Came for the snorkeling. Stayed for Captain Kanoe's comedy show. Blue Water Rafting was easily one of the highlights of our Maui trip! We spent about 5 1/2 hours out on the water heading to Molokini, turtle town, and the lava caves. The entire experience was absolutely incredible. The snorkeling spots were **sublime**, the scenery was unreal, and the crew was amazing. They were incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole trip so much fun. But honestly... Captain Kanoe deserves his own five stars. His jokes were unparalleled, and he had us laughing the entire time. Even when I got a little too personally acquainted with the backside of Molokini , Captain Kanoe was ready with ginger chews, jokes, and enough encouragement to make everything okay again. And then there were the cookies. Thankfully, those were handed out AFTER I finished getting sick. All jokes aside, this was an absolutely beautiful, fun, informative, and unforgettable experience. The crew was fantastic, the snorkeling was incredible, and the whole trip had such a great energy. Would 100% recommend Blue Water Rafting to anyone visiting Maui. Just bring your swimsuit, sunscreen, and maybe a strong stomach. Captain Kanoe will handle the rest. read more

We recently went on a snorkel tour through BWR and the experience was o.k. A couple of things they need to improve. First, they need a simple sign with company name/logo for when people arrive in the parking lot. Many other snorkel firms are there and it would be helpful for the tour operator to hold a sign to direct people arriving. Also, some reason the company website defaults to Turkish language. We had to go through Viator to book the tour because the website is in Turkish and we couldn't book direct. Lastly, what is up with the turkey sandwich in the morning ? The tour meets at 6:30 am and this not lunch time. Nobody ate the turkey sandwich so we all felt ripped off. Simple to have breakfast food and snacks. Please drop the morning turkey sandwich and get breakfast food. read more

We had a great time on the 5.5 hour tour with Mikey! He was very personable, and knowledgeable about the island. The sea caves are super cool to see, and I believe this is only company that goes out to those areas. Snorkeling was great! We saw tons of cool fish at the Molokini Crater, if you have a go pro definitely bring it. We didn't see any turtles at the usual location, so he took us to another spot and we saw quite a few! Lunch was great, my husband really loved the croissant sandwiches & homemade cookies. Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Maui! read more

Super last minute morning of reservation. Reservation was as easy as you would want. The deck hand and captain were very professional and personable. Unfortunately we had rough waters and they tried to make it better by changing spots. Got to snorkel around Molokini saw some dolphins and did a little bit of snorkeling back at Maui. I have been on multiple trips with Bluewater rafting, including snorkel tours, and whale watching tours. I couldn't come up with a negative thing to say even if I tried. Every captain has been amazing. My most recent trip with Laurel and Angela was incredible. We stopped at three different snorkeling locations. We were one of the first boats out to Molokini crater. I wish I could leave 0 stars. We booked through our hotel and had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. Concierge did not tell us any details when we paid for 3 hour snorkeling with Blue Water Rafting. Last year we went snorkeling with a different company (sea maui iii) and it was awesome!!! We expected it would be the same since it was the same price. We didn't know we were signing up to be on a SMALL rafting boat with 20 something people NO RESTROOM, and ZERO room to get up and move around! My boyfriend and I talk to the boat staff and asked for a refund because we already knew we could not handle those conditions. Staff was very understanding of our concerns but we were told they couldn't refund we would have to go through our hotel who we booked with. We get to the hotel and they tell us the company would have to refund us and they have our number so they will contact us in the next two days. UNACCEPTABLE. What so they can play the long game and wait til we check out of our hotel just to tell us we spent $369 & will not get our money back? I don't think so. We spoke to supervisors and they were able to credit us through hotel. 2 days later after we check out, we get a call. Blue water rafting owner called to tell us we won't get our refund because they spent money on catering. Catering was a turkey sandwich. WHATTTTTT. We expressed our concerns and that's all you have to say. What a disgrace. Before you book with them, just look up what you're getting yourself into. Could not recommend Sea Maui III more!!! They even have a photographer on board to take pics of you snorkeling and open bar. Same cost, way better treatment. And bigger boat!!!! read more

