This place was such a life saver!! I completely forgot to book a restaurant for my daughter's communion and so it was a race two weeks before to find a place. Eatalia was able to fit in our small group of ten last minute. We ordered family style and it was such an amazing lunch. The food kept coming out...and if we wanted more of anything, they brought it out. Everything from the salad to the pasta to the chicken was amazing!! Everything was fresh and well prepared. This is a very nice, an elegantly decorated moderately priced restaurant in Huntington and is reviewed as such. The Sole Livornese and the Chicken Franchise were both well prepared, well plated and aesthetically pleasing. The chicken was tender and well complimented by the sauce. The sole was also tender, flaked easily, and bathed with a good tasting sauce. This is my absolute favorite restaurant. I live an hour away so I don't come here often but if I lived closer I would pretty much only go here while eating out. The food is perfect every time, it's fresh and you can tell the chef cares. The ambiance is nice. I'm obsessed with their eggplant rollatini and crave it everyday- no one else seems to be able to make it like them. My son gets spaghetti and meatballs, which seems simple but even he says no one can make the sauce or meatballs like them! When he likes something you know it has to be good because he's picky. Met a friend for lunch here. He ordered the chicken parm, I kept it simple and ordered penne vodka. Nice interior and vibe. Nice waitress. I am giving one star because I grew up in the city... next door to Italians my whole life. I have no idea what chef is back there but the pasta I ordered must've had bad tomatoes in it or spoiled cream. My tongue immediately swelled up and I had bumps on my tongue from something very acidic. I proceeded to throw up acid for about 30 min, no exaggeration. This place was very disappointing. I moved to Colorado 5 years ago and my biggest complaint about it is that the Italian food is terrible. Restaurants overcharge for simple dishes like chicken parm and it's sub-par and I always express how much better food is in NY. And then I came here. I ordered the chicken parm and I got half a chicken cutlet with a block of mozzarella cheese on it, it came with a side of potatoes, and it cost $28. It was bland as hell and honestly, tasted worse than what I've had in Colorado. I asked the waiter to split the check and he said yes and still brought us one check. The drinks are way over priced and the overall cost of this place was not worth it at all. There are so many better places in the area. I would recommend trying a different place. read more

I've been to a number of parties (and dinners with my wife) at Eatalia on New Street and I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The food was delicious, prepared with a lot of attention and quality ingredients. The service for both dinner and at parties was 10/10; polite, kind, and most importantly helpful servers and staff. The drinks were delicious (I prefer martinis and my wife mixed drinks) - not too light or heavy with alcohol. Eatalia is the only place I've been to that handles a party with full white glove service. I was asked if I wanted a drink upon arriving and always had servers available to me. If you have any occasion you're looking to celebrate in the near future, please think about Eatalia. We will continue coming back! read more

I haven't posted a review in a long time but I felt like I needed to. I went here post hike and was famished. Anything would've tasted good but the pizza and the pasta tasted so bland and tasteless. Pizza had no flavor with random plop of tomato sauce. Pasta also had no flavor, was very oily, and the noodles were very overcooked. Update: Within one hour of my poor rating (June 6th), Britany S. whom I later learned is the owner's daughter, posted back saying the prices were absurd and asked me to reach out to rectify this mistake. I called the following Tuesday and was told Al, the owner, would call me Wednesday. Thursday I had not heard anything, so I called again. Brittany eventually got on the phone and said I was mistakenly overcharged and she would refund me the overcharge which would take 3 - 5 days to appear on my credit card. Brittany said the price of a mixed drinks is $18. I was charged $24 for one and $23.75 for the other. Note, I was not in Manhattan or a Long Island waterfront eatery. Today is 13 days later and still no refund. I had to contact my credit card company to request a refund through a dispute. Also, I was not mistakenly overcharge. The night of the retirement party when I was given my receipt, I questioned the amount charged with the bartender and he looked at a price list posted on a wall and confirmed the prices I had paid were correct. I had told Brittany that someone is purposely overcharging and pocketing some of the money which she denied. I heard from a friend there was another teachers retirement party held there the following week and that some gossip was going on about the high prices of the drinks. Had a Groupon and decided to go with one of my friends. The Groupon was for the family style menu. They state that each family style dish serves 2-3 people. So we each ordered a dish to share. My friend ordered the rigatoni ala vodka. It was very good and had great flavor! Vodka sauce was great! I ordered the chicken scarpiello. It had hot & sweet peppers, sausage, potato in a white wine sauce. It was tasty as well. Very unique flavor. The potatoes were delicious. The bread served before the meal was just okay. It wasn't served warm, just at room temperature. Instead of butter it was served with an olive oil and seasoning mixture. That was a nice touch. What I didn't like is that the waiters just stand around and watch you eat if they aren't waiting on tables. That's a little uncomfortable. Who likes to be watched while they eat? Not me. SIDE NOTE/FUN FACT: My friend wanted chicken Parmesan to take home. If you order off the restaurant menu it's $21 and doesn't come with pasta. If you order it off of the pizza/cafe menu it's $14.50 and it comes with pasta. Hm, what? Don't pay more for less food....you can thank me later. :D read more

