I've tried multiple times / ways to ask the venue about seating options for the Honorary Title show on 6/2... I've never been to this venue and I'm 8.5 months pregnant. Are there options for seating?

The walls are lined with booth seating. I'm partly disabled & have never had any difficulty snagging a spot to sit.

Since I moved into the Silver Lake hipsterhood over 15 years ago, the 4100 Bar quickly became my local watering hole of a quasi dive bar. As I liked to say, "I rolled myself down the hill and later climbed my way back up" after a trip to this establishment. Formerly a distinguished dive bar called The Detour (which I also went to back in the day), it was overhauled and reopened under new ownership in 2001. Since then, it has become a staple in the community and celebrated its 25th anniversary as of this review. Although it's felt like I've been here 4100 times, would I continue to visit this corner neighborhood bar!? PURCHASE(S) Arts District Brewing 4100 Blonde Golden Ale Beer 5.00% ABV 16floz Draft ($5.00 HH): Rich amber color, light malty aroma, light body, light grainy malty sweet flavor, smooth finish, and light malty sweet aftertaste. West Coast Negroni ($10.00 HH): An interesting "beertail" that seemingly worked with its relaxing smooth taste; but honestly, I preferred the two separate to fully enjoy both. Arts District Brewing Traction IPA Beer 7.50% ABV 16floz Draft ($9.00): Bright amber color, light hoppy aroma, light body, light hoppy piney flavor, crisp smooth finish, and light hoppy aftertaste. Boilermaker (4100 Blonde) with Vodka Shot ($10.00 HH): I never understood the thought behind a liquor shot served with a beer whether it was done as a shot before or after the beer or dropped in such as the more famous Irish Car Bomb. From a marketing and sales perspective at a bar, it made sense, and maybe it got patrons drunk faster. However, from a taste perspective, it really was a waste of time and neither one or the other offered much as a pair. Boilermaker (4100 Blonde) with Whiskey Shot ($10.00 HH x3): See above. SERVICE Initially met by the front door security who checked IDs, I casually approached the bar and was greeted by a young man who easily and quickly took my orders throughout the time I was there. There wasn't any table service, so please bring your empties back to the bar and order another. Once it was time to close out, it was easy-peasy - cheers! PARKING (Varied: FREE this instance): I simply walked the five minutes from my place. Otherwise, there appeared to be some spots along the main drags of Sunset Blvd., Manzanita St., and all surrounding roads (please read all posted street signs) - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A divey ramshackled-like building with a central four-sided bar, booths along all of the walls, two well-known photobooths (b/w 4pc strip $7.00), a pool table, and simply just randomness of decorations inside. Outside, there were several pool tables, a ton of communal wooden benches, and colorful tarps that shielded you from the rain and sun. Inside, minimal natural lighting entered through the windows and doors while a random assortment of electric ceiling and hung lights filled the rest. Out on the patio, there was plenty of natural lighting while a similar electric lights situation was present and the many street lights. I didn't recall seeing any TVs while music from a jukebox played in the background. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Why it took me so long to post a review for the 4100 Bar I had no idea, but I'm glad I finally did. They had a decent selection of beers on tap and liquor for cocktails or shots, no served food so bring your own (they also had catering and food trucks at times), the prices were comparable, the vibe was very kick-back, and the service was straightforward. They generally checked all of the boxes I hoped to find in a dive bar. Furry family members were allowed on the outdoor patio (water bowls available), there were Happy Hour specials (Daily until 8pm and MO-TU 10pm-12am), and almost certain nightly entertainment such as trivia, music, and more were available. I found very complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $70.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). The bar itself has a cozy atmosphere, and the photo booths are a great touch. We first ordered drinks from a female bartender who was friendly, professional, and served us quickly. The restrooms were clean and spacious. Having only two stalls for such a busy venue isn't ideal, but it could always be worse. Later, we went back to order another round. An older white bartender wearing glasses started serving us, and while he was preparing our drinks, he was also taking another group's order at the same time. I completely understood that since the bar was very busy. We ordered two Whiskey Sours and one of the bar's signature cucumber cocktails. The Whiskey Sours were served in margarita glasses without ice instead of traditional whiskey glasses. I assumed they had simply run out of the proper glassware because the bar was packed, so we didn't complain. The real problem started when it was time to pay. The bartender placed the payment terminal in front of the other group instead of us, and they accidentally paid for our order. Instead of acknowledging that it was his mistake, he immediately acted as if it was somehow our fault. We tried to resolve the situation calmly and even offered to pay the other group's bill and buy them an extra drink to make up for the price difference (their bill was about $31, while ours was around $45). When it came time for us to pay, I chose not to leave a tip because of the multiple mistakes that had already happened. At that point, the bartender completely lost his temper. In the middle of a packed bar, he raised his voice and started yelling at us, saying it was disrespectful not to tip him. He also complained that we had ordered drinks that weren't on the regular menu and that making them had taken him "so much time." As a bartender myself, I know exactly how long it takes to make a Whiskey Sour, and it's certainly not an unusually time-consuming cocktail. If preparing it had been a problem, he could have simply told us before taking our order. He continued shouting that the bar was extremely busy, called our behavior "disrespectful" and "f***ed up," and finally told us he would never serve us again. We were honestly shocked. This was the first time we've ever experienced someone reacting this aggressively simply because we chose not to leave a tip, especially after such poor service. I've worked in customer service for years, and I always tip when I receive good service. I would have had absolutely no problem leaving a generous tip if our experience had been pleasant. After that confrontation, we no longer felt comfortable staying in the bar, so we left immediately with a very negative impression. Looking back, I wish I had read the reviews beforehand. It seems that many of the negative reviews mention the exact same bartender. A truly disappointing experience.

