    Tuna melts
    Quinn N.

This is such a fun surprise. Clam chowder was so good and I would highly recommend it; the clam meat was so tender, the soup was thick just enough, the oyster cracker was a perfect complementary item. Tuna melt was fatty and placed on a thick garlic bread.

I came here for a bowl of clam chowder and yum. It was exactly what I wanted. Every bite had little pieces of clam and the chowder was nicely creamy and not overly dense.

We visited Cannon Beach and stopped by here for some dinner. The place had lots of customers very friendly staff. I really liked how they had different seating options so you can sit based on your preference. Both their main floor and upstairs had indoors and outdoor seating that is covered, protecting you from the rain. Their outdoor seating also had a few firepits that can make your meal extra cozy. We got their cod fish and chips, clam chowder, and shucked oysters. Their shucked oysters were FAAAAT and fresh and is a great bang for your buck. Their fish and chips were not my favorite as the batter was not crispy. The fries were really good though! Their clam chowder was good.

Ecola Seafood is such a great little find in Cannon Beach. The oysters were incredibly fresh, and the fish and chips were easily some of the best in the area, crispy, flavorful, and done just right. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience even better. Everything was clean and well-kept, which always goes a long way. Only small knock would be the beer selection. I was hoping for a few more local options to pair with the seafood. But overall, this spot is a gem and definitely worth a visit!

The clam chowder here is legitimately good -- creamy, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The salmon was decent too, just wish the portion size matched the price. You're paying full sit-down restaurant money for what is basically a fast-casual counter experience, and that disconnect is hard to ignore. The space itself is small -- maybe 10 tables inside plus a patio outside. The nautical decor is charming and gives it a coastal feel, but the place could use a better cleaning routine. A few spots felt a bit grimy for a restaurant setting, which isn't a great look when you're charging these prices. No dedicated parking at the location, which is worth knowing before you go. Street parking is available nearby, and there's public parking within walking distance, so it's manageable -- just not the most convenient if you're visiting during peak tourist season when spots fill up fast. I get it -- Cannon Beach is a tourist destination and prices reflect that reality. But when the portions feel small, the space feels a little rough around the edges, and you're standing in line at a counter to order, it's hard to justify the cost. Not a bad meal overall, just not quite worth what they're asking. Go in with realistic expectations.

Halibut Fish 'n Chips, small Shrimp Cocktail

We went here twice. The first time was awesome. Grilled salmon, perfectly cooked, shrimp cocktail and clam chowder. The second time we had the grilled haddock, good, and the grilled halibut, way overcooked. Also had the crab cocktail, which was very salty and not as sweet as expected. Overall, a great value, but a little disappointing when the fish could have been better.

Five stars for Ecola Seafood, a humble cathedral of fried sea life tucked into Cannon Beach. We arrived on a Monday with six stomachs and just as many appetites. The line was moderate, but the staff was brisk and bright-eyed. Though they offered QR codes for ordering like some silicon valley lobster shack, we went analog and talked to a human being. Imagine that. The counterperson gave us a placard with a number and a mission. Sit. Wait. Listen for your number to be called. Outside, we found a table with a gas fire pit in the center that glowed like the heart of a good decision. It was chilly in the shade with a breeze that smelled of salt and maybe stories, but that fire warmed us right up. Within ten minutes our number was called. Salvation comes fast sometimes. I had the halibut fish and chips. The fish was as light as truth and flaked into pieces with the gentlest nudge. The batter was crisp without being greasy. You could write sonnets about the texture alone. Alongside it came a cup of clam chowder that was everything it needed to be and more. Rich. Substantial. Comforting. I drank a can of local dry apple cider that snapped and sparkled and wiped the palate clean like a custodian who loves his work. A friend beside me ordered the Captain's Feast and donated her oyster to my cause. That oyster, my friend, was perfect. Briny, slippery, defiant. It tasted like it remembered the sea, which it probably did as it was likely there yesterday. Everyone in our party left happy. The vibes here are unpretentious and sincere. A place where nothing is trying too hard and everything is simply done well. If more of the world were like Ecola Seafood, there might be less need for conflict. Go. Eat. Sit by the fire or venture upstairs and soak in the view. Wait for your number.

