No ice machine. Wi-fi isn't working. The floor next to my bed is sticky. Fridge isn't keeping up to keep my food cold. I'm disappointed. I have minimal needs and this place doesn't meet them. I'm worried about my car and I don't feel terribly safe here with people yelling and constantly coming in and out. I can't recommend this place. 2 days - when you include the $60 of fees added to the rate, the $260 I am paying for 2 nights, after Labor Day, feels like a very bad decision. read more

Old and dirty!! The room smelled clean and that's about it. Decent shower head. Pool was fine. Staff was warm. The bathroom was gross. The paint was peeling. There was a bug squashed on the wall. Bugs in the ceiling light. We utilized two rooms during our stay. Neither of them had chain on the door. Both smelled like smoke. The WiFi was awful. We had to keep reconnecting every few minutes and it is unbearably slow. The TV was blurry- old cable boxes mixed with newer TVs. The place is RUN DOWN. Cramped and old. Trash motel. Okay...this is a budget motel. The front desk was a bit rickety but the man was friendly. After checking us in, we parked and went upstairs to our room. Pleasant surprise! The room was clean, smelled clean and pretty spacious. Shower was good too. Towels and shampoo, conditioner and soap provided plus hair dryer and two racks for luggage which was fantastic. This is easily the 4th year I've / we've stayed. This time with my boyfriend. As prior, I was very happy with Econo Lodge. He was as well. I either have really good luck w/ booking/the rooms here, or I truly don't know, but we loved our room. (#132). The king size bed was utterly comfortable, and we appreciated the Pergo (ish) hard floors - easier to clean and I truly cannot stand carpet - "skieves" me out. The armoire in front of the bed has two big cabinets - one on either side - was so cool. One side - small fridge; the other - microwave. So cool! Lots of drawers in the middle for our clothes, etc. (There is a hair dryer built into the wall, an iron, an ironing board (full size! too). We had maid service each day and the room was made up clean & tidy. (We cleaned it down anyway w/ sanitizer wipes and Lysol upon arrival). A much anticipated and NEEDED mini vacation brought us down BY 11 a.m. Guess what? OUR ROOM WAS ALREADY READY (prior to the 3 p.m. check in) and up we went! YAY!!!! Staff is very nice and accommodating. My prior review about the continental breakfast remains. Although, Joey had their sub par coffee - yich! We made big time use of the pool. Overall clean and the lounge chairs, very comfortable. I inquired about their ad for "Choice Rewards." I downloaded the app and was told I'd get points for our 3 day stay (still waiting for them to show). You can also apply (I'm thinking on it) for their credit card - great promo if it's truly honored & legit. I feel badly that this place gets such sh*tty reviews. It's really nice - great location & staff, clean, a mere walk to WaWa and the Windjammer (even the Somers Point Diner), plus the pool. Sure, stay away - better for us ;) read more

Holy Christ, I've only seen places like this depicted in seedy movies from the 70's , On a good note I can say the staff was definitely helpful, and friendly, I would agree with most of the other reviews in that respect. But I still do not understand how a national chain can have room accommodations so deplorable. After becoming suspect after checking in, I decided to check this place out on yelp, probably should've done that first . I started looking around for bedbugs, luckily didn't find any other than a beetle that was under the mattress Cover. After looking a bit further found a few other miscellaneous bugs, The overall cleanliness of the room was fair at best, one thing I could say about this place is that it is in a safe neighborhood and the roof was not leaking While we were there during bad weather Another issue, Was that we needed to repeatedly go back to the front desk to have our access cards reprogrammed so we could enter our room.,very frustrating! If you make the unfortunate mistake of booking this place and the weather is decent, at least you will be able to spend your time at the beach and outside at the pool which was far nicer than the inside of this place . So in closing, do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place, as well as the S hole Directly next-door with a similar name, yeah you know the place but that's a whole other story. This is my first time at a motel since the COVID started so I brought my own cleaning kit just in case. Room was as advertised. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Pool was awesome, my wife and I had a very relaxing time. I would highly suggest to bring your own pillows as the ones in the room are a bit over used and not comfortable. Don't get me wrong, everything was spotless and clean when we arrived but it doesn't hurt to bring your own disinfectant wipes, toilet paper and Lysol just in case. Because of COVID they are not cleaning on a daily basis which I feel it was great. All I did was asked for clean towels every morning an a trash bag. We put the trash out and the dirty linen out in a bag in front of the room. Before you knew it, it was gone. I will come back again if in the area. read more

