After using this place through 2020-2025 i had to bring my car in . Turns out the crap they use for oil and the fact they put as little as humanly possible . Coupled with the fact they wont tell you if fluid is oxidizing in system like all fluids they check if they ask and you say no they dont tell you something is wrong . Pay a few extra dollars . I had my oil changed in my car yesterday. My husband also went about an hour earlier to the same location for his oil change. He had no issue except online it states that Wednesday (when we went) was senior discount day and it was 50% off for seniors. My husband had a screen shot of the offer. The location said they only gave $30 off not 50%. So, he accepted that and left. No issues. He called me to tell me the offer changed because I was going to same location an hour later. I arrive at location, get greeted by a guy who was pleasant and went into the waiting area. About 10 minutes later my car was done. I went to the counter to pay and no one came over for awhile. Finally a guy came over to cash me out. I stated I wanted the senior discount. He asked me for my coupon. I told him it is online and I have a screen shot of it. He says that's 'ai' and he wouldn't take it. He said I had look at the website for the coupons. So I did and there was no senior deal.On the website it said to mention the offer to get it! I told him my husband was there an hour earlier and got $30 off. THIS is when it went bad. He was very nasty,indignant, and degrading. He told me he didn't have that and "I had to pick the coupon of $20 off or nothing!" I said my husband was just here pull up his receipt. So he did and it showed the $30 off- with the code. I said then call the guy over who gave it to him He said the guy who did that wasnt there (in my opinion a blatant lie to shut me up). I asked for the manager and he said he wasnt there - that he was it and I had to deal with him. He was very condescending, nasty and I feel discriminatory against me for my sex and age (I am 70 yr old female) He refused to override the offer and the code was on my husband's recepit. So I used their services today. I printed out the coupon you sent to me on 9/3. The manager at the store in Vernon would not accept it since it did not have the expiration date on it. If you were to cut their coupon out it would not have the expiration date. However it does have a promotion code so you would think that code would be enough to ensure is wasn't expired. I tried to log into my hotmail account but had forgotten the password. So I asked for the coupon back to look for dates. It had 9/3 which is the date it was sent to me. It is 9/4 today and he still wouldn't honor it. He said the best he could do is 10% off. I asked if I could go home and print another one with the expiration date and he said that it's too late to get that discount. So he printed my receipt, did not give me the 10% discount. I have been coming here for at least 20 years between your broad street one and this one. Pretty short sided on your manager's actions to not give me the discount. Today, his car began spewing out oil on his way to work and he had to pull over due to his check oil light going on. I brought my girlfriends car for a oil change and while it was being done I was approached by one of the associates and they up sold me on a radiator flush and transmission fluid change. They told me it needed to be done based on the manufacturer, suggesting it being done every 60,000 miles, which is not true. I told them to have it done because we were leaving for Florida that night, needless to say an hour into our trip we had to pull over to find out there was no fluid because it was overheating. Thank God My Girlfriend had a gallon of 50-50 radiator fluid in the car, but it still wasn't enough. I happen to have a gallon of distilled water for my CPAP machine. It also took that entire gallon it stopped overheating after that about another 10 hours and had to again add another gallon of antifreeze to make it to Florida. Now we are here stuck in Florida with a vehicle that is leaking radiator fluid from under the hood, which never did it before your buyer beware don't have anything done on your car now we have to bring the car to a dealership and ruin our vacation! read more

I just left the Vernon shop for a oil change and was told that my third break light and both back up bulbs where burnt out. I know that I have a better chance of getting hit by lighting then having three bulbs out not to mention they wanted $15 Bucks per bulb . They also gave me a list of the things I need to service witch involved all fluids and its a Jeep so all the gear boxes, transmission and coolant and a tune up. They priced everything ($1,000). I have been going to Economy since Broad St was the only shop but I will no longer go there because ALL THE BULBS WORK JUST FINE. I have to run some errands sure hope I don't get hit by LIGHTING. Qualifier - This review is solely based upon emissions testing services. I've had my emissions tested here three or four times now, and it has been quick and seamless every time. The most recent time was today. There was one car in the bay and three waiting in front of me when I arrived, but I was out in under 25 minutes! Quick service, and I appreciated waiting in my car in while in line, as opposed to the waiting room. I think the flow of moving your own car up each time someone leaves, then leaving it in front of the clear roll-up door and getting out when you're the next car to be tested speeds things up. Overall it's just less of a hassle than many other places I've gone, where they have you bring the keys in, then the tech comes and gets them from the desk and goes to find your car. I'm sure emissions testing isn't the business they'd ideally want from me, but I'll continue to come here for mine as long as they offer the service. read more

