Been both a fan and a critic of Harry's since they opened. I've maneuvered my way around their challenges with different types of fries, and various versions of Fish and Chips. I have to tell you now you've nailed the fish. Perfectly breaded and fried, with a portion that could feed 2. I applaud you now Harry's, though shoe string fries are not ideal on a Fish and Chips platter, the coleslaw is good and fish is wonderful. So, who needs fries?!?! read more

Heard amazing reviews about this place and took our family for the first and last time today. Three of us ordered three different burgers, we all asked for medium and they all came out beyond well done. My husband hates mayonnaise and the special sauce was mayonnaise! It was covered all over the burger and on the menu there is no mention of mayonnaise. We all took one bite of our burgers and that was it, awful! Zero flavor, dry, just awful. My daughter ordered the chicken finger basket and the chicken was also dry! We have never been to a restaurant where we didn't eat our food. Our waiter was amazing though. So disappointing and I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Added ourselves to the wait list before driving out. 30 minute drive. Arrived, only to be told that no, we weren't on the wait list. Presented the confirmation, only to be told that it must be for Harry's Downtown, despite it clearly showing Harry's Fredericksburg. We visited on a Wednesday evening and were able to walk right in and be seated. The place is located in a shopping center with plenty of parking out front. Unfortunately I forgot a phone charger so I was not able to take pictures to attach to this review but we loved the theme of the place. All of the walls were covered in photos of customer's dogs, so cute! We had the pork tostadas as an appetizer, which were really good! The fish and chips were also good, with a great flavor to the breading. The kids were given some bendy straw building toy which kept them occupied the night. Our waiter was friendly and the food came out quick. Great place that we hope to visit again soon. read more

Excellent beer selection, but I was the only one tonight willing to try. I like a stout and it was delightful. Everyone enjoyed their meal, compliments all around the table. We've been coming here frequently over the past year but have noticed a marked decline in quality and consistency of the food. Even the wait staff jokes about it. The bar is always fun to sit at because the bar tenders are great, but we've grown tired of the lack of quality control in the kitchen. Eggs - you never know what you'll get. Fries - sometimes they're good, other times inedible. Potato chips - appreciate the lack of salt but mine had raw spots probably from clumping together. Smash burger - no cheese. Etc. read more

Harry's in West Fred is very unassuming as it's located in a strip mall in between a random dentist and a great clips location. I was super hesitant when we rolled up and saw the establishment hours printed in comic sans on the front window - to me, that's never a good sign. I hope you're a dog lover, because once you step in here, the walls are decorated by the cutest pictures of dogs on so many walls, even in the booths. I thought this was a really cute touch and made up for the comic sans. I wasn't sure what to expect as I just moved to Virginia and this area is full of chain restaurants, but it was a cool vibe with neat lighting. It was relatively busy in the dining area, but the bar was POPPING! Our waiter was attentive and super personable and made dining a breeze. The appetizer list was full of goodies and we got the chili nachos. These were actually great as the chili had a perfect flavor to it. I wish there were more chips, but that's always the problem with a nacho appetizer. I would absolutely order this again. My husband ordered the Savannah Burger and was super happy with it, however I did try the fries and they seemed pretty bland and a little soggy. His burger looked super juicy though and I would be tempted to try a burger in the future and hope the fries come out better. I also wasn't expecting him to get fries since nothing on the menu indicates you would get fries as a side. I got the Korean BBQ wings. As a former Buffalonian, my expectations for wings are quite high, so I feel like I have to break this down into a few bits. First off, I really wish they would note how many wings are included in the entree on the menu. I feel like that's an oversight to understand what you're actually getting. For 14 dollars, you only get 8 wings, which is honestly highway robbery. That being said, the way the wing was fried was perfect. A lot of places don't go enough or end up overfrying. Harry's got this right to a tee. I love that they offered ranch (ew) and the classic blue cheese with their wings. When it came to the sauce, since I got Korean BBQ, I was expecting sweet, savory, tangy, and spicy. Something I'd expect getting a meat from a KBBQ spot. Instead, it just tasted like a watered down gochujang sauce that was hot. There wasn't really enough flavors blended to make this hit the spot if you wanted the taste of KBBQ. That being said, I would absolutely try other flavors of wings from them. Even being tossed in the sauce, they had a good bite and were fried to perfection, which will always let a good sauce shine. Harry's Alehouse is a must go to. I've been here a few times and have never been disappointed with the food. When you first walk in you see pictures of dogs everywhere and feel like a local. The atmosphere is casual and inviting. The food has been great every time I've been here. I ordered their Sweet Vidalia Onion Rings to start with and they were the best onion rings I've ever had. They are made to order and so light and crispy. For my entree I ordered the Louisiana Pasta. It was delicious and flavorful. Their food doesn't make you feel like a stuffed pig rolling out of the restaurant despite being filling. Their service is always great. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff who actually try most things on the menu themselves. The staff always have great things to say about Harry's food. I would definitely recommend Harry's Alehouse if you want delicious food and great service! You might have a bit of a wait sometimes due to them being so popular but the food is always worth the wait. read more

It just opened, and boy oh boy, people were hungry!. Foodies rule?, we order 2 things and then we share. For the price that it has , it was worth every damn penny. The burgers we ordered were the whiskey burger, and the 52 burger of the week, which is the chicken fried steak burger. Both was really good. The whiskey burger had that smokey, and sweet flavor. The meat was cooked to our liking. It was cooked medium rare. The crispiness of the bacon , and onion rings , gave it that texture that it needs. The chicken fried steak ? Well damn!! It has a breakfast sandwich feel to it. The bread was perfectly toasted , and besides the breading of the beef, the onions also gave it that crunch. There were layers and layers of flavors. Textures and flavors are key! Let's talk about the sides. We had the fries, and the onion rings. We did a "double dip". Try it! We did a dip in ketchup, and the vinegar. It was smokey sweet delicious. Basically at the end of the meal, we gained the weight, we gained a big smile, and we were just content. Yay! read more

Nice atmosphere & great service. I highly recommend their Apple Bacon Bleu Cheeseburger! Cooked perfectly medium rare (a good amount of pink and red) with lots of flavor. I'm a sucker for anything with bleu cheese! Our server Nick was great as well. I wasn't a big fan of their Margherita Flatbread, so I would stick to burgers and other things on the menu when I go there again. All and all, a good experience!! So good! Love this place! It has a neighborhood pub kind of feel, with friendly staff. The food was like pub food as well. Delicious, hot and like most tasty pub food you will need napkins for your greasy fingers. They do have some healthy options, but we didn't go to eat healthy. We had a couple drinks (they have a full bar), fried pickles as an appetizer and fish and chips for dinner. Ok, so I see all the great reviews. That wasn't our experience. First, I tried to explain a snakebite to the waitress. I didn't call it that, but that's what it was. She interrupted me in the middle and said "the bartender won't do that, I know for sure!". I immediately ordered a coke. Cuz...Im not paying for a drink and tip for someone who either can't listen or can't make a drink. Anyway, my wife ordered a burger well done with nothing but cheese. Her burger arrived medium well (definitely had pink) with everything on it. Fyi: after we told her about the burger, she never again (the whole visit) asked my wife if she needed anything at all. It only got worse... This picture is the second burger which seems like someone tried to catch it on fire before serving it... When we asked for a knife, we were brought a steak knife, as if they knew that no other knife was gonna cut the shoe leather they just served us. By the way, she never asked how this burger was...
