As far as I know, this is one of the only pet stores on the eastside that sells special bones for very strong chewers. I bought a deer antler and a bison bone here for my dog Zoe and she loves them both. They're tough enough for her to chew without breaking and they last an incredibly long time. Still loving this store~ this time, I went back to get some omega 3 oils to put on my baby's food and try out the Dogswell treats. The longest-living dog (21 years!) supposedly ate a lot of Dogswell treats. The store employee gave me some sample treats to give to my Yorkie. There is a very good selection of omega 3 oils-I asked the store worker which one is most popular and she recommended the one that is in a tin bottle b/c the other ones came in plastic bottles and there is a pretty good chance that the the plastic will erode due to the salmon oil. The Dogswell treats are very well-priced so I purchased chicken breast treats for joints. My dog loves her new goodies! Now I need to go back and get a new harness b/c my dog somehow wore out her old one. Such a variety! I loves! I wish they had peepad holders though. I didn't see any. read more

We have been shopping at Eastside Dog for just little over a year now. We were shopping at Mud Bay, but the staff there was very aloof and they weren't as informative as Eastside Dog. We can walk to Eastside Dog from our house and the hours are great. I like to price compare and their prices are the best, even better than AMAZON in most cases!! I'm not sure about Jessica's experience below, but Dawn is very friendly and knowledgeable and has never walked away from me. The staff here is friendly (and not that fake friendly either) and very helpful. They have never tried to get me to buy something I don't need or want. I had two senior cats (and a bunny). Gidget (who we just lost in Jan) was 16 and allergic to chicken, trying to find a cat food that didn't contain any chicken was extremely hard! They worked with me until we found something she could eat until she was put on a special diet by the vet for her kidney failure. My other cat Polar is 17 and he has had an issue for a while with getting bored with his food. This happens every few months. I would go back in with the cat food I just purchased a couple of weeks ago and my receipt and they would help me find something new for him. Recently something happened with Polar and he stopped eating. Now when your 18lbs cat stops eating there is a problem! After the vet visit we when to a different store as the vet suggested we try a food I knew Eastside Dog didn't carry. I mentioned it in passing the next time we were at there and Dawn immediately offered to special order it. I won't shop somewhere else. I'm not just a consumer to them, and that makes all the difference. read more

I've been coming here for a few years now, and still love Eastside Dog! The food I get is hard to find - Chicken Soup for the Dog Lovers Soul brand. But this place carries it- yayy! They also have a huge selection of fun toys and harnesses, clothes, leashes, LOTS of treats (including lots of special diet options), and friendly service on top of all that. Stopped by Eastside Dog today and boy is this place CUTE!!!!! I just wish the store was a little more organized but maybe that's what gives it some quirk. Lots of different collars and clothing for the pampered pup and a nice selection of doggy treats! This is the BEST place! We love this place; everytime we go, we've always had a great experience. They are always giving us tons of free treats. The staff is VERY helpful and friendly. There's tons of great stores in Washington for pets, but the service and selection at Eastside Dog has been extra awesome. The sales people here have always been patient and helpful and have never been pushy. It's a bit far for us for our regular shopping needs, but is a terrific pit stop if we're in the area visiting Marymoor or are looking for something more specific (like doggy hiking gear). read more

We came in on a whim looking for a new harness for Waggles our wire haired dachshund and the staff was very attentive and helpful. The best dog store in Washington State, hands down. The people who work there are older, experienced and know a ton about dogs, and how to rectify behavior, medical and really any issue about any dog. They have a ton of merchandise, and I believe every leach ever made along with life vests, and coats. Their food is the best whole foods for dogs, it is cheaper then any other store, and they have a huge selection. This is a mom and pop store so I love supporting it, and the have everything mentioned above for Cats too! read more

That doesn't mean I don't go searching far and wide to find it though! Consider Eastside Dog to be the jackpot. From the moment I met Dawn, she took a sincere interest in getting to know what kinds of products I buy for my Kerry Blue Terrier. She made special orders for me and called to followup on updates with delivery of my requested goods....and on the day of my pickup, she met my dog, showered him with affection and treated us like the center of her universe. This store is seriously amazing. I have never been to a store like this - especially a pet one! Everyone that works here is so nice and helpful. They greet you as you walk in the door, and if you bring your dogs, they welcome them with treats! No matter what question I ask, they are there to help. If they cannot answer, they get someone to call you back with an answer promptly. They carry so many foods, toys, treats, collars, jackets, shirts, beds, e.t.c. Has an ok raw selection. TONS of work for food toys and outdoor accessories for med-large dogs. :) However, this last time i was in I noticed a flier from HSUS. That was disappointing. Went to this pet store with my girlfriend to shop for our shorkie. Our puppy absolutely loved the store and he found his favorite toy here. It took three of us to corner him! Then the employees filled the treat toy with some freeze dried duck. Can't wait to come visit again. The store also has Ruff wear dog jackets which are phenomenal. read more

