We came on Easter so I am Guessing everything was a bit hectic. Our server was great but when we sat down our glass had lipstick on it and fork was dirty. I gave them grace due to holiday and kept it moving. The fried mozz was great the quality of the mozz was very nice it wasn't just your normal store bought fake cheese and the portion was huge. The prosciutto and burata was only ok as the balsamic drizzle was super over powering and you could t get away from it The filet my son had was cooked to Perfection (color wise) but lacked flavor My seafood pasta was a hit it was full of every kind of seafood and on point with flavor They have a dedicated lot for parking but it gets full fast because they have a party room They offer a full bar Take credit card and reservations Take out can be ordered but no delivery read more

Came with a group of 3 for lunch. Have never been. It used to be Roberto's PARKING - there is a front section for parking. Spots are not very ubiquitous but you should be ok ENTRANCE - it was lunch so there was no one at the main host station. The managers office was straight ahead and we were greeted and asked to go to the bar area to be seated SERVICE - the waitress was very nice and congenial. Brought some bread and took our drink orders. Brought menus and a paper lunch menu. The bus service lady was exceptional, keeping tables clear and making sure things were clean MENU - the main dinner menu was extensive enough. The lunch special supplement had pretty unique options APPETIZERS - I tried the broccoli rape and sausage dish which was very good. The taste was great in that it lacked the bitterness you sometimes encounter with lesser prepared dishes. The sausage was a sweet type that I give a 7 out of 10 ENTREES - I had the tilapia Florentine, which was a clear 9 out of 10. The fish was moist, tasty and the spinach was perfectly cooked. The sauce was a bit lemony but overall a very very good dish VINO - I tried the regular cabernet and it was flavorful, dry, and didn't have a sharp aftertaste PASTA - as a side note they offer gluten free for those that need it at no extra charge DESSERT- didn't have time to try anything so maybe you can fill in the gap PRICE - I didn't pay but from perusing the dinner menu I'd say as a guide line you are looking at $$$$ pricing read more

Food quality / price (value) rating 8.5. The atmosphere is kind of like a catering venue with a large horseshoe bar. We sat at the bar where the service was very good. They offer an extensive specials menu that offered several very creative dishes. They start you off with two kinds of fresh home-baked bread which included a broccoli stuffed bread - very different. For an entree I had the Chicken Rollatini which was good. The wife had the Rigatoni ala Carlos including fresh pasta and sauteed filet mignon and she said it was good. We both had plenty to take home for a second meal. We split a very different house-made tiramisu and I had a Keoke Coffee. The bill was lower than expected. read more