I checked out another table and felt something similar, so I just tried to make myself as comfortable as possible by not moving from my seat. Service was not the best. Maybe it's because there were two of us, but we almost received no attention here. It felt like the waiters were more interested in people at the bar, so we had to flag down a few different waiters that were coming in and out of the kitchen for some help.

We considered moving inside, but it was so incredibly loud that having a normal conversation seemed nearly impossible. I would still like to come back and actually try the food, and I'd be happy to update my review based on that experience. Next time, though, I would probably visit on a weekday and sit inside to avoid the smoking and hopefully have a quieter experience.

If could give this TJ Petracca from Emo Nite an event planning company a zero star I would. This TJ Petracca signs contracts, that he did not read, TJ hired my company to do a event for his company on 10/4/19. The bottom line hear is that TJ Emo Nite does not know how to read contract that he signed electronically. Further more he was dishonest about the times and tried to take advantage of our company. By keeping our rental items for a extended booking and making our employee work on double time. This email, we sent him, will clear up the misunderstanding concerning of the details of the event dated October 4, 2019. 1. First of the arrangements you made with us, per signed contract, regarding your event is as follows: a. Information on singed contract. i. Event Date: 10/4/2019 Event Time: 9:00 PM - 1:00 AM ii. Delivery Time: 8:30 PM Pickup Time: 1:00 AM b. Time that you changed. i. You now want the delivery time at 6:00 PM on 10/4/2019. That is 2.5 hours earlier that agreed. ii. When our Office Manger spoke to Dakota, he said, "The event ends at 2:00 AM and the gates will be blocked. Also, that the parking lot will be full until 4: OO AM. They will try to squeeze us in. There are no guarantees that we will be able to get your delivery people in until 4:00 AM." That is 3 hour later than agreed. c. The actual time of the event, according to your website. i. Friday, 10/4/2019 Friday at 9:00 PM - 2:00 AM 2. The arrangement that you now want will increase the hours of our employee by 5 hours. That puts him in double-time, which cost us a greatly increase job cost. In addition, by keeping our equipment 3 hours longer that agreed, you are keeping it as a rental 3 hours longer than agreed. 3. The paperwork you completed and signed was falsely given. Firstly, you did not read the very beginning of the contact. Which says: a. "If you are an Event Organizer, Event Planner, Party Planner, a third party representing a customer or company or any other title that would fall in this category please STOP filling out this form and contact Sumo Mania - Party Rental CA. Clarification will need to be made as to who represented and who is responsible for payment and contracts. Failure to comply may result in termination of order." b. By continuing completing the form you stated that you were not any of the above and were completing as a regular customer. c.The document was fraudulent, because you indeed represent an eventmanagement company out of Los Angeles. Emo Nite with the Web address of: https://emonite.com. d. The reason we ask Event Planners, etc. to notify us, is because we want to make sure there are not misunderstandings between all parties. We do not charge these companies more. 4.We want to make it perfectly clear. We are willing to deliver your products as arranged under the following terms; a. Only with in the agreed terms of the contract. (See No. 1 of this page.) b. We will charge you the following amounts which will be refunded if all terms are meant. i. $1,000.00 which is a security for our company, if you keep our products later than agreed. This amount will cover the extra time on the clock for our employee and the additional cost of keeping our rental items longer. (Your web site states the event goes to 2:00 AM and your employee Dakota reported that we may not be able to pick our equipment up till 4:00 AM.) ii. We will need to be able to pick up our items promptly at 1:00 AM and be out of there by 1:30 AM. iii. $500.00 charge due to using the red and white carnival canopies for cotton candy or face painting. It clearly states on the Invoice and Release Form, which you signed. That the red and white booths are not to have food, sticky substances or paint within the booth. Also, these booths are not flame resistant. This requires extensive cleaning and at times requires us to replace the canopy all together. read more

