Cute spot with a cozy log cabin atmosphere. We visited for lunch on a Thursday holiday weekend, and the staff were attentive. Unfortunately, my shrimp Louie salad arrived missing the hard-boiled egg listed on the menu. Since it's a simple salad with few ingredients (and no avocado, unlike a traditional Louie), the missing egg was noticeable. When I asked for it, the server asked if I really wanted it and said they'd have to cook one. It took so long that my husband had already finished his meal before it arrived. There was no apology, discount, or acknowledgment of the mistake. I also noticed other shrimp and crab Louie salads being served without eggs and I don't understand why you wouldn't make a dish correctly. My husband's halibut melt was just okay, the fries were good but a small amount, and the tartar sauce was excellent. First off, this review is for the bar, not the restaurant. We meant to go to the restaurant, but ended up in the wrong door and got the bar instead. It wasn't a problem as we just wanted a drink and a quick bite to eat. I think the best thing I can say about our visit is that everything was acceptable, but nothing was great. The service, drinks, food, none of it was bad, but none of it stood out either. And the place was cold. An overcast evening in March in a beach town you'd think you might want to duck into a cozy little bar on the main drag, but this isn't the place, it must've been about 67 degrees in there. The large fireplace covering one wall should have been roaring and inviting. Hoping we'll be able to come back later and try this again, as it might have just been an off night, but I'd love to see a little extra focus on the presentation and service to tip the scales into the good or great realm. read more

Came here around 5pm, both my friend and I weren't that hungry but wanted to eat some pasta. We shared the Linguini alarosa Alfredo with prawns and it was amazing. Probably the best Alfredo I have ever had. Service was great and the ambiance was very cozy. We sat by the fire place which was nice. This is such a cute place inside. The service was excellent and I was surprised it wasn't busier. Was the food good? Yes but was it great? No. I got the Fireside Deluxe Omelette with hash browns and a biscuit. It had chicken, bacon, pepper, onions, mushrooms and topped with cheese. It comes with a side of sour cream and diced jalapeños. I thought the filling needed more seasoning but it was decent. Once I put the sour cream and jalapeños on top it improved greatly. My fella got the clam chowder with a side of garlic bread. The chowder had a good flavor and he enjoyed dipping the bread into the chowder. The only downside was that the chowder was just warm. The place itself has such a cozy and comfortable vibe. The carajillo was sooo good. The clam chowder was rich, creamy and packed with flavor. The coleslaw was the perfect amount of sweetness. It was fresh and crisp balance to everything on the plate. And honestly one of my favorite things. I just wish there would've been more of it. The halibut was cooked beautifully and tasted so fresh and flaky even as fish and chips. But I have to talk about the clam chowder! It is hands down my absolute favorite. I had the Denver omelet, the ham was good and it lots of filling, rather greasy but didn't affect taste. Eggs were ok, and hash browns were tasteless which they often are ( I like home fries ). Coffee was good. Toast was a bit stale, though I got it without butter, just used jam. I think I used to get French Toast & Bacon here, which you can still do if you order Al-a-Cart , used to be pretty good, cutting back on sugar though. Went to Canon Beach on the Oregon coast for the weekend. We stopped by Oros Fireside, from the outside it has the look of an old log cabin, the menu is huge with a variety of choices for every meal. We orders breakfast, eggs and chorizo with hash browns and a side of bacon. Very good tasting chorizo I was impressed with the flavor, the bacon was a nice wide cut. We also ordered eggs and ham scrambled eggs, good portion of food. As we entered we were greeted by a very friendly employee, we had our choice of seating, you can site next to the indoor fireplace or along the side of the log cabin walls. It was a nice find, plenty of seating for large and small parties, we visit Canon Beach a few times a year we are glad that we finally stopped by to try Oros. read more

I've been here twice. Once as a solo diner and had the breakfast skillet and the second time I brought my family and had the huevos con chorizo. Both times the food was spectacular! When my family was present they also had an omelet and the French toast. The star was the maple syrup. They said they made it in house and it was light and sweet and tasted amazing! horrible! I have been a loyal customer of Oros for years, but after today's experience, I will never return. I arrived for breakfast with my sleeping baby in his stroller. The restaurant was nearly empty, and I politely explained that my son was asleep and asked if we could be seated in a corner so the stroller wouldn't be in anyone's way. I also explained that I recently had back surgery and couldn't safely lift him out of the stroller without waking him and risking further injury. The employee flatly told me that strollers were not allowed in the restaurant. There was no effort to accommodate us, no compassion, and no willingness to help a mother with a sleeping baby. We left hungry and incredibly disappointed. What happened next made the situation even worse. About 20 minutes later, we watched another mother arrive with a stroller. She was welcomed inside and allowed to park her stroller right next to her table, exactly as I had requested. Apparently, the "no stroller" policy only applies to certain customers. If you have a policy, enforce it equally. Don't pick and choose who gets accommodated. Watching another family receive the exact exception that was denied to us was humiliating and made us feel singled out. I still don't understand why we were treated differently, but it certainly felt unfair. As a mom who was simply trying to eat breakfast while caring for a sleeping baby and recovering from back surgery, I expected a little kindness. Instead, I was turned away while someone else was given the accommodation I had politely requested. After years of supporting this restaurant, this is how we were treated. We'll never be back, and I hope other families know that the rules here don't seem to apply equally to everyone! read more

