It's convenient with a Starbucks and Panera within walking distance. The staff are friendly. The room is a little dated, spots here and there could be cleaner... the towels all had little spots of brownish stains, not great. The shower had no pressure. Thankfully the A/C worked and we had no issues. (Look at other reviews, we were definitely worried in this heat!). Housekeeping staff are great, understanding it's every other day now due to environmental support, which is awesome. You can always call for extra towels and necessities. Hilton Honors gives you bottle water as a welcome gift. Much needed in this August heat. PSA: please look at your final bill before leaving, someone charged breakfast to my room, don't know how... just happy I saw it and called to get it removed asap. I would steer clear of this hotel and go elsewhere if you are able to as she is unprofessional, rude and condescending. I have been a loyal Hampton Inn customer for decades and a DIAMOND HILTON member, and have never in my life had a negative interaction with any hotel personnel, particularly a General Manager! This is my first complaint, but I felt it was quite necessary to help others to avoid this abuse. My 5 year old daughter attempted to get a paper cup off of the counter during breakfast, and was scolded by Ms. Rummel and told no that she could not get a cup. My daughter came back crying hysterically. I approached Ms. Rummel and asked what she had said to my daughter since she was crying, and was told that she told her NO bc she was "messing up her teas." I looked over and saw 2 tea bags that were somewhat out of place. I asked my daughter to clarify what had happened, and she stated that she was trying to get the cup and the teas got caught on her sweater, so she was placing them back. I went back to discuss this misunderstanding with Ms. Rummel, who was adamant that my daughter was out to mess up the coveted teabags here. So, I asked her name and explained to her that I thought she was unkind for making my daughter cry, and that it was odd that she did not feel badly or even attempt to apologize for making a child cry. **She blatantly told me that SHE WAS NOT GOING TO APOLOGIZE, and that my daughter should not be messing up her teabags and that she should not have been unaccompanied (mind you - 6 ft from where we were eating breakfast in a clear vantage point of me). I informed her I would be making a complaint with Hampton and she told me she "DID NOT CARE, BECAUSE AS THE GENERAL MANAGER - ALL COMPLAINTS COME TO HER ANYWAYS." After I told her I would be calling corporate, she continued to double down on this statement multiple times that it didn't matter, since the complaints come to her.** So, BEWARE if you choose this hotel that clearly Ms. Rummel is an unhinged individual with a power complex, and will not care about your well-being, and, in fact, overtly try to to make you feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. Save yourself some frustration and mental anguish and stay at another Hilton property, or at least until Ms. Rummel has been replaced.

This one is a mediocre example of these trusty motels. It's neither terrible or great. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable and everything works. But the room decor and design is dated and seems to have been been designed and decorated by someone without much architectural or interior design training. Frankly, the room was sort of ugly and a little depressing. The staff was okay, not particularly good or bad. The breakfast ladies were nice, though. However, the complimentary breakfast was somewhat below average for a Hampton, especially since the waffle makers were out of order and the selection of hot food (sausages, bacon, eggs, etc.) and other items was limited. Also, the location of this Hampton was a little odd, up a short drive from the main road and not visible from the highway. Due to all this, I would definitely take a look at the Courtyard by Marriott that is a couple of miles away. The prices (around $200 including taxes) are about the same, and while I didn't actually go into the Courtyard property, it sure looked more appealing than this older Hampton.

The rooms are commercial, the shower is perfect, and noise level is not low, it is non-existent. The hotel is always spotless as if it had been built the day before. The cleaning staff and housekeepers are efficient, kind, and professional. The breakfast in the morning is worth waking up for. Eggs, meats, potatoes, fruit, yogurt, breads, cereals, oatmeal, and coffee and tea are available each more. Those staff members are ultra-kind and fast. Drinking and dining at The Placery was wonderful. I had the turkey pesto sandwich on two occasions and it was perfect each time. The bartenders are kind and make great martinis. The fitness is clean with new equipment. Water and towels are also available. The security is excellent and a guest's room key allows access to the elevator, stairs, and outer doors in the late hours. As I night owl, I went out often in the wee hours and never had an issue or felt unsafe. Paid parking ($10 per day) is right next to the property and the Albany Parking app worked without issue. Only two issues: The front desk staff is efficient but the only one of them ever smiled. They often seem angry or annoyed or just plain anti-social. These people are the face of the Hyatt and should be kinder and far more welcoming. The only recycling bin is in the Fitness Center. I once brought two plastic bottles to breakfast, which I was going to bring downstairs to the bin, but a staff member picked them up and threw them right out in the regular trash. Highly recommended and I look forward to returning.