Absolutely gorgeous trip to Molokini! Angela and our captain were so much fun and they had all the gear ready for an amazing snorkel tour. I appreciated that this was also a tour with guides respectful of the environment and the wildlife. It was literally like swimming in an aquarium!!! We had the best time and learned a lot about Maui's history and why whales come to the sunken area between Maui Molokai and lanai. Definitely recommend! Also if you've ever done a catamaran and gotten sick, try the tube boats they have at blue water rafting instead. They are super smooth and were an incredibly enjoyable ride. We wanted to go whale watching while in Maui and decided to go with Blue Water Rafting because being in the inflatable boat made more sense to me and their reviews were very positive. Right off the bat, Captain Scott and Kanoe were very personable and knowledgeable, which added to the adventure. As we headed out to the deeper waters, they told us what to expect, what the different movements of the whales meant and entertained us with their banter. As luck would have it, we came across a pod of whales who were very active and willing to put on a show for us. At one point, they even swam under our boat, much to our amazement. I went to Molokini Crater with Blue Water Rafting, and I loved my experience! Our captain was Mikey and our snorkeling guide was Angela and they were such a delight to raft with. The ride to the crater was very smooth and they were both very friendly. Mikey made sure to explain everything to us so that there would be no confusion or incidents. And they were both kind enough to surprise us with a dolphin pod visit! On our way back, Mikey stopped our raft and surprised us with the presence of a superpod (a very large pod of dolphins)! Getting to watch dolphins are not always guaranteed, but I'm glad that Mikey and Angela took a chance for us to have the opportunity to see them. First of all I want to recognize the great skipper and crew (Mikey & Angela), and how much they made this trip so much fun and worth every penny! Not only did we see all the lava flows on the very southern edge of Maui, we got to see the caves, arches and snorkel a great reef area before heading to Molokini. We were treated to mild waves and got to snorkel the back side! It's so deep and dark blue waters there with so many cool fish to be seen, plus we saw a small reef shark. the crater itself is full of beautiful sea life- we saw an eel and lots of puffer, rainbow, parrot, angel and various reef . The most amazing part of the trip was seeing 4 humpback whales that were surfacing, breaching and doing the beautiful tail flip! Just when we thought we had seen it all, a school of dolphins showed up and were with us for several minutes doing jumps and spinning moves and providing such a fun finish to the trip. Final snorkel spot had a couple turtles and eels again. A 5-Start trip + 2 stars for the whales and dolphins! We will be back. (Side note- we did this trip 15 years ago and it was amazing so we came back with our grown kids and it was even more amazing this time. read more

This was the best whale watching I've ever seen! (and I live in so cal) We saw many whales up close, and heard them communicate when the guys put a microphone in the water. I do not recommend this company. Our rafting tour out of Kihei was cancelled after we had only been on the water for an hour because one of the motors went out. While equipment issues happen, the way this situation was handled afterward was unacceptable. We were unable to rebook because we were leaving Hawaii the next day. The owner, Brooklyn, only refunded a very small portion of what we paid, despite the tour never being completed. To make matters worse, one person in our group became sick and was unable to attend. We were clearly told that they would receive a 100 percent refund if we provided documentation from a doctor. We submitted the required medical documentation as requested and never received a refund. Brooklyn also stopped responding to emails and follow ups altogether. Between the partial refund for a cancelled tour and the complete lack of follow through on a promised medical refund, this experience felt unprofessional and untrustworthy. Communication was poor and commitments were not honored. I would caution others before booking with this company. read more

This was one of the best snorkeling tours I went on. Our guide was friendly and gave us insights into what we were seeing. We toured the lava caves on the southside. We were lucky to have a great weather day and few people. We snorkeled La Perouse. We got to snorkel some great parts of the inside of Molokini Crater, AND also the backside which was 60 ft deep near the crater! It was such a a unique experience. Then we saw a bunch of turtles and 'cleaning station' at Turtle Town. What a great day on/in the water. read more