My best friend, his partner and I day trip to Cannon Beach for his birthday. The area was extremely cute, we decided to diner at Ecola Seafood before heading back to Portland tbh I was unimpressed.. I'm not sure if it's due to nausea I did not enjoy my meal. On top of that the place was extremely dirty. We sat for almost an hour and did not see a single table get wipe down or bust. So unsanitary for a seafood place. My meal was tasteless, I took it home and was able to eat it the next day once the salt sat in.

    Eight delicious fried oysters

Many people order the Melts here, but me it's gotta be the oysters or the mussels. The latter are cold and smoked and perfect. The oysters, batter deep fried to perfection and piping hot when they hit the counter. The outside is crispy crunchy and the inside is juicy and tender and soft as velvet. I've had oysters all over the U.S. and IMHO these are the very best. Don't mess around, order the oysters. This place is super popular, so expect a line out to the door. But do not despair, it moves quickly. When at last you achieve the order counter, you'll place your order and get a number. when called (it's announced over the PA system), hustle over to the left side of the counter to pick up your numbered tray. Enjoy!

Took our family of 8 to Ecola Seafood Market for some authentic Oregon seafood (my favorite)! It is very chaotic in there, with lots of movement and sufficient crowds. I found the food to be a bit expensive, but I also understand that you're paying for the quality. My brother and I ordered the fried oysters ($34.50) which were delectable. They were crunchy on the outside and chewy and salty in the inside. I was shocked at the noticeable difference between quality/taste compared to what I'm used to on the east coast!

Pricey seafood on the cannon beach and food quality varies depending on which item you got - fish and chips: amazing! 5/5 crispy shell and tender inside. The portion was very nice too - grilled halibut: huge disappointment; grilled and overcooked that the inside was completely dry. This was on of the more expensive items on the menu and I was sad that it wasn't good - chowder: amazing and rich with clam. I highly recommend Overall, would come back for the fish and chips with a side of chowder - I saw other people getting oysters too and would try next time

Crab was so freshly amazingly so so good!!! 1st time here because this was the place I wanted to go to eat crab at, thanks to someone on TikTok. And to the chef who made the clam chowder, thank you. It's by far the best I've ever eaten. It was so delicious.

Kind of like the feeling of coming home. The place was packed -- just a testament to their very good food and excellent drinks -- there was even a couple sitting outside and they had a fire going. Wish I had taken that photo. It was a really beautiful moment. The place was decorated and felt very holiday festive with small bright lights reflecting off the tin ceiling. Excited to have a couple of days on holiday here. Stopped in to pick up their latest version of fudge because Christian the Baker keeps evolving the art of fudge making...and you don't want to miss an iteration. Using the owner's grandfather's recipe as the base, he makes some of the best fudge in Oregon. Tonight I was told he decided to explore a Mediterranean approach and added nutty sesame to the fudge. The sharp but soft chocolate is a perfect compliment to a delicious drink on a cold, cold night. While I was waiting for the fudge to be packaged to take back to the fireplace in my room, I spied their latest culinary endeavor sitting in jars on the counter... and actually started salivating. They are now serving Pickled eggs. Incredible. When was the last time you had a pickled egg? When done right, pickled eggs are among the most satisfying and clean bite of delicious ungrilled, ungreasy proteins in the world. And the lounge has decided to serve two different kinds, so we might've died and gone to heaven. If you love eggs of every kind, as I do, boiled eggs hold a special place because they are hearty and compact and completely whole. So when you add a spices and acid to that perfection...it emerges as "wow." The service was attentive and thoughtful always, and I was told they're open New Year's Eve until 9.