We have been several times since they opened in Monroe and the food is consistent. This time we went on a Saturday night without a reservation with our two kids. They sat us at a low top in the bar. It was great except that our waiter basically ignored us :-/. The food was solid though once we did order and receive everything. My scungilli salad was flavorful, fresh and I would definitely order it again. My son said Hanser Special - the filet over pasta was the best he has ever had and he wants to go back to have it so that's a plus! Ok... love when this happens! We came here when they first relocated to Monroe and honestly, we had a horrible experience. My husband and I are fans of happy hours, and months later, we found them to offer a happy hour so we said hey, let's try it. We came, sat at the bar, which is a fantastic hotspot, given the horseshoe shape bar appearance, and the televisions they offer. Not only do they have happy hour specials that are quite enticing, but they also offer earlybird specials from 3 to 6 PM on top of daily specials, along with their regular menu... The choices are truly endless, and I have to say, the meals are solid and quite fruitful - you'll definitely have leftovers. One of my favorites here is there early bird special pork chop - fantastic tender, pork chop, prepared with onions and mushrooms served with either pasta or potato and vegetables... I don't know what they do with their potato and vegetables, but they are incredible! Their seafood boat, which is on their special menu is also very good but a small portion considering the price . Their twin lobster special for $24 is an absolute winner. You can get drink specials as well, martinis for $10 and lower priced beers and wines. This place has become a frequent hang out for both hubby and me and the staff is really pleasant. Jenny, Gabby and Laura are fantastic at the bar and are always so pleasant and accommodating... the bar ain't your way to dine, then there's plenty of seating at this place and the tables are not on top of another... Plenty of room and elbow space. They even have a party room if you have a special event going on that can accommodate about 50 to 100 people. The space is great and can accommodate quite the parties. As for the bathroom, super clean... Always clearly indicative of what the back of the house will be, which is a simple positive for me!!!! If you haven't been here, I would strongly suggest you try it as they have something that will satisfy your pallet. Their pastas are fantastic, especially the gnocchi in vodka sauce. I finally got to have dinner at the new Testos in Monroe and the whole experience was great!! The renovation of the bar and dining area was amazing. I was eager to try this place since it moved to Monroe. Sorry to say, the food was not great and I don't understand why people rave about it. Like most restaurants in Monroe. The pasta I had was cooked perfectly, but the sauce and seasoning was awful. It was supposed to have pancetta but it was more like boiled chunks of spam. I couldn't eat it. Others at my table had salmon which seemed better. Service was fine although the overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke wafted around us every time they came to the table. I heard the desserts were wonderful but wasn't feeling optimistic or wanting to spend more after the bad dish. I can say that the remodel (used to be Roberto's) was nicely done. Atmosphere and service spot on. They offer prime rib on Saturdays. I should have remembered not to get prime rib in an Italian Restaurant. Terrible. No flavor and no seasoning. I asked if it came with prime rib with AuJu. When it arrived I mentioned Auju again and was told it already on it. Nothing but water. It's was as if the prime rib was boiled. Luckily the horseradish sauce saved it. I had to dip every single morsel into the horseradish sauce for flavor. Salad was great. Eggplant appetizer very good. Stick to Italian dishes and you should be fine. read more

I was here for the first time on NYE 12-31-24 with a group of 9 people. We made reservations about a week prior and had a 7:45pm seating. Some of our party arrived early and were told we could wait at the bar. There is not a large waiting area. We were told when we got seated that there was a two hour time limit. We had plenty of time to enjoy our dinner. If we got dessert and after dinner drinks (which we didn't) we would have felt rushed. It was very busy in the restaurant but I thought that did not interfere too much with our dining experience other than the noise level and tight tables. We had great service and everyone enjoyed their choices. I had Chicken Marsala with a side of veggies and potatoes (other choice pasta). read more

Went to Testo's recently and as it always has been, the food was excellent. Service on the other hand was not. We were seated and left alone. About 20 minutes later, our drink order was finally taken. 45 minutes later, we still didn't have our drinks and a different waiter came over take our drink order. We had to tell him our waitress's name and that she had taken our order quite a while ago. When she finally came with our drinks, we figured we should probably order both apps and dinner to save some time. Almost an hour later, our dinners came out. When we asked about the apps, we were told that they were brought to another table by mistake and the kitchen was remaking them. Since we already had our dinners, we told the waitress to forget about the apps. When the bill came, the apps were still on there and we had to wait again to have the waitress take off the charges. We were not comped for drinks or offered free deserts or anything to offset the terrible service we received. When walking in you feel like you are in the wrong place as it's right next to the banquet hall and no one was at the hostess stand. No kids menu, which was a bit annoying. They can make most things in a kids portion, but it was still too much as my son asked for things that we didn't know what they might have had, so it would have been much easier to have something to read to him and have a decision before they came back. Order took a while also because we said we needed a minute which they took really long to come back. Food is very large portions. Everyone ended up taking home part of their meal because it feels so wasteful. Took a while to leave as I guess we switched servers, but no one let us know. read more

