Sausage, egg and cheddar cheese (in egg) on a biscuit.

My sister and I saw a video of the huge pancake on social media and thought we'd give it a try. It's right across from the Fredericksburg National Cemetery (battlefield), so we could make an afternoon of it. It was a fun experience! The big pancake was tasty, as was sausage, egg and cheese biscuit I ate. My sister was happy with her omelet and we got a big pizza box to take our pancake home, which we barely dented. Our server, Cindy, was knowledgeable and fun. Loved 90s classics soundtrack. Note: no tipping on your card and checks are paid diner style.

Wonderful place for post game meal

We greatly enjoyed our team breakfast after our game at Publix Virginia Soccer Training Center. Wonderful atmosphere, service and food. Staff was amazing and very accommodating of our large group. Highly recommend for teams looking for great food and service near the fields.

Very cute "local" establishment which is a stones throw from the Fredericksburg National Battlefield. Service was excellent and breakfast was reasonably priced. The food came out quickly. The Mrs. ordered eggs (2), bacon, home fries and pancakes. The server as if she wanted a large pancake or smaller ones. She ordered "smaller." I ordered the biscuits with sausage gravy, home fries and eggs (2) over easy. We saw the server delivering a large pancake to a nearby table. LOL It must have been a minimum of 12"!!! Crazy big. Both choices were $13.99. Keep in mind, that includes coffee so we thought the prices were very reasonable. We both enjoyed it a lot. After that big breakfast, no lunch was required. I'm deducting one star because my eggs were cooked beyond "easy" and the potatoes in the home fries were diced to small for my liking.

This is the only place I know that has scrapple and makes it nice and crispy. I love it here. Service is friendly and the food is priced correctly. The environment here feels very neighborly.

    Our Scrapple.

Sunday's are usually our morning outing for breakfast at Battlefield Restaurant, the service is usually good and the owner is really nice, but we went a couple of times when she wasn't there and it wasn't so good, so we brought it to the owner attention about our serving of scrapple that was paper thin and the people eating next to us scrapple was very thick, we are African American and the people next to us were Caucasian after three times of seeing this we started feeling some kind of way, issue was not fixed, and the apology was not sincere we will not be going back.

Single Biscuit and cup of sausage gravy

Heard about this place for a while and finally stopped in on a weekday morning... Service was great! The place is like an old style, neighborhood diner... I definitely loved the vibe. The menu is loaded with all the normal breakfast and lunch items you'd expect from an American-style (not Greek) diner. Prices are very reasonable too! But take cash for the tip, as they don't add tips to their credit card receipts. I tried their corned beef hash omelet and found it interesting to learn that they make 2 or 3 egg omelets, and the ask you which you want when you order... I've never seen this before, but I liked it... having a choice is nice when deciding how big your omelet will be! I also ordered a cup of sausage gravy with it, as it came with a biscuit. The omelet was really good! Their house-made shredded potatoes were excellent, especially with onions added! And their sausage gravy was great! The biscuit was also perfectly done. In all, this was a really nice, tasty breakfast!! Highly recommend stopping in!! Plus - you never know who you might see here... A recent national celebrity was there the morning I went... Someone who recently won "The Voice" was just having breakfast and socializing in a very chill atmosphere... Awesome!

Love this place! They are one of few places that offer turkey bacon/sausage as an option (up charge). They have the biggest pancakes I've ever seen if you decide to get those. Love the fried potatoes as well. They staff is always nice as well. Today one of the staff assisted me with carrying my food to my vehicle bc I had purchase those huge pancakes. Definitely a must try

