EC Roofing recently did a fantastic job on our two-story home in east Long Beach. They were priced reasonably based on comparison with other contractor bids. I was very impressed from the start with how our project leader Jake, came out within a few hours of my call: walked, measured, and specifically addressed the areas that I knew in advance would be significant problem areas (rafter, shiplap and fascia board in the lower ~70 year old roof rafters and deck). EC roofing fixed it everything I was aware of, and more, with high quality lumber. Every day (~4 days) they arrived promptly to be able to start at 8am and before they left, cleaned up and put away everything neatly with sidewalks swept. They finished right on their projected schedule, took out the LB city permit which passed with no issues. I would give them an A+ more than 5 stars if possible. We interviewed multiple roofing companies before making a decision because we wanted to feel like we were working with the best. In our case, we were contemplating the installation of new solar panels as well and were looking to find a roofer who could coordinate with our solar installer to minimize cutting into the new roof. Our home contractor had recommended ec-roofing to us. Eric C. came over and looked at our roof and provided information along with an estimate. We felt very comfortable with Eric who had successfully worked with a separate solar installation company (Nexgen Construction) on other projects. We also drove by other roofs that Eric C. had done and liked what we saw. When we decided to proceed, we did have to wait in his queue for a few months. However, we feel that it was well worth the wait. Him and his crew were wonderful. They were fast, efficient, courteous and professional. They always cleaned each day before they left. Several of our neighbors have already approached us remarking on how good the roof looks and asking for their contact information which we happily provided. Our new roof looks fabulous and is so pretty that I can't stop staring at it. The roof type we chose is The Landmark Pro Solaris, in Georgetown Gray. Re roofing a newly painted house can be an anxiety ridden process. Of course typically you would install the roof first then paint. After interviewing two other roofing companies outside of my area, I decided to call EC. From the start Eric's communication as a Contractor was spot on. Once I received the estimate which wasn't the highest nor the lowest, I decided to use EC based upon his communication and work quality completed for a neighbor in my area. Keep in mind if a roofer is 2-4 months or more out, this is not a bad thing. Eric made recommendations for color along with material types available within California cool roof codes. E C Roofing company was extremely thorough in preparing my apartment unit's roof. They pressured sprayed all the dirt and grime using detergent then rinsed the entire roof. Eric and Jax used an air blower to completely dry the roof before applying a new silicone based reflective white finish on the entire roof and all flashings, pipes, etc. They used GacoFlex S4200 silicone coating which has a factory warranty for 50 years! EC Roofing and Eric did a bangup job on my new roof. After purchasing my first house, I discovered that the existing roof was approaching the end of its lifespan, and with three layers of shingles on it already on the main house and two layers on the addition, it was time for a tear off and re-roof. I contacted several roofing companies, and while EC Roofing wasn't the absolute cheapest, Eric provided great quotes, was super responsive, and even waited for me when I completely forgot about our quote appointment and went out for a bit. I appreciated that he provided a list of projects he's worked on upfront, allowing me to view the work around the neighborhood, and even his own house! I travel a lot for work, and with deployments as well, I had a really hard time squaring away a date. Eric worked with my schedule, and after surviving the dry winter of 2017-2018, I finally had a new roof installed in the spring of 2018, complete with an upgrade to cool roof materials. This means that after well over half a year from the initial quote, along with months of radio silence from me, Eric was still responsive and honored his original quote. He even still knew the exact project. I also appreciated that he was upfront and transparent about his supplier, allowing me to visit the yard to pick out the shingle type/style, and also allowed me to pay the yard directly, which let me put the materials cost on my credit card and earn those points! The crew was on time each day, left the place neat and clean when they were finished, and ensured they hauled out all debris and even took out an old mattress boxspring that had been left behind from the garage. The new roof looks great, the new low profile vents seem to be working, and after a summer, it has held up like a champ now over this incredibly rainy winter of 2018-2019. I had one minor issue during the reroof, when one of the skylights didn't seem to be seated quite right. His crew didn't fully address it but Eric came back and reseated the whole thing. Unfortunately, there was some minor damage to the finish on the interior of the skylight, and