A rep approached my house and we started talking about beehives and bugs. He seemed very knowledgeable and polite. We had signed up to get the beehives removed our yard and home sprayed for ants and spiders, etc. The following day, he showed up slightly early to explain that they would be running late. As this was getting into later evening after 7 PM I was wondering if they would be able to pull the job off. I got a notification on my phone that my work was rescheduled to the following evening and then the rep gave me a phone call saying they would have to reschedule till the next night. This company is a scam company. I started with a two-year contract and called to pay the fee to cancel the contract, the rep drop the price and secured a remaining one year contract stating my contract would be canceled once that year was over. Come to find out not the case. They sent an unauthorized tech out to complete an unauthorized service, charge me for it and are refusing to give me a refund. We had this service for a year and their treatments were ineffective against ants. They would just repeat that it takes three weeks for their bait to work, but it never really did. (Also you go through a call center before you can reach scheduling, which takes extra time). All in all, disappointing. read more

This is a horrible company. When the representative came she told me that the one month follow up was included with the initial service/payment which seemed responsible since I was paying $200. Then when I paid the initial service and the one month follow up came, they charged me another $219!!! The deception of it all. EcoShield Review - One Year Later I signed up with EcoShield a little over a year ago. Three months in, I called to ask about their "pest-free promise," which is supposed to include free follow-up visits if pests return. The representative I spoke with made it very clear they would not be coming back out. On top of that, even though I wasn't calling to cancel, he aggressively reminded me that canceling early would result in a cancellation fee of over $1,000, since I was under a year-long contract. After the fourth service visit, I called again--this time intending to cancel. The rep I spoke with was much nicer. He explained that the contract required five completed services, but said he could process the cancellation to take effect after that fifth visit. That was appreciated. The technician came out for the fifth and final service, confirmed with the rep that my account would be canceled, and even followed up via text asking for a review. I replied, thanked him, and confirmed (again) that my account was officially canceled. Fast forward to today--months later--and I receive a text that a tech is scheduled to come out and my card on file would be charged. I called immediately, and what followed was unbelievable: 42 minutes, three different people, and repeated attempts to sidestep my request. No matter how many times I said, "I want my account canceled, do not send anyone," they kept responding with, "Yes, we canceled your appointment. You're scheduled for service on July 9th." It was like talking to a wall. I had to threaten to file a complaint with the BBB and report any charges to my bank as fraud just to get taken seriously. Even after they "confirmed" the cancellation over the phone, I had to insist multiple times for a written confirmation. What I received was an email saying I had requested cancellation and should call them--while I was already on the phone with them. Unbelievable. Eventually, I received the proper email stating my account was canceled. To be clear, my issue was not with the technicians or the service itself. My problem lies squarely with the rep early on who refused to honor the pest-free guarantee and only focused on scaring me with the cancellation fee. That conversation ruined my trust in the company. I would never ever recommend this company. They come to our neighborhood which is a private area. We are experiencing the same things that everyone else is experiencing in the other negative reviews. We have many beloved pets in this neighborhood and I DO NOT trust them with their chemicals. I asked them a couple of times in person "what kind of chemicals do you use?" And the first statement was "basic ingredients from under your kitchen sink", it wasn't an honest or very detailed answer so the next time they came we asked again and they said "hydro chloric acid" so I googled it and come to find out these chemicals are NOT SAFE for pets and who on this earth keeps hydrochloric acid under their sink?!. We declined the yard sprays but even now I wish I never got any spray on the house even for bees. They also wanted to put mouse traps in our yard but the thing is we do not have a mouse problem because we have a large cat colony here that takes care of that! If you want to keep your animals safe please do not use them!!!! They are very pushy with service, we've decided to order no soliciting signs just because of them but I doubt they will work just like what others have said. They are going to lose their company if they continue to be money hungry! We also experienced the same thing with the deception and run around of cancellation fees of $250. We explained to them that we have financial burdens coming up this month already for