Giving 2 stars because they were on time. They charged me $150 for a studio (430 square feet) "deep cleaning" which they promised would "clean the interiors of the entire kitchen as well". She was done in 1.25 hours and I came back to basically the same apartment...my bathroom was dirty when I left and she did a great job cleaning the tub but otherwise the worst service I have ever experienced. The vacuum was not used...nothing was dusted. Everything on the counters and ledges (which was not a lot) were not moved (or wiped down), the cabinets were not open or touched and nothing was vacuumed. This was the worst cleaning I've ever gotten and most expensive. See pics. I texted Alexandra the pictures that clearly delivered and she said she couldn't see them. She gave me $50 back of the $150. The cleaning wasn't even worth $50. Very disappointed as I only treat myself to a "deep" cleaning once every 3 months and I myself could have done more. read more

I have been a client for 2 years. I use the service for deap cleaning few times a year. They always do a great job. Last time they ware able to accomodate me on very short notice when my mother in law called with the news that she is comming to see the kids. Thanks to them the house, toys and kitchen looked spotless, windows sparkly clean. As a working parents we are trying to keep up with the chores but things get overlooked. It is such a great filing to know that we can have this service when needed. In addition the workers are going above and beyond to make you comfortable about having stranger in the house. Honestly, I was expecting a stellar cleaning job because of all these five-star reviews. (Reminder to self: always be skeptical of too many five-star reviews.) At first glance, it did seem like Alexandra did a great job. She left my apartment looking clean and tidy. At second glance, however...she had rearranged all of the items in my kitchen cabinets and drawers in ways that didn't seem to make sense (e.g. rolling up my placemats and moving them into a drawer alongside my baking sheets..), while leaving all of my tupperware/containers disorganized, with mismatched lids, etc. It seemed that she reorganized things to her liking over actually cleaning--the rims of the cabinet doors and microwave were still fingerprinted and dusty. She also put items in my dishwasher that were clearly non-dishwasher safe (i.e. handmade ceramic mugs clearly labeled "hand wash only"). Ultimately, it felt like the kind of cleaning job you would do so that the place LOOKS clean, without actually being that clean--shoving items into drawers, wherever they fit--and I found the reorganization of my items without permission rude and frustrating. read more

I was so excited to have my apartment cleaned and unfortunately this turned into a really terrible experience for me. Alexandra and one of her employees came to clean; I met them at my apartment and stayed for the first 45-60 minutes, but all seemed well so I let them do their thing and left. (My mistake, of course.) I came home that night to find that almost literally everything I owned had been reorganized. They removed all books and trinkets from my bookshelves and didn't even try to put them back where they came from. They moved around all of the plants on my window ledges. Everything in my kitchen cabinets. They even unfolded and refolded all of my hand towels (I fold them lengthwise first so I only have to unfold once to throw them over the towel bar). They removed the sink strainer from my kitchen sink and I found it in the cabinet under my bathroom sink. Moved the soap holder I was using in the kitchen to allow my dish sponge dry out into the shower (where there was already a soap holder...). The bookcases were sort of heartbreaking for me because everything had been really intentionally placed; everything else was the sort of thing that wouldn't have mattered had it been one or two, but it was honestly everything -- it's been two weeks and I'm still finding things out of place. And as a last kick in the stomach, the remote for my fan (which attaches magnetically to the top of it -- there's inherently no better place for it) was moved, and I still haven't been able to find it, so just spent $32 on a replacement. Mysteriously, despite everything being moved, the cleaning wasn't even that great. They seemed to have not actually used soap when mopping my floors (I'm not totally sure they actually mopped at all -- the mop was dry when I got home), as my feet got just as dirty walking around barefoot in the following days as it did before they were there. Some of the bookshelves that had clearly been emptied weren't actually dusted. It was definitely cleaner than it was before they came, but not as pristine as it's been with prior cleaners. Ultimately it was extremely frustrating for me to have to RE-reorganize everything I owned when I've been living with my stuff for a long time and liked where it was. I don't think I should have had to think to proactively tell them that. If it doesn't really matter to you where your things live in your space, I think they'd be perfectly fine. If it does, I'd recommend finding someone else. read more

Every time I get it, I cannot wait to see my apartment afterwards, because it looks AMAZING. Alexandra came and did a VERY thorough cleaning for me before my wedding. I loved her work! I am reserving the fifth star, however, because she did laundry (yay) and dried all my work pants in the dyer, which shrank them (yikes). So I recommend using her, but giving laundry instructions before you leave. read more

We have been contracting Alexandra cleaning for about 6 months, on a weekly basis for our one bedroom apt. We are a family with two little children. Our home is a mess. WOW! I took a chance and it paid off! Looked for a couple of days at the reviews on yelp for cleaning services to help with our 1700 sq ft apartment post renovation. Wanted a great deal done -- walls, lights, windows/screens -- and got estimates as high as $1400 (from a 5-star reviewed service on yelp). I called Thomas as Alexandra just on a whim...and was immediately impressed with his calm, assuring demeanor. I could not have been more right in following my gut instinct and going with Thomas and his team. I returned to the apartment after a business trip -- they came while I was away -- and i was simply blown away. The windows were perfect, every detail handled, and all for $350 which was the high end of his estimate. I believe that was for 2 cleaners for 8+ hours with them bringing all the equipment they needed -- ladder, vacuum, etc. If you want a job well done, if you want to feel at ease knowing that what you're promised will be done, if you want to pay a great price, and if you want to work with a nice guy...call Thomas at Alexandra Cleaning.
