Alex and Dakota were so awesome. This was the best part of our trip to the island. This snorkeling trip was so cool we saw so many turtles and we're already planning our next trip back. This was seriously the best trip. They were very knowledgeable of the islands and all the fish. Definitely recommend!!!

Angela is an angel! Her energy started things off in an amazing way! Captain Scott was also great! Their humor, knowledge and patience was fantastic! I highly recommend! We learned so much about Maui, got to see and swim with turtles, had excellent history of Maui, great humor and was the best event on the island! We even saw about 8 whales!! What a special event! Thank you Angela and Captain Scott!!!

Super last minute morning of reservation. Reservation was as easy as you would want. The deck hand and captain were very professional and personable. Unfortunately we had rough waters and they tried to make it better by changing spots. Got to snorkel around Molokini saw some dolphins and did a little bit of snorkeling back at Maui. We did have passengers get sick they handles the situations very well. Highly recommend.

We had an amazing whale watching tour with Charlie and Dakota! We had +10 sightings including two near the boat. We also got a quick tour around Molokini. They were very nice guys, super helpful and friendly.

LOVE this tour! We had Captain Alex and he was amazing. Great eye for seeing whales, took us to cool spots and gave us plenty of time based on what we wanted to do. Could not recommend this more!

Amazing trip! We are repeat customers from 2024! Charlie and Angela made an unbelievable experience. We would yet again come back! This is not your regular tour - it's adventurous but you go where no other tour goes! 5 Book you won't be disappointed!!

Is the gear provided? And if yes, is it all clean before each use?

On my trip gear was provided and the captain assured me it was cleaned before it was handed out.

This 3 hour tour of Molokini and turtle bay was just enough time to see colorful fish, corral, eels and turtles.

First off, when booking, I was deciding between this company and another larger boat to snorkel company. I went with this one because of the reviews. They had a ton of 5 star reviews - aka read the reviews, there is a reason why this one has a crap ton of 5 star reviews. I was NOT disappointed at all. We got there, checked in and Joe our guide was so knowledgeable and went over safety. He was extremely clear on instructions and was so nice. We got all our stuff and headed out. Our group had 11 people (which included our family of 4 with a 7 year old that had a hard time keeping the snorkel in his mouth). Joe was extremely patient and kept helping us throughout our experience to get him situated with his gear. During our snorkel one of the members did not listen to instruction and caused a panic moment. Joe handled it very professionally and with the utmost care. He took the safety of the client into priority and also made sure the other clients had a premier experience. He was able to navigate a hard situation and I appauld him for his ability to handle it. While I am not going to go into details about specifics, I can say Joe went above and beyond for us. We didnt expect anything from the situation because we missed 10-15 mins of our tour (the guest who didn't listen to safety and cost us to lose tour time) BUT we got a text from Joe later checking in and making sure we were happy with everything. We couldn't believe it. This small company actually cared enough to check in personally with us later to ensure we were happy and satisfied. They reached out to us and really, truly cared we were taken care of. 100000% customer service. We knew the situation was out of the companies control and was due to a crappy client, but they still went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. No company EVER does this level of customer service. Hats off to Joe and Zephyr. This level of personalized and customer service is not seen anymore. You will NOT regret booking with them.

From the moment we stepped on the raft, the crew made safety and comfort a top priority--clear instructions, secure seating, and constant check-ins that made everyone feel confident and cared for. The early morning conditions were perfect we watched the full moon set and saw an amazing sunrise. There was calm water, cool air, fewer boats, and incredible whale activity. We saw multiple whales breaching, tail slapping and pectoral fin slapping all while feeling completely safe and well supported. The captain expertly adjusted speed and positioning to match the ocean conditions, which made a huge difference. This tour strikes the perfect balance between excitement and comfort. If you're in your wondering if a raft tour is too intense--don't hesitate. Redline Rafting delivers a thrilling experience without ever feeling rough or unsafe. Truly unforgettable and highly, highly recommend! Date of experience: February 2026

