We got delivery to a downtown hotel around 7pm on a Saturday. We got a beet salad and 3 pizzas. A pepperoni, a bufala, and this margherita. The pepperoni looked fine, and the salad was good. The other 2 pizzas, however each had something wrong. The bufala was missing some toppings and had pepperoni instead but was at least cooked well. My margherita was more or less inedible. It was so burnt the crust was like charcoal on the raise and burnt leather on the inside. The cheese has turned into plastic and the sauce was basically reduced into a tomato paste. Topping it all off was burnt basil that was the most edible part of the pizza. Based on this experience I would recommend thin crust Papa John's or Domino's over Pizza Brutta. Way cheaper and at least some good garlic butter. read more

New favorite. Too tired with the baby on the way to write a long review but veryyyyy good. We've been getting takeout here a lot lately and have had at least like, 8 different pizzas, all YUMMY. I always like Pizza Brutta. It's in a lovely area (by the Trader Joe's!), and the inside is really fun. You can get it to go, but you are missing out on the vibes a bit if you do. Pizza Brutta is a combination of booth seating pizza joint & Chipotle style ordering. I ordered a Nostrano (basil,sausage & roasted red peppers) with red onions added. I also ordered a Caesar salad & a glass of the Tuscan red wine to enjoy during the wait. I took my table card number & we settled into a booth. The wine was, surprisingly, excellent. The salad was brought to our table quickly and the silken dressing enveloped each leaf equally with a couple slices of toasted pizza dough atop (in lieu of croutons). Within 8 minutes or so our pizzas arrived together. The edge crust was beautifully blistered in Brutta's woodbrick oven with a very thin crust on which a a well balanced grouping of the toppings merged. The pies are personal size and are more than enough for an individual. As a born & raised denizen of New York City...Pizza Brutta is an absolute winner! Love it! We just love it! The staff was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere, being near the heart of the UW campus, was upbeat. It had that 'collegy' energy about the place. Still, a place to bring the kids for pizza. Each pizza is about personal pizza about 12" in diameter. You just can't get any better than wood-fired pizzas. Thin, crunchy crust that has the char from the pizza oven. The blend of sauce and cheese gives a good balance to each slice. The sausage is crumbled on top: the way it should be. And it's not too spicy. Just don't order 'extra sauce.' It makes the pizza a bit too runny in the middle. You actually don't need it. The have a lot of pizza varieties. The minute I walked in, I knew it was going to be good: the smell was the best insight to the food we were about to pick up! Just observing, there were few booths and I imagine they fill up quickly during busy times (we arrived after the lunch rush). Reportedly, they give you a pickup time that is closer to your pizza being cooked to ensure you pick up the freshest, hottest pizza possible--super smart! The side salad was one of the best I've ever had: so fresh and crispy, lots of each topping, and huge for six bucks. The pizza was thin, flavorful, and chewy in a good way. The first time I got a gluten free pizza here it was watery, soggy, and had an odd flavor. I thought I'd give it another shot because of all the good reviews... Service at front was very rude and blatantly did not care to listen to my partner and I. I told them I wanted a gluten free pizza and they said okay and on the digital screen it did not show an up-charge for gluten free crust - thought that was weird so i said "That's gluten free?" he nods his head with an attitude. I told my partner i was concerned about no up-charge and so he asked him "Excuse me are you sure that's gluten free?" Nods his head again with an attitude. My partner again says, "The ___ pizza is gluten free?" this time in a louder toned voice. Guy goes "Huh?... No." in a tone of suggesting my partner was dumb, look on his face matched. Pizza Bruta however, chooses neopolitan with a wood fire pizza oven and local ingredients. When craving pizza on a lazy Sunday afternoon, this is a stop to make. I had the Rossoverde- a pizza with red sauce, basil, prosciutto, Parmesan, and arugula. The red sauce has a deep tomato flavor, which complements their chewy light pizza dough. The ingredients paired well together, although a bit heavy on the arugula and the dough was stretched a bit thin in the middle of the pizza. Service was fast and inviting, however the music volume kept being bumped up to full so it disrupted the ambiance a few times. I had the pleasure of dining at Pizza Brutta last night. This was one of the best pizza restaurants I have ever been to. My friends and I ordered 3 pizzas: Rossa (sausage, roasted fennel, chiles) Maui Wowie (pineapple, jalapeños, basil), and Bianca (Brussels sprouts, smoked bacon, chiles). There is only a standard size for a pizza which is a bit on the smaller side so if you are sharing, definitely order a few. There are a wide variety of pizzas and you can also create your own. The 3 pizzas we ordered were so yummy and my favorite was the Rossa. The wait wasn't too bad considering how busy they were. This spot is also conveniently located across from Trader Joe's! Went to Pizza Brutta on Pi Day for dinner. I am a huge fan of their service and pies. The service is very quick and streamlined -- we were able to get through a pretty long line and order our food within 5 minutes. The two pies I ordered took only 10 minutes to make. The pies themself had a nice thin and crisp base. I got a mix of meats (sausage, bacon, ham etc.) and they tasted very fresh and were very savory. Overall Pizza Brutta is a very nice spot to visit if you're looking to grab a quick snack or sit down dinner with family/friends. Ok. I feel like I need to confess. I'm disappointed in myself for not knowing about the best pizza in town for as long as I lived here. Two friends told me (thanks Jolene & Sherry) about this place and I've always driven by but didn't give it the time I wish I had sooner. Beer on draft. Brick oven pizza. Neapolitan style. Fresh. Fast. Delicious. They even have specials. I plan on getting a different pizza each time. Their salads look filling. Their pizza crust is just right. Perfectly cooked and the crust a bit chewy. So good. Do it family style. Get a couple of different pizzas with your family and friends. Try it out. Parking is definitely not ideal but there's always parking a block over. Totally worth it.
