Conveniently located downtown with plenty of free garage parking, the hassle free experience of getting to Eddie V's was appreciated! Our group attended for a company dinner and we enjoyed our array of delicious dishes as well as cocktails. Eddie V's is a fine dining experience with business casual dress code required. The interior is polished and elegant with a private room bookable for groups. Now to the food! Appetizers were incredible and I wouldn't mind them being the main course either, especially the calamari. Crispy, fried to perfection with stir fried veggies filled with so much flavor. For the main course, I had the Chilean sea bass. The quality of the seafood here does not disappoint. While Hong Kong styled, it does stray from the original dish stylistically. The traditional element of thinly sliced scallions doused with hot oil as a finishing touch to extract the essence wasn't there but replaced with a bed of micro greens. A little less flavor than expected but delicious nonetheless. Dessert was decadent with the dark chocolate notes mingling well with the fresh berries and ice cream. What stood out even more was the PROFESSIONAL staff. Hands down they were some of the best I've ever encountered in any restaurant experience. They were so attentive to all of us, got all of our orders down without any hiccups, and expertly maneuvered in and out during the company presentation which is definitely a challenge no doubt! This was my first time back to Eddie V's in years. We had moved away but are back now. It was my wife's Bday and we went last night. First, I will say our waiter was amazing! The manger's at this restaurant are awful. The food was eatable. We arrived and were slowly seated. Once at our table "Gage" the amazing waiter immediately introduced himself. We placed our order, two orders of wagyu dumplings, I had the two lobster tails, my wife had steak and lobster and my son had salmon. We also ordered two adult cocktails. After we ordered one of the mangers walked up and delivered a small treat from the chef, she dropped it on my lap. She looked at me and said "we luckily it didn't fall on you that much". Never brought me a towel or anything. My wife had a couple of sips of her wine, when she looked down and noticed a fly moving in her glass of wine. She was not sure if she put her mouth on it, or drank another one that could have been in it. I immediately told the closest person who worked there and she said they would get a manager to come over. No manager ever came to our table. They replaced the wine. The manger's checked in the tables beside us but never once said we are sorry. On top of this, which wasn't a small mistake, the bread came out 30 mins after we sat down, my wife's steak was overcooked, my lobster tails were not 7 ounces and my sons salmon was overcooked! They got one extra star on this review for Gage but we will not be returning. Almost 500'dollars for food we could have eaten at some cheap place like Outback but at least there the managers would say something. read more

I usually save places like this for special occasions. My little cousin who enjoys more upscale restaurants wanted to go here. I'm more of a Texas Roadhouse or Red Lobster kind of person, but I was happy to take her during happy hour. She loved everything and appreciated being able to order whatever she wanted, my treat. We had reservations for a party of 4 at 8:45pm on a Friday night at the piano bar area. We've eaten here before, but in the "formal" dining area. I was very excited to try sit on the other side. We actually got seated at 9pm because the people at the table that was there previously would not leave. It wasn't a big deal. We were given waters by one of the hosts and we were just talking amongst ourselves until they were ready. The host staff said we were the nicest people they've encountered that day. When we got seated, I was grooving to the chill sounds of the band. I ordered the scallops, which were perfectly cooked. So tasty, so tender! I still have... Nothing but LOVE for this establishment! Again, I've been to Eddie V's for a number of events: birthdays, family dinners and date nights! It's a white tablecloth, "ooh, I feel fancy" vibe with the wait staff all in professional coats and button ups, but there's not a stuffiness or snootiness about it. I'd say it's because the waiters while professional seem to be having a great and relaxed time. It lends to a nice, quality dining experience. So they switched their menu up... it seemed smaller, more condensed. They still had a bunch of my favorites minus the amazing Molten Lava Cake. Heartbreaking to see it go! They have a bar with live music at times, large dining room, and a few private dining and event spaces. They have Happy Hour menu & specials that I need to go for sometime! This visit I enjoyed: POINT JUDITH CALAMARI - Kung Pao Style with Wok-Fried Vegetables and Roasted Cashews Cesar Salad with yummy garlic croutons and an olive tapenade Steak medallions - there were two or three, perfectly cooked as ordered, topped with3 jumbo gulf shrimp scampi style. We did family