I ordered through DoorDash and got the chicken chow mein, shrimp egg foo young, and cheese wontons. The wontons were fine, but the other two dishes were disappointing. The chow mein was extremely salty and had so much sauce that it was more like a soup. It also didn't come with any crunchy chow mein noodles. The gravy for the shrimp egg foo young was also very salty. I've had chow mein and egg foo young from many other places, and this was not it. Sadly, I won't be able to eat it and will have to throw it away. Definitely not what I was expecting. I will not be ordering from here again or going back. read more

My go to for quick takeout Chinese food! They are friendly and the food is always piping hot. The dinner combos come with an egg roll and are super cheap. You get a lot of food for the price. 2 stars only because the food was hot... I ordered the sautéd pork "small" size, it literally had 4 pieces of pork I counted, and they just filled the rest of the container with cabbage & mushrooms. Unbelievable lol.. Also, our egg foo young lacked chicken in it, very low portion for their high price. Also, the cream cheese puffs were mostly breading and no filling, so be careful ordering those! Eddie Cheng has been disappointing and average as of lately. We used to get it every week but haven't been back until recently and when we did we see why. The beef used to be our favorite but now tastes gamey. The dumplings however were very good so maybe we just have to switch our usual pickens to something new. They do deliver which is great. So, where to begin..... I was told by my coworkers about how good Eddie Cheng was so I decided to grab a quick take out from them before I went into work. I went for something simple on their lunch special menu and order the chicken chow mein with white rice and crispy noodles. The chow mein was okay, you really can't do celery and chicken wrong but it just felt lackluster. The food tasted like it was under seasoned, which usually I'm all for but this didn't sit right for me. The chicken tasted rubbery, almost to the point where I questioned if it was actually meat. I understand tenderizing your meats with cornstarch in Asian cuisines but this was bad, real bad for me. This is my go to Chinese restaurant. I love that they deliver and its super quick. The food is delicious and affordable. I recommend the lunch specials, it will fill you up and put you into a food coma. the food has tons of flavor. This is not your typical Chinese restaurant. Sad to say they've made some changes that are just disappointing. I don't know if it's new management or just cutting corners, but I haven't been back in months; and my family used to order take-out at least once every two weeks. Their delicious dumplings are no more, replaced with overcooked, doughy blobs. Their egg rolls have changed too, the new ones are just gross. It seems like everything we usually ordered was just lower quality than previous visits. The main dishes all had a lot less meat and a bit more veggies. After our first disappointing visit, we did order a few more times. We were hoping it was a fluke. No such luck. There's a hole in the wall and only 3 tables and 1 of them are usually occupied by an employee making food. Also, when you call for delivery is takes from 1 to 2 hours from end of call to delivery. Asked that my $20.89 order be delivered. 45 min later I recieved some super greasy lomain, Beef&brocolli beef i had to get out kitchen shears out to cut into smaller bits they where so tough & grizzly. Here's the kicker! Delivery driver shows up. As Im signing the CC slip and adding tip of $3.50 ( yea im poor but its 17%) the driver lets out this grunt and mumbles something inaudible. Person watching noticed his body gestures and eyerolls in addition to the noises I heard. Well I'm sorry I tipped at all at this point. Eddie not sure what you're paying your driver but acording to drivers body language you don't pay enough. I'm 1.4 miles away and still believe 17% was an ok tip. I've alway been a happy Fongs customer. Yea they cost more but Ive never had to toss out food that was just too gross to eat. But thought Id give the other local restaurant some business, once. I'm a big fan of Eddie Cheng in Lakeville, but this Burnsville location had lowest quality standards. I tried them once but never again. I ordered the chicken lomain, shrimp w lobster sauce, lemon chkn. All were tastless and had no flavor. The lemon ch had tiny chuncks of chck in stale and heavy bater. padded with raw broccolli! Lomain noodles were of lowest quality. Very stingy on the oriental sauce. I do not recommend their take out. read more

Called to cancel after another hour and the woman on the phone was super rude and insisted the delivery had shown up and waited five minutes and called us numerous times which is a complete lie. Update: last few times I've ate here my egg rolls have not been as good as they used to be. Tonight we tried Seafood Deluxe and Triple Delight. Not great. The seafood delight picture is nothing like what you get, the "lobster" is imitation crab, the scallops were poor quality maybe even imitation if there is such a thing, the sauce and shrimp were good but dish was mostly veggies. Triple delight also mostly veggies, next to no shrimp and fatty chewy chunks of beef and "whit meat chicken" I'm saddened by this as now I won't be able to convince my spouse to go at all anymore so I'll be driving to Savage for D.Fongs (terrible egg rolls there however) or trying a few other places I haven't really been in. Eddie Cheng's is simply the best Chinese food in the area. They make the absolute best General Tso chicken, that mixed with their fried rice.....I would eat there every day if I could! It's cheaper than what I get at McDonalds! Great food and great prices. I don't know how they stay in business when they charge so little, but I'm glad they do. Stopped in for lunch on a Friends recommendation. They only have 3-4 tables so they are more set up for take out. 2 employees were sitting at one of the customer tables snapping the ends off of peapods from a big brown paper bag. Didn't seem like the best place to do that but whatever. It was FREEZING in there. I mean FREEZING. Everyone had on coats that was working there and we never took ours off. We were there at 12:30 for about 40 min. Never saw one other customer. Got back into our car ad cranked the heat. The chicken was bad...it was slimy and maybe undercooked? I'm new to the area and have been trying to find a decent Chinese takeout place in Burnsville Apple Valley region. This is my most recent destination. Food quality was very average at best. Kept it simple with general tso's chicken and steamed rice. The sauce was sweet and flavorful and it was a large portion. The actual chicken was extremely lacking in quality.
