We reached out several times and his responses were he's working on it and will reach out the following week. He never did. It's been 4 months and still no second key fob. The last time my mom and I reached out to him separately he ghosted us. HE'S A LIAR AND A SLEEZY SALESMAN. During the sale we mentioned the car payment was above our budget. We did make a deal on the monthly payment since it came with unlimited car washes and oil changes, however, these car wash tickets my elderly mother has to pick up to use and go to the actual car wash at a different location. Each time she has gone to pick up tickets they give her only ONE. She'll ask for more and they hand her just one more. She is clearly a senior citizen give her more tickets! It appears my review lines up pretty perfectly to the way others feel about Napleton Honda in St. Peters! We love the vehicle we purchased, just hate everything about the dealership! We inquired about the Costco Customer pricing program for a new vehicle. We were told only one particular salesman could discuss Costco pricing with us, so we scheduled an appointment time to meet and go over options. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we arrived, this salesman was trying to squeeze one final sale out of an old lady so we were told to take the car for a test drive for as long as we wanted.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After about 20 minutes we finished our test drive and were satisfied with the vehicle. We were ready to buy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The salesman was still with this woman for an additional hour and a half![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When it was finally time to talk shop we found out the Costco Pricing did not qualify for the vehicle we wanted. It only applied to the base model. [[HIGHLIGHT]]So then the stereo-typical back and forth negotiations began. This included several, "Lemme talk to my Manager" breaks. It was another 2 hours of that nonsense before we finally agreed on a price.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Then another 2 hours of selling us on extended warranties and financing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we finally left it was close to 9pm, the dealership had actually closed for the night. We had no dinner and we were exhausted both physically and mentally.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This was 2018 when we bought our new CR-V, still have the car and still love it, but unfortunately are still dealing with the dealership. Just last week my wife scheduled an emissions test at the dealership. She scheduled the appointment for 1pm, when she arrived they told her they hoped to have it done in 3 1/2 hours and should be ready around 4:30. [[HIGHLIGHT]]No one contacted us by 4:30 so we decided we would just pick it up the next day. At 5:55pm 5 minutes before close we still hadn't received a call that the emissions was even complete.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We called them and they told us the emissions machine went down and they hadn't even performed the test yet, no call, no voicemail. When my wife picked up the car the next day, they gave her a car wash voucher for an independent car wash in St. Peters. P.S. they have a car wash at the dealership. had my oil changed yesterday by their trained technicians. Service lite went on the day later saying I needed to service my car for a oil change. Had to go back for them to reset my system which their trained technician did not bother to do. That is the last thing they are supposed to do when performing a oil change. I think they actually read my review in being more communicative about updating customers of the process. I went in for a routine oil service - but of course 2 or 3 other services would need to be done in a couple thousand miles so of course I just had them do everything at once. None of my coupons were applicable, sigh. I will give huge props to Chris. Previous services I have spent more than five hours waiting around with no communication, but not with Chris. He walked back to let me know progress reports, texted too but I think it was a nice personal touch that he walked back too. He gave me a time frame after printing off paperwork of what services were going to be done. He said 4 services should be done in 2.5 hours and with that alone I was like... no. I'm usually waiting around for 5+ so we'll see. And I expressed this to him too, but he reassured me that today would be different... and it was. It actually took only 2 hours and despite it being 1 degree outside, they even cleaned off my windshield which was much appreciated since I have a civic so just about every car that drives in front of me is taller and that excess snow / melted water goes ALL over my car. Chris had such a sense of urgency, walked me to pay but also left so he could pull my car around front so I wouldn't have to wait any longer than I needed to, but not in a rushed way. He also walked me to my car (no one has ever done that here)! This was probably the best experience I've ever had here and will always request chris as my service advisor because there's just no one like him. 20/10 highly recommend! read more

