Yummy!! Great new place for Southern fare. Wonderful service, A great time out! Had the biggest pork chop I've ever had over potato purée & collard greens. This was our first time dining in Petaluma. A friend with a good gastronomy compass recommended this restaurant. While the ambiance and decor were appealing, we found the food underwhelming, except the Brussel sprouts appetizing. I had the mushroom pot pie and was completely disappointed. For the price and description, I was expecting the primary ingredient and flavor to be locally sourced mushrooms but instead had a hard time finding any mushrooms and the main flavor was potatoes. The serving side was very inadequate. To add insult to injury, as we checked out, the couple next to us received the tomahawk steak which looked incredible but had not been on the menu - it was on the specials which the server had not even told us about. Absolutely love Easy Rider. Brought my mother here who grew up in the south, we ordered an assortment of dishes off the menu and could not say one bad thing about any of them. Everything was incredible. Highly recommend the hushpuppies, the shrimp and grits, and the pork chop. read more

Outstanding service and outstanding food. Sat at the bar first because dinner service doesn't start until 5. Bartender makes a pretty good old fashion. And the ahi tuna tacos and truffle fries were very good. We were too full to try any main entrees once seated for dinner, but still tried the crispy Brussel sprouts, Watermelon Goat cheese salad, and fried green tomatoes...all amazing. Not bad but overpriced for what you're getting. Service was good. The fried chicken was decent but overcooked and overpriced. The shrimp and grits was probably the best thing on the menu hands down. We are so excited to have this amazing new restaurant in Petaluma! We went in on their opening weekend & we were already impressed with how smoothly things seemed to be running! We received wonderful service from everyone! Their staff is knowledgeable, so warm & friendly + made great recommendations! Everyone loved their meals! We all got yummy, fresh cocktails (tan lines is my favorite but it was hard to choose one!) & ordered the hush puppies and brussel sprouts to start, the jam that came with the hush puppies was so good, and they add farro & truffle to the sautéed brussels, delicious! The sweet potato gnocchi, short ribs & the fried chicken dinner were the fan favorites! Everyone loved their entrees! We all chose a dessert and the sticky toffee cake & beignets were incredible! This place is super chic. Walked by and had to go in. This place needed reservations but luckily the bar had some open seating. The bartender was suggestive and made delicious drinks. He had an art. The food was great... never had raw/ smoked clams but loved them! And the pork belly biscuits were delicious as well. read more

We went with high expectations based on our first visit which was soon after they opened. We were disappointed to find a modified menu which no longer included the Shrimp Po Boy and the Jambalaya, which were both delicious. We opted for the house smoked trout salad and the the fried chicken, which we were especially looking forward to. Ok. the good stuff first. Great service, helpful and entertaining and the atmosphere was welcoming. We had one cocktail, the PYT, lemon, strawberry, seltzer and vodka which was just ok. The smoked trout salad was the high point of the evening. A delicious, well balanced and ample plate, worth returning for this dish by itself. Unfortunately, the fried chicken was a big disappointment. Instead of golden brown fried chicken we got a plate with pieces of overcooked chicken with an armored dark brown crust we had to hack our way through. The honey drizzle couldn't help the poor bird and the brown gravy was unnecessary and kind of mystifying. The side of macaroni and cheese also didn't quite come together with a slightly watery sauce. If I had ordered this on my first visit I would not have returned. Darn. So hopeful about this place, but overall too uneven. Hoping it evens out. read more

