He was able to solve our problem in one visit (second visit was to remove the dead trapped culprit). All the other people they sent here were very effective in helping with our termites. I have used Ecoloa in the past, who did a good job for me the first time. For this time, there was damage to my wood patio cover and external beams and evidence of termites in the attic. Casey did a thorough inspection and made recommendations. Edgar and Javier came out to do a heat treatment of the attic (heating to a very high temp (it got to 135 degrees F) and in using injectable insecticide to the outside wood structure. The technicians doing the work did a great job and worked all day to apply the termite treatments. I would definitely recommend this company in addressing termite issues. The price seemed reasonable given the extent of treatments applies. If you have dry rot issues, I recommend getting termite treatments first before removing dry rot and using new wood, as the termites and fungus work together in causing damage. read more

A few decades ago, we suspected termite and set about finding a termite company. I had FOUR companies come and give a report and bid. Three were just a few hundred dollars apart, one was almost triple, so of course I didn't use them. I just had a "feeling" about Ecola and went with them. SO GLAD I DID! In the years following, we have never wavered in our commitment to them. EACH ONE of their reps is knowledgeable, polite, and efficient. Literally one of them just left after our yearly inspection and I thought, "I HAVE to write a review." We have had them come when we spotted "termite droppings" only to be told, "No, that's cricket." How easy it would have been to charge us for a whole treatment when just some spray we applied at that area fixed the problem. Another time it was termite droppings but we were told it was from the wood stacked in a holder next to our fireplace. We simply removed that wood. Yes, they have also found them that needed a treatment . But I'm SO impressed with their honesty. And when they treat, your warranty covers the house. We had the attic, garage, and a few window sills done and 10 months later found some in our home office and they came and took care of it as covered from our earlier treatment. I always know when they come I'm going to get a pleasant rep, who isn't going to try to sell me more than I need, and it is backed by their guarantee. Hector just left and while here he spotted some water leakage/damage that was being caused by the sprinkler system my gardener had on. He went and spoke to him and the gardener gladly adjusted and the problem was fixed. If he hadn't seen that, I don't know how much damage would continue to be done. Thank you, Hector! Beware if you have terracotta tiles! Back in October I had my home tented for termites. Upon further inspection after the service was finished I noticed several tiles looked like they were about to fall off along the edge of the roof. My Contractor had also raised concerns about the hanging tiles. When he got up on the roof he was in shock as additional roof tiles were smashed into pieces, which came to about 235 tiles. The tiles are terracotta which are on most homes in California. For a company thats been in business for 20+ years I thought they would have more experience with these kinds of roofs. I have been in contact with Danny and he did come out to my property, with my contractor present and he agreed that there was damage done and clearly the men on the roof were not being careful with the heavy tarps. I have been strolled along by your representative hoping I will go away. The conversation over time has been from no communication, to being sick etc. If you use this company be prepared to pay additional fees once the service is finished and YOU will be responsible for their damages. read more

This is a review based on the ease and integrity on working with EcoLA. 5 years previously, I'd been an ongoing Orkin customer but when they tried to sell me on a very pricey, unnecessary and harmful to the environment installation, I cancelled my contract with them. I found EcoLa via google and had them out for a termite inspection. They gave me a very fair quote and when I told them I simply couldn't afford it, they agreed it wasn't urgent but should be done sooner than later - no pressure. During my Orkin time, a rat had made its presence known. They had only inhumane traps so I purchased my own electric ones. Jump forward to 10 days ago when I had already released Orkin. My housekeeper saw a dead rat in the electric trap, called EcoLA and they came out that day to take it away. The rep examined my home and advised me to fill some openings at a limited cost and to create a door to block access to under the house. I told him I was going to have my handyman do that and he estimated what it would cost to fill in the other 2 openings, very affordable. He called the next day with a quote that was way beyond what I was wanting or talking about - I went ballistic. I emailed the company and what happened? I got numerous calls to rectify the situation. In the meantime another rat was killed in the electric trap - I hate that as I actually like rats but not safe and an electric is more humane than other traps. Anyway, yesterday the owner of the company came out to plug up the openings and all is good. I will be using them in the fall when it's time for me to address the termite issue. I definitely would recommend giving EcoLA a chance given their integrity in meeting their client's needs and constraints. read more

