We went to Ed Kellum based on a recommendation from a friend and also because we wanted better service than we could expect from a big box store like Home Depot/Lowe's. On January 4th, we purchased a KitchenAid double oven from Mark Pritchard. It was expected to arrive in late January, so he gave us an approximate installation date of February 1. Since we hadn't heard from him during the first week of February, we called him several days after the promised installation date to check on the status. He seemed surprised to get our call. He called us back and told us that the KitchenAid was on backorder for several more weeks. So, he offered us a more expensive oven (at a discount, but still more money than we planned to spend) and we paid the difference ONLY because we needed a working oven. The Fulgor Milano was installed the following Saturday. But, Kellum's installer failed to test both ovens before he left. After he left, we discovered that only one of them worked. We contacted Mark who sent an electrician to our house. The electrician determined nothing was wrong with the wiring at our house. We contacted Mark again. Mark then arranged (through Kellum's distributor) to send Apex (a repair company) to our house. Apex replaced two parts on the oven, and it still didn't work. Our request for a new (WORKING) oven was declined by both Mark and the distributor, and Apex came back out more than a week later on Feb 24 and replaced a third part on the oven. So, as of February 24, we now have a "brand new" oven (for which we paid several thousands of dollars) that has already been repaired twice (three parts replaced) in less than a month after waiting more than 3 weeks beyond the delivery time promised, and at a cost of several hundred dollars more than we planned to spend. Not once has Kellum reached out to see if the oven now works. We were told they would extend the warranty on the oven that was installed for one year. But, several months later, we've never been able to get anything in writing regarding the extension of the warranty. We are now planning to replace our dishwasher and two refrigerators. Based on our experience, we will shop elsewhere. Needless to say, we are not happy with the service we received or the condition of the oven on which we spent several thousand dollars. We should have gone to Home Depot or Lowe's. Kellum's service was awful. We DON'T recommend Kellum to ANYONE! Dear Business Owner - if you're only planning to reply "Thank you for bringing your experience to our attention. We regret to hear that our service did not meet your expectations. At Ed Kellum & Son, we take pride in ensuring each of our customers' satisfaction. We continually strive to enhance our services and we hope to have another opportunity to serve you better in the future", please don't bother. That means nothing to me. On September 28, 2024, we purchased a KitchenAid double wall oven (Model KOED530PSS00; Serial # DD3307251) from Kellum & Sons, salesperson, Mark Pritchard. Since October of 2024, we have had consistent problems with this oven. The following is a timeline of the issues we have experienced: 1. October 17, 2024: oven installed 2. December 18, 2024: oven caught on fire while broiling. Guinco replaced both oven control panels (which had melted) and the light sensor. 3. October 14, 2025: oven would not turn on and showed an error code. Guinco replaced both control panels, the console/appliance manager, and the blower. 4. December 22, 2025: oven again would not turn on and showed an error code again for the blower and control panel. Guinco needed to order parts. 5. December 26, 2025: Guinco again replaced the lower oven control panel and appliance manager. 6. January 25, 2026: oven again would not turn on and showed the same error code. 7. January 27, 2026: called Kellum (one day later as they were closed on January 26th due to a city-wide ice storm) and conveyed to them we no longer want continued repairs and want the oven replaced. As of the date of this complaint, we still do not have a working oven. Kellum and Kitchen Aid are still determined to replace the blower. 8. February 9, 2026: received a call from Guinco that they have ordered yet another blower part and will replace it on February 18, 2026. We have made this clear to Kellum we no longer wish to have this oven repaired or have any parts replaced again. Their homepage on their website states, "Extraordinary Service, No Excuses." Kellum sold us this defective oven, is very aware of the number of times it has been repaired and understands our request. Kellum needs to do the right thing and reimburse us for selling us a lemon. We bought a Maytag washer and dryer, Wolf cooktop, and Bosch double ovens from Ed Kellum and Son's. We brought all the measurements and specifications to the salesman, Andrew Owen, to insure appliances would fit in the available spaces. Delivery times were not as arranged causing inconvenience as we spent all day waiting for a no show. Delivery service people were outstanding but washer and dryer were larger than expected and protrude out 2 inches farther than old set. Cooktop fit into space just fine but the knobs were a different color than expected and the alternate set did not fit on the posts built in on the cooktop. The double ovens were taller than the available space, so we are paying to have a contractor work on the cabinetry above the ovens to make them fit. The Maytag set has a WiFi set up to tell you when the clothes cycles are completed. The chime signal is inaudible so you must have your phone handy while doing laundry is you want to know when clothes are finished washing or drying. We are very unhappy about this feature and wouldn't have bought the set if our salesman had clued us in beforehand. We voiced our concerns to Andrew and he never bothered to reply. We went to management and they did return our calls and were "very sorry" for our troubles but did nothing to rectify the situation. We will never do business with this company again and neither should you. read more

