On March 13th EcoGreen Solutions agreed to repair and renovate the bathroom of a studio apartment for one of New York City's frontline first responders, a paramedic for the New York City Fire Department working at a Station in the Bronx. On the 18th of March he texted the FDNY Paramedic that he would have all the paperwork ready to file for the town permits by the next day. On April 20th she reached out to Mike Rosado in all understanding that work start dates were ambiguous, but paperwork with the town did have a 2 to 3 week timeframe. He told her that his plumber was sick, and he could not get his licensing information. She called him two weeks later to ask if his plumber was feeling better and if he would be able to do the paperwork. He told her he was confused about how to fill out the paperwork, so she agreed to do that for him. He told her he did not have a plumber, she gave him the plumber's information for her building and then he ignored her for the month of May. On June 8th, the office assistant sent her licensing and insurance information for EcoGreen, she said Mike was still working on the building plans and that Mike expected her, the Paramedic working 12 to 16 hour shift with the New York City Fire Department, to find a plumber to do the job, this was the FIRST she had heard that she was expected to act as her own general contractor in order to get EcoGreen to fulfill their contract. She called Mike, and he told her he couldn't find a plumber, that he didn't like the attitude of the building plumber and if she wanted the project done, which he knew she desperately needed done, then she had to find a plumber herself. Because apparently a company that bills itself on its website as "full-service home and business environmental restoration company serving Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Rockland and Orange counties NY, as well as Fairfield County, CT" doesn't have access to a plumber and needs a first responder, who spends most of her time saving our lives to spend her free time, doing their job for them. Alas, she is a hard working girl that just wants a working shower, so in between her long her full time job of 12 -16 hour shifts working as a paramedic, and she finally met with a plumber who gave her an estimate of $1750 on June 16th, she called Mike on June 17th and he told her that was too expensive and she needed to keep looking. Basically forcing her to do the work of a general contractor looking for and bidding on a subcontractor for his project and doing the paperwork that still as of June 20th when EcoGreen was officially fired, they never provided the plans for a very small studio bathroom repair and basic remodel. Does such a company that cheats the best that New York has to offer and even when they have multiple chances to fix it, and refuses to do so, deserve our hard earned money? Got way overcharged for venting for my dryer. Said they were going to drill through concrete, which is why I was charged a lot. They didn't do that. And for the water leak in my basement: Their "solution" only mitigated the problem, and they left behind a mess. Had them come out again to propose a second solution for my basement. I'm not confident they would have been successful, since they never correctly identified the problem, a hole in my concrete. read more

Eco-Green came out to my Mother-in-Laws apartment. Her ceiling collapsed from a water leak above. I noticed black on the cross members in the ceiling. STEER CLEAR of this company, they did not pass post remediation testing or follow IICRC-S520 guidelines as noted in their contract. They cut corners and lack a project manager on site to QC the start of the job. EcoGreen was hired to remediate two spaces in our home, our attic and part of our roof and an exterior wall. The attic was improperly remediated and incorrectly cleaned with remnants of insulation, dust and debris remaining on rafters, walls, outlets and more. The exterior wall was not completely remediated and the crew did not remove all of the siding as part of their scope of work in the contract. Instead the crew cut around a fence missing a space that is about 6 inches wide and 5 feet long. They were supposed to insulate with dense packed cellulose insulation and instead began using fiberglass batting which I noticed and questioned. They replaced the insulation however they cracked interior drywall from incorrect pressure and installation of the dense packed cellulose. We hired an inspector after the owner Frank Petrullo said the remediation was complete, however EcoGreen did not pass the post remediation inspection, levels were much more elevated for both air canister and surface mold tests. They did not HEPA vacuum, set up the proper necessary containment or decontamination chambers, and did not set up negative air pressure as per IICRC guidelines as noted in their contract. After they recleaned a second time samples showed spore counts as high as 30,000 in some areas that were under the encapsulant they applied. The owner refused to remove the encapsulant and refused to wet wipe surfaces. There are many many more errors that were made with this remediation job and we are spending tens of thousands of dollars mitigating their damages. The office assistant has a terrible attitude and never knows the status of anything - arranging an initial consultation was easy and then getting a hold of the owner Frank or the project manager Mike is impossible once the job begins. Their contract states that 30% is due at the start of the job and the remainder is due upon completion of the job after they receive post remediation clearance testing from a licensed mold inspector. They collected the deposit and demanded a work in progress payment in cash on the spot after the job began. They tried to intimidate me to pay a third payment, the remainder of the bill before our mold inspector completed the inspection. EcoGreen never completed the job or received post clearance testing and left our home in a terrible state that now requires major mitigation. read more

STAY CLEAR!!!!!! They scam you out of thousands of dollars. They use cheap labor and over charge their work. I observed there workers laying down on my front yard during the work hours. They never kept us informed of what they were doing, they threw out kitchen cabinets without telling us. They left our kitchen sink ON TOP of our counter top with the moldy rusted garbage disposal unit still attached. They cleaned our air-ducts and left without putting in the air scrubbers and took one of our work tarps. We had to wait an hour for them to return to make the corrections. I was told by the manager "Mike", that the owner, Frank Petrullo, would make up for all the mistakes. I have been trying for two weeks to speak with Frank over the issue, also ask him when their "expert" workers opened the kitchen floor when they removed the cabinets, they never addressed or informed me of a concern of ALL THE MOLD in the crawl space underneath the kitchen floor. I had to manually remove all the mold, because Frank never called me back so I couldn't address this issue. I am selling my home in Westchester NY and during the inspection process, it was discovered that there was mold in my attic. Obviously it needed to be removed at my expense. I initially called another company, one of those national franchise type remediation companies and I absolutely flipped out at their estimate and the scope of work they were proposing. A week in my house, we couldn't' sleep in our bedrooms etc. Thankfully my realtor remembered that she had worked with Frank, who is one of the owners of Eco Green Solutions, on another job. WELL the experience was amazing from beginning to end. Frank came the next day to assess the situation and provided a thorough and complete estimate by the next morning. He explained the mold remediation licensing process and all the other factors that are important in choosing a provider of this service. I called him on his cell phone with more questions, and he was patient and responsive. The office staff there was great in terms of scheduling and planning for the service date. And finally, once it came time to do the work, the 2 men who came to my house were courteous, professional and spotless.