I would give a -0- if possible. Over the years, I have stayed in many Econo Lodges and felt I got okay value for the money. Here the check-in attendant was acceptable and polite, but everything else could not have been worse. While I don't expect too much from Econo Lodge, this one was so grotesque and broken down that after 45 minutes we left our keys in the room, didn't ask for a refund, and simply left for another establishment. (My mistake.) The property was disgusting and I was embarrassed for I had also set up my sister with a room. Anyway, the grounds were dirty and the dark, dingy rooms looked as if the bed linens had been from the 1970s. My wife did not want to even unpack her suitcase and put anything on the tables or bedding is smelled and looked so bad. (I couldn't blame her.) Smoke from other customers was inescapable. Trash and litter was spread throughout the property. You had to step over trash to climb the disintegrating stairs and walk the crumbling walkways. I had booked the room on hotel.com and the pictures there and here are not representative of the deteriorating condition of the parking lot, walkways, stairs, rooms, lighting, etc. You couldn't pay me money to stay here. We had booked a room with 2 queen beds and when our group of 6 got there, we were told the room was a maximum of 2 people unless we wanted to pay $25 per extra person. I see the value in staying just over the bridge from OC. Along with lower rates you are only 5 minutes( traffic willing) from the beaches. But there is still that pesky parking issue, you will have to drive, then find a space and more than likely pay for it dearly. So is it worth staying near the boards to avoid fees when your primary destinations are the beach and Boardwalk? That's for the vacationer in question to decide. The highlight of this humble way station is the clean pool and patio area with plenty of chairs and covered tables. It's set very close to the major road, but can satisfy kids and parents just wanting to de-sand. The rooms are very outdated, bathroom was the exception. But having no sink in it was less than ideal. Bedding was clean and the bed itself better quality than the room would suggest. Several free HBO options, but tv should not be a concern in selecting a beach hotel. A continental breakfast is available in the mornings, offerings look standard or worse and left me wondering which continent was being referred to. It's your vacation budget, maybe by saving a few dollars here you can splurge on that salt water taffy. read more

Tiny cramped rooms.not even enough room for the roll off to unfold and walk ,it was musty and had to be sprayed to be used..the full breakfast is mini muffins n mini bagels. The wifi is terrible. And I had to fight with the night guy to get a towel for each of us?5 people he said only 3 towles. No we all need one .just creepy.it was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.the only good thing was the pool . If I could give it less then one star I would. The room smelled like mold. Please do not come here. I booked for 2 nights, paid a little over $800 (we had 6 guests) and it was a NIGHTMARE! First of all, the man at the front desk was rushing us the whole time as we were trying to check in. The key cards did not work until the 5th attempt. As soon as we opened the door, we were met with the horrible smell of cigarettes. I had my 3 younger children with me and I had to go out and buy air fresheners for the room. That's not even the worst part. My son was washing his face in the sink and my husband was about to take a shower when they both screamed. I ran over and the water was coming out brown!!! We left it running, hoping it would change back to normal but it did not. I went downstairs to speak with the man at the front desk because SHOCKER the phone in the room did not work!! I showed him the video of the disgusting brown water and he simply shrugged his shoulders and said it wasn't his problem. He told us to just keep running the hot water. I asked if we could switch rooms, he said no because they were all booked. Mind you, it was 1am and there were 4 cars in the parking lot and about 50 rooms. My son felt sick because he had gotten some of the water in his mouth and had a bad tummy ache the whole night. When I asked if we could do a late check out, he was rude and condescending and said that late check outs don't exist. The room was never cleaned, even though we had put the sign on the door for cleaning service. Overall rating is a 1/10. Only good part is that it's only across the bridge from the beach. Please don't waste your money on this place and find a different place to stay! read more

How's about shampoo? Cleans your hair well, makes you feel alive in the morning. Not so much here. All they had was lotion in the bathroom...no shampoo. If I could give ZERO stars I would. This is literally the worst hotel I have ever been to. There were holes in the curtains, smelled of dust and mold, floor was dusty, and there was a decent sized dark stain on the bed closest to the door. Stayed for 20 mins tops. Due to the conditions I left. I tried to get a refund that they wouldn't even accommodate me a partial refund for that bad of a room. All they could do is offer me another room. If one was atrocious then all of them are. If you have allergies or asthma DO NOT STAY HERE. $75 isnt even worth what my eyes saw. The pictures on all booking sites are inaccurate. The receptionist lied to corporate and to the bank saying there was nothing wrong with the room just so they could keep the money. Theres no reception inside the rooms also. No phone calls or wifi. The rooms smell, the sheets aren't particularly clean, the towels are itty-bitty and scratchy as hell, and don't get me started on "ambiance". Behind the middle building is a number of dilapidated truck trailers and the pool is way across the parking lot - right next to a major highway. I had not the stomach nor the courage to test the "continental" breakfast at this place as I'm fairly certain there's much more fun ways to give yourself food poisoning or dine with vermin/insects. For the money, in season, I was pleasantly surprised. It was a bit damp and musty but that seems to be the norm for most shore spots. It was VERY clean, which is my #1 priority at any price, lighting was better than most rooms, plenty of outlets too. Loved that floors were NOT carpeted as I have allergies and sinus problems. Staff helpful and pleasant. Only had two comp!aints. We did have some noisy neighbors but nothing horrendous that I would have gone to the office about. Main complaint was that the filters in A.C./heating unit were filthy...Easily resolved, I just rinsed them out. (I was familiar with the type of unit so knew to check them, especially with the covid/aerosol droplet thing going on.) I would ask management to be aware of this though- maybe my unit was a one off situation? All in all I would recommend this motel. Location was great. Right across the bridge from Ocean City, and highly recommend Diorio's bar right down the street for great food, decent prices. read more

