Brunch was absolutely wonderful! The food was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully prepared. Our server Kevin was attentive In Silver Diner the atmosphere made the experience even better. Every one was friendly, we had a situation with a meal, Imediately The Manager Vito addressed the situation, resolved it and a everything was good again he definitely provided excellent customer service Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, and I would highly recommend experiencing the vibe here at Silver Diner on Rio.

My latest breakfast experience was quite good. I was impressed that for the $11.99 blue plate special, I got a sizeable cheese omelet, 2 pieces of toast, fresh fruit cup, glass of orange juice (large) and an endless cup of coffee. My hub went with the lumberjack breakfast, which I sampled, and it's pretty darn yummy. I love that the syrup was warmed before being brought to the table. Sofia G. was our server and she rocks big time. Finally, this location opens at 6:30 AM. That's incredibly early for the DMV. Kudos, Silver Diner.

Everything was good this morning! We were seated promptly in a sunny window seat. I had the California omelet with salad on the side. I was able to eat half and am taking the rest for later. My dear had a western omelet with potatoes. They use red skinned potatoes for their home fries now. The food was hot and tasty. The menu changes seasonally and there are always fresh options. The server was clearly new so we had to ask for many things that a seasoned server would ask or bring. The service was slow. That's okay we all have to learn sometime.

Representing 2020 in alphabet series, S is for Silver Diner. Been to various Silver Diners in MD & VA over the years. I visited this location at least once, which was in February 2020 to use my birthday deal, which was free entree AND dessert. Six years later, I'll be going again for my birthday deal at the Columbia location (closest to my home now), and Chef Ype will be there tomorrow. Sometime in 2020's, they wanted at least some visits in the year; so you only got the birthday deal if you visited a certain # of times in the year, but I went multiple times in 2025 (all to Columbia, once to Greenbelt location), so I earned my birthday deal for early 2026. This location is a bit small compared with some like Columbia. Service was good though in spite of some crowds on that Saturday at lunchtime. I got some steak, green, mashed potato, & onion straws. I don't like onions, but in fried form they are ok. It was pretty solid steak as was everything else. My dessert was the best part I think. Desserts are a strong category here. I got some red cake dessert.

This is a great place to eat vegan food. My daughter and I had the vegan smash burger with Beyond meat, Just Eggs Benedict, and the mocha cold brew vegan shake. Everything on our table was vegan. And it was all delicious! The pesto really made the Eggs Benedict for me, giving it that great basil flavor. The Smashburger came on a ciabatta bun, which I didn't think I wanted but was super tasty! It included barbecue sauce and vegan slaw. But the best part is the vegan shake. OMG! Really good. There are several other options on the vegan menu too. Chef Ype has done an outstanding job of creating a vegan menu at the Silver diner.

I had such a great experience at Silver Diner! The food was absolutely amazing--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The customer service was excellent from start to finish. Note this silver diner is very popular and has a high volume of patrons at any point of the day.

I go to silver diner more often than I care to admit. I'm surprised I haven't reviewed it since at this point is my "go to/failsafe" spot all over the DMV. The food is decent at all of them. The difference is in the service and the location. I prefer the national harbor/the one across from the nationals ballpark and the one by Tyson's corner. The one in Alexandria and Rockville are decent as well. Some of the others aren't as clean and service isn't as prompt but you will definitely get nice enough ambiance you can talk and enjoy your meal. For a chain, they can't really get a 5 star unless their service is more upscale.

Went here twice recently for breakfast and it is a top notch place. The servers are awesome and answered questions about the menu and were quick to offer heaters for the coffee. The feel is that of a classic diner which can be hard to find sometimes. My colleagues from Sweden commented that it look just like the diners in the movies with the red leather booths. The eggs Benedict with smoked salmon was spot on and the pancakes represented the American Diner well. Weill be back again for sure!!

Everyone loves the Silver Diner. It's an iconic dmv staple with a cute diner aesthetic. Go there and you will see a mix of everyone -- young families, couples on dates, high schoolers celebrating after a sports game, etc. I appreciate their large menu with healthy and local options. My family got: fish and chips, Cobb salad, shrimp and salmon special, Thai cauliflower quinoa pasta, warm roasted local veggie salad, salmon, and an Oreo milkshake to share. All delicious, with large portions, enough to take some home!

The food is always great - the food is creative and locally sourced. The decor is up to date and oozes diner all the way. The service is great and the servers have all been there forever - like a family-friendly place to go anytime of day or night!

Came into silver diner with my girls. I was not in the mode to eat much but wanted to go out. When we got there we were seated quick. The waitress came and asked what we would like to have. The girls wanted to get appetizer so, I asked her if they had mozzarella sticks. She pointed to the menu and said that the first appetizer and small plates had it. I asked how many does it come with. She said 6, I thought it was perfect 3 for each child, so I ordered it . We ordered cranberry juice, apple juice, and strawberry lemonade. When the appetizer arrived, They were not mozzarella sticks, it was mozzarella, spinach, and artichoke egg rolls. Something the girls do t eat. :( She was attentive and kept coming back to check in on us. I did mention to her that this is not what I ordered and that there was a miscommunication if she could take it back and I order the old Bay fried shrimps you can choose from either 10 or 6. The girls both had the burger sliders for kids ages 12 and under with fries . They loved it and finished it all. Overall, the shrimps were really good. I like both of the sauces. The overall, the shrimps were really good. I like both of the sauces it came with.banana pepper relish and house made kewpie tartar. Will I come back, yes.

We had our daily over and went there for a second time! It was lovely as usual- good was amazing.. and now I know where to get the best milkshake in town! We got the Nutella banana and it hit the spot! Server was great and they had a Sunday special... a balloon maker! It was fun to see all the different things he was creating and was very good and conversing with the kids! We got a bunch of different types of good (as always a GREAT selection for vegetarians). French toast (all/ both kinds) are still a group favorite!

