I got quotations from several pest control companies and chose Tanler for several reasons: 1.) They got rave reviews on my local NextDoor group. 2.) They're a smaller, local company. I felt like they were "right-sized"...small enough to have a strong customer service connection, big enough to have good coverage with teams to come do the work. 3.) They quoted for the work to be done. They didn't approach the first service as an "on ramp" to lock me into an annual contract after the initial service. And I am **really** glad I selected Tanler, because my GC's schedule changed and on very short notice, Tanler made adjustments to make an extra quick trip for spot treatment of some new wall framing. It proved my instincts about "small but big enough" were accurate! read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I strongly recommend that people avoid this company for rodent removal services. I hired them to address a rodent infestation in my attic. They came out, assured me that the problem will be solved if I hire them, they said they treated the problem, and left. Unfortunately, the rodent activity continued. After I contacted them again, they returned and claimed they had resolved the issue a second time. However, the problem never truly went away. I had to travel and I was not leaving in the house for a period of time personal reasons when I came back, I realized the problem still continuing. I had to deal with the stress, inconvenience, all while the rodent issue remained unresolved. They never know where the rodent is coming in guessing closing and putting traps and then of course it takes some time for them to come back that's why they keep the warranty time short. If I had the rodent in another area of my house I will understand oh maybe another space, but it was exactly the same area plus the places they covered outside of my house was worn so fast and there were holes again When I contacted the company again after their six-month warranty had expired, despite the fact that the original problem had never been properly fixed, they refused to take responsibility and instead wanted to charge me again for additional services. Their warranty period is much shorter than many other companies in the industry, which should have been a red flag from the beginning. In my experience, this company seemed far more interested in collecting additional payments than in actually solving the customer's problem. The service was unprofessional, communication was poor, and there was no accountability when their treatment failed. I would be especially cautious when dealing with Jesus the inspector who is nice at the beginning but they don't really know what they are doing and John who is the general Manager of the company, as my interactions with them were extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I am so dissatisfied with how this situation was handled that I am considering pursuing the matter in Small Claims Court. Save yourself the frustration, expense, and stress. There are other companies that offer longer warranties and stand behind their work. I wish I had chosen one of them. read more

Initially, things started off well with this company, but over time the service declined significantly. We initially worked with Jeff who was referred to us by a neighbor who is a long time customer. The customer service is terrible. I was never sent a renewal notice by mail, which they could not confirm sending. The technician who serviced our home for $400 was rude. He hung up on me when I called to confirm his arrival. Despite paying for termite services, I often had to wait at least a month before anyone came out to the property. As a customer, I do not have time to sit on hold for lengthy periods or chase after basic services that should be easily scheduled. I understand warranties have expiration dates, but I also have the expectation that a business will honor an agreement and make reasonable efforts to come to a fair solution rather than dismissing valid concerns. I recently discovered a single termite sand hill at a friends house while I was housesitting. Based on the great reviews I called this company despite others recommending I use a big chain like Terminex. Jesus was the company rep who came. He was punctual and professional. After inspecting he presented a very reasonable treatment solution. There was no big heavy sales pitch or upsell. It was straight forward and in my opinion, solid. Writing a review for speed of response/answering questions/estimates, plus their short turnaround for scheduling an appointment and the fact that they are very professional and kind! Spoke to Jeff via Yelp messenger. He was quick and professional redirected me to his dispatcher scheduler Adriana who was also quick, professional and kind. These calls can be stressful because you may have an infestation so it's great when they're are kind humans to help you from freaking out lol. I called re a rental unit I have and they moved fast. Didn't have them come out as I had scheduled 3 companies to bid and get various opinions. Great news is that they didn't need to come as the first two confirmed no issues so I text Adriana and sent Jeff a note via Yelp and let them know the situation and said I did not need them to come. They were happy for the good news and simply said reach out if ever needed. Needless to say I too was ecstatic to find no issues! Love quick to respond businesses that hire professionals that are also kind human beings. If ever I need a pest control company, I'll be sure to contact this team! Based on the lady Amanda (not sure of the name), I would never call this company again. She's not customer friendly and acts like a debt collector even before services are rendered. It's possible she doesn't know any better but she should. She's the worst and very annoying purposely. I had decided not to call her back this past Friday for today Monday because of her annoying me for the 10% deposit while I was in Verizon do to phone issues . Richard called me on Saturday to follow up and to let me know my job could be done Monday. He's so personable and caring, I decided to move forward. We use this company Via our HOA for 8 units in Santa Monica. They are terrible and not worth giving them your hard earned money. The employees don't like to treat high areas as it's too much work to bring in to our units the proper tall ceiling ladder. The last time these guys came to us 1/4/22 they refused to treat two units ceilings (my unit and my neighbors). We have currently found a mew company and in the process of moving away from this one. I had a wonderful experience with Tanler. I am not good when it comes to bugs so when I thought I had an issue needless to say I was less than calm. I got a