My client recommended visiting this place so I met up with a friend and we definitely enjoyed our meals. Lamb appetizer was tasty, good portion. We both ordered salmon and it was good. I had even ordered 2 meals to go: Short rib & chioppino for my family and they said it was very tasty as well. The food was great, service was good except one waiter had come over asking if my friend was finished when she was clearly still eating, fork in hand lol but that's was the only complaint. I came here for a private event in the small room. We were supposed to be able to get into the room at 8:30. At 8:30 there was another party in the room sitting. We were then told we could come in at 9:00. The host was quite rude. He first told me that there was no party. Then he said the party was at 9 and expected us to stand in the vestibule I suppose. At 9:03 we were still not allowed in the room and the host was still short, abrupt and rude. He didn't bother offering an apology for his rudeness or the problem with the room. Another nicer staff member offered me a seat since we couldn't go in the room. The room was too small for the party and so many tables were jammed in there I was pressed against the wall and we had to add sears to the end of tables. A group of 6 had to sit in the restaurant and couldn't even go into the room. It's now 10:24 and we haven't been served diner. Drink service is extremely slow and I've had to ask three times for the same margarita. This party was supposed to be open bar and it's taken me four tries to fill my drink. The alcohol and beer was subpar. I'm not sure if this is the case for the restaurant but in terms of holding a private party or reception save your money and your time. I would never come here again. Went for dinner last night after making reservations, they started saying they never had our reservation, then after speaking with manger- he acknowledged remembering taking our reservation- he said they were for a 1/2 hr earlier and that "he never makes makes mistakes"'. We ordered a couple of drinks, which were good and reasonably priced. They also have a nice wine list. My wife ordered the arranchinis, which impressed her (and she KNOWS her arranchinis). She also had the eggplant parm, which she said was very good. I had the linguini vongole. It was very tasty. My only complaint is, for the price, the clams should have been bigger, and the pasta more generous. That being said, we were pleasantly surprised, and plan to return soon. read more

So I have been there twice this week. We went on one of the first nights it opened, ate at the bar and received exceptional service. The complimentary melted cheese spread for the bread is fantastic. The Sunday Gravy was awesome, and the signature cocktails were pretty good. Then we went back on Friday. We booked a reservation to sit in the dining room, and we wound up back at a bar top. Ok. The server was fine, however we got there at 7:20 for a 7:30 reservation and didn't leave the restaurant until 11:30. Thank God we ordered Apps because the dinner took forever and mine came out cold. It is growing pains. Lots of apologies made, but would have liked a cup of coffee or something for the trouble. No worries, we will return once they get used to the crowd. The atmosphere is sexy and sleek, the staff aren't teenagers which is nice to see, and the food is good when they are organized. Good bar scene too. Went there with a fairly large group. Are on the patio, which was lovely. Menu was extensive and everything we ordered was great. Our server was charming and really good natured. We had heard it's always loud there, which is why we sat outside... but even outside, you could hear how noisy it was inside. Great conversation goes with a great dining experience. I never tend to write reviews, but this I felt strongly about. On my birthday, I was seated by the bar and was greeted by the bartender. I think her name was Jules or Julie. I ordered a drink and she rolled her eyes and seemed visibly mad. The other bartender brought my drink and continued to serve us for the evening. This past month I returned to Ecco with my friends for her birthday because Ecco is one of the only bars in Trumbull with good cocktails and food. I meant a friend and my first impression was that it's gorgeous inside. We were seated quickly. Service was attentive and timely. Menu is actually fairly large. Food came out quickly and it didn't disappoint. I had the caprese sandwich. It was amazing. The accompanying salad was equally as good. Food: The menu had a lot of options and quality of the food itself was very good but the two most expensive of our five dishes came out luke warm (chicken Marsala + Steak and Eggs which also felt over priced @$25 for medallions). On the upside, they were perfectly cooked as ordered (medium rare) so the cold temperature is a toss up - either service issues with inattentive food waiters or the chef not timing the entire tables meal prep properly. Our other orders of Mussels, Omelette, and side of eggs and potatoes were all good. They really should have a kids brunch menu item though. Service: I'm not sure of our waitresses name but she had blonde hair and was mildly pleasant. In fairness to her, when we asked for anything, she was prompt, but the entire meal took just over two hours with a 15 minute delay before our orders were taken and a solid 45 minute gap from apps to entrees. During that time, the table waiter should be checking in with their guests every 15 minutes to either get refills or let them know what's happening and then again shortly after the food is served to make sure there are no issues. I had ordered my eggs poached with a side of hollandaise so when it came out without the sauce I asked the two food waiters for it but neither knew what I was talking about. After 5-10 minutes I saw our waitress and asked her for it which she quickly got but by then the eggs had also gone cold. There was a man with a striped apron walking around who seemed to be the host or maître d'. He was looking at tables from afar but only walked up to one or two and we couldn't seem to catch him. I did see a high review for a waiter named Vic who I heard complimented by his guests when they left and wished we had gotten him. Ambiance: The restaurant itself was nicely remodeled from when it was Marissa's. It felt neat and the mens room was clean. I'm not a huge fan of the semi circle booths because nobody wants to get stuck in the middle but overall it was comfortable. The main room got a little loud once it filled up, making me wish that we sat in the glass room but we could still hear each other fine. Overall it was a nice brunch. I would have given 3 to 3.5 stars if the cost was lower but that high price tag requires prompt and attentive service, and food to always come out hot. read more

Ordered take out and was told to pick up at 5:45. I arrived at 5:50 and had to wait until 6:20 to get my food. The pasta dishes sat around for 15 minutes while I waited for the pizza. They don't take reservations for parties under six but it was a Tuesday evening so we figured we were safe. We walked in & it felt like we walked in to a party we weren't invited to. The staff were running around, super busy/stressed,(probably short staffed like everyone else) & when we finally got the hostesses attention, she would not seat us, & told us to go to the bar. We really wanted to sit & enjoy a quieter atmosphere & meal, & there appeared to be plenty of seating. When I asked how long we would wait to be seated, she literally said "when someone is done eating !" We said we'd wait, then she said there was a waiting list- so we asked to be put on the "list." She said we would need to sit at the bar. She kept repeating that we needed to eat at the bar. I was about to leave and say let's find another place, Then a manager or someone who wanted us to eat happened to come around and say we could be seated at one of the open tables. Good timing?! It was a weird experience. The waiter had little interest in making any effort, but he got the job done. We were in no rush, & thankfully had time to kill.
