We tried this diner for the first time and it was pretty good. We were seated promptly for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and our server was wonderful. Typical diner food with big portions and average seasoned items. What sets this diner apart are the ginormous milkshakes. We tried the strawberry cheesecake milkshake and oh boy was it delicious. Restaurant Week 2021 review.. portions were normal not skimmed down, food hot and good. My only gripe about this visit was the server was meh but I know this isn't the norm because I've received great service the other times I've eaten here. On this visit I chose the REAL Jumbo lump crab cake, Greek salad, veggie soup and chocolate chip cannoli. All of this was $35.21 + tip, I mean you can't beat that. What you need to know first is I ate here with a large group of friends and it was so good a smaller group of the same friends and I went back LITERALLY three days later. These milkshakes.... Seriously they are enough for a meal but is that all I ordered? No! I ordered the New Orleans chicken sandwich as well. Why is this not pictured? I ate it before I thought about it. I was licking my fingers by the time I noticed. The second time we went I got the Maryland burger and the same thing happened. My friend, not as enthusiastic as I am ordered the Jack ranch fries and managed to take a picture before I got my fingers in them. The Philly cheese egg rolls... the sauce definitely has an unexpected kick to it but it paired perfectly with the rolls. So worth it. read more

Just don't. It is diner shaped, but that is its only draw. Very disappointed as we went to MD from VA for a diner! Food is worse than hospital food. Waitress was awful. Especially when compared to the visibly pregnant waitress who was working harder than she should have been. Couple next to us ordered beer and were given bottles and were not offered glasses. Floor could have been cleaner. Specialty milkshakes looked disgusting in the menu photo--the "breakfast" coffee milkshake with bacon and cheerios... Super impressed with this place. We did restaurant week carryout. This was our first time eating from EC diner. Crab cakes, fried shrimp, Maryland crab soup and cannolis were amazing. The crab cakes had very little filler and fantastic flavor, the shrimp was crispy and the cannolis were delicious. I would easily say best crab cakes in Howard county. All of that for $29! I suggest to eat sparsely before getting this desert because it's highly plausible that you will not finish this deliciousness!! So me and my partner @aquarius.sun_pisces.moon decided not to get any entree's from their vast, delectable looking menu...we just copped some Jersey fries (in the video-$7-fries with mozzarella and gravy), and their Fried Mac n Cheese rounds (in the video-$9-served with marinara dipping sauce). A mistake was made with our order, that was corrected, so we were served some delicious crab fries initially (swipe right to see the video). Ok the Crazy Milkshakes I got was their Strawberry Cheesecake shake (pictured $13) that had a slice of New York Cheesecake on it, drizzled in strawberry sauce, with vanilla frosting, and crushed graham crackers on the rim, and whipped cream on top of a thick, creamy, milkshake!! DELICIOUS!! This is definitely my favorite restaurant ever. Every time we go we are greeted with such friendly faces and the best food in town. The drinks are great and you get a lot of bang for your buck. Great accessibility- they are all so kind to me, my boyfriend, and my service dog. They seat us right away, serve up the best greek food in town, and keep us coming back for more with their wonderfully friendly service and conversations. Shocked that this was my 1st time here. I came on a Sunday for breakfast/brunch. There was a line but a short wait. The service was fast. It's 2023 and unfortunately they don't have flavored coffee or flavored coffee creamers. I ordered the hot chocolate instead along with the French Toast platter. I ordered what appeared to be a delicious strawberry cheesecake to take home for later. I was disappointed when I discovered that it was half cheesecake and half cake. I am sharing my unfortunate first-time and last experience with this restaurant. I am not commenting on the food since I did not get to enjoy it. I am commenting on the unprofessional and undesirable service I received from the hostess tonight. I was so embarrassed and disappointed on her behavior that I did not see myself eating there. I took my Daughter and Father, who was in town visiting, out for dinner and was excited to try this diner. My daughter went in first as I stayed a little behind walking with my Dad who has some mobility issues and is also a big tall man. Unknowingly, my daughter asked to be seated at a booth which would not work for my Dad. The hostess took us right to the booth in the far back corner surrounded by already full tables. As she waited for us at the booth, I signaled her to come over where we were at about the middle of the room so I could ask for a different accommodation for my Dad. After a couple of unsuccessful attempts I approached her and politely asked if we could please seat at a table instead. She was visibly upset about my request. She just set our menus on the table closest to us and left us there. So, we proceeded to sit down and waited for a server feeling a bit awkward. I then see a server looking at us and mumbling something to another person about us seating there. Then the hostess came and talked to that server about us, in Spanish, in a rude and unprofessional tone. This was right in front of us. They did not realize that Spanish is our first language. The server then signaled in English she would be right over. When she came over to our table I politely explained to her, in Spanish, my disappointment and embarrassment for having being treated that way. I told her I had been respectful and had just requested to be seated at a table for my Dad who has a condition. The server apologized profusely and was nice to us but the damage was done. I was so upset! We just stood up and left. It does not matter if you have great food if you are not taking the time to train your employees to provide good customer service and even treat people with basic respect. We ended up dining happily at Glory Days where we were treated wonderfully and the food was good too. I love supporting our local places and I am not one to complain much. But this bothered me so much I had to share. I hope EC Diner management wakes up and addresses this issue if they do not want to this to become their norm in their business. The people seemed very nice during the pickup. Had the country fried steak, crab cake, waffle, and chocolate chip pancakes. Everything seemed fine but was missing the extra gravy and English muffins we requested. It's thanksgiving and these things happen to any business. I'm a regular @ the EC diner my husband and I frequent at least three times a month. I always usually get seated on the left side of the diner where Dorothy my favorite hostess serves ! She knows exactly what I like seafood Mediterranean with Alfredo and fettuccine noodles and it's AWESOME WHEN Dorothy is there, never the less our server was Oscar he was OK but very busy WASN'T REALLY attentive to my daughter and I but nonetheless we tipped him 25%. I noticed my fettuccine was a lil over cooked and very dry . There must have been a different Chef today on this lovely Sunday , because it doesn't taste the same , either the love is missing or the Chef was overwhelmed possibly a different Chef. I know my el dente noodles my palette knows the importance of the processing steps of executing an incredible delicious Alfredo sauce because I'm a CHEF! We will still buy them though since the kids love them. Can get pretty crowded but have never had to wait too long. I'm gonna be generous because of Covid. The correct rating is 3.5. This diner is expensive. 1 meal, 1 appetizer and 2 milkshakes was $45. I've been jonesing for some crabby fries and still am today. The crab dip was none existent and smothered in cheddar cheese. My mom had a Fred Flintstone sized order of ribs that were fall of the bone tender.
