The grilled halibut sandwich was the bomb. Actually one of the better fish sandwiches I've tasted anywhere, period.

THE best grilled fish sando. This is the epitome of a local pub in a small town. Great bar, great local beer selection, and their own beer is excellent, so far, that we've tasted. Bartenders are friendly and willing to give you good suggestions on food and beer choices. I am so glad we found this on our cruise ship excursion to Cannon Beach. Forest, our bartender Forest, took really good care of us and we so much appreciate that.

    Cheeseburger and chips.

Service: 5 Food: 3.5 Chowder was 4-5. Rich in cream; crab chunks, not much clams; celery was soft. Cheeseburger and chips: 3. Cheeseburger, nothing exciting, chips were crunchy, oily, salty. Chicken strips and fries: 3. Chick n likely frozen - baked as mediocre, fries good but not worth finishing. Beer: 2: tried the Weissbier, amber, stout, and root beer: Only the stout was worth a glass. Root beer and weissbier off-putting taste but good aromatics.

You won't find a better burger in town. It's not very friendly but when you have a solid item. You can get away with that.

This is a solid 4-star and I would definitely go again. I enjoyed my tuna sandwich. For lunch, I should have done the half sandwich. And if I ordered again I would have it toasted. The west coast IPA was great. Service was great and I liked the atmosphere and history of the place.

This place is still very yummy and provides great service. It's clean and cute and doesn't change much but I think that is probably what has added to their success. If you're hungry for some good this place is a good choice.

Bills tavern & brewhouse is a great little eatery in the heart of downtown cannon beach Oregon. The options for beers are great, I opted for a hoppy bill tavern brew which is one of their in house/local beers on draft. I'm sure these change frequently as they are written on chalkboard in the back of the restaurant. I ordered the 5 piece halibut fish and chips. It was very tasty and surprisingly filling. I come from New England so the typical New England fish and chips (which is cod) is usually a bit bigger than this one. Despite this, the halibut tasted great and the service was quick and easy. A waitress came to help our party quickly and got the food to us in a short amount of time. Bathrooms are available and parking is VERY limited as it's mostly street parking, which was slim to none for me. Be prepared to walk a bit to this place unless you have parking directly next to it. That's the main reason I didn't give this place five stars is because I could have easily found a new place to eat if I didn't find parking.

Such a low key, non-pretentious spot in bougie Cannon Beach--definitely our vibe! Great local beers on tap, attentive servers, clean dining room and restrooms, and the bay shrimp melt was perfection!!

The fish and chips here are great value and very shareable. We shared each one between two people and were quite satisfied. They have two seating areas, one for 21+ and one for everyone, and you can seat yourself when you arrive. Between the halibut and cod, our table tended to like the cod more despite it being the cheaper option. The batter was light and crispy, and the tartar sauce was delicious. We also really enjoyed the fries and garlic bread! Nothing too outstanding, but does the job for some good food.

Service 5 stars. Hands down. We show up just before 9pm on a quiet Friday night and the bartender is CLEARLY closing up. But instead if a crap attitude she skips to us. She's so sweet and animated and fun and immediately we both LOVE her. She was PHENOMENAL. Period. Like 100% tip phenomenal. I had a garden burger no mayo no cheese ADD hot sauce and she did NOT disappoint when I asked for some hot sauce. She came out with a hot sauce variety for us!!! Yum!! Bill's is a chill spot with a Applebee's like vibe. Everyone is having a good time, enjoying a local spot with good food and beers. We ended up BACK at Bill's our second night in town after I was let down by the Mexican food we had earlier in the day. I got a black bean burrito and holy moly it was HUGE and flavorful. I was definitely full when we finished. And again we had great service. I'd recommend Bill's for anyone looking for a good meal and drink, supporting a great local business, and getting great service too. You 1000% get your money's worth here! See y'all this summer Bill's!

Good beer, rude waitress. Not a single smile. A guy came in for an application and she was angry he came during the lunch rush. It wasn't that busy. Not really feeling the vibe here.

    Halibut Fish and Chips

Found this little Tavern while out and about Cannon Beach. The halibut is freshly caught in season, and the cod is local but flash frozen. Either way good deal. I ordered the halibut fish and chips and they were absolutely phenomenal! So crispy and flavorful. I also had some of the cheeseburger. It was very juicy and had a great char to it. The tuna melt was very good too. The service was great, the staff were exceptionally friendly and food came out fairly quick. Definitely recommend this place. Will be back!

Cod fish and chips, ClamWin Chowder.

Clam chowder was not what I would have expected... not very flavorful. They actually served stale saltiness crackers. We also got Cod Fish and chips. They were heavily battered and greasy. Grease overwhelmed the fish taste. Ambiance great, Service good.

My wife and I stopped into Bill's Tavern on our first night in Cannon Beach. Free street parking can be found. Discover is an accepted form of payment. There is a 5% prepared food tax added to each tab. Bill's Tavern only offers beer and wine, no spirits. Only one tab per table is allowed; no separate checks. There is a $1 up-charge added to take-out orders. A small outdoor seating area is offered. Indoors, bar, table and booth seating are available. Large parties many find difficulty in seating. While looking over the menu, I sipped on a glass of house Cabernet for $7. My wife had a pint of Duck Dive Pale Ale for $7. We shared a cup of Clam Chowder for $8. Decent but not great. We also shared the Grilled Halibut Burger with chips for $25: seasoned and grilled halibut fillet with house made tartar sauce. We were starving so the burger hit the spot at the time; however, it was on the bland side in flavor. Our server was friendly but rushed. Overall, Bill's Tavern is a nice spot to grab a cold beer. The food wasn't memorable for the price so I will eat elsewhere the next time I'm in the area.

The food and wine were terrific, and the little nibbles served in between courses and only at chef's table were wonderful.   First off, chef John is a member of a long-time commercial fishing family based in Astoria and his network of local ranchers, farmers and fishermen ensured all that was prepared and served was local and fresh.   The beet salad I ordered was scrumptious and perfectly highlighted by a puree with honey and horseradish. She-who-must-be obeyed thoroughly enjoyed the Weathervane scallops that were lightly smoked and served chilled in mushroom consume.   One of the nibbles was a serving of fresh bay shrimp.   My Petrale sole was delicious and featured a very light broth the ingredients to which I'm still attempting to guess. My partner thought the Beachcomber Stew divine.   All was slurped down with wonderful wine: Sauvignon Blanc for my partner, a crisp Rose for yours truly.   I finished with the Swedish Cream dessert topped with a lovely marionberry compote.   Anna's Table was a wonderful surprise, a fair few cuts above all other eateries we tried in Cannon Beach and is highly recommended by this couple.

Negatives: Quality of food. My cilantro rice was absolute mush. I am not sure how it left the kitchen. My husband's seafood boil was overcooked: crab was dry, almost everything overcooked even corn. For $65 for the bake expected better. The bread was dry and hard. I have loved this restaurant for awhile so it makes me sad to write this review. I paid for an expensive anniversary dinner and got a basic meal that was overall very poor quality. I am not sure if I will return.

The Brisket Sandwich my wife ordered was a disappointment. As unapologetic brisket snobs formerly from Texas, this didn't meet our standards; it was overly dry. A common flaw, brisket is a very tough cut of meat which takes a lot of time, attention and yes, fat, to prepare properly. I had the Grilled Cheese with smoked duck breast added. It was almost great, props for ooey-gooeyness and points for the tender smoky meat. However the aioli/jam spread was a bit off-putting to me. Still, a very good sandwich.