This motel is the best in the Somers Point area. This is not including hotels like Sonesta and Pier 4 but just motels. Some gave star ratings from Priceline can't be substantiated. They are entirely misleading. The motels to absolutely avoid are the Owl, Budget and Economy. Econo-Lodge is fair and has employed a nice GM by the name of Isaac for years. I have no first hand knowledge of the Passport property. It's my opinion that the Econo-Lodge is your best option if your selecting a "motel" and use Priceline to book your room. They usually offer at least a 20% discount off the best price Econo-Lodge will quote. read more

The hotels in this area on a summer Saturday were pretty expensive. We finally settled on this place but will look earlier and further next time. Even though the room was recently renovated it still lacked some things. There was no place to hang clothes up and of course no hangar! The Internet wouldn't allow a connection even though we had sign-in info. The shower was at best luke warm. Although the bed seemed new, the pillows were minimal - so flat. It looked like they were making an effort to improve, but have a long way to go. I wish them the best. BTW, the picture of the room is much larger than the one we stayed in. read more

The main office is dirty, clothes and other items visible behind the desk, desk person inattentive and zero customer service. The rooms are disgusting. They smell like smoke, urine stain on my supposedly clean fitted sheet, dead bugs, old beat up Furniture, the cheapest beds they could buy, the bathroom based disgusting with mold and recently patched ceiling that looked as though it was going to fall down soon. The pool was nice but I there was a nice thick film of sunscreen or something shimmering in it. To be honest I looked for another hotel the first night but everywhere else was booked. Had a nice stay for the weekend. The rooms are redone, and very clean. The bed was comfortable. Front desk was very nice. Breakfast was a standard continental breakfast with decent coffee. The only thing that doesn't make sense is the mini fridge and microwave are in a cabinet with no ventilation. This caused the refrigerator to not be very cold. This was in our price range for a June Friday night. The problem with Econo Lodge is that some are very nice and others shouldn't be allowed any brand name to them. This is closer to the latter than the former. The bathroom might be the smallest one I've ever seen. If you sit on the toilet your knees are over the tub. The mattresses and box springs could be replaced to be more comfortable. And the thermostat is the kind where it doesn't have a temperature setting, you turn it on and when it gets too cold you turn it off. read more

they clam that the rooms are non smoking and charge you for cleaning room if they fine you been smoking in them but if some one smokes outside it comes right thou the AC into the room... sorry that is not a smoke free non smoking room to me. everything in the room is dark colors in my opinion to hide the dirt on the furniture you could see the black dirt on the red chairs if you just look. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! This company is stealing people's money! My husband and I along with 3 other couples stayed here. I was quoted $512.37. The man at front desk kept saying my card was declined when it was not. He kept trying to charge my card multiple times, had to call my bank. They informed me this place charged me a total of 7 times for almost $9,000! This also happens to the other 3 couples who stayed with us. We all had separate rooms and they were ALL over charged by hundreds of dollars. Corporate did not help either. Initially we stayed here for the price and the fact it was a 20 min drive to Atlantic City. Never again. These people are scamming everyone out of money. The hotel itself is old and run down, pool was very dirty. Rooms were clean. The housekeeping staff was very efficient and friendly. That's the only positive of the whole place. read more

The room was about $135 and not terrible, although we know people who reserved a room at the beautiful Residence Inn less than a mile away and paid the exact same price we did. Lesson learned. If I could give this place a zero I would. The second I walked into the room it reeked of mildew. We spoke to the people staying a few doors from us and said that their room had the same smell. All the front desk did for us was handed us febreeze. I woke up with a head ache from breathing in the awful smell of mold all night. How bad can a hotel get? Econolodge Somers Point is the poster child. I worked for Marriott, so I will be clinical. Check-in, confused. I prepaid online, but there was no record of it. The motel is as seedy in appearance as I have ever seen. Not a family place, unless the family name is Bates. Construction equipment occupies half the parking lot. About a third of the rooms are closed for renovatiom. I wad given a room that smelled like an ashtray and mold. I requested another room, a non-smoking room. The new room smelled like mold, tobacco, and an overdose of lysol. The "non-smoking room" had cigarette burns on the tub and the sink. I wanted to call the front desk, but the phone didn't work. I hiked to the office and was met with a so what attitude. Back to the room. No clock. Couldn't call for a wake up call. Shower...no pressure. A trickle came from the rusted shower head. The sub floor under the shower was rotted, so it was like trying to shower while standing on a water bed. I fell twice due to the wobbling tub floor. The door frame was cracked from previously being kicked in. I checked out and moved to another hotel. Can I do a minus star? STAY AWAY! read more

This hotel cancels your reservation without notice. I have stayed here for years and this year drive an hour and a half to find out they cancelled my reservation. I told them that I had an email confirmation of my reservation and no one called or emailed to tell me it was cancelled. Place was booked and I was only told to go to their other location which is not even near this one. No sorry, no let me give you money off your next stay - nothing. The man I spoke to is the one that is always there and has seen me before but could care less that me and my family had no room.