We arrived at the center early and there is pay via app parking in the public lot and checked in for the morning brief before we boarded our boat, which was the Kai Ko, a sailing catamaran. Afterwards, the whole group walked down to the docks for boarding. The Kai Ko is a lot bigger than I expected, which was able to accommodate up to 130 people with seating for all on 3 decks. We sat at a bench with a table up forward, but you can sit on the covered upper deck under the sail boom behind the pilot house or on the lower deck with the snack bar. We had the best view forward, but it is exposed to the sun & sea spray. A couple of families sat in the cargo netting right above the waves. The Kai Ko does triple duty for whale watch excursions, as well as dinner cruises and snorkeling, so is equipped for all three trips. For whale watching, they only use the engine and do not raise the sails, which they do use for more relaxed dinner cruises. We motored out of the marina and out into Maalaea Bay and encountered a mother and baby Humpback whales almost immediately. Later we encountered another mother and calf that was also accompanied by an escort whale, which is rare. The mother showed her tail flukes on her last deep dive, which is used to identify the whale by their unique tail markings. You learn a lot of whale facts from the onboard guides. Later, one of the crew lowered a hydrophone in the water to record & broadcast Humpback whale songs over the ship's speakers, which was pretty cool. There were other whales that did full body breaches out of the water, but we were really far away. The whole whale watch cruise is 2 hours and returns you back to the docks exactly on the hour. It was an exciting excursion and we got back in time for lunch.

On our vacation to Maui last week, we took trips out to the sea with Sea Maui twice. Our first trip…read moreout was an adults-only family excursion while the kids hung out with their grandma and auntie. The catamaran was pretty sweet, with some really comfy bean bags overlooking the edge out to the ocean. While we did occasionally get splashed in this area, it was worth the unobstructed view of the sunset and the breeze in my hair. The crew was especially sweet and treated all of us like absolute royalty. A note to those who are prone to motion sickness: do not try to be brave and only wear sea bands thinking you'll be okay. Take your Dramamine an hour before you board the catamaran. While the first half of our dinner cruise was fine with my motion sickness, the second half of the trip left me feeling really queasy around dinner service time. This made me very sad. This was no fault of the crew, and 100% my fault for thinking I could tough it out. If you are ill-prepared, the crew has ginger ale, club soda and ginger chews to help. Speaking of dinner, the few bites I was able to eat on our first trip were fantastic: a full dinner buffet prepared by Cafe Jai. The salmon was perfectly tender, as was the short rib. The caesar salad was just the right amount of tangy (and the extra dressing was really great on the salmon as well.) I'm not sure what kind of sauce was on the crispy seasoned potatoes but they were absolutely delightful. And of course, the crown on top of a delicious meal was the mini brownie cup we were served for dessert before we wrapped up the trip. Our second trip (where I was prepared with some Dramamine) was a memorial for our grandparents, where we released their cremains at sea with eco-urns. I must say that the crew handled everything wonderfully. We had the full bar, another beautiful buffet spread including some delicious crispy chicken, a pesto pasta salad, pulled beef sliders, and rolls. After we said our emotional goodbyes, we were given rose petals to release into the ocean. We even received certificates after the trip that gave us the coordinates of where my grandparents cremains were released. I seriously cannot thank Sea Maui enough for giving my family a truly memorable experience on our trip to Maui. They made our trip so special. A million thanks for the kindness!

The Irish gentleman who pre-briefed us before leaving for the tour had a great sense of humor and set the tone for our excursion. Once aboard, the Captain and his crew were polite, cordial, fun loving and efficient. The food was great and the crew busied theirselves insuring everyone was comfortable, had drinks and the proper snorkeling gear. We saw many, many whales and at least 12 displays of whales big and small leaping out of the water. The hour long snorkeling provided the passengers with a myriad of tropical fish and sea turtles. We even had one try to climb the ladder into the boat. The fees for the excursion were fair and we definitely got our moneys worth for all we saw and participated in. I highly recommend The Sea Maui if you are looking for a great experience for you and your family or tour group.