Went here tonight for the first time and we were both super impressed!! First of all the place is huge with both indoor and outdoor seating as well as a private party room. The decor is beautiful and everything was spotless. The server was extremely attentive and the portions were generous! The salads are huge!! We got Caesar salads and margarita pizzettes along with one of the summer cocktails. Everything was delicious and enough to take home for the next day. Very dishonest business. I ordered multiple items for takeout from their menu. Upon picking up and arriving at home I realized that the entire Pie wasn't given to me. I called about my missing pie and they responded that they "didn't give it to me and didn't charge me for it" .We went over the pricing and the pricing didn't add up. They then said "that the webmaster didn't update the online prices and prices went up." Anyways, They said they would amend the pricing and refund me for the missing pizza pie. They are affiliated with a local eatery north of the village which makes reliably good food, Italian soup etc. Eatalia makes authentic Italian served family style. My friend & I tried the restaurant side and ordered shrimp parmigiana, stuffed mushrooms family style. The people were helpful, knew the menu well and confirmed our choices. The menu had plenty of traditional favorites. Eatalia is a step above the local area Italian places, and was super fresh. A safe bet for reliable good Italian. Hosted a 40th Birthday party for a friend in their private party room last night. In a word...fantastic! Al and Greg were extremely attentive and made my guests feel welcome. Went to dinner Thursday for a friend's birthday. I am vegan and know how to order my food at an Italian restaurant but apparently this is impossible if the chef and/or waiter have no communication or idea what it means when someone says they do not eat dairy, eggs or meat/animal products. I asked about a dish with truffle oil. Does it have any dairy or chicken broth in the sauce. The waiter immediately said absolutely no chicken broth. I knew the fresh pasta would have egg so I ordered linguine. I asked him to confirm with the kitchen that this would be a vegan dish and he claimed he did. Based on years of experience, I called him over once again to confirm there would be no animal products in the dish. I apologized, as I do not like to be a difficult patron, but I do want to be certain of what I am eating. Well the dish arrived and I pushed aside the spaghetti (they don't have linguine, which they never bothered to tell me) and all I saw was cream sauce. My friends tried to tell me it was pasta water...nope - I know what I am looking at. I am a cooking teacher and long-time vegan, so I am 100% positive about how food is prepared and what it should look like. I called the waiter over and asked about the cream sauce. He came back from the kitchen with some cockamamie story about how the tomatoes were cooked in salt?!? BS. Not even a chance that was what it was and I never heard of tomatoes cooked with salt turning into cream sauce - if that were the case every vegan would use this technique and I told him that was impossible. Next the manager/owner (not sure who) came over, looked at the dish and asked what I ordered. When I told him he immediately took my plate and said it was cream sauce. Of course it was! I asked if they could just bring me linguine with garlic, oil and broccoli - no pasta water or liquid of any kind in the dish. He said they don't have linguine (what Italian restaurant serves spaghetti rather than linguine) and recommended I get the primavera vegetables. Okay - why not. The next dish came out with what I can only describe as dishwater with no oil whatsoever. Was I not clear? My friends said taste it. I will not taste anything I think is suspect, so one of them tasted the "broth". Even she couldn't place the flavor and said it was simply bad. They felt terrible, but I am used to this and told them not to worry but I wasn't eating it. It sat in front of me in an empty restaurant and I had some bread and oil. The waiter walked by several times and clearly saw I wasn't eating it but never stopped to ask why to get the manager. In the end they took the dish off the bill, but that was absolutely awful service from start to finish. My friends did not care for their food either and none of us will be returning to Eatalia. They could have at least offered me another drink on the house to make up for the disastrous experience. It's no wonder the place was empty in Huntington on a Thursday night at 6:30pm. read more

The owner or manager came outside and invited me back in, served me a cold drink, and offered to call the bus company. As he was on the phone, the bus appeared outside. I bought a groupon deal and it was a steal $25 for fifty dollars worth of food(drinks included as well).Truly loved everything I had. The chicken scarpiello off the bone was my dish and it was beyond what I expected. My boyfriend has the shrimp Fri Diavolo which was mildly spicy because we requested it (wow I will return for that alone). The tiramisu and Cannoli were delicately delicious. Right from the time my wife and I entered the restaurant we were treated with impeccable service and we got lucky that Brittany ( whose family runs the restaurant) personally served us. My wife got the linguine with white clam sauce, which she said was delicious. And I got the papparadelle selese. The papparadelle was home made and cooked to a perfect al dente. And to make our dinner date even more perfect we got their fresh filled cannolis and chocolate mousse cake on the house, thanks to Brittany.
