    Peanut Butter Bar

I hadn't been to Echo since they first opened, back when I used to stop in while dating someone who drank Americanos. I'm not usually a coffee drinker (especially not the fully caffeinated kind), but lately I've been exploring local coffee shops and decided to give them another try. They no longer have the small lunch menu I remember, it's just baked goods now (croissants, banana bread, danish, muffins, etc.). I ordered a peanut butter bar and a decaf latte with almond milk and hazelnut. I believe the decaf option was their mushroom-based alternative. Compared to other shops I've tried recently where every coffee has been smooth and free of bitterness, this one stood out for having a noticeably bitter taste. I'm not sure how that's possible in a decaf/mushroom drink, but it wasn't nearly as enjoyable as the others I've had. That said, I still appreciate Echo's community spirit. They currently have a sign up offering free coffee with a case of water (August 2025) and support the Arizona Humane Society, which is wonderful to see. Inside, the vibe is still relaxed and conducive to working or studying. While the coffee wasn't my personal favorite this time, Echo remains a nice, mellow spot for those who enjoy supporting local businesses.

Stopped by for my morning coffee fix ! I ordered a large Ice mocha latte here ! The lady who took my order was very nice taking my order ! She almost had the guy make the wrong drink but thankfully I overheard her and corrected her ! The inside was very nice , clean , I love how they donate to the humane society which I think is amazing !!

Stopped in today while in area. Few outdoor tables so Luna and I settled in. Got my usual Americano which is my go-to to evaluate coffee spots. Barista was in there working on her own and there were more than a few customers sitting inside, but she had it all under control and made my drink pretty quickly. As I was waiting, was tempted by the display case of pastries, muffins and breads. Got 2 chocolate peanut butter bars and a piece of morning glory bread (carrot) to go. They look delish. They donate some of their profit to Az Humane Society, which I love. Big jar of dog treats at front door, do I know Luna will want to go back Facility, patio, service and food are 5-star. I thought my Americano was a bit bitter, which for a coffee shop is not great; but I admit everyone has different tastes in coffee. If you are in this area, it's worth a stop

I really wanted to like Echo coffee because they support the humane society but the coffee was average. We visited Echo coffee on a Saturday around mid-morning. There is a spacious parking lot and the coffee shop offered plenty of seating and a friendly environment. We ordered an iced vanilla latte & an iced lavender latte. We were the only people ordering at this times and we received our orders quickly! However, the coffee itself was average.

It is very vibey inside! Could definitely be a cute place to study, work, or catch up with a friend. I didn't see any specialty drinks, or seasonal menu (major bummer for me, love an extra special bev). The service is very quick and super sweet!! I ended up getting a matcha with oat milk and lavender. It wasn't anything extraordinary, but not bad!

Great welcoming & convenient location. I haven't tried any other drinks besides the Iced Chai Latte, which is my favorite and made quickly. Early mornings I love the vibes/music!! Seating area outside, WiFi and my favorite thing is they contribute 1% of every purchase to Arizona Humane Society.

Great coffee, good space to work, friendly staff! Can't complain about this regular place for working. The cold brew is one of my faves. Dog friendly, even has a little treat jar!!

Quiet place to get work done. The barista at the counter was very patient with my questions. I ended up getting a chai latte. It was very good! The place was clean and the bathroom was clean. There's free wifi. There are limited outlets. Super cute and sleek. I really do love and appreciate that 1% of their profits are donated to helping animals.

Flew to AZ for my friend's wedding. Conveniently this coffee shop is 1 mile away from my airbnb. I love the retro aesthetic and the place is super clean. Came in around 9am place wasn't super busy, baristas were super quick with our order. Plenty of coffee and tea choices. I tried the hot matcha latte with oat, I really liked how it wasn't too sweet, perfect for my taste buds.

    Cute place

I've tried it twice now and wouldn't try a third. The cold brew was so bitter I couldn't drink it. Iced lattes was meh. Okay service.

Ask the Community - Echo Coffee

Do you still offer soy as a milk alternative?

    Yes

How much indoor seating? I need to meet someone and talk about an hour. I've not been to Echo. Is this conducive for that? What about parking?

Cool place for a meeting! Great vibe. Indoor and outdoor seating are available subject to social distancing. Masks are mandatory indoors. Parking in front. Great coffee drinks and very fresh selection of pastries - all roasted and baked onsite.

Do they offer a coconut milk option?

we offer coconut, almond, soy and oat milk alternatives :)

    Do they serve Cold brew?

    Yes

Do they warm up their pastries? Ive been there about 3 times and each time I was there and got a muffin or something similar, it was stale, stiff, etc.

The baristas will warm anything you ask them to. The only thing that is heated by default is the vegetarian quiche.

I got the peach cobbler cupcake, which was almost $7, and for that price I was definitely expecting more. The texture was honestly so strange. The outside was dry and crumbly, while the inside had this really dense, gummy/doughy texture. Somehow it was dry and doughy at the same time. There were actual pieces of peach in it, but I could barely taste any peach flavor. Overall, it just didn't have much flavor at all. I'm not sure if it was specifically the flavor I chose or if it's because I'm not really used to vegan baked goods. I can definitely appreciate that they offer options for people who are vegan, have allergies, or have certain dietary restrictions and still want to satisfy their sweet tooth. But for me personally, the taste and quality just didn't justify paying almost $7 for one cupcake. The customer service didn't really help the experience either. Since it was my first time, I asked the girl at the front what their best sellers were and what she recommended. I was genuinely trying to make conversation and get some guidance on what I should try, but she wasn't very helpful or engaging. It honestly felt like I was talking to a wall. Overall, it's a cute spot and I appreciate what they offer for people with dietary restrictions, but between the price, texture, lack of flavor, and customer service, it just wasn't for me.

A Nostalgic, Must-Visit Dessert Destination in Old Town Scottsdale…read more Our party of six visited the Sugar Bowl for dessert following a friend's birthday dinner. Upon our arrival, we were accommodated immediately and seated without any delay. The parlor features a wonderful, nostalgic aesthetic reminiscent of the late 1900s. Its menu is remarkably expansive, offering an impressive variety of options that goes well beyond what one might typically expect from a traditional dessert establishment. The service we received was patient and polite. While one of our table's orders was initially overlooked, the staff corrected the mistake instantly as soon as we brought it to our server's attention. As the name implies, the menu leans heavily into decadent, sweet treats; those looking for lighter or tart options like yogurt variations will find limited choices, but the indulgent selections are perfect for traditional dessert lovers. The surrounding neighborhood adds significantly to the appeal, offering an excellent Old Town atmosphere filled with art galleries, historic shops, and artifacts. If you are visiting the nearby Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA), enjoying dinner in the area, or simply taking an evening walk, I highly recommend stopping by the Sugar Bowl for its unique historical charm and experience.