As new residents of Dallas, my wife and I went to the store on April 12th with a list of ten ranges recommended by Consumer Reports. The Kellum salesman, Mark, said they didn't stock any of them but that he had a range that would be much better for us. He was silver-tongued, funny, and persuasive. He sold us a high-end brand we had never heard of, Bertazonni, but we trusted him and his stated long experience with Kellum. He had called what we believed to be their warehouse and he told us they had seven in stock. It was delivered and installed by an outside vendor for $200. When we began to use the range, we discovered it had no temperature gauge to indicate when the oven reached a precise temperature. We also discovered that the range had no timer to set the length of cooking. Everything we tried to bake burned. After a week of frustration we went to the store on April 19th and told Mark about these issues and that we wanted to return the range. He threw up his hands in a "Whoa" gesture and suggested that we may not be "educated enough" to use it properly. He then said the range was a "special order" and that he would have to check to see if it was returnable and he would get back to us in a couple of days. He did not say up front that it was a special order, although we noticed later that our receipt said "special order." A gotcha! Long story short, Mark finally agreed to give us a partial refund to return the range. We paid $3,895.92 for it, and he only agreed to refund $3,047.56, keeping $848.36 as a "restocking fee." Given the built-in problems with the range, this was ridiculous. A rip-off. Nineteen days after we told Mark we wanted to return the range for a refund, Kellum picked up the range on May 7th! It took until May 19th to get the partial refund--exactly a month after we said we wanted to return it. I went to the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint, and learned that Ed Kellum & Son is not BBB accredited. That's in line with our experience. I purchased an oven and warranty from Mark P at Ed Kellum in January 2019. The oven has not worked correctly since installation. I repeatedly expressed my frustrations to Mark to no avail. He does not respond to emails or return phone calls. If I happen to phone the store when he is there, then I get to speak to him. l purchased a replacement oven from Mark P in September 2023 when the warranty company finally agreed the oven was not repairable. Why? Because I expected he would be helpful with the process. Not so much. I emailed Mark as well as called him for assistance with the warranty company settlement and to ask where my new oven was. Purchased a refrigerator in August of 2021. Delivered in October 2021. Within the first month the refrigerator began making noises. I contacted my salesperson and they had service sent out. Service disregarded my concerns and blamed the noise on how I stacked the items in the freezer. Noise continued throughout the winter. In the spring it started getting worse. Contacted salesperson and they sent out service again. Nothing was resolved. Two months later I contacted salesperson again, by phone (no returned call) and email. I included a 5 minute video recording of the noise. Salesperson claimed they would contact service again. This time they didn't. I had to reach out to the manufacturer myself to get service out again. Kellum cannot be counted on to take responsibility for faulty products purchased through them. James Cassar was so amazing. We walked in on a Saturday morning to just look at the selection of Miele dishwashers they had available. They did not have more than 2 on the floor but they had many available on their website to review. I described the one I was looking for and how much we wanted to spend. Not looking to spend the top for a new dishwasher but wanted the midlevel one. James looked through what they had available for us to buy now vs having to wait. He knew the details about the dishwashers and why one was superior for what I was looking for. When the dishwasher arrived finally after 10 days of handwashing, I was overjoyed. I always wanted a Miele but it was never a possibility until now. The installer did a good job but it was not looking quite right (not in the dishwasher space flush with counter and the toe kick was installed too far back). We called James and it was fixed two days later. I appreciate the amazing customer service that James performed and told me he was the one to call if any issues in the future. You cannot get this type with an actual person to call if you have questions any longer. So thankful we came in and looked and got a such a wonderful sales person! read more

