waitress was very nice and consistent. This time around, we ordered enough food for a small army: house fried rice, lobster sauce, peking ravioli, fried shrimp, and crab Rangoon. Everything was consistently good, although the crab Rangoon was a touch overcooked. Once again, leftovers were plentiful and enjoyed the next day. We're giving them a try today (Christmas Eve) for the whole family. Eastern Pearl, you have a fan! read more

I would give this place a zero for customer service if I could. The last 3 times I have ordered take out they have forgotten something on the order. First it was the extra gravy for egg foo young, next it was the chow mein noodles and today it was the hot and sour soup that comes with the lunch plates. When I called, the person answering the phone argued with me saying that I did not order the soup which I darn well know I did because it is the favorite part of the meal for us. He insisted I did not order the soup. When I read back my order to him verbatim, he again said I did not order soup. No offer to give me soup if I came back or anything. All I got was a rude person refusing to admit he made a mistake. I should add that I have been going there every 2-3 weeks since they opened, so for a returning customer to be treated in this fashion is unacceptable. I will not go back to this restaurant again, if that is how they treat their customers. read more