After my last review the General Manager Tom Dempsey called me about the issues that I had. Tom did agree to our original offer and I set up an appointment for Friday morning at 9 AM with Mark Mitchell per Tom. When I came in, I dealt with a gentleman named Kevin Bakeer. he was very nice outgoing built a report with me and was very knowledgeable. However, no one knew about my appointment with Mark Mitchell and no one knew anything about my conversation with Tom Dempsey. So what should've been about 30 minutes to give the keys, clean out my car, and write a check up ended up taking over an hour. I had to explain the conversation I had with Tom and Mark. Then turns out Tom is on site. Tom originally told me that I would only deal with Mark so it was a lot of miscommunication and poor communication. I had to tell them several times I could not stay long as the snow was coming, Daycare and School is called out so I had my children with me. I also am breastfeeding and needed to pump. Plus my baby was sitting in the car seat for so long I'm sure it's fine but as a mom I feel guilty. I changed to a two star rating versus a one star because they did honor the original deal that we had. However, the communication is still awful. The process took incredibly long. I felt pressured by Tom to put it deposit down, and I didn't have My Husband with me due to the weather. I did not feel comfortable doing that without My Husband present. SUMMARY - [[HIGHLIGHT]]Sales experience OK.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service Experience HORRIBLE. Bumper damaged 3x while being serviced (damaged new bumper installing trailer hitch, damaged bumper fixing the damaged bumper, damaged bumper fixing the damage caused by fixing the original damage). [[HIGHLIGHT]]I purchased a new 2024 Honda Odyssey on 12 June 2024 from Ed Napleton Honda. The sales experience was average/typical, except for the fact that I did not receive the title paperwork for over a month and incurred a late fee at the DMV when submitting my registration[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I took the receipt to dealer on 7/27/2024 and am supposedly going to get a $25 refund check. HOWEVER -- the nightmare started when I had the Napleton Honda Service Department install a trailer hitch on my new 2024 Odyssey. I set up the appointment right after purchasing the vehicle, and they were able to get me in the following week, 19 June 2024. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service department was not able to give me a loaner for the few days they would need the car because they were 'out of loaners'[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. OK - I borrowed a car from a family member. Unfortunately, the service department damaged the bumper when installing the trailer hitch (which I was told does happen sometimes). So, now they had to keep the Odyssey for several more days and take it to a 3rd party auto body shop to repair my brand new bumper. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service department still did not have a loaner vehicle available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was able to pick up my new Odyssey a week later, but then I noticed that the black garnish (trim piece on the top of the bumper) was now damage, a chemical overspray of some sort - which was not acceptable as this was a BRAND NEW car. The service department placed that piece on order and to 'compensate' me for the inconvenience wrote a 'WE OWE' for a $100 service credit and a free tank of gas. Once home, I noticed that several of the bolts that secure the bumper to the rear wheel wells were missing. Upon informing the service department that they would ALSO need to fix this, they placed blame on the 3rd party auto body shop. I asked why they did not inspect the auto body shop's work before releasing the vehicle to me, their customer. The service advisor told me they do not check the auto body shop's work. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was not kept informed on the status of the bumper garnish's arrival at the dealership. I only learned that it was received when I called to check over two weeks later[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I then schedule the follow-up service for 27 July 2024 so the service department could install the replacement bumper garnish and missing bolts. Upon completion of this service I was informed the service department backed my NEW vehicle into another vehicle being serviced right after exiting the car wash. I was SPEACHLESS! There are now scratches on my rear bumper, and the crack that was originally 'fixed' is now apparent again and a sensor behind the bumper is being pushed out against the bumper. I don't know whether to LAUGH or CRY! I am BEYOND frustrated with the incompetence of the Ed Napleton Honda Service Department. As it is 28 July 2024 today as I write this I must wait until Monday when the Service Manager and General Manager are informed. (I did learn that the vehicle my van was backed into also sustained damage). I was told by the service advisor that he will see if he can get me another free tank of gas for this mistake. Yea, a $50 tank of gas is NOT going to be a sufficient compensation. Nothing less than a BRAND NEW bumper for my BRAND NEW Honda Odyssey will be acceptable. I hope the dealer/service department will not proposed a patch and kludge of 'fixes' and will make this right by installing a new bumper. Update 