Stopped by Oros Fireside in Cannon Beach. I ordered the BLT with Cajun fries and the food itself was great, juicy, flavorful, and really hit the spot. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by some issues. My drink was served in a dirty glass with a lipstick stain, and the silverware was also dirty, so new ones had to be brought out. What a great experience I had at Oros today. The place is rustic inside and the atmosphere could work for couples to families. My service was prompt for my drink and meal. I had brought a book and read maybe a few pages and my food arrived. I ordered an omelet that was prepared perfectly but the show stopper were the fresh potatoes. These were not frozen hashbrowns you find everywhere but fresh potatoes done in house. They were golden and yummy. I wish I would have gone earlier in the week I would have eaten breakfast there rather than my hotels cold eggs they gave us daily. I also had a Bloody Mary that was yummy. Wow, wow, wow, that's legit how my family and I felt from beginning to end while enjoying breakfast here. We were staying at the nearby Surfsand Resort and had The Wayfarer Restaurant & Lounge on our list, but they were fully booked from early morning until noon. This was the next viable option for our sit-down, dine-and-chat breakfast vibe that day. This place did not disappoint! Wow, the staff, the ambiance, the quality of the food, and especially the drinks! The excellent service and cozy vibes of this place blew us away. My parents are incredibly nit-picky about the quality of food, especially when it comes to seafood. Whether the restaurant cheaps out on the quantity of X seafood ingredient in each dish, these guys did not disappoint. Each Benedict and my crab Omelette was packed with Dungeness crab. I had to have eaten the meat of 1.5 crabs in my Omelette. It was so filling and tasty. If you're looking for a hardy seafood breakfast, this is definitely the place, and at a relatively affordable price. We didn't feel like their prices were too crazy, but we're city folks, so I'm not sure how much water my opinion holds on that. The specialty and fireside cocktails were divine and tasted like dessert in a drink. Just be careful, they were pretty strong, and we are drinkers, so we were pleasantly surprised that these cute, innocent-looking drinks hit us. We ended up double-tipping, and my pops purchased a black hat of theirs, lol, not only because of the quality of the food and drink but also because of the service. One of the owners personally introduced himself from jump and took the time to chat with us about how his family acquired the place. It turns out the Oros family took over from a previous owner, and the current family, including two sons and, I believe, two daughters, were running the place, plus their pops in the kitchen helping out. I ordered a pineapple mimosa, and they gave me both a small bottle and a little bit of pineapple juice aside to keep pouring in my glass and I thought that was just so neat. Oros feels like a blend of Pacific Northwest and European style , with its huge fireplace and rough hewn timbers. The food and service were great. I ordered the fried oysters and eggs (a.k.a "Hangtown fry" down in California). Eggs were perfectly done over easy. The oysters were lightly breaded and fried just right, not over- or underdone. Flavorful coffee. I got a side of sausage gravy for the hash browns. The gravy tasted like good quality sausage, not like the overbearing breakfast links found in most diners. Also, the gravy had the consistency of gravy, rather than the thick sticky mud served in most places. Service was friendly and attentive. My only gripe is that the seats are hard and uncomfortable. Nonetheless, I had a thoroughly delightful experience and would eat here again. I want to comment on some of the negative one-star posts that express upset over not being allowed to bring in their own coffee. As you walk in the front door, there is a big sign in the center of the door that says "No Outside Food or Beverages". You then go through another door into the dining room that also has a big sign that says "No Outside Food or Beverages". What kind of entitled jerks would then argue with the host and have a loud tantrum when told they can't bring in their own coffee? Get some manners or go elsewhere! read more

The sauce it came with was sour and tangy, maybe a little too sour but was a nice contrast to the cake's saltiness. Fish and chips were okay. The chips were super crispy and well seasoned. As for the fish. The seasoning was well flavored but the batter was soft and not crispy, a little chewy. The fish inside though was super flaky and juicy. The Benedict came with either a side of hasbrowns or pancakes. Get the pancakes! The hash brown was bland and soft and barely salted. I overheard another diner say the pancakes were really good so if you have the choice...skip the hasbrowns and try the pancakes. The Benedict overall was okay. They gave lots of crab meat which was good considering the price you pay ($31). The English muffin had a kind of oily taste that personally overpowered the rest of the dish so I ended up eating the Benedict without the muffin. The sauce was not too heavy. The biscuits and gravy was okay. The biscuits did not feel or taste like biscuits at all. It was neither buttery nor flaky like biscuits are but almost like a slightly tougher bread. The sausage gravy tasted like clam chowder or an Alfredo sauce. Taste overall was fine but it was not a sausage gravy. Service was very slow. We went around the end of rush hour but it took a while for us to be asked if we were ready to order and for us to get the check. By the time we got our food, a nearby table who got their food when we ordered had already finished their meal. The interior is very cabin-like and cozy. I also want to add some context to the previous review that said it was implied they would not accommodate a car seat. This is simply not true. The restaurant has a sign on the door letting patrons know that due to space issues they can't allow strollers in the dining room. Ordered the halibut fish 'n chips. Fish wasn't fresh. Smelled old and tasted like it. Was flabby. Pieces were as thin as fillet of sole. Halibut should be thick. The owner came to the table and despite me being kind and gentle he denied any problems with the fish. I asked him to taste it. He declined. He left. Thought he was headed to the kitchen to check on his halibut freshness. Never came back. I was hoping for my meal to be remade. Later a server came by and asked how everything was.