Definitely recommend the hush puppies (the jam with them was great) and Brussels sprouts for starters. The fried chicken was not my preferred style - the crust was very dense, though the chicken itself was hot and tasty. The gravy with it was bland and could have used some salt. Same for the Mac and cheese. The collared greens were really delicious though. Pork loin was a little dry. Trout/salad was ok. I came here in a party in of 3 people. We reserved our table ahead of time and sat at a more secluded booth, so our table was more private, which was nice as it was my friend's birthday. The food here is super delicious. I don't eat southern soul food often, so I did not know what to expect. Our party started off the meal with hushpuppies, which to my surprise were really good! I never thought strawberry and jalapeno could go well together, but the jam was also really good too with a nice kick to it. As for my entree, I ordered the Berkshire pork chop, and it was so tasty! The entree is quite big, but I enjoyed it so much that I devoured it up. The pork chop was so soft yet tender, and the smoked pear glaze on top perfectly balances off the pork with its sweetness. My friends ordered the fried chicken dinner and really enjoyed their meal too. The service was pretty friendly and nice, pretty standard service. Overall, the food here is extremely great. Best restaurant in Petaluma. You need to go. I've eaten here 7 or 8 times now and the food is just crazy delicious. It's got a very modern take on southern food so the dishes generally have a lot of sauces / flavor. If you like a plain steak and a potato this is not what they do. Let's talk about the fried chicken. For starters it's huge! It can easily feed two people but what's better than taking some chicken home with you? And the Mac and cheese that comes with it is superb! Everything on their appetizer list is delicious so I recommend you go with a group of foodies that like to share. If I could give them a zero star, I would. We used to patronage this restaurant for dinner, and even though it was expensive, the food was ok. Today at brunch, the service was horrific. I left no tip and was told they would not cook my eggs a little longer because I do not like sunny side up. The server was the worst, said the owner refused to cook my eggs longer, and they take no substitutions, so I had no eggs and paid $12 for a flat mimosa that was awful and had the smallest portion of potatoes & bacon for breakfast. Go anywhere else but here. As a long-time P-town girl, they will never see my face in their restaurant again. I can get better breakfast at Haley's, Tea Room, Cafe Bellini, and Waterstreet Bistro, AND they will do my eggs any way I want. Denny's serves better breakfast for a fraction of the cost. read more

Honestly I really wanted this to be great because brunch options in Sonoma county are kinda lacking. First of all, their manager, Allison, is incredibly rude and unhelpful (as you can see from other reviews this is a shared experience) We came in around 10 with a party of 6 for brunch and the restaurant was about half full so I didn't anticipate an issue. First she said she couldn't seat six which I guess I understand since it's a bigger group so I offered for us to split into two tables. She acted like this was a huge inconvenience and then sat us 4/2 at tables with our backs to each other. Soon after we sat down the table next to our friends opened up so I asked if we could move and all sit together and she refused that as well. Zero attempt to accommodate us was made which would not have been difficult for them to do. Despite all this I was optimistic about the food because my cocktail and the hush puppies were good but our entrees were rough. 1. They made a big deal about making my egg over medium instead of over easy 2. I got the hash and my short rib was literally 95% fat and connective tissue and the potatoes had no flavor. 3. My brother got the avocado toast and the bread wasn't toasted and turned into a mushy blob on the plate After all that it was $210 for 4 of us which is way overpriced for what we got. read more

Easy Rider is one of Petaluma's finest! Southern dishes with a twist. We had the poke tacos as an appetizer. Next time, I'll get several orders and have these with a beer! Tender, fresh poke in small wonton tacos with wasabi cream. They absolutely tingle your palate! For my entree, I had the bavette steak that was perfectly cooked with a trio of sauces, smeared on the plate. Mixing them together really elevated the flavor of the meat. Tender asparagus was layered on top and some crispy, salty string fries were included. It was absolutely the best meal I've had in Petaluma! Ditto for my fiancé! He had the Birkshire pork chop with cheesy grits and collards. The pork chop was moist and had an apple cranberry glaze that made it unbelievably scrumptious! The grits were creamy and the collards were tender. Major kudos to the chef! This meal was out of this world! And many thanks to our server, Colton. Friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. It was a last minute decision to eat here but we've had it on our to-do list for a while. Best decision ever! We ate early and the restaurant filled up fast.