01/10/2024 Mr. Tom Dempsey GM of EdNapleton contacted me, he helped us make things right, I appreciate his willingness to hear our concerns. He paid the difference of the negotiation and I felt validated for voicing my opinion. Thank you, Tom. I love the car, I leased a Honda Fit 2020 for three years, and my husband and I decided to purchase the car this past July. In the process, however, we were misled by the sales person, Sadiq. During our negotiation he promised us at least $4500 for the car we were trading in. We explicitly told him that we would not accept the offer unless they can match the number. He came back after negotiating the price, and exclaimed, "I got it!!" --- as if he successfully negotiated for the price requested. Later, as we were going over the paper work and financing options with the Finance Manager (as other reviews have said, he is a grumpy, unfriendly old man) he revealed to us that the car was accepted for $500 less than the negotiated amount and the monthly car payment will also be higher than what Sadiq promised us. We learned from this greatly disappointing experience, and decided to never go to Ed Napleton to purchase a car. I highly recommend avoiding this car dealership. read more

Needed a tire and set up appointment at Dobbs in St. Charles. The manager offered free alignment check. Dobbs replaced the tire and told me I needed alignment. Declined alignment since I was scheduled for an oil change later in the week at Napleton Honda. Took my truck to Napleton Honda for oil change a week later and told them about the new tire I bought from Dobbs and that Dobbs said I needed an alignment. Napleton did my oil change and a couple of recalls and told me alignment was fine. Kudos to Napleton for being honest enough not to sell me something I didn't need. Dobbs should be investigated for deceptive business practices by "selling" services not needed. I wonder how many alignments Dobbs sells to unsuspecting customers that aren't needed... read more

Call me Ishmael. I figured starting with the first line of Moby Dick was appropriate because this review is going to be long. I went to Ed Napleton Honda for the first time to look at a used car that had just popped up on their website. The first red flag was the sales manager who approached my son and I. Overly tanned with, no joke, a pinky ring. He had a young sales associate help us. She was new to the business and pleasant. We sat with her for an hour while they tried to find the car and its keys (on a Tuesday morning so it wasn't busy). We test drove the car (2009 Honda Civic) and liked it. We went back into the dealership and sat for another 30 minutes while the new sales associate talked to a sales manager about price. When they finally came over to us the sales manager showed me a breakdown of the price. The car was listed on their website as $8435. They said it would cost $13,500!!! I was shocked! The sales manager condescendingly "explained" that the price on the website isn't the sale price and claimed there is an asterisk on the site saying that it isnt the guaranteed price (there is no asterisk). The price would be $1000 higher because I had said i would write a check instead of financing the car. I told them that was insane! They also were insisting that we pay over $2000 for the "Napleton Experience", which is basically 2 years of oil changes and a couple tire rotations. Things that cost way less than 2 grand! There was also an extended warranty for an 11 year old car. Bananas! As we were walking out they asked if we would buy the car for the $8435 plus the $200 dock fee. I said we were going to look elsewhere. After searching more we decided the next day to see if we could get the car at the internet list price. We sat for a half hour as they tried to find the keys. We were told twice that the car was still available. A guy in a suit came to talk to us and said we should drive it again while he put together a price. I showed him his own website and said this is the price and that I wouldn't be buying any of their add ons. The little band of thieves walked away. Five minutes later we were told the car had been sold after all. I was already 98% certain that they lied about the car being sold as we walked out. This was confirmed when they called the 3rd phone number I had given them (they insisted on 3) at 9 pm that night to ask if we had any questions about the car! A day later it is still on their website for sale. Clearly they didnt want to sell to someone who couldn't be pressured into paying for their over $5000 of bullshit. I visited 10 car dealerships in 3 days after that. When I mentioned the crazy price change to some of the salespeople they all said "you must have gone to Napleton." BEWARE OF NAPELTON HONDA! Our car was stolen which is frustrating enough. We went to Napleton to look at a few Honda Pilots we had researched on-line. There is no transparency, and I do not trust them. I would not recommend this shady place of business to anyone. Buyers' beware! VETERAN'S DISCOUNT - My husband who served in Vietnam asked the salesperson, Camron, while we were driving it if Napleton gives a Veteran's discount like some of the other dealerships do. He said yes, they give a $500. However, when we went inside. we were told the car was already priced good, so no veteran's discount. This is a slap in the