once I pointed it out, Eric offered a deduction to account for it. Eric continues to be responsive to questions I have about my roof, including during the summer when I started noticing oils coming down the gutters. I called EC Roofing, TAF Roofing, and Strictly Roofs. Eric from EC Roofing and Repair was the only one to call me back. I even called the other two companies twice because I wanted multiple estimates. Eric came by my home and gave me a thorough estimate with pictures and explained the multitude of issues with the roof on the addition to the back of my home. It had been leaking for a couple of years but I was paralyzed by the fear of hiring the wrong company (because I did hire someone before) and the expense. Eric explained the reasons why the previous repair failed and told me I have no flashing around the heater vent and the pope that carries electricity to the home. We made an appointment for that Saturday at 8:00 am. Eric and his crew of 3 other men showed up at 5 minutes till. They removed all of the old roofing material, installed a fiberglass base, put in new edge metal and two flashings, and painted everything white to match the white torch down material. I upgraded to the white material from the gray because the white reflects heat keeps the surface of my roof cooler which in turn keeps my room a little cooler. Eric showed me pictures from previous jobs in which the temperature differences were 30 degrees and more. The crew cleaned up all the old roofing material and used a blowed to clean the rest of the dust. For $1800 I got a brand new roof, 7 year warranty on labor/15 year on parts, and more importantly peace of mind. After the next time it rains, I'll update my review. Eric inspected the shingled roof on the rest of the house and advised me of how many layers was up there and how many more years I have left before I need replacement. EC Roofing and Repair replaced our roof in the fall of 2012, and did a terrific job on our approximately 1500 sf house. Owner Eric Campbell showed up on time for appointments for estimates and followups, and explained our options without trying to sell us a bunch of stuff we didn't want. He managed all interfaces with the City, including pulling the permit and coordinating with the City's inspector. Tear-off was completed in one day, and the job was completed two days after that, including replacing plywood and fascia as needed. Our property was left clean at the end of each day. Eric provided some extras that involved crawling around our attic, adding a vent to our garage, and generally fixing things that we didn't know needed fixing (they DID need fixing). Our 30 year old shake shingle roof was literally falling apart (pieces on the ground every time it rained). I called 5 roofers and left messages at 4. Two called back. Eric was the ONLY person who answered my call. His business number is his cell phone and if possible he picks up the calls. He was one of three quotes we received and was the least expensive by several thousand dollars. He let us know in advance that it would be 4 months before he could do the job (note: this is not an unusual wait time as the other roofers gave us the same estimate) but that if we had any roof leaks to call him and he would come over and see if he could patch them until he could replace the roof. Well, the roof did leak so we called Eric and he was there within hours and patched it so that we had no more leakage until the new roof was on. His workers were extremely nice and accommodating and did a marvelous clean-up job. They even checked in with the neighbors and made sure that they cleaned up any material that fell onto their property. The job was finished only slightly over the estimate due to extra materials that were needed for repair and the prices were in the quote. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the rain! But this morning I woke up to find that the rain had come through the roof and had been dripping into the house through the lights. My husband climbed up into the attic and I passed him pot after pot to catch the rain and hopefully avoid water damage. When we secured the situation, we found EC Roofing and choose it because it had high ratings and was the only business that showed it worked on flat roofs, we have a Spanish house, as well as the more traditional shingles. They called within an hour or so and were at our house within another hour. David came and explained the problem, we did not need to get the entire roof done and their prices were great. In addition, David removed old cable lines that were up on the roof clogging the drains. Checking out the other jobs really helped us decide on which shingles we wanted, and to opt in for new Winsor fascia (looks great). Our roof had three layers and old gutters. It's a dirty job (I was home during the destruction--wow, it was amazing). They cleaned up the whole place, including inside the garage where debris was 3" thick. (Tip: Tarp-off as much as you can in the garage.) The three guys who did the shingling and finish work were also friendly. Long story short--the job was done in two and a half days. (We were thrilled considering a house down the block had a roofer's truck out front for two weeks.) The whole crew was professional and nice.
