I'm amazed that a woman as young and dedicated as Savannah can turn whatever's in her head into a cute, immersive sanctuary. Initially interested in graphic design, Savannah channeled her creative vision into a mystical indoor forest with her pet axolotls. The detail she puts into everything - from the resin figurines to the price tags to the stickers and curated gifts is astounding. High props for making this experience educational and engaging. How cute! I wish I could have my mind literally displayed to the world in the way she does, and make a business out of it! 10/10 no notes. I'm curious to see where she takes her creativity next!

Planting in the fall is the right time, so you want to shop now - they are open through the end of October. The staff is incredibly helpful as well - they will help you pick plants that will thrive based on your soil and sun/shade conditions. Need a workhorse for your flower bed? Get the goldenrod or sneezeweed - trust me! Love this nursery

We attempted to remove some ourselves but were quickly overwhelmed by the task. I researched native plant landscapers and came across Swamp Rose Co-op. After reaching out, Jeff, one of the owners, came to do a site visit. He was thorough in his presentation of plans and this February we had them come and do bamboo removal and plant some native trees and shrubs to act as a privacy screen. The Swamp Rose team was amazing! They pulled out over 2 tons of bamboo and roots! They planted native trees and shrubs which are thriving. Our backyard woodland meadow dreams are coming true. We have the team coming back in a few weeks to rip out the standard plants seen in the Silver Spring area (liriope, lilies, weeds) to replace with a native garden and we can't wait. One of my favorite aspects of this company is it is a co-op. The employees can be owners, and those who aren't are still paid a living wage as calculated by the MIT living wage calculator. They do excellent work! It is hard to find a native landscaper but this team is fantastic.

To say they have everything is probably accurate. I found the plants that I wanted and some ground cover I didn't know I wanted till I saw it, LOL. Prices were very good. I don't have a lot of comparisons, because where I live near Ft. Meade, there aren't many nurseries nearby. This place is definitely worth the drive for me. Parking is ample, but a little tricky. I mistakenly drove around to the commercial side and had to turn around to get back to the non-commercial area. There were lots of wheeled carts of different sizes. Everything is laid out according to types of plants and their needs - very efficient. I only spoke to three employees, two at some length, and they were so friendly and helpful - big plus for me! I take my business elsewhere if I don't feel welcome. Here's a little oddity that you want to watch out for: GPS kept wanting me to turn onto a side road next to an auto dealership, on the wrong side of Highway 301. (This was coming south from Gambrills/Crofton.) I submitted a correction, but till they fix it be aware the nursery is on the east side of the highway, sort of opposite the auto dealership.

Gil and Brooke Run Trees are fantastic! If you are looking for large trees (3.5" caliper, over 20…read morefeet in height), Gil has a wonderful stock at wholesale prices. I've been working on a multi-year project to reforest about an acre of my property, replacing all the turf grass with native trees, shrubs, and perennials. I have purchased about 40 trees from Gil and BRT over the last few years - Maples, Oaks, White Spruce, Hawthornes, Dogwoods, Redbuds, Silverbells, Birch, Serviceberries, and Sweetgums. These trees are larger than anything you can get at most nurseries and only a fraction of the cost. His awesome crew will come deliver and install these giant trees with machines (if the site is accessible) or manually if needed (his crew lugged a few trees through a deep wooded area to access a planting site). Gil has also been a tremendous resource for any concerns I've had about the trees. He is a trained arborist and has a wealth of knowledge. He gets back to me very quickly anytime I have a question about any of my trees or when I'm looking for tips on how to address any of a variety of issues. He even stops by from time to time to see how everything is doing. One new tree was uprooted by a heavy wind storm and he was there to fix it that week! Only one dogwood didn't survive the transplant the first year and he replaced it the next year for no cost. Now, two years into starting my project, my forest is really coming to fruition - I never would've been able to do this without Gil and Brooke Run Trees!