face to my husband and all our US veterans. INCONSIDERATE OF TIME - On our initial visit, they made us wait and wait to provide numbers to us. This was a cut and dry deal. We were paying cash; we made it clear we did not want any add-ons. We just wanted to know what the price was. We had not eaten dinner and it was late. I feel like they just wanted to wear us down (which they succeeded). Same thing when we picked up the car. Nothing was ready (even though it had been 4 days from when we put a deposit down). We just wanted to sign the papers, pay the money and leave. We were told it was being "detailed." We said we would leave and get a sandwich, but was told it will be ready in five minutes. It wasn't. It took over two hours total. A storm was blowing in, and I didn't take the time to thoroughly inspect the car. That was my mistake. FUDGING NUMBERS - When we paid for the car, Dan the finance guy, said he was going to give us Xzilon for free even though we didn't want any add-ons (that should have been our first clue something was shady). The numbers were finagled to make it look like we purchased Xzilon, but we didn't. They also charged us $249 for wheel locks even though they come equipped with the car we purchased. This "add-on" was not included anywhere in the paperwork that was provided. When I questioned this, I was told Dan was just being kind. LOL CARGO TRAY - When we got home (an hour drive), we noticed the cargo tray was not in the back which makes for an uneven cargo storage area. I texted, sent a picture and called and was told they couldn't find it and suggested we buy one on Amazon. After a few more days of nagging, the salesperson said he would get one from another car for us. TITLE- We asked for the title when we paid for the car. We were told by the finance person, Dan, that it would be provided when our check cleared. We called and texted several times and were given the run around about why they couldn't give us the title and were told we would get it 30 days after the purchase. We confirmed with our local license and title company they were "blowing smoke up you know where." Napleton either didn't have the title, or they just were inefficient. After we threatened to stop payment on the check, someone called me and said they would get the title to us. OVERPAYMENT - They asked us to put $2,000 down on the car to hold it, but it was not deducted from the price. I asked for the money back that same day. Four days later someone finally called and then another 3 days before we received it. I am confident if I didn't say anything, they would still have my $2,000. PAPERWORK -When we purchased the car, I asked for the paperwork that we signed that and have asked for it numerous times. It is now over a week later and I still don't have it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service rep (Aaron) went above and beyond helping me with repair[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Jan 2024 had my 2021 Honda Pilot transmission control module go out and replaced for approx 1500$. Same thing apparently happened again 10 months and 18000 miles later. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was contacted by text and phone call several times to tell me of the progress.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It turns out it was the sub harness that shorted out the TCM. Technically it was out of warranty because their repair has 12 month and or 12000 mile warranty. He spoke with management and comped labor. Would give 0 stars if it were an option! Horrible experience at Ed Napelton Honda. Negotiation process was sneaky with add on and "market adjustment" - and while legal, not a great experience. Especially considering the neighboring Honda dealer does not even mention Market Adjustment -- with a more robust inventory of same model! But the real issue, and one I will be pursuing further with the appropriate parties, is the financing piece. The Finance Manager wasTHE MOST unprofessional employee I have ever encountered. Demeanor was downright rude. But the issue at hand is the deceptive lending practice. No disclosure of interest rate until the LAST paper to sign. This rate was with a non Honda bank and 2.5 times the Honda rate of 2.9% despite my stellar credit score. They also did not disclose that full loan amount was required to avoid said "market adjustment". He then blatantly lied and said the interest impact of the high rate was "only a couple hundred dollars". I actually understand simple interest and calculated in the room that indeed the impact is $1400. Totally misleading! I wonder how many women listened to his reassurance and just signed??? They next day they were kind enough to offer me the Honda Rate which all the other dealers were offering without these horrific provisions. Seriously? We walked away of course and found a better equipped model for a lower price AND lower interest rate down the street. The dealership has a great selection of vehicles and was able to find the car I wanted with just slightly different interior colors , then during the sales process while running numbers , I believe the numbers get highly over exaggerated and when you work to lower the price you better pay attention to the lower price. In my situation I didn't and the price I paid ended up being $1460 above the price I agreed to on the sale