The food is well cooked and served hot. I wished I could have tried a lot more of the menu... but it was a quick stop on the way home from a beach vacation. For such a small restaurant... there are a lot of seats and looks to be able to even host a large party of 15-20 on a long bench. The Gus burger was hearty, beef patty was thick and delicious... the fries are interesting... like a hybrid between a fry and potato chip. The onion rings are large and seem to have a funnel cake coating! Crispy and well fried. The French toast is thick and fluffy and the bread density is amazing! My daughter also enjoyed the bagel and cream cheese... The BLT is filled with beautiful pieces of ham and turkey... it's so hearty! Our bartender/server was Lashone and she was funny, fast and friendly! She was pouring drinks for the ENTIRE restaurant and didn't miss a beat!! The breakfast menu is small but everything sounded fantastic. I chose the Steak Tacos; my husband chose the brie and bacon frittata (added by the chef since the quiche was sold out. Steak tacos were delicious (see pic). Menu said they had steak, cheesy scrambled eggs, tomato salsa, breakfast potatoes and cilantro. I didn't see or taste any potatoes, but the tacos were still delicious! I'd only recommend draining the salsa through a sieve because of the excess juice affecting the integrity of the tortilla. My husband's frittata was awful. The eggs were dry; he compared them to "eggs at the bottom of the warming tray at a cheap breakfast buffet." The chef also served a side salad alongside. My husband asked about subbing potatoes and Ms. Lashone made it happen. She was the star of our brunch: drinks were delicious, the conversational quips were quick and funny. She was attentive without being intrusive and made sure we felt welcomed and taken care of. 5 stars for her and my food; 1 for the frittata. I don't want to average it and tank the rating. We'll be back soon to see Lashone!

We were able to order whatever drink we wanted on the menu. For food, they brought trays out buffet style. We tried a variety of things. The star of the show was the Brussels sprouts. They were cooked to perfection and had a great sweet sauce. I enjoyed the salad too. They also brought out wings, mini burgers, mini fried chicken sandwiches, and tuna. Some were overcooked, but the flavor was nice. The seating was a bit awkward for a group our size in the private room, but we made it work. It was nice how casual it was.

At 12:25 p.m., the hostess informed us they were catching up on tables but that we would be seated soon. At 12:30 p.m., we were finally seated. Our waitress did not greet us warmly, make eye contact, introduce herself, or provide any information about the restaurant or menu. At 12:45 p.m., we ordered our food and drinks, and at 12:50 p.m., our drinks arrived. Around 1:30 p.m., we realized our food still had not come out, while other tables being served by our waitress were receiving prompt and friendly service. Our waitress passed our table four times without stopping to provide an update on our food or apologize for the extensive wait time. We were finally able to get her attention and politely asked about the status of our order. Without an apology or acknowledgment of our experience, she responded that she would tell the chefs to "rush" our order. We never asked for our food to be rushed -- we simply wanted an update because we had already been waiting far longer than expected. When our food was eventually brought out by another staff member, it was cold after nearly two hours of waiting. At that point, my husband asked to speak with the manager because not only was the wait time unacceptable, but the food was also cold. The manager eventually came to our table, apologized for the delay, and offered to discount the meal. My husband thanked him for the apology, but by that point, we decided the experience was not worth salvaging. We told the manager we did not want the cold food or watered-down drinks. Not only was our Mother's Day celebration ruined, but the lack of accountability from the staff and the poor customer service made the entire experience extremely disappointing. Service: The first impression was a little mixed. The hostess wasn't very welcoming when we asked about a booth for our family of five (two adults and three younger kids) and didn't seem open to exploring the option. Thankfully, our server, DeQuandre (Deq?), completely turned that around. He was friendly, attentive, and offered great recommendations. We appreciated his visits as he was energetic and very hospitable, highly recommend asking for him when you visit. Food: We started with the buffalo dip. It comes with chips, but Deq was awesome and add some pita, which was a great call. The pita was slightly crisped (almost lightly fried) but still soft inside and paired perfectly with the dip, which had great flavor and good chunks of chicken. For burgers, we ordered the Spicy Wrangler (March 2026 Burger of the Month) and the Whiskey Burger. The Wrangler had a lot going on but the flavors worked well together. The Whiskey Burger was delicious, the sauce was a bit sweeter than I usually prefer, but the bacon was excellent. Only critique would be the burgers were slightly underdone even for medium, but still enjoyable. The onion rings were a standout, though the breading-to-onion ratio leaned a little heavy. The fries were decent but nothing particularly great about them. Atmosphere: Casual and open, but fairly loud. Even though it wasn't very busy for a Sunday lunch, the music and bar noise made it a little difficult at times to hear others at our table. I wouldn't consider this a date night type atmosphere, more casual open dining. Drinks: Solid beer selection with enough variety for most tastes, plus a small cocktail menu and a selection of wines. Overall: Harry's Downtown is a solid spot for a casual lunch or dinner. If you're in the mood for a good burger, or consider yourself a bit of a burger enthusiast, it's definitely worth checking out. This visit was positive enough to plan another visit to explore other delicious sounding menu items. We'll definitely be requesting Deq when we return! Thank you!