"Extraordinary Service, No Excuses Since 1948." So says their sign and so says their website but that's where it stops. Beware of shopping there for your high end appliances, we learned it the hard way. They "gave" us great service when we went in their Dallas store in April 2022 to pick out our appliances for our new built that hasn't started yet. But now, March 2023, we are at a point of scheduling an installation of appliances and came to find out that Mark ordered a wrong Wolf range (natural gas). His first reply was "it doesn't make sense because you are in the zip code that has natural gas!" Well, that zip code was not where we are building a house, and that is not the service address on file! He obviously got it wrong by looking at our billing address and not the service address. We knew from the beginning that we needed a propane gas and because it was requested verbally (when we were in store physically) there is no paper trail to prove what we asked for. Mark accused us that we were supposed to cross reference the model number from spec sheet with Wolf website to make sure it was the right one. Just remember they offer "Extraordinary service" No where on the spec sheet does it say what type of gas range it is therefore we never caught that mistake ourselves. And now we are made to look like fools, by a high end store that advertises "extraordinary service", we didn't know what we were shopping for! AND they are charging us $870 plus tax to fix this issue by having a conversion kit installed! (he agreed to knock off $400 off for us). That is not a solution to a mistake that wasn't done by us as a customer. Beware and don't shop there, they will make you pay for their mistakes and you don't get extraordinary service here. I researched Bosch 800 series dishwashers from several places and decided to try Ed Kellum since they said they had them in stock to actually see. Their website advertised the latest 800 series models so I assumed that is what I was looking at there. My salesperson Mark Pritchard did not give me any indication that the model I looked at there was a discontinued 800 series model and he charged me the same price as the latest model. I am sure he didn't tell me because I would have asked for a discounted price for a discontinued model. This is very unethical and I sent an email to him and the owner and never received a reply. I am keeping the dishwasher but disagree with paying full price now that I know they sold me a discontinued model without my knowledge. I have checked and no one else is even selling this model anymore. I want to deal with an ethical business with ethical salespeople who don't need to lie and cover up things to make a sale. We had a poor experience at the Ed Kullum & Son Appliance Store in Southlake in early May 2021. Attempting to complete our contract to purchase a Wolf Dual Fuel Range for $15K+, we couldn't understand our salesman because someone cranked up the audio in the other half of the store. Scott Rains was my salesman. He told me when trying to get me to buy all of this that if anything didn't work, I could send it back for a small restocking fee. I opened the box and realized that it was not going to work in our set up. I made a mistake in planning. So I called Ed Kellum and Scott Rains informed me that they would NOT take it back. Although I spent OVER $18,000 there, because the box was open, they wouldn't take it back. Scott Rains is the epitome of a slimy, used car salesmen, who says whatever he has to to get the deal done and then laughs all the way to the bank as he cashes his commission check. David Harrison went above and beyond my expectations when it came to helping me find a new Subzero to replace the existing one that came with my home. I did everything online or over the phone due to an illness, and he walked me through it step by step. He sent me images, pricing, measurements and all the information needed to make the process as easy as possible. Upon installation, Rubin and Thomas from Wolf Installation arrived on time and were very courteous and respectful of my home. They installed the new refrigerator without issue, explained to me the specifics of the unit and answered any questions I had without hesitation. My wife and I recently replaced all of the kitchen appliances in our new (to us) house with Subzero, Wolf, and Cove appliances and a Scotsman Nugget ice machine. Joe H, my salesperson, was really nice and easy to work with. If you are going to buy from Ed Kellum & Son, I highly recommend Joe H. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. According to Joe, I had to purchase professional installation to get the warranty for the Subzero/Wolf appliances--even though I had a professional general contractor who did all of the prep work. The installer provided, Elevated Installations, did a mediocre job and didn't even bother making sure things were working or installed properly and charged $1600+. 4 of the 6 appliances they installed had issues. They identified one issue (missing parts with the Cove dishwasher) but couldn't be bothered to communicate to the service company which parts were missing. They didn't identify the fact that the refrigerator door was scraping on an internal screw when opened. They didn't identify that the Microwave door didn't open properly. They jammed the ice maker in and broke the cabinet piece along the floor next to the ice maker kick plate and didn't say a word. My advice is to refuse to purchase installation from Elevated Installations. It's pretty clear that they don't care about the quality of their work or customer satisfaction. Subzero/Wolf has since resolved all but one issue. We are still waiting on a replacement part for my $15,000 refrigerator (that was scarred by the screw rubbing the stainless steel hinge cover due to sloppy assembly) 3 months later. I won't say my experience with Subzero/Wolf has been great but at least they are kind and try to help me resolve the issues with their appliances. read more