response almost immediately on Yelp from Jeff who asked for my phone number so someone could call me and get more details. I was then put in touch with Adriana who was very friendly, warm, and understanding of my anxiety laced situation. She scheduled a FREE home inspection for a couple of days later and even gave me her phone number and texted me so I had a person to reach out to with questions. Finally, the home inspection day came and Cory gave my place a once over. He too was extremely nice, reassuring, and even reached out to a colleague when I had a question he didn't know how best to answer. Thankfully I did not have a pest problem and I was finally able to sleep at night but I don't think I would have handled the situation as well had Tanler not been so supportive, communicative, and understanding. I cannot recommend this business. I've had service with them for several months and it's been constant issues. Several times I've been billed for false alarms. Twice their guys entered our business, did not put the code I issued to them in, left the alarm sounding!!! And the police show up. These guys could care less. When you enter a business and the alarm goes off it takes one minute to call or fix it, which somehow they can't do!!! Twice the police showed up and I had to pay for that!! Then they send confirmations that are not actually confirmations and make you wait for them only to have no one show up. Please get it together. Leo, who signed me up and used to answer at Tanler the phone was patient and answered all my questions which is important when dealing with bugs and toxic chemicals! Great guy, Leo.. wonderful man! Our bi-monthly service with Tanler was great. Guys in crisp white Tanler uniforms would show up on time and do a great and thorough job. As long as we used Tanler, the bugs normally stayed away. When bugs would pop up between visits, Tanler would come out between visits at no additional cost and spray again. Everything was going great! Until a year and a half into our service.. A Tanler employee began to call my phone like a debt collector. I'm talking every day. I would usually ignore the calls because I was really busy at the time and I already knew what they were about (my dad's bill payment system which can sometimes be a bit laggy, especially when he is in a trial.) One day I finally answered one of these calls, I can't lie, I was annoyed because of the frequency of calls and where this exact matter fell on my list of priorities at the time. The Tanler employee informed me that my father's account was past due. I asked her, "Has my father ever missed a payment?" She replied, "no, we've always received his payments." I said "Fine, so you'll receive this one too, have a great day," and I hung up the phone. I admit that I was short on the phone that day, but I really didn't have time or energy to deal with this (non)issue. Fast forward to today, Aug. 1, 2018. I called Tanler to set up an extra spraying because of reports of roaches at the house. I was asked if I was a current customer and I said "Yes" because, to my knowledge, I am a Tanler customer. I'm put on hold for a couple minutes... Tanler rep: Your account was canceled in February due to non-payment. I'm currently on vacation with my father in Gatlinburg, TN.. I ask my father, "did you stop paying the terminator?" He furrows his brow and says "no, when the bills are on my desk, I pay them. But if something is past-due, pay it," as he hands me a credit card. Me: I'm confused, my father says we are current on the bills, and we are unaware that our account was canceled, but let's get back on track. How much do we owe? I have a credit card here, are you ready? I'm put on hold for a few more minutes... Tanler rep: okay, we can get your account going again, but you need to pay the $250 initiation fee. Me: I NEVER paid an initiation fee last time, and why should I pay one now!? How was my account even canceled? My father says he paid all the bills. Rep: I don't know but you'll need to pay to get started again. Me: May I speak to a manager? I am placed on hold for a few more minutes... Adriana: This is Adriana, the manager, how can I help you? So I explain the situation and say.. "look, this must have been a mistake, neither my father or I were aware that you guys had even stopped coming, we just want to get our service started again and have someone come out before the weekend to spray for bugs... but we're not going to pay an initiation fee... we didn't pay it last time, and should not have to pay it now." Adriana: I can see this account was canceled due to late payments back in February. Me: late payments? A: yes, like the gas company will shut off your gas if you don't pay. Me: right, but they come to put a notice on your door or in your mailbox, they don't just cancel you... how could the account be canceled without you notifying us? A: I see here I called you on... Me: WAIT... it was YOU who called me? A deflects: you were notified by phone... Me: I remember that phone call and EXACTLY how it went.. at no point did the person who called me say the account was due to be canceled! Wait, was it you? A: look, I can see this conversation is going to go back and forth... we value our customers, what can we do to make things right? Me: we'd like to pay you whatever we owe you, and get back on track at the rate we had before.. A: our rates have gone up. I can either keep you at your old rate with the initiation fee or give you the new rate, and YOU DON'T OWE US ANYTHING, you're current on payments. Me: WHAT!? The payment came in? When? A: 02/20 Me: When was the account canceled? Adriana: 02/16 Adriana finally admitted it was she who called me and who canceled our account without warning or notice. The technicians we interacted with - both at the initial check for termites and the day of treatment - were super polite and very nice to work with. The price for treatment was more manageable than larger pest control companies. Our termites weren't a huge and visible problem to begin with so I can't speak on the job done just yet. However, one of the technicians left a light trail of drips from the treatment throughout the house and onto the front porch. He said it was likely from the "water vapor" coming out of the machine but it's been a full 24 hours and those drips have not dried, like they would have if it really was water. I'm still finding sticky, dried drips around the house and the ones on the porch need to be scrubbed away. Also, they made a bit of a mess chipping away at one of the wooden eaves outside to put the treatment. I get that it should have been done, but a heads up would have been nice. It's a bit alarming to see pieces of paint and wood from your house just on the ground, seemingly out of nowhere. read more