This review is for an oil change. My regular mechanic wasn't available and I needed an oil change so I took a chance here. I won't be coming back. Positives include being able to walk in and get a quick oil change. For the regular oil change, they charged about as much as my mechanic usually does. And when asked about coupons/discounts, they readily applied what was available. Negatives include the up charges (three times in that one visit). As a woman, I'm very wary of car places because they try to up charge me. First, I'm frustrated that for the oil change, they presented only two options: synthetic or premium synthetic, and conveniently left out the regular oil as a third option. Second, they tried to upcharge me with an offer to replace my windshield wipers. Third, they physically brought my (implied dirty) filter into the waiting room to try to convince me to buy new filters. I wasn't in the waiting room long, but I didn't see them pulling this stunt with any of the men in the room. For logistics, you drive in and there's two lines. You wait in your car until you're first in line to the bay. Left was for oil change which was short with just two cars ahead of me waiting for the two bays. Right was for emissions which was significantly longer with 5+ cars waiting for one bay. This was during the midweek before the workday ended. There's not much room to maneuver, so once you're in line, you're committed. Once you're at the front, you hop out, the worker asks what kind of oil you want, then they drive it into the bay for service and you head left into the waiting room. You pay once they're done their service(s). I was in and out in about 30min max. I'm grateful for how quickly and conveniently my oil got changed, but it's not worth the stress and disrespect of constantly wondering how they'll try to slyly take more money. I'll make sure to go to my regular mechanic in the future (who has never up charged me). read more

I went there for just an oil change, went less than a quarter mile down the road and my emergency red warning "low oil pressure" light came on as well as my check engine light. I immediately pulled over, plugged in my truck for the diagnostic and it read that the cam position sensor was bad, and other warnings. Called the store in Vernon ct (across from kfc) for a service person to come and help. After 20 mins and another call he pulled and screamed at me to move my truck off a slant position. (No apologies, nothing). I moved my tuck and he proceeded to dip the oil sick in 10-20 times saying there was "oil on the back of the dip stick". After he put three quarts of oil into my truck, call my son an " idiot and get in the truck and start it" (I have on video), he argued with me and told me I had problems with my truck before hand. Mind you, the mechanics come out during the oil change and tell me everything looks good. I went back to the shop and asked for a refund of $85 dollars for the oil change ( 11.99$, for the extra quart) he refused, refused his name, and refused corporates phone number. I put a called a different location and asked for corporates number, gladly given. I have left numerous numbers to corporate and have yet to have a return call. I left there with my truck and went straight to a truck mechanic. I have $2800 worth of damage to my truck and no one will call me back. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT USING THIS COMPANY!! read more

A very very very disappointing experience there. I suggest not to waste your time going there. You will not be able to get your oil change done at a decent time. We were in a long line line waiting for our turn. Two cars in the next lane CUT in and did not have to decency to wait in the long line behind us and wait for their turn! Sure enough they had their service done first before we had ours! I reported to the manager about the people in the long line and how they are deserving of the services FIRST before the two cars who cut-in in the second line. Manager's response was "Nothing to do about it." I responded to put a cone in that lane so those who waited can get their services first. Again managers response was "nothing we can do. ". Went in recently for an oil change. A chubby man with black hair and a beard was very rude and condescending to me. This facility takes advantage of young women and the elderly by saying extra services are "due" without looking at your vehicles history. The guy showed me my air filters and said they needed to be changed but the filters he showed me weren't even from my car but just assumed I'd be dumb enough to say to change them. They also didn't put air in my tires or fill the wiper fluid which is part of the services advertised included with an oil change. Unethical half assed business practices. I will say that (as it is with any oil change place or dealership) they try to upcharge for air filters and other things. This has been my go to spot for the few things I can't do in my home garage for the last 5 years. Those things being emissions testing and tire mount/balance jobs. However, after my last experience, I will be looking for a new tire mount/balance shop. I called ahead and scheduled a day/time for a 4 tire mount and balance job with brand new tires. The tires were mounted and balanced within 30 minutes and then laid against the car for an additional 45 minutes while occasionally inspected and wiped around the center hub with a rag by both the technician and shop owner. Weird, right? When the wheels finally went on, I had the unfortunate experience of watching the technician drive all of the lug nuts on with the impact gun, without hand starting any of them. I do however have to give him credit for returning with a torque wrench to make sure the potentially cross threaded lug nuts weren't going anywhere. After paying and getting home I needed to know why they kept looking at and wiping the wheels for so long before mounting them back on the car. Upon my 10 second inspection I noticed that they messed up the center caps when they knocked them out and then used an RTV sealant/silicone to glue them back into place. I would have rather them handed me the center caps and explained the situation because not only is there RTV all over the emblems and surrounding areas, but they banged them in all crooked and inconsistent which looks absolutely terrible. Now I have to take the wheels off, bang the caps out, clean out all the sealant/silicone, buy new center caps and install them properly. A little honesty and transparency would have gone a long way with me, but the issue was never mentioned and because of that, they lost a loyal customer. I doubt they'll miss my business but because of this experience, I will be taking my money to a different shop in the future. read more