I have to rave about this place for a second. Just to set the background, we woke up on a Saturday morning (in the middle of covid-19 city shut down, nonetheless) to a fridge that was reading 47° instead of 37°. Hoping the door somehow didn't latch right, we closed it right and kept an eye on it. Sure enough, the temperature kept rising so at 3:30, faced with the possibility of an entire fridge full of spoiled food, 3 hungry males in my house and grocery stores that can't guarantee stocked shelves, I panic-called the store to see if there was any possible way I could buy a fridge over the phone and have it delivered same day. And y'all, THEY DID IT!!!!!!! My sales guy, Andrew, asked me what I was looking for, called their warehouse to see if there were any delivery crews still available, found the fridge I needed, got my invoice sent so I could settle, and had my fridge on the truck by 4:30 and delivered around 6:30. The person that helped me the most was actually in the Southlake. But I can't be sure because I have never met Andrew in person. But his customer service was impeccable, I assure you! I think there must've been a miscommunication with our salesperson in the North Dallas location (whom we seriously also loved very much--I'm sure it was our error), and we ended up with a Thermador freezer column with an external ice maker. We were putting a cabinet panel on the outside, so we had to have it exchanged. Andrew worked tirelessly to get this done. He e-mailed and called me and even texted me updates. He assured me that he would get it done--that he wanted to make me happy--and he totally did. I have had nothing but a great experience with this entire company through the buying, exchanging, and installing process. Boy have they dropped the ball. Went by store yesterday to buy a new 55 inch TV .. usually buy at Target but this one bigger and worried I could not carry. Anyway the splash all over everything "4 hour delivery" well that is for 200.00 bucks! So salesman all parted ways in a hurry and said "salesman A can help" he directed me to a 2200 TV and I said " lower". We found a 55 inch for 443.00 sony pretty good . I was confident about my measure months but we talked and I said I would go home to measure. He gave me his card and said "regular delivery is 125 and we can do it sometime this week. So now the TV is 568.00 before tax. I went home measured and was going to call back .. but got sort of mad.. they never asked me MY name and basically could care less if I bought a TV there. I bought a brand new Kitchen Aid cooktop and they installed. It had a problem at installation. Ed Kellum sent a repair person to assess what was wrong---said i need a replacement computer board. I told them i paid for a new cooktop and expected it to work properly immediately upon installation--they said they could repair it, not replace. When you spend $2,000 (cooktop, warranty and installation), you expect a NEW item that works from the start. Kellum is intransigent about this. So i get to pay $2000 for a device that has to be repaired before it is ever used the first time. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH THESE PEOPLE. Kellum had been my go-to vendor for all home major appliances in all my homes-----until now. They will never get another penny out of me UPDATE on 11/16/15 After writing this scathing review and sending a terse letter to the CEO of the holding company for Ed Kellum, the store manager, Mark, contacted me. To his credit, Mark apologized profusely for the problems I encountered and arranged for a new, properly working cooktop to be delivered and installed for me. I am pleased to state that I did get the new, properly working cooktop at the appointed time and, viola!, it works correctly. While I am very appreciate to Mark for getting a new, properly working cooktop, the difficulty I encountered has soured me on Ed Kellum & Son. It should not require multiple phone calls, letters, personal visits to the store and finally reaching the store manager to get what one pays for. The two store personnel (not delivery people) I encountered should have been empowered to make this situation right, and, especially, the last person I encountered when I visited (who described himself as the one in charge at that time). My dismay and reluctance to give Ed Kellum a good review and to be soured on Ed Kellum can be directly attributed to this incalcitrant employee. I thought when you buy an open box appliance and pay for it you get the open box you purchased. Maybe not at Ed Kellum. Not all open boxes are created equal. We arrived early so we would have our pick of the open box subzero. We picked it out, paid and waited for the Saturday delivery. On Saturday, first, they deliver the wrong size subzero refrigerator. Ninety minutes later they return with the right size subzero but not the one I purchased. This one was missing parts. Then they tell me the one I bought never existed and this is the one they had. It also took a day and a half to install. Is this the wat they operate? I felted duped and cheated, not what I expected, not what I am used to, will not be going back. Disappointed! read more

When they sent the installer back out he got it working without leaking, but when I sent photos of the damage to the drywall and cabinets my salesman, I never heard back. I have shopped at Ed Kellum for years. One of their great services is same or next day delivery. Very professional delivery and setup. Rich Grona has always been helpful even to the point of driving to my home to measure to make sure appliances would fit. Definitely knows his products. I just bought an ice maker a few weeks ago. He was able to send me all the information I needed to pick the perfect product to match my existing appliances and to save me a trip to the store; he had the new ice maker installed the next day. Having just moved to dallas, my new place ' s fridge died 2 months after my move. Kellum and sons helped me via phone when I supplied measurements for a new one. David found one in the color and specific requirements I wanted and had it ordered and delivered in less than a week. And it was the week before Christmas!