I can't remember the last time I had such honest and prompt service! I called them because I had a large number of dead critters on the ground floor of my home and I had no idea what they were. Worried that they could be some type of destructive subterranean species, I called to ask about setting up an inspection. Instead, they were able to take a look at photos that I provided and let me know what type of pests I had! They informed me that I wasn't dealing with anything destructive and that I didn't need extermination or any other kind of treatment. I was so impressed that a company was willing to give me such useful information within a few minutes of me contacting them. I am sure there are plenty of other exterminators out there that would have charged me for an in-home visit just to tell me the same thing. I've had some not so great experiences with pest control service lately. I saw Tanler's good ratings and feedback and decided to give them a try. Let me just say WOW! I requested a quote and they immediately emailed me and scheduled a call for the next morning. I spoke with Adriana who answered all my questions and addressed several concerns to my complete satisfaction. They sent Jesus 2 days later to review my property and give me a complete picture. He was extremely thorough, even checked areas no other company had previously. The final quote for services was very reasonable. Jesus supplied me with all paperwork and issued a final report of findings on the Monday morning. Bob and Carlos came to my home on Tuesday to provide termite treatment, rodent exclusion, and pest control. They were also very thorough, very kind, and showed me exactly what they were doing and why. They even cut back some branches that were covering my roof (extra thank you!). They also made sure to schedule an appointment for the following week to check all 12 traps. So from first contact to treatment within 6 days. And they have been available via email, text and phone throughout! Great team of people, VERY responsive, I am impressed and hope my bi-monthly pest control service continues in the same manner. It's not often one needs a termite inspection or treatment, much less during these strange times of social distancing and global pandemics... but unfortunately for me my home office was getting raided by unwanted pests, tiny fleas/bugs/drywood termite droppings & the like. My HOA basically said I was on my own so I called Tanler. Adrianna was very kind to me over the phone & even transferred me to her head inspector to answer my questions in more detail, which I appreciated. Within days she had an inspector at my unit. Billy called me ahead of time the day of, wore a mask, kept his distance, was kind, respectful and knowledgable. He worked with me to get me the best deal possible given the circumstances and even scheduled his crew to come in for treatment the very next day. Daniel and Anthony showed up the following day right on time and were similarly kind, respectful, knowledgable and swift with their work. They wore their masks and knew exactly what to do, explaining every step to me as they did their thing. One fateful late night I lazily arose from the couch to find SWARMS of dead or dying..... insects, for lack of a better term at the time, all over my kitchen, nook, and great room floors. After the tears and chills subsided to allow me the strength to vacuum up the critters, I jumped on Yelp the next morning to contact termite/pest control companies to come inspect the property (and, in essence, to help me sleep at night). Out of the four or five who quickly replied to my query, Tanler was by FAR the most personable and easy to deal with. Jeff answered all my stupid questions AND managed to book an ever-changing (on my end) time for a technician to come visit. This appointment was set the very same week, just two days after *the incident*. Brandon, the technician, was courteous (phone call 20 mins out, thank you!), professional, terrifically kind, and SUPER easy to talk to. Despite his assertion that these critters were in fact *NOT* termites, he still did a thorough termite inspection both around the perimeter of my home AND into the attic crawlspaces as far as they would allow. He reported very straightforward, detailed information, and emphasized a great deal of useful advice, especially for me as a first-time homeowner. Although the visit yielded no immediate termite or pest control need (which I guess..... is a good thing? haha), I will 100% turn to Tanler should the need arise. Termites appeared at the same location that got treated. I called them to come and check. They said they are busy and gave me a one month appointment. When they actually came out, it was almost 6 weeks. When they came for inspection and got the contract, it was within 3 days. The guy came and just sprayed the area with visible termites but not areas around. This company didn't support customers after they got the full money paid. It's totally a mistake when I gave them a 5 stars on previous review.... Well, this message is a head-up for the next customers before choosing this company. read more

I'm giving this review now, and will update it again once the services are rendered. I had an appointment today between 12pm-4pm. At 3:52 p.m., I decided to check in with the company to find out the technician's ETA. I am then told he won't be coming until 5-5:30 p.m. due to traffic. I completely understand that schedules get pushed back due to unanticipated circumstances, but a heads up would have gone a long way. I am working from home with young kids during COVID, and there's a lot that goes in to arranging schedules to work around these kinds of appointment windows. I just wish there was a little more courtesy with communicating that the technician was running late. If I had known earlier, I would have rescheduled, but now I will have to wait it out. I am hoping the service will exceed 3 stars so that I can update this post. Update: My technician ended up coming at 5:45 p.m.; however, I am very impressed with this company's customer service. After expressing my disappointment in the delay, I was immediately contacted by the company and offered a discount. I think this truly reflects that they care about the customer's satisfaction, which is important. When my technician was running even more late than what I was told, I got another follow-up call from the technician to provide me with an update. When the technician arrived, he did a thorough job of walking through my house to look at all my problem areas (I was having an ant problem). He used a gel application indoors and sprayed outdoors to take care of the ants. I am keeping my fingers crossed that these pesky ants will be gone.