We have had Ecola for over 15 years - every month. At first the service was outstanding. But - - - - the past two years - not so much! We pay monthly for the service. Guy spends 5minutes - maybe 7 . And - Ecola has kept on increasing charges for one thing and then another. When we canceled our service - after15 years - no one even cared enough to call to discuss our problems with us. The house was inspected for termites. I was told I would hear from someone in 1/2 weeks to treat the problems. No one called. I waited 6 weeks. I called them. They sent 2 people out. At the end of their job the supervisor trainee ?? suggested that I talk to their supervisor to get one of the areas in question sprayed. The other person said he would tell him. Again, I waited 2 weeks, I called their supervisor. He had never received the message and disagreed and said he would send someone different out to go back over the whole follow up. Had An appointment and again I was called and asked to change the time. I have grown to expect a call on a change or a cancellation, which I told the woman who called. The 2 people showed up and first complained about the crawlspace hole. I shared this is the first complaint anyone has ever shared. They appeared to do their job, at the end I asked the one worker, who tended to lecture or promote his skills, whichever you prefer, me on all the things they did . When I said the other guy last time noticed what may have been a leak, I asked him to let me know while he was up there in the crawl space if he saw anything. Then he lectured me about their job and old house's wood and just rambled on. When he walked out to his his truck I said you never looked at the reason your supervisor sent you out. I had to tell him 4 times to stop lecturing me, I didn't request this, his supervisor did, he refused to listen I reminded him, that his co workers, not me, made the suggestion. He went off on me, lecturing, and refusing to do it and telling me what was covered (he was wrong according to his supervisor). I reminded they have done the same thing since I started Ecola. I finally had to tell him to stop talking, listen and stop lecturing me and do your job. It was if he was deaf, he kept on rambling . At that point I locked my gate, my door, got in my car and drove away. I had been harassed enough. I called his supervisor who was on a job, told him the guy refused to do what his boss had sent him up here for. The supervisor said he would come back at some point, but I don't want any more visits this year from a company that continues to spiral downward. ECOLA. During the rat control issues before I fired the rodent control department 1) I was lectured on not having the traps in the right space. I am not an employee , lecture/yell at them 2) When the supervisor came out one of the last comments was you have all these traps. I don't work for you , lecture your own employees 3) If one of your supervisor trainees makes a suggestion, there is no follow up and then the person that is supposed to do the job refuses I am not an employee , train your employees to act in a civil professional manner and do their homework 4) If you send someone to change traps tell them to bring keys so they can open the traps and if they can't speak in a positive manner, keep their mouth shut 5) I don't want to be screamed at by one of your office workers when you send someone new and the gate is open as always on the day they usually come to do their job and they complain I wasn't there 6) Stop the harassment and sending incompetent people to my home. I should not be harassed at my own home. I should not have to lock my home and leave to get away from rude, incompetent people . I am still with Ecola because I have been there a long time, and don't want a price change. I would not recommend anyone else to make the mistake I made many years ago. read more

I seldom weigh in about my experiences with products or services, but I am going to make an exception this time. My recent experience for rat abatement around my home was very unsatisfactory, on many different levels. There is much to comment on, but I will only focus on my primary complaint. Though EcoLA left bait boxes that snared two rat's over the 4 wk. period of the contract, the area of chief importance, where it was clear that rat's were gaining entrance under the house [smudge marks were visible], was left untouched. I was told that any attempt to seal the gap between the screen and the exterior wall (less than an inch), would not be effective. When I asked about trying a common fix like copper net gauze & foam calking, I was told I should hire a handyman to build a new screen. They didn't even place a black box adjacent to the gap to trap any rodents seeking entry. Bottom line, the entire area was disregarded. The aforementioned screen was behind a camilla bush, but still visible and accessible. If I can duck back in there, they should have been able and willing to do so as well. Since they weren't, I did get in there myself, cleaned out around the area, repositioned the existing screen for a better fit, wedged in a concrete block located a foot away, and now that entry point of biggest concern is blocked. I hope others have had good experiences with EcoLa, but this was mine. They did not demonstrate even the most basic skill and techniques needed to deal with my situation, which I was told by another professional was not untypical or daunting. Sincerely ~ S. I had the rudest person came. Had some mice issue. Someone came to put some traps. Gave his number said if there's foul smell we could call. I smelled something on Sat afternoon thinking he could come Monday. I called around 5pm, didn't think it was crazy time. The moment that person picked up he asked "do you know what day is it?" And then tried to make a point continued sarcastically "I'll give you a call back 5am on Monday". I mean if you didn't want ppl bothering you why not just leave a company phone instead of your personal number? Furthermore, my job requires me to be awake during night time and early morning. I responded "sure" to his sarcastic rant. And sure enough he didn't call at 5am, instead I waited more than 2 hours and he finally called around 7am thinking that would bother me. It bothered me alright, I was too nice to actually call him at 5am saying you should be here by now. Anyway the price we paid should have included 3 visits. He just disappeared after that and I needed to call the office again so he would come again to add more poison or something. In the end he didn't come back for a third visit, and I had enough with all these BS. Hired another company and everything went well. read more