style sides or asparagus and the au gratin cheddar potatoes. Y'all!!!! Those potatoes are sinfully delicious. Like should be illegal. Potatoes in a Creamy Cheese Sauce and Baked to perfection. Another great meal with good company & good service from Eddie V's. Excellent and priced right options on their happy hour menu; filet mignon sliders, oysters Rockefeller which were prepared perfectly! Yum! Well here's a rare 5 star review for you guys! My Girlfriend wanted seafood for her Birthday dinner so we decided on trying Eddie V's for our first time. I made a reservation and included that it was her birthday, when we arrived we were seated right away and they even had a birthday card on our table waiting. The restaurant itself is very nice inside, shortly after being seated we were pleasantly surprised to be greeted at our table by the executive chef to wish a happy birthday and bring us an amuse bouche! What an awesome gesture, a little later the restaurant manager also came by our table to greet us and wish a happy birthday. Our server was also fantastic. I ordered the 18oz bone in NY strip steak which was cooked to a perfect medium rare and had a nice crust on the outside, my girlfriend ordered the jumbo gulf shrimp with lump crab meat and an accompaniment of scallops, she said everything was delicious but especially the scallops, as a side we ordered the black truffle mac and cheese which was so so good and full of flavor! Wee would recommend this restaurant, If you don't mind paying a high price for just plain good food, nothing over the top to make it special. Definitely not a Truluck's now there is some over the top extremely delicious food. We had the Shellfish Tower - $69 it was good nothing amazing - my first lobster claw was fishy, so if you know seafood this is not a good first bite to have. The shrimp on there - had too many poop tracks left not a good second bite to have. We had the Main Lobster bisque with the smallest piece of Lobster on a soggy piece of toast - pretty bland - kind of sad I love Lobster Bisque. We had the Parmesan encrusted Sole $42- tastes like Parmesan it was good nothing over the top. We had the Chilean Sea-bass $51- this should be like butter - there was way too much Ginger and maybe 1 TBSP of Spinach - way too much Ginger it was overpowering. I had an enhancement added of the North Atlantic Scallops $21.00- these were 3 extremely tiny scallops covered in so many micro greens you couldn't see them. For Accompaniments, we had the Butter Poached Lobster Mashed Potatoes$13, very bland, small pieces of Lobster not worth $24 - We also had Grilled Asparagus with sea salt and lemon not sure where the sea salt and lemon was - but the asparagus was cooked nicely, We also had the Monterey Style Sweet Corn $14- Ah this is where the butter went - tasted good. They did give us Sourdough Bread - decent. They did make a very good Skinny Jalapeño Margarita on the rocks, worth every penny The waiter was kind and tried very hard, he had a lot to contend with, for there was a man in a large Booth by himself face timing - not his girlfriend because he has no clue where she works or lives, but sends her money - by me knowing this should tell you how loud he was, a Manager or General Manager should have explained this is fine dining and you need to please turn your phone off or down - all the tables around him had to endure his face time for an hour - because they were too afraid or apprehensive to ask him to tone it down. Do we recommend this restaurant, yes if you are looking for a good meal, but it is definitely not worth $350 for 2 people. Ambiance they ask above - hhhmm, it was ok - the young girls at the front should close the front door (even though they know it opens on its own) they need to take ownership of their position, w requested and called to ensure a booth and they again were too busy amongst themselves to understand but finally a light went on and we got our booth. Eddie V's gave us one of the best anniversaries we have had in a while. Talk about making the experience a memorable one. Most of my review is going to be about the experience they provided because it was honestly excellent and I don't use that word a lot when describing my experience. The waitress Jenifer Brodie Ohh man she was top tier 5 star server quality. She was professional, friendly, funny, quick, attentive, and just an all around awesome person. She made our evening the best. We had the fish of the day which was the swordfish topped with crabmeat garnished with fresh herbs in a house made Asian sauce. Talk about delicious. This meal was everything. Jenifer was also notified of my wife's dietary needs and was able to compensate effortlessly. She made sure the kitchen knew of the allergy as well as checked on the quality herself. I can't say enough about how great Jenifer was. The evening was topped off with a nice anniversary desert over flames and the perfect ending to a perfect evening out with the wife. I don't remember Eddie V's providing this experience years ago when we visited but this last visit they are back on our list of best places to