    Buffalo Chicken Pizza Slice
    Mag L.

For drunk food, this pizza was excellent. It was way better than other popular late night pizza spots downtown. The pizza was kind of expensive, but it's a huge slice. They heat it up for you perfectly, and it absolutely hit the spot.

Ridiculously soggy and the pizza just falls apart while trying to take a slice, doesn't taste very good either

Great pizza and fun downtown Madison vibe on Capitol Square…read more Try the Detroit style pizza for a more filling meal or the traditional Pizza Margherita w/ Prosciutto & Arugla is my favorite. We like sitting upstairs to people watch.

The old bones are still showing, with exposed brick walls and the large open windows giving the place that "well, they sure don't build 'em like this anymore" kind of charm. Right smack in the middle of the main floor sits a big ol' bar, surrounded by bright lime-green accent chairs that somehow make perfect sense once you're sitting in one, bellying up to the aluminum topped bar. Tables are scattered throughout both floors, all are absolutely packed, and not a grumpy face in sight. Upstairs, the two-story layout gives the place a little extra breathing room and a touch of old-building grandeur. It's quirky without trying too hard, colorful without being fussy, and comfortable in that distinctly Midwestern way. Why not start with an Old Fashioned and those Wisconsin cheese curds--because apparently regular cheese wasn't doing enough heavy lifting. These little golden nuggets come out hot, crisp, and gloriously greasy, a little salty, a little oily, plenty cheesy, and best eaten while they're still hot enough to make you question your life choices. The Old Fashioned, well... bless its heart, it tried. It had all the usual suspects--whiskey, a little sweetness, an orange garnish, and a healthy dose of bitters--but somehow the bitters forgot to show up for work. It wasn't terrible, exactly. It just lacked that gruff Wisconsin attitude you'd hope for in an Old Fashioned. God Bless The Queen! The Queen is their wood-fired pizza that keeps things simple while teasing your taste buds with rich fresh flavor. The flavors are classic Italian comfort, with the tomato bringing a little tang, the mozzarella keeping things creamy, and the Parmesan adding that salty, nutty punch at the end. The basil gives it a fresh, herby lift, while the wood-fired crust brings that smoky, crispy edge that makes you want to pick up another slice before you've even finished the first. Loved it! Eating this pizza in an old bank feels like peak Wisconsin: keep the brick, add a bar, fire up a pizza oven, and throw some cheese curds at the situation. Somehow, it works. Cheers!

When you walk in, you place your order at the counter, and bring an order number to your table. I'm on the search for the best pizza in Madison, and Novanta made it pretty high on my list. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the flavors were simple but delicious, like most Neapolitan pizzas. I'm a huge fan of pizzas baked in stone ovens, and I was not disappointed by Novanta's ovens, which were imported from Italy. The staff was very friendly! They greeted us warmly and made sure we had everything we needed when the pizzas were served. I will definitely be back soon!

With 2 Wood fire pizza ovens and an open kitchen concept, this place was it for me. Pizza: personal size, got the Salsiccia ($13) which was delicious. Crust was amazing, thin but scrumptious. Service: it was empty when I went at 2 and you order and pay first even if dining in. A lady (I believe her name was Lugenia?) was manning the front. Had to ask for napkins and asked for a cup of water. Got the napkins and an empty cup, water never showed up, no explanation. An elderly white couple showed up afterwards and they got the whole speech, come to find out (by eavesdropping) that there's a water fountain in the back. Well now I'm glad I tipped for no service at all. As I was leaving, a young lad was changing shifts with her and he seemed very friendly and thanked me for coming in. So maybe I just got unlucky with the service because he seemed a lot chipper. Parking: in the back, make a right at the light after passing the bagels shop. TLDR: come for the great pizza, but service could probably be a hit or miss. Takeout pizza would be amazing here.

But oh my goodness what a lovely lovely Pizza! Those flavors went so well together and neither of them was too overpowering. I had it with the Drunken Ravioli pizza (vodka Marinara Sauce, Mozzarella, Cheese Ravioli, Butter, & Asiago). I was genuinely not expecting this pizza to be so good. Such a nice balance of the ravioli and the cheese and the sauce and everything else going on. Love the build your own salad as well! Portion size on here is massive and is definitely value for money. It was big enough for two meals! Love the grilled chicken that they put in the salad too. Well cooked and nice flavor.

We were grabbing an early dinner before a volleyball game so the place was not busy. I know they are known for their oddball pizza combos but most are just not for me. I did get their barbecue chicken pizza but I really just wanted something more traditional in addition like a pepperoni slice. They had nothing like it at this time. So I opted for just the one slice which was good but... My wife got a slice they described as chicken cordon blue. She thought it was just OK. Not a favorite. I will stick with Glass Nickel as our "go to" for pizza in town.