However they have become very unreliable and have missed several appointments. The tech who came out to spray for roaches refused to treat my home after we would not agree to a 6 month contract. He came out to spray but when we wanted a one time treatment and then wanted to decide month to month if we needed more treatments he was rude and said he wouldn't do any treatment and got in his truck and left. Apparently if he couldn't get the monthly money he did not care about us at all. We had removed everything from our kitchen for 2 days so that it could be sprayed and he left us with live roaches and did not care even though I cried to him. I then called the company and told them what happened and they said they would have a manager call me back, which never happened. It is all about the money for them. I called Ecola to fumigate my house. The fumigator name was Miguel. He was very helpful, fumigated the entire house. I had to leave for 3 hours with my pets, but it was worth it. I had too many crickets and spiders. We had to clean all the cabinets in kitchen and bathrooms prior to fumigating. I saw plenty of dead bugs. It was worth it. Afterwards the customer service representative Selina called me to ask me how the fumigatiing experience went and if I had any questions or concerns. I contacted ECOLA Termite and Pest Management to fumigated my home in mid May 2024. On the day of the fumigation a company called QUALITY PEST SERVICES,Inc came to do the actual fumigation. (They apparently were subcontracted by ECOLA) After handing over my keys to the guy ( I'll call Jose ) he assured me that my house would be securely locked up after they were done getting it tented up. So I left for the hotel I'd be staying in for the next few days while the house was being fumigated. When the fumigation was completed, "Jose" called me to tell me it was safe to return home and that he'd give my keys to my good neighbor as I had instructed him to do. There was no mention of anything problems at my home. Well when I got home I noticed that items were missing. I called "Jose" and he said he knew nothing about that. When I told him that I'd left him with my keys and complete access to my home before I left and all my property was there before that, then who else could have taken my things? He maintained he had no idea and HUNG UP THE PHONE IN MY FACE!!! I called ECOLA, left a message and was called back by a manager that defended the character and reputation of that contracted company and its employees. Telling me that someone else must have "broken into my home " and stolen my property!! I told him that there were absolutely no signs of a break in. Whoever took my things had a key and the only person that had a key was "Jose" of QUALITY PEST SERVICES,Inc- the company he contracted. He continued to defend and took no responsibility for the theft that had taken place!!! I've filed a police report and plan on letting the world know that this company, ECOLA, apparently hires and defends criminally minded individuals to work for them. PLEASE DO NOT USE THE SERVICES OF ECOLA. DO NOT ALLOW these fumigation workers complete access to your home without you being present or your have your keys. Stay at your property and watch what they do and where they go while inside your house. Put on your alarm system ( if you have one ) and YOU LOCK your own door and KEEP YOUR KEYS YOURSELF. Invited a representative for a free inspection as we have had visible termite droppings in various spots. He was positive in his recommendation for the treatment of subterranean termites. The five other termite specialists we brought in after for a "second" opinion indicated the presence of DRYWOOD termites, NOT subterranean. We would have had thousands of dollars of work done on my house... for absolutely nothing. $2400 for the placement of the underground traps with almost $400 dollars a year for maintenance of said traps. I DEFINITELY suggest a second opinion, as I am embarrassed for the representative and this company itself. It's like bringing your car into the shop for a broken rear bumper and having the front bumper changed. When a large amount of work is going to be done, always get a second opinion. While I'm sure many of Ecola's employees are competent, I would avoid this company in the Los Angeles Valley. read more