eat. Went out for our annual girls night dinner extravaganza. Absolutely loved this place and they were very accommodating when one member of our party caused us to be 30 min late. When I called them they rescheduled our time with no problem. Service was impeccable and our waiter dealt w all our questions. Loved that you could buy each other separately. The crab fried rice, lobster, filet and lobster bisque was great. But was not too crazy about the steamed sea bass it seemed very bland. My only complaint is the main dining room was extremely hot packed with all the people and wait staff. I actually got nauseous from being too hot. The service is always 5 stars, the drinks are wonderful and fun (they even have a smoked old fashioned). I partially love their raw oyster selections. The restaurant proper is beautiful and elegant, with an open kitchen, but I prefer to sit in the bar area (you do still need reservations for the bar area, but not the bar itself). The pictures aren't the best because I dug in before I remembered to take pictures so don't let them fool you, the meal was absolutely delicious and what I would expect from a priced seafood/steakhouse. I ordered the bone in New York strip, medium, it was so flavorful and perfectly cooked. Best steak I've had in Texas or at any steakhouse for that matter. The corn was fresh and sweets. I'm told the Mac and cheese was good and my colleagues were very pleased with their shrimp and other side dishes. The dessert! I don't remember what my colleague ordered but it came with fire! A few things. Food was mediocre. That's probably being too nice. I can name a million other upscale dining nearby with better food. It's freezing inside and they don't care if it bothers their guests. I heard everyone around us ask if they could turn the temp a bit warmer and I heard the manager say it can't be changed ‍. Our waiter, was wonderful and gave us the best experience and we tipped him accordingly for that. However, the lady that came up to me that didn't even introduce herself as manager or whoever she was handed me a tablecloth and told me to use it because it would make other guests uncomfortable while I was minding my own business nursing my son not bothering anyone. Meanwhile this woman allowed multiple guests with their boobs and butt cheeks hanging out their skirts, shorts, and blouses if you can even call it a blouse or maybe I should say tube tops to walk right past and she says nothing to them? Not to mention men also not adhering to the dress code? It is illegal in the state of Texas and most of the United States to tell a woman to cover up while breastfeeding. Not only did she argue with my husband after speaking to me in a condescending way like she was disgusted, but when she left to supposedly get the manager she didn't return until we were halfway through our meal to interrupt us, as if she hadn't already done enough, to tell ME not to be mad... No apology, no manager, nothing just don't be mad. I wrote an email to the management to give them a chance to make it right, but nothing. And they've been deleting my review ever since it happened- which they have our contact information if they wanted to reach out and apologize- I wouldn't have had to do any of this. If I had to pick one word to describe our experience it would be AMAZING!! We came for our 12 year wedding anniversary. The restaurant is dark and intimate. Jaime our server provided us with one of the most amazing service we have ever had. He was knowledgeable about the menu, he was friendly, funny and he just made sure we were taken care of from start to finish. The presentation of the food and drinks was a 10/10. The food was incredibly flavorful! As our appetizer we shared the Crab Cake, I had the 8oz filet mignon with a Lobster tail and it was all so delicious. We paired our meal with grilled asparagus and the Au Gratin Potatoes, which were both perfect. If you come here you have to get the Hope Diamond and 23 Karat drinks because they won't disappoint you. This was our first trip to Eddie Vs. Hands down, Eddie V's. The cut of that NY Strip, the sear, the flavor, the tenderness, pure love. The service was what you'd expect, just crisp and on point, every aspect. No detail missed. It also felt nice to be in my spiffy business, casual attire, shiney shoes, and all. My fly Navy Pea coat. You may not be worth a billion bucks, but when you walk in, you're treated as if you're worth a billion. Bezos eat ya heart out. I was feeling superfly. If you don't spoil yourself enough and need to, hit this place up. You truly deserve it. The Au gratin potatoes........ omg. The truffle mac n cheese..... sweet baby Jesus. Good place for a special occasion dinner. They had decorated our table with confetti and gave us a signed card congratulating us on our anniversary. The parmesan crusted sole was delicious and the au gratin potatoes were some of the best I have had. We started with the crab cake which was very good also. Service was a little slow; normally I get a little more attention at a high end steakhouse, but overall no complaints in this area.
