a glass of beer on a table

Was really excited about this place but every time I come I struggle to feel welcome and the vibe is a bit off. Might try again someday but will head for friendlier taphouses in the area for now...

Still loving Easy Monkey! They're the best and the food has greatly improved thanks to chef Sean's mastermind of delicious menus.

Live music, award winning Paul Green and the 200 Trio!

This was not what I expected and that's a good thing! I was expecting more of a dive bar from some of the other reviews, but this is a nice place. We visited on a Saturday night to see blues man Paul Green perform with the 200 Trio. If you are a blues or jazz fan you'll want to check out Paul and the trio. They don't usually perform together but they play all over the city. The cover was only $5 which was an absolute steal for this caliber of musicians. The layout in this long space doesn't make for an intimate musical experience, but the sound system is good and you can see the band well from most seats. They are planning on building out a stage downstairs, something I am looking forward to. This is a nice bar with a decent beer selection and a few rotating taps. The menu is small, but has a good variety, including some gluten fee options. They have a "braut" listed on the menu, which I guess is a bratwurst and not a bride. We ordered beer and cider and a Reuben and grilled ham and cheese. The drinks were tasty and the food was good. The sandwiches were well prepared, tasted good and came with grapes, a bag of chips and a peppermint patty. The prices were reasonable. Service was very good. We were checked on fairly regularly and the server was up front about the cover. Food and drinks were delivered with a reasonable wait time. There were about 25 to 30 people in the bar. Parking was a bit of a challenge though, the back lot and street parking was full so we parked on a side street. We'll be back for sure!

Yes GPS may think you are lost, but that is because this is situated in the middle of a neighborhood. I guess it's been here a really long time. Some of the older patrons talk about how great it used to be before there were houses built in front blocking the waterfront view. You can still get glimpses of the waterfront and the back deck makes a great place to spend a warm summer evening. The building itself has a lot of character. Although it's divey I assume most of the patrons are locals who could choose to go anywhere but come here because it's close. If you happen to be visiting in the non sunny summer months there is still lots of space and seating inside. This turned out to be the perfect place for a friend to hold a birthday party. Not too loud, not too crowded, lots of space for everyone to stand around and talk. The majority of the parking is street parking but because there is nothing else around this was super easy as well. Best of all prices are great. I can't recall such a cheap night out in recent years. They even offer food, I only tried the chips and salsa myself, but everyone seemed to be happy with what they ordered.

What a cool place!…read more We visited a friend in Edmonds area for my husbands birthday. It was a great escape for the desert heat! That being said, we were looking for something fun to do one afternoon and being big board game lovers, Around the Table Game Pub seemed like such a perfect find! They do take reservations online to reserve tables in two hour increments for game sessions, but also have ample walk in seating outside and inside. In addition to being a board game pub they offered lots of varies games for sale or other world building accessories. They seemed to have used and new games available. Their menu featured plentiful of coffee options, beers, kombucha, a few menu items such as corn dogs and waffles fries and ice cream. They even had Blue Moon?! I felt like i was back in Michigan! One of the employees joked how they got various unique flavors in that sometimes were location specific, so definitely a fun surprise. We ended up visiting them twice, one for a mid morning game session and one for an afternoon. It was such a great way to past the time and they seem to have a great presence in the community. They have various events going on throughout the month. If you are interested in board games or want to get started, they seem like a great spot to start! I also loved that they did not have a cover charge, such as some game shops have, unless you order, which I do understand and I am sure helps with use and overhead of wear and tear on the games, but they seem to be a community gem and get ample support. Would definitely visit again! Service was great and everyone was so friendly on both of our visits.

My kids and I split a 13" pepperoni pizza. It was solid. Nothing special, but nothing wrong with it either. Crust was thin, but sturdy enough to pick each piece up and eat with our hands without all the ingredients sliding off. Even splitting it between 3 people, we had 2 leftover pieces to take home. I also ordered a small Caesar salad, and it was delicious. Perfect dressing-to-salad ratio, loved how it came with brioche breadcrumbs that were simply part of the salad (as opposed to so many other places that have croutons that are giant and too hard to stick with your fork so you're left eating the salad and picking up the croutons separately - often with your fingers). While this review landed on 3 stars, looking over the wide variety on the menu, I can absolutely see how others have given it 4-5 stars. There were lots of options on the menu that looked fantastic - from starters to beer bread sandwiches and pie folds. The menu also had a number of desserts that looked quite inventive, and dessert is my favorite meal of the day. I just didn't have the wisdom to choose any of those options on this visit. Definitely a place worth coming back to and seeing if those other things are as good as the menu makes them sound. In sum, it's a solid, family-friendly place. Maybe try something more creative than I did.

Mesh, the bartender was so amazing, friendly and approachable. I came into this little place with a feeling of history. You see, my mom worked here for years in the 70's, 80's and early 90's. I loved that the bar is modernized just enough to make it comfy, but with enough of the old feel to make it feel as though my mom was still there. As my mom passed away several years ago, I walked in with tear-filled eyes and Meesh totally understood and even allowed me to play my mom's favorite song on the juke box. So, with Lyin Eyes on the awesome and modern jukebox and the neon booze signs on the walls, I could actually feel my mom in the room, telling her infamous dirty jokes. I shared this with everyone, and we all raised a glass in her honor. Tequila shots for my companions and a water shot for me! I love that they serve hard alcohol here, makes for a nice variety in drinks and patrons. Now, on this particular night, there were only 3 others in the bar (maybe 4), but it was a great atmosphere. The entire place is super clean with updated bathrooms with the doors I'm sure were there when the place was built. Now, I don't drink and have never really been a regular at a bar, but the welcoming environment and friendly Meesh, I am certain I'll be back again & again. If you are in Kenmore, stop in for a nice beverage, good conversation and homey atmosphere!