So the parking is slightly annoying but is a max of $10 in a 24 hr period, which is not that bad at all. I think anything past 10 hrs the max pay is $10 and you can come in and out within that time period without paying more. The parking lot is very close to the hotel--a 3 minute walk maybe (use the outdoor lot under the highway and not the indoor lot, as the outdoor is much cheaper, which I was advised by the front desk clerk. The hotel itself is immaculate and new--I did not see any garbage, discoloration or anything that looked like it was getting old. The front desk employee was extremely friendly and welcoming when I came in-my room was fantastic! The bed was comfortable, a large TV and even a couch in the room with a mini fridge. The shower was new and was clean and had great pressure. Every employee I came across (including those working in the breakfast area) were friendly and polite, with a smile on their face. The lobby is actually upstairs from where you park-but the signs are very clear when arriving how to get to the lobby (and you need to use a room key to get to other floors). They had fresh water with lemon and cucumber available in the lobby as well. The location is fabulous as well-walkable to many restaurants and bars in Albany--everything was close by or a very short drive. There is also a bar open in the evening which looked nice, but I did not utilize it during my stay. Finally-the included breakfast was THE BEST COMPLEMENTARY HOTEL BREAKFAST I HAVE HAD IN THE US. The breakfast area is warm and welcoming with various types of seating. The options were endless...cold cereal, oatmeal with toppings, eggs, sausage, pancakes or French toast, fresh fruit, yogurt and more. All the food was fresh and was constantly being refilled while I was in the breakfast area. I wish I could eat more, because there were so many good options, oh and coffee and tea as well as fresh orange and apple juice. I would 100 times over, stay at this Hyatt Place if I am back in the Albany area--for the cost, which was very fair--it was more than worth it. Finally-the weekend front desk employee was so kind and engaging, we had a long chat about his life and how he began working at the hotel and all his other life adventures.

I ended up propping a dining chair against the door for the one night I was there and praying that being in the middle of nowhere would protect me as well. The room itself was visibly clean with *incredibly* old fixtures and appliances. In many places the managers had chosen to paint over things rather than replace. I don't mind if things are old, but if you move or look behind the furniture (which I really should not have done) there was a world of dust bunnies and old dessicated spider webs. Unfortunately when I put my head down to sleep, I could see into the gap behind the kitchen cabinets and it was AWFUL. It seemed no one had cleaned back there in years. It was hard for me to fall asleep after that, and at that point in the night, I had no where else to go. I only stayed here because my AirBnB reservation fell through and when I called in, I was able to reserve the same day over the phone. I appreciate that they were able to accomodate me last minute, hence the two stars rather than one. There was also confusion about the actual reservation, which I was surprised by. This misunderstanding could have been my error but I don't think so. I wish that management would have been clearer in their communication with me over the telephone when I made the reservation and kinder with me in their communications over email after I checked out. Either way, I don't recommend staying here.

Okay, it's not the Ritz Carlton, but it was comfortable. Our one "complaint" was the shower water regulator was stuck and my husband ended up with a cold shower. I was able to turn the regulator (but afraid I was going to break it) and had a normal shower. All in all, I would recommend the Becket Motel if you don't care about "fancy".

They stated waste as primary reason. But during the cold winter months its always nice to have some coffee and hot cocoa. Breakfast quality and selection. Over the past year and especially after the pandemic the quality of the breakfast has really gone down. No more whip cream for the waffles. No more strawberry sauce. No more toppings. No salsa available. New patrons might not notice. But I've been coming here for the past 15 years so I notice. Rooms themselves are still fine. Maybe getting to be slightly dated but overall still well maintained. They do have to bring some of these things back!

Many hotels in the area were completely booked due to a concert at Tanglewood so my options were very limited (and expensive) given it was so last minute. There was another party checking in right behind me who had the same problem and were also sent away. The manager was on-site (came to help someone ahead of me check in) but was nowhere to be found when the stressful news was delivered to either party; I felt so badly for the person at the front desk, who was clearly upset that she was managing this on their own. I called several times to try to speak to the manager, and they either didn't answer the phone (it rang a bunch of times before disconnecting) or I was told that they would call me back, which no one did. I've never experienced this kind of unprofessionalism or disregard for customer service as this hotel has demonstrated. Please don't risk not having a place to stay when you're far from home.

It's not the most glamorous but it got the job done. At least there's a microwave and minibar to help things along. The breakfast was okay, with a few hot items and an automatic pancake maker. However, the hot items weren't replenished much and had to wait for quite some time to get eggs and bacon. This is probably something the hotel has to iron out.