The service and ambiance are always great. The food is very good. Their Spaghetti Pomodoro is delicious and we always love getting their Gorgonzola salad. I would love if they did freshly grated real Parmesan cheese instead of the cheaper stuff that has the texture of sawdust. It's one thing if it's just in the shaker jar, I can just choose not to use it. But it's also incorporated into some of their dishes and they would be superb if not for the cheap parm. read more

My wife and I used to frequent Testo's in Bridgeport when we were dating, so it's been a very long time since we dined at Testo's and this was the first time at the new location. The food is mediocre at best. I feel like a lot of their food is pre-cooked and then stored in warning trays. Nothing tasted like it was freshly prepared. Everyone ordered appetizers which no one finished. Not a good sign. Entrees were subpar. No one really enjoyed their meal. The veggies were overcooked to a mushy paste and the potatoes were undercooked. The salmon did not come with lump crab as advertised. Good portion on the fish though. Kids didn't enjoy the chicken parm, which is a first. Our waitress was pleasant but I think she was little frazzled. It took over an hour to get our appetizers yet every table who sat down after us were already eating their entrees and desserts. We tried to order dessert but they were out of several options on the menu. The bus boy was working very hard and was friendly. Kudos to that young man. Maybe this was an off night but we have no interest in returning. read more

The bar was loud and for people trying to have a good meal and conversations with their party, made the experience less enjoyable because you had to shout for people to hear you over the loud noise at the bar. One of our group had a terribly messed up order that the waitress argued about. Everything was subpar. Prices are high for what you get. We are New Yawkers, so we know good pizza! The Testo's owners in Monroe should hang their heads down in shame for producing pizza that is not even worthy for the trash can! Who makes pizza with mozzarella cheese you cannot even see! They drown their pies in grease and red sauce and the cheese is nonexistent! The owners need to find a pizza maker who is skilled in the art. If you are a pizza aficionado, steer clear of this establishment! read more

So surprised by our dinner last night at Testo's as we've been there approximately 4 times previously and our experiences were always excellent. Last night was very disappointing. It started when I asked our waiter if there were any non alcoholic choices for cocktails, like mocktails...he just said no and didn't even attempt to go to the bar to ask the bartenders. I should have pressed him to do that but frankly, I was so surprised by his abrupt answer... Then when ordering, my husband reminded our waiter, that he is allergic to eggs and needs the pasta to be from a box, not homemade. As he has had the pasta every other time we've been there, he couldn't remember which ones were safe for him to have. Our waiter remarked he remembered us from a previous visit and went to the chefs to clarify which he could have. The waiter came back and said that all of the pastas contained eggs and none were safe...my husband stated that he just had the pasta as takeout 2 months previously...Then my husband picked out another choice, Filet tips over risotto as both things were on the menu. The waiter came back and said it's really busy tonight and the Chef's said the they didn't have time to cut the filet over the risotto, so the filet and risotto would be served separately...needless to say, it will be while before we return to Testo's. read more

As you walk into this new space, it feels like someone's finished basement, low acoustical tile ceiling and a vast open, very brightly lit space. Food was good although skimpy portions for the price. The service was terrible. We were there for lunch on Saturday and it took 2 hours and 20 minutes which is completely unacceptable. It's not the wait staffs fault there just wasn't enough of them and the woman who appeared to be the manager didn't pitch in to help while she was drinking wine in clear view of the patrons. At least pitch in to bring the food out. The food was nowhere near Roberto's quality. The salmon was tough and overcooked, the chicken parm was dry. The antipasto had rock hard parmigiana and very little of it The lunch menu was limited and not the full menu. The decor was non existent just paint everything white and put in cheap vinyl plank flooring and a gigantic bar right in the middle. There were dirty ceiling tiles like they had a roof leak. We had dinner reservations. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and seated immediately. Our server was Brittany, extremely charming and accommodating. The Thursday Special Menu was impressive. We ordered the Surf & Turf and Salmon Special. Everything was very well seasoned and cooked to perfection! Generous potions too. Another person who was very attentive was Giovanni.
