Having dined at East Winds in the past I had hoped to spend it there but when I found out I had to pay an 18% gratuity for a takeout order I took my business to Guy's chicken place just down the hallway from East Winds because they don't charge that exorbitant fee of 18% for takeout. Dining Disaster of the Year If you're in the mood to be ignored, confused, and served the worst sushi you've ever tasted--this is your spot. We walked in just wanting a simple sushi dinner. Not asking for gold flakes or anything wild--just basic rolls. But apparently, even that was too much. We got hit with a series of "no's" from our waiter Jason, delivered with a smirk like "why would you even ask for that here?" No salmon. No spicy salmon. No spicy yellowtail. Family was walking the boardwalk and nothing was popping out for a good dinner spot and we wandered by this place, almost missing it at first. A bit on the expensive side, but everything was pretty good. I had the crispy pork belly, my wife the had beef and broccoli and both our kids had chicken dumplings and white rice. Wow, I dislike gambling but on a whim my brother urged me to take my dad to Atlantic City. Went here quite a few times when I was a kid and remember the old boardwalk days and Madam Tassauds Wax Museum...My parents loved Resorts and that is where we stayed. My brother told me of this Asian restaurant downstairs and I scoffed at it being even remotely being good. I was proven wrong. I got the Pork Belly and it was phenomenal. Roasted with some skin crunch but not burnt where it was stringy. It was served with pickled radish and carrots a la Viet style and it set off the flavors perfectly. My brother got Pho and he liked it and my dad got shrimp. Apparently they come here enough that the server knew them which was nice. Service was perfect with no intrusions nor neglect. Food was served at the same time which was good and look there it was served temp hot which I love. Ambiance is intimate though the L shaped layout takes away from the look. Still it was a pleasant surprise to get good Asian food. I would recommend dining here for sure if you are looking for quality food. Came here and inquired about the seafood noodle soup and how big it is. We decided it would work for 2 people, and they brought us an extra bowl so we could split up the soup. It came with a good amount of shrimp, scallops, crab, noodles, veggies, etc. Definitely worked out to be enough for 2 people but was a bit messy to pour and separate the soup. We also got the Asian chicken wings which were very saucy but not hot at all. Definitely needed a few napkins for that. It wasn't crowded when we went and tables were spaced out. It has a nice interior. Compared to a lot of other restaurants in casinos, it's a more economical option. As far as compared to other similar restaurants elsewhere, it's okay. With restaurants now operating at 25% capacity, we were able to dine-in for dinner. Tables were amply spaced out and the restaurant seems to be taking the proper COVID precautions. Our waiter was polite, provided excellent service, and wore gloves and a mask the whole time. They have a QR code on each table to scan with your phone and view an online menu. They also provided the regular menus to order from but required more contact. For an appetizer, we ordered the crispy bacon shrimp roll (comes with four pieces). The exterior had a light crunch but I would've liked the bacon on the inside to be crispy as well. It came with a dipping sauce served with a lid on it - an extra COVID precaution that is appreciated. For my entree, I ordered the Seafood Pan Fried Noodles. There was a generous serving of the seafood in a flavorful gravy and the noodles were perfectly golden brown. Our table ordered two because we were advised that one entree wasn't big enough for sharing, but if you're not that hungry or split an appetizer, the entree could easily feed two. I also tried the Singapore noodles which was a generous serving. To finish the meal, my sister was eager to try the volcano buns for dessert - two sweet custard buns (think Chinese doughnut) with an eggy filling topped with powdered sugar and garnished with whipped cream. The filling was a little gritty but nothing offensive. As my first dine-in experience since the pandemic, this was a nice reminder of why we like eating out - overall, tasty food and wonderful service. read more

My first time here w a buddy of mine on a Friday night during the winter. Not busy at all for 10:30pm which I appreciated. Able to pick the seats we liked which was at the sushi bar. Fairly moderate menu so not too overwhelming. From start to finish the service for us was spot on. Helps it was quiet! The supervisor Mei was very attentive. Our server Wah was sociable, friendly and making sure we were enjoying everything. The chefs are excellent! The calamari, some of the best I had, tbh. I can't resist a new Asian fusion restaurant. I really wanted this place to be my new regular dining place on caliber with Kwi or NOW at the Borgata but it just doesn't compare. Our waitress was sweet and heartwarming, she was usually smiling, asking us if we need refills, or constantly checking up on us. I ordered the Korean BBQ bowl with short rib, garlic fried rice and the soft cooked egg. The ribs were beyond sensational, with a flavor filled blend of sweet and savory. It had some bones to pick, but it didn't bother me too much. The fried rice and egg were suitable accompaniments. The entire portion was teeny tiny. Moving onto the pan fried noodles, it reminded me of the Vietnamese dry noodles I used to have at home which was scrumptious, savory, and had the perfect crunch. The sauce is concentrated in the middle so you can disperse it how you like through your dish. Again, the portion is too small. The ginger cake was a sugary delight, fresh from the oven and enticingly sinful, I contemplated ordering another one. It could have been more moist and creamy, but that's my only complaint. The presentation is beautiful and eye-catching while the quality is on par with expectations, but unfortunately, I cannot see myself coming back until they adjust the portion sizes or the price to accurately reflect the amount. read more