floor , with this my payment ended up being almost $45 dollars more than it needed to be as well as the calculator their finance system uses to calculate the rate is off , I used multiple Excel functions and multiple Websites that calculate payment based on percentage and the 3.9% calculate at 3.9801% , After seeing this in the paperwork on the return to the dealership finance wouldn't look at or do anything to correct the sale saying paperwork is already signed. The salesman was great. The sales manager ruined the whole experience for us. He insisted that we had to buy overpriced packages for the car that we didn't want. He said that I didn't want to change my own oil and instead needed to pay $200 per oil change for them to do it. We ended up with LoJack on the car which was also overpriced and I did not want. Before handing the car over to us, the service department did final detailing which apparently includes over-inflating the tires by 10 psi. I wasn't happy when I got my new car home and the tire pressure light went on. I would love to have a car buying experience where I just get the bottom line price and not all this manipulation to try to jack up the price. read more

This dealership practices hard selling tactics. As a young married couple they were doing everything they could to take advantage of us and intimidate us into a sale only benefiting the dealership. We personally experienced the worst service from one of the sales director Alex. He was rude, he was conniving and he is still living in a "man's world." Although my husband was signing the paperwork, I was equally contributing to this purchase financially and it was a joint decision. Alex felt it was appropriate to only discuss deals with my husband and ignore my concerns and questions or talk down to me. Alex is ignorant living in a misogyny world. He also said he was "going to work for our business" by working for our business he offered his first deal of 10k over msrp!!!! Chaz working in finances was not much better. First, he made us wait about two hours to even speak to him. Then, when we spoke to him we told him that we were uninterested in gap insurance or any other extended warranty. He said he had to legally discuss the warranties and would make it quick. It was not quick and we had to tell him about 5 times that we were not interested but he was still trying to manipulate and coerce us. Also he did not discuss any of the contracts which is more legally important to discuss than warranties. Unfortunately for our sales person Brian who was nice and respectful, Chaz and Alex gave us the stereotypical dread of going to a car dealership. We would not recommend this place because of our experience. Only buy a car here if you enjoy haggling, speaking to multiple personal, dealing with ignorance, and want to wait over 4 hours. There was a sign in the waiting area looking for crv trade-ins, which I had. There are plenty of other Honda dealers in the area - maybe one of them would like my business. I also had my vehicle serviced. They changed my radio and display settings and turned my headlights from auto to off. As I'm driving down the interstate AT NIGHT, I realize I have no lights on. This, after I've been driving in rainy overcast conditions earlier on I70. They put my safety and other drivers at risk by turning off my lights on a poor visibility day when lights were needed and not bothering to mention it. I would not trust what the price online says. It's a selling tactic. They have a KBB price and then their price; however, if you actually look it up on KBB for a dealer price, it's up charged at least $1,000. The car I wanted on their website said the KBB price was 17k and they were going to charge 14.9k for it. When I was arguing about the admin fee, my fiancé brought up the KBB value and it was between 13k and 15k. There's this admin fee they charge and when I questioned it, Jordan Mosley said it was a law. I asked for proof. They showed me a paper (that he himself had not read or was knowledgeable about) which states that dealerships can charge UP TO $500 and 10% will go to upgrading their infrastructure, but this fee is NOT mandatory for the consumer to pay. Where does the other 90% go? In their pocket. So you're not paying for just the car and taxes. You're also paying for the entire dealership as if they don't make enough already. The "second in command" came to talk to me and said they charge everyone this fee. I said, "you can charge up to $500 so you charge the absolute maximum" and he responded with, "of course" because they're money hungry grabbers. They also stuck me in the corner away from everyone because I was discussing with another woman who said she was going to another dealership. She didn't like this dealership and we were talking sh*t about it. I asked if I could file registration and plate transfer myself, second in command said no. But they were ALSO charging me extra on that. I asked for the proof that it was $350 for JUST registration. He never came back with proof, but Jordan came back with an updated price where taxes and those fees were all gone and he said I could go to the DMV myself to pay all of that. After I was just told I couldn't do it myself. My fiancé asked if I wanted to walk around the building and clear my head. I said yes and Jordan Mosley said NO I couldn't because my