We had a delicious breakfast - both of us had egg sandwiches at Eatarry and split a croissant. Very good food, excellent service. The food was freshly prepared for us - real eggs, real cheese. We just loved this place! At first we thought it was just a sandwich/deli style eatery, but it offered some very delicious breakfast items! I had their sausage, egg, and bacon sandwich that only cost me about $7.00! The egg was prepared perfectly as well as the bacon and sausage. My husband ordered their oatmeal. At first, I thought, "Oatmeal? How boring!" But at this place they add some fresh fruit to it and I don't know what else, but it looked very appetizing and according to my husband it was very delicious. My breakfast sandwich was served on the best bread I've had in a long time. Super fresh! Nice family running this place! When we visit Westchester again, we will definitely come back here. read more

I want to give this place 4/5 stars cause the food was good but the service was terrible. It was the Monday of labor day weekend so maybe it was a rare, short staffed kinda thang, but... I had brioche french toast which had potential. Bread was good, syrup delish, fruit fresh, but it came cold, like it had been sitting for 10 min before served. My husband got a Kykuit sandwich & chips, again great potential, but literally there were 4 chips on the plate. Super bummer. Came here w/ my husband two littles because the food looked sooooo good. We sit down, manage the high chair and coats and then we wait. And wait. No one took our order or even offered water or a cup of coffee after 30 minutes. People who arrived after us ordered before we were greeted. As we left, with two crying hungry kids in tow, multiple tables of people who arrived after us were served. As we left they had nothing to say to us. This place treated us terribly. Bright spot was Sweet Grass Grill across the street who welcomed us despite it being 10min before opening and brought us delicious muffins for the kids. This place had a lot of breakfast choices to offer and their waffles are delicious. Eggs benedict was delicious and came with a nice side of salad. And service was great. A group of us stopped by Tarrytown early one Saturday on our way to Dia Beacon along the Hudson River, north of NYC. We stopped for brunch. While driving down the Main Street, we were planning to stop by what seemed to be the only diner in town. The diner was grungy...but bustling...serving the same old diner fare. We were asked to wait. While waiting we checked yelp to see if there were any other options. Lo and behold we found Eatarry around the corner off the main street with a single $. Eatarry was spacious, clean and the menu far more interesting than the usual diner sausage and eggs. The four of us ordered four different breakfast menus and they were all well prepared and well presented. Bonus: They serve REAL maple syrup! The coffee was excellent too. I had forgotten how good coffee tasted. (Hopefully if this place gets popular....they don't raise prices). read more

I always love comimg here. I have been to Eatarry for lunch and breakfast. I have had their eggs Benedict and their pumpkin spice pancakes (which I still think about!) For their lunch menu I have had their paninis. My favorite panini is The Kykuit sandwich with the homemade chips! And I would suggest for breakfast having the savory oats! It so good! It's amazing how putting parmesan cheese, basil pesto and poached egg on top works out. Such a creative menu presented in a comfort wholesome way, which I appreciate. It's simple but they mange to always think of ways to create new ways to make a different menu for breakfast. Not only is the food present in a sweet and delightful way, but you can also see that the owners at Eatarry put thought and love in their food by just simply tasting it! They love what they do and it shows. The staff is also great! They have always been so welcoming and friendly. Again it has a wholesome feel to eat. Which I love. Its so nice to come here with family/family to eat or by yourself reading a book eating your Kykuit panini (or whatever you prefer) with a hot teapot next to you. I stopped in after the lockdown to get the tuna sandwich to go, which I believe is the same as what was served at the now-closed Silver Tips Tearoom. In fact, most of the menu items are exactly what was on the Silver Tips menu. Tables were set up just inside the entrance but no one seemed around to take my order. After I stood around for a while, I saw a young boy sitting in the back playing on a tablet. I asked him if there was anyone to take my order. He said his father would but he was next door at the Tarry Tavern. I asked if I should get him and he finally got off the chair to go next door to get his father who came in to take my order. The sandwich is almost as good as Silver Tips but missing a couple of ingredients. It comes with a decent sized salad and I got a white tea. The total tab was $20 which seems like a lot for a tuna sandwich and tea. At Silver Tips, it would have cost no more than $12. Also, I have been here many times before but it was always closed, like maybe Eatarry is just a hobby, not a full time enterprise. The tuna sandwich was delicious and so was the tea. The dressing on the salad was way too tart and vinegary. I'm not sure they're even open any more. read more

They take time to prepare the dishes fresh so while that makes for a great meal, don't expect to be in and out- account for the time and you won't be disappointed. read more

I was looking for a place for lunch for my b-day. Wanted a delicious sandwich. This got great reviews so off we went. The cafe is quite charming in decor, though can get loud, probably b/c it is so old. Brick walls don't so much absorb sound as reflect it. One of us had "The Kykuit" and one had "The Lyndhurst". I got the one with steak, onions and cheddar. It sounds mouthwatering, but it was very bland. I checked to see if there were onions b/c I couldn't taste any. They were there, but there weren't very many of them, so that could be partly why they didn't show up. They also appeared extremely overcooked and shriveled. Not cooked right. The cheese was also bland. It would be much better just with the addition of a sharp cheddar. It did not even taste like it had cheese. So, in order to get some flavor in it, I asked our waitress if they had some bbq sauce. She said no, but I asked if she could check. She did not seem to want to check from her attitude, but it turned out they did. This attitude when I mentioned that this was for my birthday. Not plussed. The addition of the bbq sauce made the sandwich actually have some flavor. I tried the chips and they too were flavorless. My husband didn't even want mine and he loves potato chips. Anyway, my husband, being the nice guy that he is asked if I wanted to have half of his. It was much better than the steak. It had a smoked gouda instead of bland plain cheddar, on ham. I ate half of that sandwich, but it was very greasy and left feeling uncomfortably full. So full that I didn't even want to eat the other half the next day. Just sat in my stomach like a stone. Took long walk after that to try and walk it off. I would also like to note that people stood in the middle of the cafe, talking loudly, with their kid running around. I got the feeling it might have been the owner. The kid was cute, but I didn't really enjoy the couldn't care less vibe of everyone in the place. Took away quite a bit of the charm of the place. I have frequented quite a few different types of cafes (Temptations in Nyack, Reality Bites in Nyack, the now defunct 'Sidewalk Cafe' in Piermont, Geordane's in Irvington has good sandwiches) and never experienced this type of 'I don't care about whether you're here or coming back' vibe. The experience wasn't completely terrible, but it wasn't good either. As such I feel like most of these reviews were left by friends and family of the owner. Just a hunch based on our experience of the food. Perhaps if we had sugary breakfast food too we would have really enjoyed it, but if you are going to put something on your menu, it should be good. It was nice to try someplace I'd never been, but if the food is much less good than what I make at home then I won't return. This was not return worthy IMO. read more

Very delicious paninis for a very reasonable price! Stopped in on Saturday while in the area and looking for some lunch. Both had the Kykuit with ham, gouda and mushrooms amongst other delicious things. The homemade waffle potato chips are a nice touch. Service was great! Very nice cafe. Very quaint...and down the block is a magnificent view of the Hudson River and Tappan Zee Bridge (Yes, I know I said 'Tappan Zee')! Very nice wait staff, as well. Charming village. I had a Ham, Cheddar & Spinach omelet, which was Great; my husband had the warm oatmeal, also really good. I glimpsed a scone with perserves....oooooo!!!! We will return...definitely.
