We came for take out, and ordered Vermicelli Salad with Grilled Pork and the Grilled Pork Chop Rice Plate with Meat Loaf. The ambiance is a bright and simple hole in the wall, but with amazing original murals on the wall! The food here is on the level with some of the best Vietnamese establishments on Eat Street and Frogtown. The pork was well marinated and charred. All the ingredients were very fresh. We will not go back. I will say this. The food is always very good. The reason we won't go back is due to the way I was treated. The employees were staring at me, whispering and laughing at the way I was eating. I am white and I have never been taught "how" to eat Pho. But clearly in their opinion I was not doing it correctly. My husband is Asian and we were there with our son. It is their favorite place and we have gone there multiple times. I am almost always the only white person there so I suppose I must stand out to being a good person to get some fun out of. But they have now lost our business. This was my first experience with pho and I must say, man have I been missing out! My husband and friends have always been lovers of pho but for some reason it never seemed to do the trick for me. However!! We've had this place on our to try list forever and finally made a date night out of it. What a fun experience! The place is small, tucked away in the strip mall with Cub and a handful of other places but don't be fooled, it's a gem! We arrived and it was empty which I'll admit did give me a little pause, but after we had been sat and our orders taken the place filled up within 10-15 minutes! Called in on a Wednesday for a to go order for lunch if just an order of spring rolls. It was ready within 10 minutes and it was $6 since I paid cash. Honestly I thought they were a little pricey, but then I saw the size of these things and they're much bigger than any I've seen before, since this was the only thing I tried it's hard to make a judgement on everything else but the spring rolls were really good! We absolutely loved this place, it was our go to spot after countless tries trying to find the perfect Chinese/ Vietnamese restaurant. Sure the menu was expansive and a little overwhelming but the food was made with care and "love." Alright so I know the name says pho. Don't go for the pho at least one time try something else. You want to ask for the Hu Tieu Nam Vang and you want it Dry. It does come with a mini bowl of broth. So it's pho noodles with some seafood and pork and they've adjusted to other meats or just made it all seafood for me before. And then it comes with beansprouts and lime. And then at the bottom of the bowl is this awesome oily sauce that you stir the noodles into after you put your sprouts in and you can either slurp your broth as you go or pour in the broth as you go. We just picked up some lunch there today and brought it home. It was delicious!!!!!!!! It was packaged very well! You pretty much assemble it when you get home. The meat is raw and the hot broth cooks the thinly sliced meat so I wouldn't suggest if you have a long trip home. Service was good. Only took about 15 minutes for two medium pho bowls. The price is great as well! If I could give this 10 stars I would! It's their grand opening so I hope standards stay this good because this will be our favorite treat spot! read more