time was up. I had to sign the paper RIGHT THEN. They're all disgusting and you should never trust what a salesman says unless you don't care about how much money you're throwing down the drain for a vehicle. Typical "deal oriented" car stealership, complete with many follow up calls after you've repeatedly told them you have already closed a better deal elsewhere. Watch out for "required" add-ons that are not included in the listed price of the car (let alone any price you might negotiate.) Things like fabric protection (extra $800) or anti-theft/lo-jack ($500, but "maybe we could remove that".) Then, like all dealers, they'll tack on their "doc fee". They wanted $499 for that ... which runs about $200 more than most other local dealerships (don't fall for the "Missouri mandates this amount" line - go ahead and read the actual law yourself and you'll realize this line is a lie.) To be fair, they did seem hungry enough to wheel and deal, so you might be able to work something out. We just ended up getting too bad a vibe to push forward with trying to haggle with professional hagglers over a used car. Definitely make sure to watch all parts of any potential deal to make sure of what extras are being slipped in. We would have been going over all paperwork with a fine-toothed comb if we had gotten to the F&I level ... things just felt off. read more

Purchased a car on 9/23/2023. Kevin tried to sell me Luxe care & oil change/tire rotation(s). I politely declined & Kevin responded, stating I may not be able to get as good of an APR. I again told him no, he pushed back stating I HAD to purchase at least 1 pkg. I reluctantly agreed to ONLY the oil change/tire rotations, he wrote down "no Luxe care". I got home & reviewed my paperwork & saw that I was charged for not only the tire rotation/oil changes, but also tire and wheel care (which was never mentioned at all). I then completed paperwork with the Dir of Finance. He tried to sell me the extended warranty, I again politely declined & was told the same thing re: APR. I asked him what the difference in price was (he quickly did some calculations) & told me only a couple dollars a month (it's actually around $50/mth, after having reviewed my paperwork. My credit union approved me at 8.49%, I was told by Ed they approved me at 12%. I went over everything w/finance at my credit union 3 different times, with 3 different associates. I was told that AT MOST, depending on the loan terms, my APR would have been 8.99%, that the dealership just needed to call and get a dealer code & I was lied to. They confirmed that my APR was never dependent on me purchasing any add ons. I called about an additional key fob, was told it may be at the location the car was brought over from. I spoke with the receptionist & she wouldn't even put me on hold to check. I was simply told "it probably didn't come with one" & it was my responsibility. I called 3 wks after the purchase was final to check on the title & was told that it typically takes 3 wks to get the papers, but they were shorthanded due to someone being on maternity leave. They said they would check into it & call me back, never did. I allowed the dealership an additional 5 wks to finalize the paperwork. I called the week of 11/13 and spoke with someone & stated my plate was due to expire the next week. Their resolution to me was to pay any tickets I may receive from driving illegally, along with dmv fees/penalties. I was told they would check into it and return my call, never did. I called again on 11/16 and asked to speak to a mgr and was put back in to the queue 4x before would finally speak to me. I was told to come to the dealership on 11/17 & promised that my title would be in hand as well as a check for taxes (included any penalties/fees charged by the DMV). I came to the dealership & spoke with Thad, I told him I researched & they have 1 mth month to provide title, he said it was 60 days. The DMV confirmed it's 1 mth. Thad attempted to convince me into believing that I misunderstood everything regarding the APR/add-ons. He expressed the tire/wheel and luxe care must have been some kind of pkg. I am far from stupid and it was stated to me numerous times by 2 different associates, one being the Dir of Finance (per the title on his desk). Thad offered/promised me I would receive a call back from the GM. Although I was not happy at the time, I portrayed as everything being ok awaiting his call to discuss it, GM never called. Went to the DMV, check in hand (no penalties were included) I realized I did not have the title, only the app for the title. I called when I arrived home & spoke with someone in the title dept. She told me there was an issue with the lien release & the ppwk should never have been given to me, however promised me that I would have it in my hand the next day along w/check made out to me for the DMV fees. Said she would call when it was ready, never did. I recently drove it out of town to Houston & before arriving the low oil sensor came on. After checking my oil it was extremely low, which is highly alarming with barely over 20,000 miles & a less than 3yr old $42k car (as noted on the PO)! It has now been 2 additional weeks & yet to hear back from anyone. This is the worst experience I have ever dealt with as a consumer in my life. The stress it has caused me is egregious. read more
