The stinky tofu was bomb (reminded me of Taiwan), kongxincai with beef, stirfry intestines, oyster pancake~ all yum! I'm actually so happy I don't have to go all the way to queens to get taiwanese food. With all the classics, beef noodle soup, pork chop over rice, chicken leg over rice it reminds me of the many popular places that use to be in flushing. What a memory it brings but the flavors are pretty spot on. The portions are great to have a little lunch the next day. This will be my regular spot. read more

So happy to find authentic Taiwanese food in Syosset!! We ordered take-out and everything was hot and delicious. I haven't had Braised Beef Noodle Soup this good on Long Island before and the Chicken Leg over rice (the rice was the authentic minced pork over rice!!) was awesome! Eatery 19 offers truly authentic Taiwanese cuisine. For those of you who are only with the standard Americanized cooking found in most Chinese restaurants, Taiwanese is an experience you should try. We started with the oyster pancake and stinky tofu. Both were delicious. Don't let the term "pancake' fool you into association with the American dish. This is much different. It is hard to describe the taste except that it blends perfectly with the oysters in it. Stinky tofu... incredibly tasty, but you must be open to something you have not tried and a taste that is not common to western cooking. We finished with Taiwan noodles, which were very nice, yet closer to standard Chinese cooking. I recommend Eatery 19. Finally, the restuarant is very casual and is not big on atmosphere unless (like me) you enjoy the sense of a establishment in Taipei, with Taiwanese news on the screen as you eat. The servers are very friendly - I suspect the guy who served me is one of the owners, and he gave a very accurate description of each dish. read more

A jewel of the crown in Thai food. my go to place when in the area. My father growing up told me a good restaurant is seeing the culture it attracts . when the restaurant is mostly occupied by an Asian based connoisseurs, you know the food is exceptional. it's a quiet atmosphere and the service is excellent. I always order an additional dish to go. when by myself, I order two dishes so not to limit my taste palette. read more

Oh my goodness, this place is wonderful! If you get near here take the time and stop! We shared a meal and it was more than enough we had the Popcorn Chicken appetizer and I can assure you that you have NEVER had popcorn chicken like this before! It was so tender and juicy and lightly breaded strips of chicken and the spice that was on it was like nothing I have ever tasted before!! And we had the Chicken bento box for dinner, the chicken was great the rice had a very flavorful sauce on it there was a hard boiled egg that was seasoned a piece of homemade sausage cabbage salad it was all awesome!! The food is very tasty. Prices have gone up. Portions are small. The $13.99 (was $10.99) plates come with rice and that means half the take out container is rice not the dish itself. Has good potential but needs to offer bigger portions with less rice. read more

Tasty food in a clean, festive environment. We love the triple screen which was playing music videos during each of our visits. On the single screen by the window, the restaurant's team put on a family friendly movie. Staff was super friendly and even offered us ice cream. Food wise, the pork chop bento was perfect - with some of our favorite items such as minced pork rice, Taiwanese cabbage, Taiwanese sausage, egg, pickled veggie plus pork chops! Hit the spot!!! Spicy intestines were DELISH - people who enjoy such food will appreciate it! Our friend enjoyed the cuisine so much that she ordered take-out for her family to try. This place lacks competition, which means they can get away with charging high prices for mediocre food. We've ordered food a few times, they tasted better when they first opened and just went downhill from there (we had to wait 1hr one time for our lunch in the early days, despite having called ahead). Anyway, most recent experience was disappointing: soggy and bland noodles, no texture or flavor at all, addl fees for using credit card (used to be 5% discount for using cash). I guess people just got to low expectations on restaurants in the suburbs. The related and original place in Bayside Nanbeiho, got 3.5 stars, I would say food here is at most comparable if not less, I'm surprised this place garnered 4.5star rating, again speaks to the lack of alternative in the area. read more

Yesterday I ordered Stomach & Sour Mustard Soup, Fried Stinky Tofu, Oyster Pancake, Szechuan Duck Tongues, and Stir Fried Noodle in Sha-Cha Sauce with Chinese Watercress. The Stinky Tofu is not that stinky (I guess it's because of smell concerned in the Long Island neighborhood?), but it's still very tasty. All other food are also fresh and delicious, and all my family members love it! I will come back to try more food tonight. read more

While the service was great. The food wasn't as desirable. The texture and the taste were not up the traditional Taiwanese food I usually get in Flushing, NY. The braised beef just tasted salt. Nothing else; no soil source and other spices taste at all. The color of the 3-cup-chicken is too light and you can tell it is not properly caramelized when prepared. Been here twice so far and both times they didn't disappoint. This spot has kind of like a home cooked food kind of feel and everything we've had here has been delicious. There were some dishes we ordered that seemed to be lacking salt and flavor...especially the hot and sour soup, which is not hot nor sour at all, more like water with food. Pork intestine with pig blood is lacking flavor as well, and the intestine is not tender enough...we asked for some salt to try to save these two dishes but wasn't successful. Minced pork over rice was okay, the flavor is good, but the pork wasn't the right one that should be used in this dish. Fried stinky tofu was good. Oyster pancake taste good but contains very little oysters. These dishes look nothing like the ones on the website. Overall I think their bentos are safer bet, portions are big, but I would avoid everything else. read more

I decide to come here because of the good ratings, but the way the cashier made my girlfriend and I feel wasn't right nor professional. We sat down before 8:00 pm the girl with glasses and short brown hair says "the kitchen closes at 8:30". We already knew what we wanted and ordered right away.As soon as we sat down she decided to opened the restaurant door mind you it's about 50 degrees outside. We asked if she could please close it and she said no because of the smell in the kitchen. We let her know we wanted to go since it was freezing in there.She brought us our check with an attitude and we gave her two cards. We asked to please split it, she did not she used one card then came to the table and asked if i wanted a refund. At this point i just wanted to leave so we did as soon as wwe left she closed the door. The cashier is extremely unprofessional and rude if she didn't want us to eat in she could've of simply said no and we would've done take out. Horrible customer service !!! read more