Over rated. You can find the same stuff anywhere else with the same price or better and not have to deal with snobby employees. It's small over crowded which gives it a chaotic feeling in the store. You can walk without tripping over stuff on the floor. Heaven forbid you bring your dog,which may or may not be judged depending on employees, and be told that your dog can't test toys when they literally fall out of containers from being over stuffed. I know a lot of people have been saying this place is expensive, but have y'all BEEN to some of the other stores lately? We've tried Petco and Mudbay and the prices at those stores were more WAY more expensive than Eastside Dog, with the exception of pet beds, since most if not all of Eastside Dog's beds are orthopedic or specialty. I know for a fact that the Wellness brand foods and pretty much the entire stock of natural treats and bones are cheaper than Mudbay. Petco has some cheaper items such as toys and treats, but arguably the quality is much poorer. I'd rather shell out a few extra bucks and make sure my pup isn't going to choke on a poorly manufactured toy or get sick from some chemical-packed treats from Petco. If that doesn't convince you, maybe my dog will! I took him to all three stores and the only one he whimpered and whined and REFUSED to enter was Petco! Eastside Dog loved seeing a puppy come in and they spoiled him rotten with treats :) read more

Its energetic, full of awesome dog and cat toys and it really makes you want to take care of your pet. They are newly remodeled and so there is a ton of room for any type of dog. Things are slightly expensive but worth it because you are getting really good quality. Not to mention the great lady's that work there who know almost everything about dogs and cats. read more

She would literally go above and beyond just to answer a question of mine - I had one question about a frisbee and then another about a dog food and she offered to help call other pet stores one time when I was not near her store just so I could find a store with this certain dog food with ease. I forget her name but she is why I am writing this review on a Saturday night hahah! As soon as I walked into the store, Rebecca approached my puppy and me. We had only had her for a week, and upon hearing that, she started giving me all kinds of helpful tips, including excellent training advice. I had gone expecting a quick trip to pick up a puppy backpack, but after meeting Rebecca, we got to talking about my puppy, and before I knew it, two and a half hours had gone by! She went over toys, treats, food toys, and all kinds of other information. They closed at 8 that night, but they even stayed 45 minutes with me after closing to help answer my questions! It wasn't just stock advice either; she was very interactive with my dog and had her sitting and coming before I left the store. She even gave her a little training for her severe separation anxiety. I have a 5 month old Golden - I will probably NOT do business with these folks again because of their return policy. Too bad because I liked the place. I purchased breath gel for my puppy at 32.oo dollars. Stupid me, I took the word of the salesperson who told me it was a wonderful product. When I got it home I found the 2ND ingredient was GRAIN ALCOHOL! I went in the other day to buy some treats and asked if I could bring it back and get store credit since I did not save the receipt. They said a flat "NO". SOOO I handed them back their stuff and went a few blocks down to MUD BAY who always (they informed me when I told them what happened) give money back with receipt and store credit without. What I found unappealing with Eastside Dog is that for 32 bucks they don't seem to care about any future business on my part, which will be substantial given the fact that I hope my puppy lives to a ripe old age... (did I say that their label clearly stating their name and price is on this caustic product?) I'll not go back... read more

Overall this place seems very nice. Lots of unique bells and whistles for your dog. My wife and I went in and made a purchase only to have some issues with it 4 days after purchase. Buyer Beware this establishment and I quote "We do not guarantee products not backed by the manufacturer". They failed to mention this when we purchased the item. My first thought was why are you selling me products that you do not back? And to add to the experience not only did the sales person not express any sympathy or concern for us, the customer, she proceeded to try to sell us additional items that were backed by manufacturers. All in all I will not be shopping here again. There are many specialty pet stores in the area, the reason you go to them is for customer service and better product. This experience here supplied neither. read more