Luke Warm Food-But Great Service! Today I treated a friend to lunch @Silver Diner/Rockville. Firstly this "2" Star Review reflects the food. The restaurant was very busy upon our arrival early afternoon. After a few minutes wait we were seated; our server arrived minutes later. I ordered a cheeseburger/fries. My friend ordered fish/chips. Our orders came rather quickly; based upon the busyness of the restaurant. We took a few bites of our meal & realized our food was "lukewarm" not very hot. My friend felt her fish was also over cooked-the outside too browned. Thus not very appealing. We did not complain because we were hungry. It's wasn't the worst meal. It definitely was not as good as our previous meal in January. On the positive side Generous Portions. See Photos. The customer service Great.

When a burger without certain ingredients was ordered, one waiter rudely said "then what do you want on the burger" however, the burger still had plenty of ingredients listed, that the person ordering didn't ask to be left off. It's difficult to order a plain burger with the only burger on the menu has bacon and cheese. The food is standard fare. Burgers, sandwiches, salads. The chef pays attention to allergens. I've tried the shrimp roll, the Caesar salad, and the turkey club. All of these can be made gluten free, although the menu doesn't denote it. Another in my party enjoyed the shrimp tacos and the burger. Being inside the Marriott, it is a little overpriced, but the food is good, just hit or miss with service. My philosophy is that there are simply too many restaurants in the world to return to a bad one. However, I was not aware that Glenwood's has upped its game. A lot! A helluva lot!!! While the ownership is still the same, everything else has changed - for the better! The dining room is neutral and completely understated. Quiet interior. Hushed energy and soft music. Beautiful finishes. Every surface I touched was clean, warm and modern. The service too was excellent. The hostess was friendly. She led us to one of the biggest booths I have ever occupied. Our server, Erika, was friendly too - also fast, good, charming, well-spoken and hard working. She helped us navigate the menu and made our dining experience really really nice. She is a credit to the restaurant! Of course, you go to a restaurant for the food and Glenwood's does NOT disappoint here either. Based on Erika's suggestion, we started with the Ahi Tuna Battera - a kind of sushi "roll" that is shaped/designed more like layered lasagne (Erika's description, not mine). It was great and almost too big for appetizer size. But I'm not complaining! For our main course, we both ordered the Fire Roasted Rotisserie Chicken. OMG! Delicious. Moist moist MOIST!!! I do not know what the chef put in that marinade but it was out of this world fantastic. Big big BIG!!! A half chicken with plenty of succulent meat on it. Neither one of us spoke until our chickens were picked clean. I only wish I could rotisserie a chicken that good! It was one of the best chickens I have ever eaten. For dessert, we gobbled down the cheesecake, making official gluttons out of ourselves! It was creamy, substantial and the perfect finish to our great meal. The negative to Glenwood's is its location. It is in a non-descript Rockville office building that is nothing special; but locked up and dark at nighttime. There is no other retail business within sight of the restaurant. This weird, lonely location gives it an abandoned - almost desolate - ambiance from the exterior. Driving by, I had almost thought it was a dining room for a retirement home. So, I started out this review by explaining that my bad experience at Stanford Grill kept me from enjoying a good dining experience at Glenwood's. I could not ignore the taint Stanford had given that place. But Glenwood's is a completely different place. The menu had so many great dishes that I want to return and try. I will definitely be back and I can see it becoming "my place." I highly recommend Glenwood's for a great meal in a great restaurant!

The cookies were amazing, we got s'mores and Thai banana. Yum, they were soft and chewy and so good! I would come back just for the sweet potato fries and cookies hahaha. But truly everything was made to impress. Loved my meal and would come back!

Solo Diner: I visited Summer House for a Friday lunch with a reservation at 2:30pm. When I arrived,…read morethe dining room and patio were bustling. Lots of large parties inside. I had to wait a few minutes for the host to return to the stand, but was seated promptly and a 4-top table in the center of the dining room. Service was attentive and polite. My water glass stayed full throughout and she helped me navigate the differences among several espresso martini options from the bar. The dining room has lovely high ceilings and the bathrooms were pristine. I ordered the Costa Mesa salad and added chicken. This brought the cost of my entree to $32 -- which I did not feel met the value for what I was served. The food was good, but there certainly wasn't enough of it or ingredients that I felt warranted the $32 price tag. I also took home four cookies ($5-$6 each) to share with my family. The cookies were good, but again, not worth the price tag. A return visit is probably not in the cards for me any time soon. This is a convenient spot to the iPic Theater and other "downtown" rockville spots so it might be nice to get brunch and then go to a movie or do some shopping. Parking is in a garage nearby.

But everyone was nice and cashiers were patient even when I couldn't decide what to eat LOL and the line was getting backed up. I couldn't decide right away cuz I was getting nervous the line was getting long so I got steak and egg. Classic meal, well worth the price! Large portion for potatoes too! I need to come back to try other items on the menu. There is too much to choose from, especially the Latin fusion section which surprised me it was even on the menu when I first saw it!

I want to love this place but it really doesn't love me back…read more PROS * Nice menu, some healthy food options * Coffee is above average for the area and better than Starbucks * Love the outdoor area, good service CONS * The emphasis on liquor kinda kills the coffee shop vibe. I get that's way more lucrative than coffee but I mean ... insert the name of the shop. * Food is higher priced for smaller portions and lately has not been good. I most recently ordered the Impossible Burger (which I've ordered before) and it was *not* good. * The big TV running what looks like a looped investor presentation, which is weird and distracting. I get that I can sit outside away from it but you can't do that year-round and when it's very hot or very cold you get an eye full of ... whatever that is.