We had a party of 8 for dinner in this restaurant and we all had a great experience. 7 of us had the Seafood Pan Fried noodles and each of us enjoyed our food. My daughter who ordered the Vietnamese Pho however said the food is not an authentic Pho. I even tried it and she is correct, it taste just like a regular noodle soup and not a Vietnamese Pho. Why do I crave noodles so badly while in Atlantic City? The weather was awful and there was no way I was schlepping to another noodle place for a pre-gambling bite to eat. Eastwind Noodle Bar is located in Resorts Casino on the ground floor and it offers your typical Asian fare...noodles/soups along with standard Asian dishes. We ordered the pork buns as well as the sticky rice with pork and mushrooms wrapped in a banana leaf for our appetizer. The pork buns were bland, bland, bland. We've never had them before, so maybe they're supposed to be tasteless pillows filled with flavorless pork? The sticky rice was pretty bland as well. We felt the need to add soy sauce to both, which I am certain would be a no-no under normal circumstances. I ordered the Hong Kong Wonton Soup and the Irishman ordered the beef with broccoli. The soup had wontons but also some type of spaghetti. It was not an egg noodle as promised...it was Ronzoni all the way. That was a little disappointing. He seemed satisfied with his entrée. He wasn't "oohing" and "ahhhing" but who does over beef with broccoli? : ) If you've ever dined at NOW at Borgata, then you will probably be disappointed here. I was. The space is kind of weird and you are literally right up against the Baccarat tables. It was like they had some extra space and decided to throw in a noodle bar for the fun of it. A place definitely worth checking out if you're thinking about hitting up the boardwalk. Great food, service, and setting for any occasion. There is a wide range of selections to choose from on the menu covering the usual basic cravings with the exception of sushi. Something worth noting is that the menu is a slight bit pricier than average which is not all too surprising since it is part of the casino. All our food came out either within a reasonable time or quicker than anticipated. And most coming out fairly photogenic with nice plating in case you too are photo obsessed like I am. Our waitress was super friendly and hardworking, appearing to be the only person on the floor. And the manager was super friendly with us as well, checking up on our status every so often. For apps we had: Seaweed Crab Salad ($11), Pork Buns Vietnamese ($9), Pork Dumplings ($9), and Vegetable Spring Rolls (2). Dumplings were nice and crispy with a good amount of filling unlike some places that tend to go stingy with it, Pork Buns were a little different than the usual bbq pork belly style but still good. For entrees I tried the Crispy Chilean Sea Bass ($28) while my boyfriend got the Sirloin Steak in Black Pepper Sauce ($25). The sea bass was nicely cooked on the inside although the crispy outer layer did lose its crispy touch with the sauce but it was still scrumptious regardless. A major change has occurred here at Eastwind ever since Mohegan Sun has taken the reigns in operating Resorts Casino (late 2012). That change is that fewer diners are sitting at the tables. However, it is not a sign of a restaurant going downhill. It is a sign of how the new operators are going to run the casino. They have moved the Asian table games parlor away from Eastwind - which is now empty, so the natural customers for Eastwind have moved onto the casino floor unaware of where the Chinese restaurant is located. Despite the fewer customers, the food is still excellent. I've eaten here several times and I must recommend the chicken congee, and the incredibly tasty fried rice. I am a Chinese food fan and from all the large casinos, Resort's Eastwind easily has the best fried rice. Even their beef and broccoli is not Americanized, a huge plus. In fact, I must have eaten 10 separate dishes on many visits and yet none have disappointed. I have a feeling that Eastwind's days may be numbered, due to the new operators at Resorts. So if you want to try one of the truly better Boardwalk Chinese restaurants, you must go sooner rather than later. read more

This place was awesome. Everyone in the restaurant was Chinese, so walking in, we automatically knew things were off to a good start. It also appeared that many of the patrons were regulars as there was friendly banter between guests and wait staff. Our waitress was very attentive and the manager stopped by a few times to check on us as well and make a few jokes. Great service and staff aside, the food was great too. The restaurant area is small and next to the casino (slot machines in full review of tables) but I didn't mind; it only added to the charm.