example SURGERY which is going to cost a lot of money and money has been really tight but after telling them these truths they STILL DO NOT CARE about your financial well being and will take you for granted!!!! So for now we are still on their hook until the contract ends but WOW I've never met such a deceptive company in my adult life until now. If you live in Canyon Creek please decline their services because their chemicals will likely pollute our beautiful forest, fruit trees, animals, and bodily health. I understand the need to control bugs but there is a safer way to do it and you can find a way to do it yourself, we at least live in a climate where summer is very short and the lifespan of pests is only a short lived 3-4 months until fall/winter hits and wipes most of them out. If you're struggling with carpenter bees or carpenter insects - get sealer and seal every gap/hole from the outside of your house. Or hire someone else who actually does better business. From the very beginning, the first knock on the door, we were very hesitant on our house being serviced, we weren't sure what we actually needed yet since this is a brand new manufactured home so we are still figuring out which insects we even have if any, so to have a pushy company trying to get you to buy their services and to lock us into a contract without really being clear on that is totally backfired. You don't lock people in on something or you make it more clear to people who are "hesitant". The first visit I said "ok maybe, let me talk it over first - I might be interested". Second visit we said "no" because we wanted the animals to stay safe but on the second visit our "no" wasn't taken at face value and the salesperson talked my partner into it with many words, telling us that we should purchase a different service on the house. I could tell this guy wanted our money more than anything. Your serviceman told us that we were getting a 3 month trial and we thought it would end after that! If I could give them zero stars I would. They come to your house with a salesman that promises great service and you pay $200+ a visit for them to clean spider webs off your house. They say they will use chemicals that kill bugs and pests but we saw ZERO reduction in bugs and spiderwebs. The salesman also told us he would handle the moles we were dealing with and when they started service, that was an additional $250+ a visit. Not trustworthy and not honest. With all that said, the technicians that come to the house do a really nice job clearing spiderwebs and I appreciated that, but that is not what I asked for or expected for treatment. Ignores no soliciting signs and won't take no even when told we already have an exterminator. Next visit he's getting a call to the local authorities. Aggressive cold call at the door. promised 'the moon'. our main concern was SPIDERS of every shape and size and color. They have come out 4 times now and it actually seems like there are MORE spiders. their customer service reps both on the phone and in person are like robots. highly programmed and scripted but it feels like they do not hear you. They are very prompt at answering phones and showing up on time AND CHARGING THE CARD. We had to replace our card somewhere during this relationship. I forgot to call and give them the new card. you would have thought I committed murder they aggressive way they responded to remedy the 'card denied' issue. IF ONLY THEY COULD KILL SPIDERS WITH THE SAME AMBITION!! I hired them to protect my home from spiders and other pests. It took me about a month after requesting services from this company to D Webb the spiderwebs that were all over my deck. They finally came left a postcard on my door that they performed the services and when I came home from work, every single spiderweb was still on my deck. You cannot reach anybody locally to talk about an issue. This company's salespeople mislead and are dishonest about their service. They tell you that all your neighbors have a rat problem and take advantage of elderly people. They charged us $436.00 and said to sign a form so they could kill the rats in our crawl space. They did not tell us that we were going to be on the hook for 24 months with a charge of $196.20 the next month and bimonthly for 24 months. When I tried to cancel, they started billing me for $218.00. They were a no-show for 2 appointments to have someone look in our crawl space in November and accomplished nothing. They talked over me and pushed to sell me additional services rather than listening to my request to cancel the account. They tried to tell me that I had signed up for a 12 month contract and couldn't cancel it until the services were all rendered, which was completely false. I had to repeat myself no less than 10 times that they needed to cancel my account and only after raising my voice did they finally agree to process the cancelation. This company is a scam. This is the worst company I've ever dealt with. They are completely unethical, dishonest, and our ant problem got worse with their service. They lied about their service and said retreats were free, which they were not. Every time I tried to get a hold of someone it took weeks to get another technician out. I also had to wait on hold for 30 minutes each time I called in. when I called to cancel service They kept transferring me to different departments and I was on hold for 45 minutes. They did not cancel my service. I had to call in yet again and sit on hold. I finally had to text their department and got written confirmation they had canceled my service. I put a stop payment on their service because I had a feeling they would try to charge me again. They did. Two weeks later I got a text asking for my updated billing information because there was an invoice they needed to send me. I just put a complaint in with the Better Business Bureau. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! Last month we were heavily solicited by a sales person from this company (Drew) and were told that we had rats when we knew we didn't. He insisted that we did and signed us up for service. He did NOT enter our crawl space but made a determination from looking. Another tech came out to do a monthly check and we told him what happened and that we wanted to cancel service. He said he did not see signs of rats either. When we called to cancel we were charged another $240 for a cancellation fee. All together we have been SCAMMED by this company for about $600 all because someone came to OUR door and pressured us into buying something we didn't need. I do my own pest control and have a pretty good handle on it. But I listened to the door-to-door salesmen routine and against my better judgment, signed up for a 1 year contract. They came out a couple times, per their routine, and an extra time because I complained that I still had spiders. I am more effective at controlling the spiders using insecticide from Home Depot than they are with whatever fancy bug juice they use. Then, they recommended I take advantage of their "free crawlspace and attic inspection", since they had caught a mouse in a trap in the crawlspace. Again, against my better judgment, I agreed. Before the inspection, I did my own inspection of the crawlspace and attic and found nothing of concern. Their inspector then came and claimed to do a "thorough" inspection of both the crawlspace and attic. We have a 3000 sqft rambler. I was surprised at how "efficient" he was to crawl around the entire perimeter of the crawlspace and inspect the entire attic, get cleaned up, and write up a 5 page report of his findings . . . all in less than 30 minutes. His report had findings throughout the entire attic and crawlspace, claiming there was a mouse infestation in the attic, however when I pressed him, he admitted to me that he only went 10 feet into the attic during his inspection. One may wonder, how could he possibly document findings in the entire attic if he only went 10' into it (on a very large rambler)? Oh, and the baited traps he left in the attic still have not caught a single mouse, nor have any of my traps in the past. His recommendation was to remove and replace all the insulation in the attic AND completely remove and replace the vapor barrier in the crawlspace. They would help me with this service for a mere $24,836. The $219 penalty I had to pay to cancel the contract is complete bullshit, but I did sign the contract. It's probably some of the best money I have spent to be rid of these dishonest people. Needless to say, I am no longer a customer and I do not recommend this company. read more

Basically paid $200+ of Unpaid service just to get out of the "annual" "quarterly service which requires 5 paid visits (not 4 which one one assume would be "quarterly"). My fault for not attending to the fine print of this "contract" which felt informal at the time, but I recommend staying well clear from this "subscription" exterminator organization. Sales/outreach person Drew was extremely difficult to communicate with on multiple occasions during a home visit. He came to a private home that I work at with elderly residents at least 3 times in 2 days. On the last visit (today) which I was present for he stood outside the door and waited for me to open it despite there being a very clear piece of paper taped to the front door reading "No Soliciting". I attached a picture. He attempted to get the homeowners to sign up for services starting the next day despite being told that their other caregivers and family need to discuss before making decisions. He also practically insisted on going into the garage to look for mice droppings. I told him no 2-3 times before he finally understood. It is important to be assertive and confident when selling a product or service, but Drew (working in sunset area of Bham) took it to an extreme level that I would describe as manipulative and disingenuous. His insistence on providing service (for hundreds of dollars up front) to elderly people who have daily caregivers and cognitive challenges showed his lack of understanding and basic human decency. read more

I was told I would receive a service to enter my crawl space and block passages for rodents and place traps then when the technician showed up was told they would not enter the crawl space, but would still be charged the same amount. The second appointment that I was under the impression would be in 30-45 days then was scheduled in 24 days without my confirmation. The cancelation fee that I was told would be $30 then turned into $252.48 Never use this company as they are a worse pest then the ones they claim to get rid of.