I would not recommend attending the Echoplex. The security there are inhumane and like to use people as punching bags for their own enjoyment. I witnessed my sister being beat up by multiple security guards all at once as she laid in fetal position on New Years Eve. She was kicked and stomped in the head, kicked in her stomach, legs, arms, and back. She was battered and beat up terribly and suffered multiple injuries. This was a horrific attack to view. The security at the echoplex do not protect they target. Multiple bystanders pleaded with security to stop, but they continued with their inhumane brutality. Friends and I pleaded with them to stop, but they shoved and pushed us out as they continued to beat on her. I DO NOT recommend attending any event there. Anyone that attends is fair game to be attacked by security. read more

The artist that the dub club are great BUT the staff and the venue sucks. How can you throw a reggae club and throw people out for smoking marijuana. Specificly last night at the mad professor concert. The door guy or cashier is the worst asshole reggae capitalist there is greedy ass money hungry monster. Not to mention the wack overreactive security and stinky fat guy and gerbil faced security guarding backstage.Dub club should be boycotted until they allow herb smoking. Clubs are for the people, they make thier living off us having a good time not paying and getting kicked out or some wack assholes that know nothing bout reggae controlling things. read more

I came here with my boyfriend last month to see a DJ he likes and we had a phenomenal time! I don't always see eye to eye with him when it comes to music but this DJ was great and the venue really made for an awesome environment to see him. I can't recall his name but regardless of who the DJ was if there's someone playing at the Echoplex that I like I will definitely jump on the opportunity. Pretty roomy and definitely not too crammed (which I hate) or too hot and smelly like a lot of venues, great sound and lights which obviously some credit is due to the performer and his crew but the venue has a great set up for good shows. read more

New Years Eve 2012/2013, I saw a girl get beat down by security. Don't really know what the story was, but she was curled up in the fetal position outside the venue while several security guards kicked her. I have been to the Echoplex several times in the past and felt that security was pretty hostile, but this one takes the cake. I don't think kicking a girl while in the fetal position is what security is hired to do, and if so, I definitely wouldn't recommend this place. I'm sure the venue would stand by any of their employee's, but to allow them to savagely beat a girl like this seems a bit uncalled for. read more

Wednesday night was my first time visiting echoplex & I absolutely loved every minute of it! They have a reggae night on Wednesdays called dub club and everything about it is amazing.. I highly recommend going a Wednesday night if you love reggae & a 420 friendly environment!.. Nothing but great vibes, drinks on point, friendly staff/security, amazing performers, & great crowd of people to interact with. Dress casual & ready to vibe, you won't regret it! read more

street parking wasn't too difficult on a thurs night around 9:15pm. the neighborhood isn't too sketchy, but prob would bring a friend or two just in case. the venue is nice! clean and not cramped/super hot. i saw joey pecoraro play here and it was a great time. it's small enough where it feels intimate and you can get close to the stage, but not so tiny where it doesn't feel like a real concert. had a fun time overall! read more

Decent sound system, fully stocked bar, and nice staff. The restrooms also seem well maintained too. I love coming here for DJ Collette's monthly house event. I've also been here for some good dancehall and drum & bass. Parking is difficult in this area, but I manage to find street parking within a few blocks. There are also parking lots for about $20. Only real downside: the ladies' bathroom could use some serious love. It gets pretty gross, so do yourself a favor and bring tissues and hand sanitizer just in case. Bathroom situation aside, I'm always down to come back when a good DJ is on the lineup. Jungle knows how to do the music right, and that's what matters most.

We parked about a half mile away and a public lot by the West Hollywood library, parking was only 12 bucks and it was a nice short walk to the venue and no traffic getting g out when we left the show. The event was sold out, and we got there right when doors opened. The line out front was not too long and security kept everybody moving really quick. Full bar and food inside. The main room is tiny, so anywhere you stand you will have a great view of the performers. I definitely plan to come back to see another show here, wish I had caught shows here in the past... I was next door and I needed to find an atm for cash and they have an atm inside of troubadour and since their event was over, they were kind enough to let me in to use their atm.

I literally stop on the dancefloor when it is bad because I can't "fake it". I give this party 5 stars because they do a solid job of creating a party that has something for everyone. Mash-ups, dark dance floor, eccentric dancers on stage, Photobooth (with a creative and fun photographer), and good vibes. Los Angeles used to be filled with great dance parties all over the place. Now they are few and far between. Not to be a negative nancy but here are my gripes - When they are at the downtown location - it's really hard to dance on an incline. When they are at the echoplex - there is no where to put ur drink down and if u do the workers snatch it up quick. Some of the mash-ups blow. It's like everything has been done and they're just trying weird things together to be the first to put AC DC with Kanye (both really hard to dance to because I hate dancing to 80's stripper music and Kanye's music only accompanies his lyrics so it's usually not that great). We went the evening of the Taylor Swift mashups. It was a great, fun experience! Oh, $10 cover charge. If you get there before 10pm (I think they open 9:30pm) then it's $5. The bouncers at the door weren't the most friendly either, but at least there wasn't a line (around 11pm).