Sadly this location is not trustworthy. I was talked into a service that was not needed. Told it was necessary and I was taken for $175 only to later find out it was not needed; simply an up charge. Well in the waiting room I have seen how some people get their oil change without question yet others are posed with several again unnecessary options. Often times it is women and young girls who are taking advantage of. Many reports of people asking for regular oil but then given synthetic and charged more. I was here about a week ago to get my tire checked because it had a slow air leak. The guy who checked it out later told me there is nothing he could do to fix it because there is a nail to close to the edge of the tire to plug. He told me I'm due for new tires soon anyways and proceeded to hand me quotes for tires. I told him I'd think about it since I was waiting until winter to get new tires and I left. The next day my father took my tire off to take a look at how close the nail was to the edge and it was in the dead center!!! I've been using economy oil for years now and I've never been disappointed..until today. I got there at 9am for an oil change, the line was alittle long but not bad. By the time I got to be the next car to go into a bay it was 915. The car in front of me had some issues and took 30 minutes. Noone said anything or had me move so while I waited 3 other vehicles went through the first bay. By the time my car was finally in the bay it was 945! When I got up to the desk to pay I asked for a discount for having to wait so long while other people who came after me were helped and had left by then. I was kinda laughed at which was annoying then I added that I had a coupon to use as well and she laughed and said it's 1 or the other. So I asked to speak with a manager. He okayed her to do it but when I asked how the coupons were taken if the total was still high all she had to say was the tax but instead she copped an attitude and took all the coupons off to get to total with tax...then she turned her head and was definitely making faces and most likely lipped something because other employees were looking at her and 1 even laughed and said sarcasticly to have a nice day... what great customer service you have representing the front desk! A recent trip to Economy has me rethinking why I'm going there. If it wasn't for the quickness of changing the oil, I'd be somewhere else in a heart flash. As a customer I don't know how many of their 17 free checks they actually do. I should actually check their work by popping up the hood afterwards. I also don't need to be 'Up sold' on purchasing new breaks for $200 less a $50 coupon just by doing a visual and not bothering to take my tire off. For that, 2 stars were taken away. Worst experience ever! The manager and one of the coworkers would not tell me their names, because they knew they were in the wrong. I watched 3 cars come in-and-out while mine sat because the car in front of me had a problem. The right thing to do would have been to move my car over to the next lane but they never acknowledged it. And when I spoke up and asked their names they would not tell me. I have been to all three Economy Oil Change locations and I would probably say I like this one the least. Don't get me wrong, I still obviously rated it 4 stars, so saying it was the worst of the 3 isn't saying much. They offer the same basic oil change and 16 point inspection as the others do, as well as the free stuff. They have free coffee and cappuccinos for you while you wait for your car to be ready. My biggest issue with this is thats exactly what you do is wait. The other two locations for some reason seem to really get you in and out much quicker. read more

Since my initial review, I have brought both my work vehicle and girlfriend's car here for oil changes. Depending on when you go, service is typically in-and-out. Avoid going right after work, or there will be a significantly longer wait. A full service oil change includes engine oil and oil filter replacement, as well as topping off most fluids. They do cabin and air filter checks too and often suggest I replace mine, but that's something you can do at home for a lot cheaper. As a note, this includes up to 5 quarts of oil, anything more than 5 and you'll pay a fee. There's ALWAYS an online coupon on their website so don't forget about that to save a few bucks. Otherwise, this is a fast and cheap solution if you're too lazy to do your own oil change! :) read more

Without a doubt, I'm a fan of this place. It's not often I'm able to change my car's oil and so I had to give in and try out some place that could get the job done. Economy Oil Change states that they'll get the job done in 10 minutes, they got mine done in less than that time and still managed to go above and beyond. They went through everything at a good pace and even discovered things in my new car that I hadn't known about. Their advice was great and staff was great also!
